Rimessa Roscioli - Wine bar in Vatican City, Vatican City
Rimessa Roscioli in Vatican City
Description
We did the wine tasting dinner and I cannot say enough about it. The host was so knowledgeable and so pleasant to spend several hours with. The food was also amazing. HIghly recommend Rimessa Roscioli for their wine pairing dinner.
MoreFriendly service, nice food & good selection of wines. We sat outside so cant really comment on the ambiance inside the restaurant. Definitely Worth visiting!
MoreFabulous - Five Course Lunch - Cooking Class, with six wine pairings, including a Franciacorta aperitif.Great experience and delicious food.Highly recommend it
MoreI have a feeling this review would have been a 5 stars one if we had taken something else than the wine and food pairing experience. The place is cozy, the jazzy music at the right level, the service was impeccable, the wines were all very good and their sommelier very knowledgeable... but the food was a little bit of a let down for me. Tiny portions, very well executed but definitely not on the generous side, also lacking the warmth of Italian food. I dont think the amount of food we had was worth 2 x 75 euros (that one tiny pepper filled.with mutton was particularly sad). But all the plates from the à la carte menu looked stellar. So I would 100% recommend the place but maybe pick something else than the wine pairing experience.
MoreBeautiful tasting menu with the most excellent and well thought out wine pairings. The cheeses and meats are something we’re still dreaming about, the tartare is so fresh, the pasta is amazing as is always the case at Roscioli, the meatball was one of the best I’ve ever had. Deserts were also spectacular. Wine pairings so good we’ve decided to join their wine club!! Nice ambiance outside and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Plan on returning next time we’re in Rome.
MoreMy husband and I did the wine and food pairing at Rimessa Roscioli and had an amazing time. The food was incredible, the wine was delicious and they shared great insights on the pairings and the wine. This will be a MUST to do again next time we visit! You will not regret doing it!
MoreSuch a great experience! Caterina was wonderful and it was nice meeting other people. We arent wine experts and appreciated Caterinas explanations. We also love that they work with some small wineries so youre getting unique wines.
MoreThis was simply the worst experience Ive ever had in my life. I called to book a last minute table and the person I talked to said she had a table and the reservation was made for 20h. At 20h I got to the place and the host said my name wasnt on the reservations list, but he was going to find me a table. We sit, ordered our starters and 2 glasses of wine. The waiter came and asked if we wanted to order our plates, we said we would drink another glass before ordering the main dish. After this another waiter came and said we needed to leave right away because they gave us another couples table and they had arrived. I asked if I couldnt even eat the main dish, and she said NO, we had to leave right away. I EPHASIZE WE WERE SIMPLY EXPELLED from the restaurant. I tried to argument that no one told us we had a stipulated time to eat, but that was it, they just wanted us to go, and fast.I chose this restaurant to have our last dinner in Rome, IVE NEVER BEEN SO MISTREATED in my hole life. Its just sad I chose so badly for my last meal in Italy.Hope you never put any other costumer in the position they put me and my husband.
MoreMy mom and I booked the wine and food tasting dinner on our first trip to Italy last week. It was so nice to learn more about where the wines were originated and more of the history. Highly recommend going to this experience!
MoreOn arrival the restaurant was chaotic and disorganized, which evidently caused stress to the waiters, that passed on to how we were greeted at the door, without any warmth or an inviting atmosphere - this effected the overall dining experience. The meal itself was ok.Beef tartar, ingredients were of high quality and a dish I would recommend. Both pasta dishes were overpowered by salt of the bacon and looking in the kitchen pasta was not been made fresh in house.Octopus was extremely rubbery, hard to chew and the sauce Lacked flavor.Wine suggestions were wonderful and unique flavors.Glad I tried it, but wouldn’t go back.
MoreSuch a real good place to eat italian pasta. People are nice, food is really good and carefully presented, I loved it, thank you !
MoreWonderful evening tasting new (to uswines and meeting new people. Alessandro is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly! Delicious food and wine! We would definitely do this again and highly recommend it for a night out
MoreLovely spot close to the river in quiet part of Rome. Very relaxed setting with beautiful wine display in every corner of the interior. We asked the servers for a wine paring with every dish; the selections were perfect. Some of the best wines are exclusive to this restaurant group. Relatively low price given outstanding quality; tremendous value for money. The staff were friendly and the Sommelier made excellent recommendations with knowledge about the wine and ingredients in the food. Reservation required. Highly recommend.
MoreMy wife and I visited here on our trip to Rome and it was one of the standout experiences! We did the wine and meal tasting which consists of 6 tastings of food as well as 6 glasses of wine perfectly paired with what you will eat. It was fantastic all of the food was delicious and every glass of wine they paired with it truly elevated the meal! Service was awesome and the environment was great. If we lived in Rome I would not hesitate to come again and would definitely say it’s a restaurant to go too especially as a traveller
MoreThe service is really the best of the best. We didnt participate the wine pairing course but looked very good. The facilities are neat and the staff are so friendly. Actually, I made a reservation for a regular dinner, but the restaurant mistakenly recognized it, so I sat on the wine fairing team for a while, but the female manager at the restaurant moved it to the regular dinner table, apologized very kindly, and gave me a free glass of wine and one free plate. I received a very kind service throughout the meal, and I shared the foods with my group, and I was surprised by the meticulousness of dividing a pasta into two plates. I recommend this restaurant if you want friendly service. 햔쿸쌀암 잎맜웬 쨔고 비륄쑤이쎄요. 서비스는 최고. 저녁식사이후에도 정말 기분좋을 정도로.
MoreWe did the wine tasting, it was great. Great food options, really detailed explanation of each wine. Atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend, it was 65 euro/person and you have to book online
MoreOne of the best restaurants in Roma and THE best service experience in my life. I’ve been to some really great restaurants and the service by Nichola, our server and staff, was the best I’ve ever experienced. Her knowledge of the food and wine was bar none, she knew the wine inside and out, and when we ordered a nice bottle she took the time to decant the bottle carefully and strain it of sentiment, she prepared each of six glasses by pouring in some wine and swirling carefully and then moving onto the next glass. She then tasted it first to make sure that it was perfect and her reaction to the wine was priceless, she was genuinely excited the 40+ year old Chianti had aged so well. The food was very good, authentic, all prepared in house and sourced of local ingredients. What more can you ask for!?!?All of the staff was incredible with our kids, engaging, friendly and just awesome. What a five star experience in Roma!
MoreTruly exceptional evening. I met beautiful fellow travellers - a global village all over 8 gorgeous items of food and divine pairing of wines. Katerina was a fantastic host.
MoreVisited rimessa and had a wine tasting, this place is a must if your visiting Rome! Wonderful wines paired with excellent food and great service. We were a mixture of people both with wine experiences and me without any at all. After the tasting you can either order some wine delivered home or buy directly at the spot, I splurged and bought some wine and pasta. Would love to go back!
MoreThe food sampling menu with wine pairing was awesome! The server was really attentive and prompt. I wish there was more variety in the wines as only 1 white and the rest were red. The food was delicious though
MorePretty great carbonara and cacio e pepe. We tried a bunch of different versions all around town in four days of eating and this spot was probably our favorite representation of both dishes. Big, copious, crispy chunks of rendered guanciale in the carbonara and nice emulsification of the pecorino cheese, pasta water, and pepper in the latter dish. They also had a very nice private label natural vino rosso cesanese from Lazio that was a hit too very fruity with ripe cherries but dry finish! Will be back grazie mille, raggazi!
MoreWe came here for wine tasting, very interesting, enjoyable, and great tasting wines. The team are friendly and helpful too!
MoreFantastic Experience and highly recommend to everyone! Our favorite meal when visiting Rome and Mattia and team were superb.
MoreHands down the best food we had in Rome. It’s a relaxed take on fine dining and the setting is lovely. The tasting menu has a wine paring included in the price giving outstanding value for money. The staff were friendly and the Sommelier in particular was excellent, full of knowledge about the wine and food.
MoreThis was a great experience! Youll definitely need a reservation. We ended up doing the tasting menu which was a 6 course meal with wine pairing for 60 euros per person. Its the first time Ive done something like that and it was mostly worth it. Im vegetarian so I was skeptical but they actually delivered and made me special courses to substitute the meat! The first course was a cheese course which was delicious. They gave us burrata, mozzarella, and ricotta. Each had its own topping and paired nicely with the wine. The second course was cut meats but Im vegetarian so they gave some really nice cheeses and broccolini instead. The third was cacio de pepe which is the whole reason we went to that restaurant in the first place. It was actually too salty at first but they made us another and it was perfect. The fourth course was the meatballs and they made me a special potato thing instead which was nice. It was also small which was perfect because we were losing steam. The fifth course took us over the edge. It was two aged cheeses and was delicious but I found the pieces a bit too big and we were just absolutely stuffed after. The sixth was two desserts and both were lovely. Im usually very picky about dessert but they were surprisingly good.Special shoutout to our waitress who was incredible. She spent a lot of time talking through the wine pairings and explaining where each wine came from. She also was very accomodating when we said our cacio de pepe was too salty. It was overall an excellent experience.
MoreWe really wanted to like this place based on the excellent reviews, but it unfortunately did not deliver. The ambiance is quite nice, and the wines are excellent. The staff tries hard but there is much happening in a packed space that lends itself to feeling a bit chaotic. The most disappointing aspect of the experience was the food which we found to be mediocre and rather bland - a rarity for Italian food. We had the scallops, sea urchin pasta, meatballs, and octopus; none felt like they were up to the high caliber of food that is advertised, particularly the octopus which was quite rubbery. The waitress was very kind to offer us additional items and an after dinner drink which we greatly appreciated - very classy. After a wonderful two week trip in Italy with amazing meals, this would be that one restaurant that we would not recommend to others if you are looking for an excellent culinary experience.
MoreDelicious food, friendly hosts, nice wine, a terrific spot.
The best tiramisu we’ve ever eaten. Everything is extremely delicious.
FIVE STARS are not enough for Rimessa Roscioli! My friends and I did the wine tasting a few weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. We did three tastings while we were in Italy and this was by far the best. Lindsay was knowledgeable, gracious, friendly and the best host. The food was so delicious and perfectly paired with each wine. We are already planning our return!! Thank you Rimessa Roscioli for a perfect night!
MoreBy far my favorite dining and wine event in Rome, and one of my favorite events from our 2 week vacation in Italy. The staff was so friendly and made the wine pairing educational and interesting. A perfect evening that I would do again and again if given the opportunity!
MoreService staff were exceptional. Such great wine storytellers… so helpful when I ordered the wine after. The wine we got to try was so unique. Food was good too. Atmosphere was great. Highly recommend!
MoreHad dinner there last night. Servers were all friendly but clearly understaffed. This led to extremely slow service and basic service misses. They were being strange about ordering wine, they wouldnt let you order it yourself so we ended up with some bad wines were guessing they tried to funnel us into the wine tasting so we didnt disrupt their flow. The food was decent, no real complaints but we received our main dish after our dessert. We didnt say anything because the server was gone for 45 minutes at a time so we just tried to make sure it didnt end up on our bill. This was a really disappointing service. Without even asking they gave us a small discount because they knew it was a bad night. My time in Rome was short and i regret choosing this place. Its full of nothing but Americans and i fell into the trip advisor YouTube trap. Oh well, lesson learned for next time.
MoreWe had the most amazing experience at cooking class with the amazing lily. The place looked great and super clean. All the products were the best quality you can get.Lily was just divine! You could feel she’s a professional! She was very passionate and caring, she personalised everything for our requests. The food at the end was amazing and the wine pairing was over the top with some of the best wine I’ve ever had.Bottom line if you wish to do a cooking class in Rome- this is the best place to do so.
MoreWe loved the wine tasting experience! The wine and food pairings were excellent, and I was equally thrilled by the opportunity to learn some interesting facts about Italian wines and socialise with our table mates. The experience lasted just over 2 hours. Highly recommend!
MoreThe food was phenomenal. We tried the 59€ tasting menu and loved the meatball and cacio e pepe. The tasting menu is very cheese heavy and rich. The wine pairing that comes with it was well prepared and truly paired with each course. We did find the service to be quite slow. We were seated at the restaurant at 7:30 while not many other patrons were there and it took 10 minutes before we were greeted by any server for drink or food orders. After they brought us dessert it took us 30 minutes to flag someone to bring the bill, even though everyone in our party was actively trying to flag a server. The workers were constantly in a rush, even when pouring wine. If the service had been more attentive this would for sure be 5 stars.
MoreThe place is really we located, away from the touristic parts in a rather quite street. Nice terrace and beautiful interior. The wine testing sessions are really nice, plenty of wine to discover and nice food to go with. I have put 4 stars because the plates weve got (we got 6 different plateswhere overall good but not all where fully convincing. The tartar was not really seasoned which can be the choice from the chef to present the meat in its pure form and taste but mixing it with the fermented fruit and kind of ricotta offered a strange mix, I felt something was missing but I liked the cut of the meat. The pasta was very good and the ricotta dessert was to heavy, like full ricotta kinda mousse but too dense. Was also missing something to balance the cheese which overtook the other ingredients. It may fit others taste ! I should mention that the wine list is impressive and that they provide good advices.
MoreThis place is a very interesting combination of fine dining/Michelin star type of restaurant with a laid back approach. The food is exquisite and so is the drinks selection. The staff are very helpful, accommodating and extremely friendly. Highly recommended - however you need to book well in advance to get a table.
MoreGreat restaurant. Their Cacio e pepe i the best in Rome.
The best food and wine experience in Rome! GUARANTEED! so local but also super high quality :)
MoreIt was good, but unfortunately just not as good as wed hoped. We felt a little ignored on the service side and would have ordered more to drink had anyone come by to check on us
MoreAs a tourist visiting Rome for food and wine, Rimessa Roscioli ended up in our top restaurant visits. We like to dine by ourselves so the group questions and quiz games weren’t really for us, but the passion of the team and the set up of the evening were lovely.Price/quality this is really a lovely night out
MoreHad the 5 course meal with wine pairings and it was one of the most memorable meals I have ever had. Staff was super friendly and did an excellent job explaining the pairings as well as answering any questions. First time eating here and next time I am in Rome, I will be back.
MoreMy overall review is that the food was bland and overpriced. The wait staff was incompetent. Do not eat at this restaurant. Please read on for further details. This was by far the worst meal of my trip to Italy. My wife and I spent a week in Italy split between Florence and Rome. While in Florence we were delighted by the wines and truffle menu. On our last night in Italy we wanted to experience a truffle pasta again and were excited by the menu at Rimessa Roscioli. I contacted the restaurant to ensure we would be seated and was given a 6:30 PM reservation. When I arrived promptly at 6:30 PM, the restaurant could not find my reservation and it took a few minutes of conversation with other coworkers to work it out. Unfortunately, we were seated.Bread and olive oil were promptly brought to the table. The focaccia was hard and dry with little flavor. The house bread was soft and also tasteless. The olive oil was not of great quality and so little of the bread and olive oil was eaten. We sat there with our tasteless bread and disappointing olive oil for 30 minutes without anyone asking to take our order. I finally had to get the attention of wait staff (who were not busy). The waitress took our order, which was a la carte as we were not hungry enough for a course meal and we had been told that we needed to be completed with the meal by 8:00 as that is when the next reservation was. My wife and I each ordered a starter and a first course dish. We asked about the wine menu and were told that it was on the QR online menu at the bottom. The waitress said she would be back in 2 minutes to take the wine order.Fast forward 15 minutes and we still had no wine ordered, but our starter dishes arrived. My wife had the beef tartar and I had the scallop tartar. Now, if the food had been amazing, I can be extremely forgiving of slow or even rude staff if the food is spectacular. The food wasnt even good. It was average. The beef tartar meat was tender and soft. The mustard used for the beef tarter had a nice taste and was not too hot. However, the meat was still in rather large chunks as opposed to a refined tartar. The scallop tartar tasted of raw scallops. I would expect as much with such a dish, but I also expect an accompanying flavor to carry the raw scallop. No such flavor was present. A plate of raw scallop. The sliver of good news...the wine finally arrived. This whole experience was already disappointing. We are now 50 minutes into our meal after slowly eating our respective tartar. We sit patiently for another 20 minutes and have not been waited on in any shape or form. No questions of enjoyment or if another glass of wine was required. No second dish either. I finally asked where the food was as we have now been there for over an hour and have each eaten a single starter. The waiter responds that it will be out immediately which translated to 5 minutes later. I was irritated but excited to once again enjoy the delicious flavors of a well prepared truffle pasta. However, this anticipation fell flat on its face when I had my first mouthful of bland tasteless pasta covered in dry truffle. I hoped my wifes sea urchin pasta was not more of the same. It wasnt. It tasted of ocean...and nothing else. The flavor was mild and fluttered away before the first breath after a swallow. Please see pictures for documentation of the unfinished meal. This horrible meal and disgusting service cost me 80 euros. I love delicious food and I dont mind paying a premium for delicious food. This was the opposite. Please avoid at all costs. By far the worst meal in Italy. Ranks in the bottom 5 of my life.
MoreRecommended! A good experience if you enjoy wine, food and good company. The sommelier was very charismatic and explained to us every detail of the history, elaboration and origin of each wine. The food was very good, especially the cheeses & pasta.
MoreGreat vines list, incl champagne Krug. Very modern interesting menu - roman classic with modern sense. Not fat or heavy, light. Excellent service. All details are meaningful and exceptional. Highly recommended.
MoreI did the wine tasting experience (recommended by a friend who had been here a couple years agoand thoroughly enjoyed myself! It was relaxing, informative, and the food and wine were both excellent. I can’t say enough about how good Michala was with her information about the wine (and the food). I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting Rome, definitely one of the highlights of my trip!
MoreWe booked the cooking class that included wine pairing. Oh my! This was one of my favorite activities I have done in Rome! We had so much fun, learned how to make the best meatballs and learned about pairing wine to the recipes that I will be making at home. Our experience was so relaxing and was a small intimate group. We were given plenty of time to learn and enjoy. Our chef had such a great personality and we learned so much from her. I was so happy to have this class and I will definitely book another one next time I am in Rome.
MoreVery lovely “bistronomic” lunch on the outdoor terrace of Rimessa Roscioli. The street is not busy at all so the lunch was very quiet and agreeable in that sense (you can focus on the food instead of filtering out the noise of traffic). The service was really really friendly. There is also the option to do a wine tasting while having lunch (the wine menu is quite extensive, so is the cellar downstairs), and we heard the sommelier explaining with a lively enthusiasm the specificities of each wine region in Italy. About our food: the portions were right in size, and extremely tasty, you can feel the quality of the ingredients (virgin olive oil, premium guanchale for the carbonara sauce etc). Would love to repeat for dinner during my next visit to Roma.
MoreWe came for a wine tasting dinner for my birthday, it was wonderful and the owner was so knowledgeable. The dinner was great too, the cacio e pepe was seriously delicious. We got served a natural white wine by accident during the tasting, and actually came back later that week to have a bottle of it. The sommelier Magdalena (?remembered our group and got us the bottle of wine we were thinking of! Plus a small bite to pair with it, which was perfect. Its a wonderful place for wine, wonderful place for a snack, and wonderful place for dinner. Highly recommended.
MoreThe location is very nice, appetisers and drinks were pretty good. If I have to leave a review for the main course it will be 1 star. We waited too long, the ribs were chewy, the pasta was average and the veggie option had a cheese that was too bitter/sour for the dish. I leave a 4 star here because the waitress Georgia was really really kind, helpful and accommodating. Sometimes the good staff compensates for the bad food :)
