Starting with the greeter, the service was excellent. The menu is varied, with unique entrees that will suit everyones taste.

Every time…I mean EVERY time I go to Rik’s, I get outstanding customer service and the food is delicious! My daughter and I shared and enjoyed the fresh Caesar salad with shaved parm,(crunchy, fresh romaine…I never have to pick out old, brown leafs), bbq wings(yes they come out with a little crisp before they are sauced)-yum, cheesy-to-the -max mac n cheese, and their signature hand-cut fries! I haven’t had a bad thing yet! Prices are reasonable and there is a full bar. Clean restaurant, family-owned, awesome staff, delicious eats! Just go!🤩

Flavorful food and great staff, unique little touches for condiments like apple butter and a delicious tarter sauce.Only complaint is upgrade the laminated menus. They are really old, look worn out and doesnt set a good tone.

Riks cafe nailed it. The food is fresh and the menu has a simple variety. Service was excellent. I’m a truck driver so I love trying new places and this is now on my top 5 for restaurants across the country. Thank you for taking the time to make fresh food. Had the jalapeño popper dip - entree of the chicken with crab sauce and crab cake. Definitely coming back

Has the best Crab Pretzel and Chicken Chesapeake. The environment is great and the waiters are excellent(never had to ask for anything). Top tier service and food would recommend everyone to try!

First restaurant that Ive ate in that price range but Ive actually felt full and satisfied it was very tasty I got to barbecue pork sandwich and sweet potato fries Not only was the food good the audience was extra special in the people were extra friendly and very polite I will have to come back. My wife, mother in law and I just ate dinner at Rik’s Cafe in Hagerstown Md. and it was such an excellent experience from the moment we walked in the door.The staff was friendly and really seemed to enjoy their work. The drinks were fresh and timely every round.The appetizers were a perfect start. We had the Jalapeño Popper and it was not your average “stuffed” popper. It came with flavorful spicy chips and the sauce was on point. The pretzel crab dip did not disappoint.I missed out on trying a salad and certainly will when I go back.The menu really does have something for everyone from sandwiches to an out of this world fresh jerk spiced grouper that seriously melted in my mouth.Thank you to the owner Rick for stopping by just to check in on our experience and share a few quick laughs.

Stopped for lunch because of the reviews while traveling from Florida. Reviews did not disappoint!Sat at bar & immediately noticed cleanliness & super warm welcome from our bartender Cam & the owner Rik. Food & service were outstanding! Would highly recommend & look forward to our next visit!

Tried Riks based off a Google search and reviews. It did NOT disappoint. Food was excellent. Was out in a timely manner. Plated beautifully. Service was on point. Would love to go back if we ever visit Hagerstown again. Well done!

When you take a bite of the bison burger, it bites back. Its got a little kick to it. It was good. Server was very attractive with good service. Foid came out fasr and hot.

My husband and I had a very delicious meal here last night. On our ticket the waiter’s name said Flash Gordon. I think he’s the most attentive and polite waiter we have ever had. He represented the restaurant very well, made recommendations as to his favorite menu items that we took. We were pleased with his recommendations. We will definitely be back.

I feel a little shocked by all these great reviews. My experience must be unusual.Just left the restaurant. Walked in at 2:23. The young man (thin, glasses, dark hair and a black shirtwho was hosting never greeted me and just stared at me. So I waited for him to ask me what I needed. He finally says “are you waiting for someone”? I said “No, I was waiting to be greeted by you”. He just says “oh” and continues starting lol.So I say “party of one” please. I am from out of town and just driving through. He seats me at the bar where I wait for 8 mins for someone to come and take a drink order at the very minimum and it never happens. I got up and left.The restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of people working. I may have been more patient but the weird encounter with the host had already annoyed me.I hope people continue having good encounters, though.

Wont be back. Liked to eat here when visiting the area as food good. Bad experience last time here. Sit down and customers that got there after me were waited on first. I asked the hostess who the server was, she gave me an attitude, pointed to a server and said her. I said she hadnt come over and she said well shes busy. Nice attitude. I later heard it was her next to last week and she obviously didnt care. The server was nice but spent a lot of time socializing with friends at other tables.I told her about interaction with hostess and she said would tell manager but he was spending time with friends and I guess she didnt want to interrupt him. I later saw him sitting at the bar socializing with more friends and I waited for them to stop talking before I asked to speak with him. He acted like I was rude or inconveniencing him. He apologized and said would make up for next visit. He did nothing to make it right that visit. I wont be back.

Oh Wow! Hubby and I had a great meal!I had the Ariks crab cake grilled cheese with sweet potato fries (with apple butter (whhhhat?!)Omg that was so good! I had never thought of apple butter as a dipping sauce! I also had an apple cider Manhattan (that was super good too!)Hubby had the Reuben with Sourdough instead of marble Rye (I had a bite of it too!Omg that was delicious!Our server (Brian...Im pretty suresuper nice and knowledgeable.The only thing I thought was a bit weird was when I was waiting for the bathroom (the person who came out was a man, who worked there). Thats kind of weird.Overall great time tho! We will be back!

We have always been happy when choosing Riks when friends/family visit or were feeling like something a little more upscale, but dont want to travel far. Seating has not been an issue, but always a good idea to call ahead on Fridays and Saturdays. Drinks have been good too.

Great food and service! The outside does not reflect the great experience you will have. Ive been several times and each meal has even delicious. I had the steak this time and it was cooked perfectly. They made sure I got it the way I wanted. My first time ordering medium well (usually get wellbut now not my last! Oh and there"s a full bar! Drinks are great!The staff was great and Rik, the owner, is always working to make sure his customers are happy. Thanks again for the terrific experience! Will definitely be back!Cindy

Honestly, wife and I were pretty disappointed with the way our food tasted. It looked great but that was about it. My mussels tasted fishy and didnt have the flavor of the dish. Her ribeye sub was over cooked and dry. We have had some good food from Riks Cafe but tonight was not it for the price.

What a wonderful experience! We were on the interstate and found the restaurant and called ahead to get reservations. They were able to get us in. To our delight the meal was fabulous! I had the veggie wrap and my husband had the crab grilled cheese. So exciting to find a restaurant that has delicious vegetarian options. But every meal that came out around us looked so good. The staff was happy & friendly. I felt like a regular patron of the restaurant. I will make sure when I drive that way again I stop at this restaurant!

Hello all! Today we have TWO wonderful Specials! Firstly, on the upper, we have a Shrimp and Chorizo Stuffed Filet over Mash and Fried Brussels with a Cheese Sauce, Crispy Tortillas, and Mango Salsa! Secondly, on the lower right, we have a Petite Filet with a Crab and Orange Roughy Cake with a Lemon Cream over Jasmine Rice and Sautéed Brussels! Cheers!

Came to Riks on the recommendation of the owners of the Elmwood Farm B&B. Glad we did.Everyone on staff were friendly and eager to serve, ensuring a pleasant experience.Great cocktail selection - I had the Dirty Local martini. Delicious.We split the Salmon Carpaccio. Wonderful balance of flavors, and yes that includes the arugula and spiced pita chips.Then I ordered the Epic Crab Grilled cheese, truly an epic sandwich. Wife had the Blackened Mahi Tacos, also delicious.Desserts were tempting and we gave in to said temptation with the peanut butter cake.Wonderful meal.Yes, gem of a place in a strip shopping area. Never judge a book by its cover, or location in this case.

Traveling through and we used Google reviews to give this place a try. WOW...this place has great...great food and awesome service. Even the owner Rik is great and had some great conversations about running (which my oldest interested in).I had a Italian Club sandwich (in picwhich had a little kick and was AMAZING along with house fries...mmmmm!! Highly recommend!!Thank you all and we hope to make this one of our stops on our trips to WV.

I love Rik’s Cafe! It’s really nice to frequent a restaurant where the waitstaff are always smiling and personable and the food is tasty! I just recently moved to Hagerstown and I’m enjoying trying new places to eat, and Rik’s is becoming a regular go-to! The menu is ample with lots of assorted selections and the food tastes so fresh! It feels like a lot of love and care is put into every dish! My friend and I had the Black Bean burger with hand-cut fries and it was delicious! I had the Cobb Salad prior and it was awesome! I plan on eating my way through the menu because everything looks so good! 🤩

On Saturday my husband and I went to dinner at Riks. We have really enjoyed there food and specials they have every day. I got the scallops and unfortunately I bit into a big piece of shell. When I let the waiter and the manager know neither one of them were apologetic and did absolutely nothing about. The manager looked annoyed and didn’t even care but she took the piece of shell and said she’d show the chef. Just because you take the shell doesn’t make it okay. You did not apologize or try to make the situation better. It was terrible customer service and it sucks cause I have really enjoyed the food. But after this I’ll never return!!!

Great restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise. Located in a strip mall. The front of the building is pretty plain. Inside is well done with a very large bar. Great selection of beers and wine. Great menu selections. I tried the braised beef ribs. They were very good. Service was also very friendly and good. I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was great as well as the service. First time here because of the Google guides saying I need to try this place and it was fantastic. So good to know a place is going to be good ahead of your visit. I will definitely be back to enjoy this place again in the future. Dont worry about trying Riks Cafe for a great meal.

I took a friend out for her birthday today, and out of a large number of choices in Hagerstown, she vehemently chose Riks Cafe. She told me the food was good and boy was she right. I had the Reuben sandwich which as you can see from the photos was HUGE. My friend had the Smoked Chipolte Pasta which was large portioned as well and equally delicious. For birthday dessert, my friend had the Lemon Cake which was out of this world. After the meal, Rik came by for a short conversation, asking how our meal was. We had Kelsie as our waitress and she was the BOMB ! I saw other restaurants nearby, but am so glad I went to Riks and as a foodie, would definitely go back again. All staff were following recommended safety practices and customers were socially distanced. If you want a safe place to eat as we transition back to normalcy, and a great place to eat with lots of food and menu choices, beverages, and desserts, then Riks Cafe is a winner.

The waitress was amazingly wonderful. The food was everything. The ambiance is cozy but cute. I live that the manager went around checking on each table. Will definitely go back.

Never a disappointment, always a great meal in a warm welcoming environment! Rik is always providing a welcome at some time during the meal and welcomes special requests. Just a super place! Our favorite in Hagerstown.

I’ve been told for a while now this is a place you must visit for good food and I wasn’t disappointed. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere had a nice contemporary vibe to it. I ended up getting the Burger Cubano which was very tasty. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend this place as a place to stop for food.

An absolutely amazing restaurant...you know it has to be Riks Cafe! Tonight we were here to celebrate my sisters upcoming birthday, it is an excellent place to have celebrations of any kind, date nights, or even soothing dinning. In my opinion, John Zimmerman has to be one of the BEST of the BEST waiters in there, if you want epic service go to Rik’s Cafe and request him, he is fun to be around and very adaptive to his environment, 10/10! I ordered the Winter Roasted Quinoa Salad and despite its name I can only describe it as taking a bite into a cool, golden, summer day! It’s filled with flavors and while eating it you feel light, but full and definitely satisfied to the brim. Rik’s Cafe recently revamped their menu so whether you’ve never been, or it’s been awhile, head over and take advantage of the epic prices, epic service, and absolutely epic, over the top food!

Driving from CT to WV and we were ready to take a dinner break. A quick search of Best Restaurants quickly led us to Riks. My girlfriend rolled her eyes upon arrival because as noted the exterior is nothing to look at in an old strip mall next to a liquor store but what a warm welcoming environment when you step inside! Staff was wonderful. Let me tell you, this Rik fella can make a meal too! Chipotle chicken and pasta, the broiler special, burrata salad, and dessert were excellent!

Have heard a lot about this little restaurant in the south end of Hagerstown tonight was our first visit , food was delicious freshly prepared. service was outstanding the waiters and waitresses could not do enough to make you happy. The owner of the restaurant was Rick he came to our table and greeted us gave us a little background on him and his business. The chef brought out a sample to our table, black truffle risotto it was outstanding ! Cannot wait to go back again so many wonderous things to try! I would recommend this restaurant and I feel that if you try their food you will not be disappointed great food great service! PS the price is very reasonable the food quality is above normal for this area!

Very good place to eat, it’s kind of hidden In a small shopping center. Service was friendly and quick, didn’t forget anything and ever had to ask. Crab pretzel for starters, Chesapeake chicken/crab/rice/asparagus, and blueberry Oreo cheesecake all were amazing.
