Rigos Cafe in Texas City

This place has literally been around the corner from my house for a while. Why am I just now finding out about it? This would’ve saved me and my husband so many “where do you want to eat?”debates. Their staff was just a tad bit slow but I don’t know if that’s because they may be short staff? But they were very friendly and the food was just so delicious! This place will definitely become our go to spot.

1st time here.I had the chicken fried steak breakfast and it was tasty, only the meat inside it was very thin and many bites had very little meat in them. I mentioned it to the waitress and her response was that they pound it down. Hash browns, eggs, etc were all excellent. I will try this place again, just not that meal.

The burrito was very filling. It was pretty good.

I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious! It cost $6.75 and it was more than I could eat. Very nice people!

Decent diner, most of the menu isn’t inventive but made well. It is worth the trip and we will be back.

Very simple welcoming breakfast place. The best breakfast place Ive been too since moving here. Prices are very affordable. I got a very large breakfast burrito for 7 bucks. Cant beat it.

Old style restaurant/diner vib3 (in a good way). Great service and a full menu. Breakfast is served all the time and I had the huevos divorciados. So good.

This is the sweetest place! The food is fantastic and the portions are appropriately Texas sized. It seems like the place where everyone meets. The prices are good and they have something for every sized pocketbook. We will make it a regular place to go.

A very nice mom and pop Cafe. Their food was absolutely delicious! And it felt of comfort and love when we sat inside and ate.

We were there for breakfast this morning. Would not recommend. The waitress never checked on us and I had to go to the counter every time we needed something. For instance, ketchup for the chicken strips. I ordered the 1,2 and 3 breakfast. There was hair cooked into my bacon. I called the waitress over and asked if I could just get what was on the plate replaced bc of the hair. She said no. Keep it and well replace the bacon. SHE LEFT THE HAIRY BACON WITH ME..I had to move it to a napkin bc it was gross. She brought new bacon but never wanted to take the other bacon back. Additionally, they are over priced. We ordered a biscuit it was $3 by itself and it was your average small biscuit.

This place is a nice hidden gem. Nice morning place to go to and eat. Is open from 7am to 2 pm. They serve breakfast and lunch.

Ive never been here before. What a great find! Country cooking mixed with Hispanic flavors is such a great combination. I absolutely love that they serve breakfast all day too.

Claudia is an excellent waitress (and, a future excellent nurse)! The food is delicious and authentic. Reminds me of Chopes in La Mesa in New Mexico!!

Absolute best food and service around!

Well to start with this was my first time there and it was great, the service was great very friendly and helpful staff and the food was great also.An update, last time we were there was on a weekday, service was not good the server was complaining about all the customers there. The food for some reason was not that good is time. Maybe the weekend staff has it together. Well try once more maybe it was a bad day for them.

I concur w/ published comments, staff was friendly, accommodating and talkative. Being the 1st time DEFINITELY will return, portions (bfastwas large and authentic-TexMex. We love Rigos. As locals, it’s our favorite place to eat breakfast on a Saturday. The pancakes are huge and delicious. You can’t beat the price and they always have great service.

I do not recommend. How can you serve a bad breakfast? It’s the easiest meal to prepare. Eggs over easy were so runny they would not stay on a fork. I really like to support small business but I didn’t have a good experience.

This hidden gem is the best breakfast place in Texas City. We go here almost weekly and the food is consistently amazing. I am gluten free and they are so good to me. They don’t charge extra to change menu items and are extremely friendly. This is a must visit place!

Great variety, full menu is served during business hours. The food is good and reasonably priced for portion given also the service is fast and friendly. All around a great place would definitely recommend.

Great breakfast place! The service was outstanding and the food came out quick. I got The Volcano (picturedand it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

I went in expecting the average diner experience, and was absolutely blown away. The decor is what youd expect from a family owned Cafe, comfortable and welcoming. Service was prompt and attentive. Our order came out within 20 minutes despite a rather full dining room, and the quality of the food was unbelievable. Everything was completely homemade, down to the fried tortilla taco shells. If youre looking for a great breakfast, tex-mex, or even a steak, definitely consider Rigos first.

So far I have been here twice and I gotta say it is way too good. Iv lived here for at least 12 years and Iv always wondered if this place was any good, now I know it is and if I had the money I would come here everyday. I hade the chicken club sandwich (grilledand the other day I had berries n creme French toast. Best breakfast ever.

I love this place! Its a seat yourself Cafe, and they are quick and friendly. The food is great. I love their hashbrown with white gravy and peppers! It was delicious! They also have French toast with berries and cream! Oh, so delicious! An amazing home cook feeling and taste and pretty good prices in my opinion! Definitely recommend!

Great service! Short wait. Ive only ever gotten their breakfast and its delicious. They have a Mickey pancake for the kids!

We came in on Carne Gusada day and choose 2 sandwiches, a Ruben and a club sandwich. We ordered the club with no ham and extra turkey. Well it didnt come that way so had to send it back. They brought back the new sandwich and it was lacking mayo.Now on to my Ruben the pastrami was cut on the wrong bias and the meat was tuff. Very tuff.Next time Carne Gusada for us.

Food and service is good, ive been here twice. I think the quality of the food depends on what you order as they seem to have a very varied menu.

Best thing we had out of all the variety we ordered was their French toast. I had black stuff in my orange juice and asked for a new one and never got it. Drink order took forever. And not once did anyone come by to ask if we wanted refills.

Wow... Everything was awesome. We where here for our anniversary. Live 3 1/2 hours away. We ate breakfast. Had the burrito. Was amazing. Coffee great and fresh. Service super nice and fast. Even was busy and ran smooth. Was a great experience. This is a must visit!!!

Love this sweet old building! It gets better inside with smooth good coffee and wonderful burritos. I like the sausage gravy as well. Next visit a jumbo pancake! They looked delicious! Great service, friendly folks. Thank you!

Easy parking small cozy family atmosphere Service was quick and friendly we ordered our meal but when it came it was incorrect we had to switch our eggs from one plate to another. My friend’s biscuit was flat and hard. My hash browns were half undercooked and half burnt. The menu has a large selection we may give them another shot!

Family friendly, small and cozy, great food! Service was slightly slow, but that was a fluke I believe, the waitress was extremely busy so Im thinking they may have been short staffed that day. Definitely worth another shot, maybe several!

There food is generally greatWe went on Tuesday there special was Tacos rice n beans. I didnt care for the taste of the meat and there beans had a Funny taste like there were going sour. All the other times the food is wonderful.

First time visit, after a suggestion from my grandmother. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Was nice and quiet. Staff was timid, but it was at the end of breakfast rush, so no sweat. My two boys had never experienced such a close atmosphere, growing up mostly in Houston, and they even expressed how nice the cafe was. Will be dining again soon, probably on our bikes again as well. 😉👍

Very good menu! Great service ! Would have given 5 stars had not my wifes pork chops been real chops with a small bone! These were pork steaks instead & were nothing but battered bone! Very deceptive! Spoke to the waitress & she said that is what the owner says & she wasnt going to tell him! My meal was really good but my wife had to cut around large bones to get any meat off them! A little pricey for lunch special with that in mind!

A good place for breakfast and a wide variety of menu items. Customer service is excellent.
