Rigneys Farm - in Sionainn, Ireland
Rigneys Farm in Sionainn
Description
We were so happy to be able to visit Rigneys Farm again! Our first visit was in 2015, and we had such fond memories we wanted to come back. Carolines food is amazing, and we chatted with locals who go out to the farm to buy their sausages and such. It was great to see their pork business had grown and was thriving! Feeding the animals is always fun for us city types, and Joe and Caroline open their lives up allowing us to learn so much. There are lots of pubs and restaurants near by in Adare, and we also enjoyed exploring the Curragh Chase Forest Park right around the corner. Irish people are so dang friendly, we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
MoreMake sure to call to book. The website is glitchy with inquiries.
Place to stay filled with positive vibes. Natural world surroundings giving exceptional experience of getting relaxed and calmed.
MoreMy husband and I recently enjoyed our first trip to Ireland and very thankfully Rigneys Farm was part of our very memorable trip! What was important to us was experiencing the lifestyle and Caroline took the time with us to make that possible. With a very delicious homemade full Irish breakfasts each morning (Gf options too! ), a chance to visit with her while feeding the animals, enjoying the peace and serenity on the property, super comphy bed, and a nice cozy fire in the living room while we sipped tea and ate probably the best gf cookies ever...smiles on our faces the whole time.
MoreWhat a wonderful and memorable stay we had at Rigney’s Farm. Caroline was simply amazing!! Her meals and snacks we’re homemade and delicious. Being able to help with feeding the animals was fun, and they are so funny. My wife and I will return. Great location to take a day trip out or just relax by the fire.
MoreIf you like a quiet place go for it.
great place
The Rigneys are fantastic hosts. A place to escape and enjoy Ireland away from the touristy trappings. Close to Adare for food, shopping and sights.
MoreWe had a wonderful time in Rigneys farm this summer. It is a beautiful house in the best environment surrounded by forest and marvelous nature. Our children loved to play with the animals and we all enjoyed and feel a bit of farm life. The rooms are spacious and very clean. A real pleasure to wake up every morning with nothing but the sound of birds. Caroline and Joe always made us feel like home and helped us with recommendations on what to visit or where to dine. Last but not least, breakfast is simply excellent! We will come back for sure.
MoreCaroline is a wonderful ambassador for real Irish food selling direct from her farm.
MoreCaroline and Joe made us feel like part if the family. We spent a week traveling around Ireland, and whenever someone asks for highlights, our three kids all say "The Farm!" The kids got to feed the pigs, corral some cows, argue with a goose, and enjoy the freshest breakfast weve ever had. Caroline gave us great recommendations for local attractions. I read some of the other comments, particularly about cleanliness, and nothing could be further from what we experienced. The whole house from top to bottom was immaculate and comfortable.

great farm lovely animals
Lovely Irish organic farm.
Friendly, well run. Very kind and welcoming.
Super spot. Farm is wonderful and they have an amazing attitude to everything they produce. Caroline is a wonderful host and the proximity to Curraghchase cant be down-played.
MoreLovely people. Great food.
In June of 2016 I travelled to Limerick to stay at Rigneys Farm and it was absolutely sublime. Caroline made me feel at home with tea and delicious homemade bread. I slept in the Oak Room, which was cozy and beautifully decorated with a view of the sheep that live in the front yard. Breakfast consisted of the best bacon I have ever had along with eggs from their chickens and Carolines gorgeous bread. Curraghchase Forest Park is within walking distance, which is a spectacular forest complete with ancient yew trees and endless trails. Caroline made sure I could find my way around and even drove me into town and arranged for me to rent a bike. She and Joe graciously offered what I have come to know as classic Irish hospitality and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. This little farm/B&B is a treasure. And by the way, Joe built that beautiful house by himself!
MoreI stayed here recently with my three children and had a nightmare stay. Just like a Stephen King thriller. Farm was unsafe for children and adults alike with live electric fences lying on the ground. My 5 year old son almost got run over by a careless neighbour who drove into and out of the farm yard with no regard for children. Egg collection did not happen and there was no farm tour so I feel very misled by the entire experience. House was sticky and dirty everywhere. Just awful start to finish. Fortunately we left after one night. Would only be recommending it for a visit for health and safety inspection by HIQUA and ISPCC personnel.
MoreDo not believe a word of what is promised on this farms website. In short, its truly awful. The farm is a death trap and dirty. Just plain dirty. Their close up pictures on their website is a dead giveaway. The house is dirty, dusty and freezing. The promise of collecting eggs, a warm fire is just one big carrot being dangled infront on unsuspecting internet customers. Please avoid. The owners cant handle criticism, to say the least. Really, just dont bother. Disgusting place!
MoreOur rooms were quite comfortable, and the Oak Room bathroom was great. Tea with scones was a nice treat when we arrived, and breakfast in the morning was very good. Our toddler loved feeding the animals in the morning, in particular the ducks and the newborn piglets. We would certainly come back next time we are in the area. Thanks Caroline and Joe!
MoreGreat quality pork and lovely owners
