Rico's Acai in Charlotte
Description
Privilege
Best Acai in the city. Made near perfection every time. The only complaint that I have with every Acai place is that its a bit too expensive. It doesnt stop me from going but if it was about $3 cheaper per bowl then theyd be unstoppable
MoreThe bowls were delicious! Super fresh and filling.
Update: Ricos has had the large bowl the past few times Ive been. Im happy.Original: I like Ricos, and go there fairly often, but I have noticed several times... months apart... where you dont have large bowls. Like you force people to buy a small because you dont have plastic bowls. The cynical part of me thinks youre just trying to maximize your profit margins. Regardless, you have lost some of my business on a few occasions because of it. How hard is it to find/buy a few months supply of disposable plastic bowls?
MorePros: friendly customer service.Cons: the "classic" bowl was mostly sliced bananas and cheap-y granola. Very little açaí, you can barely taste it. I was willing to pay the hefty price if it were truly an açaí bowl, but for what you get, its not worth the $9. Sorry, Ricos.I had the Brazil "classic" bowl at the Pecan location. This is also coming from a Brazilian and Ive had my share of açaí bowls back home.
MoreZyona was great! She was patient and provided excellent service! Thanks again your superb service!
MoreWaited 15 mins for two bowls. Paid nearly $12 for a medium and it’s 90% granola, peanut butter and bananas. Can’t taste the Açaí, total waste of money.
MoreYUM! Got the Rainbow bowl — it’s their best seller, and I’m not surprised. So generous with the fresh fruit. Will be back!
MoreI enjoyed the rainbow bowl, it was very fresh and tasty! 😋 I will be a returning customer.
MoreI Was there 2days ago and Our, Açaí bowls me and my family had FABULOSO CLEANING PRODUCT IN IT IS WAS TERRIBLE THATS THE WORST THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO US, never expected that but I’m not surprise. Feeling sick!!!!!!!
MoreThis place never seems to disappoint me. The last time I was in NC I googled acai bowl and found their little hidden truck and it was great then and its still great now. Their acai bowls lack nothing! Beyond delicious, but; you dont have to take my word for it. More for me I always say🤤
MoreI love their Açaí bowls! The butterbro bowl is my favorite. I like that they don’t blend the Açaí into a smoothie-like texture, but leave it kind of frozen. It doesn’t get “soupy” quickly and the granola holds it crunch longer. They also have a fruit bowl option w/o the Açaí, which is also very good.
MoreI ordered three acai bowls and lets just say all I received was a bowl of fruit. I cant even enjoy the bowl because theres no acai, very disappointed.
MoreI love this place, the fruit bowls are really good...
See photos. This bowl was not fresh and has some weird thing in the bottom. It looked to be prepared long ago and then frozen and taken out of freezer and sent for delivery. Gross. It had something that had frozen in the bottom - but it wasn’t water. It was of a plastic consistency.Worst thing is I tried to contact the store - left a message on voicemail AND emailed them. Never heard anything back. So hence this review.
MoreRicos is great! They have a perfect ratio of fruits to acai that doesnt leave you with a bowl full of melted acai soup
MoreOne of the BEST spots for acai bowls! I haven’t had any quite like theirs.
$14 for a medium “fruit bowl” yet only 1 inch of the bowl was fruit, the rest was granola and peanut butter, and the Acai looked liked someone made a home smoothie, put the leftover in their freezer uncovered and got all icy and dry. It didn’t taste bad but honestly because there wasn’t enough to taste it over the peanut butter. I tried to justify the price by saying it’s fresh fruit which isn’t cheap but then again 1 banana doesn’t cover the cost. Hard to say I’ll be back
MoreI go here a lot! They’ve super nice bowls and even better possible additions. I always add coconut oil to my bowls. My only downfalls are the prices I get it’s real fruit and real everything!!The açaí is always perfect, never delivered melted.
MoreRicos Acai was a really pleasant experience.1. The bowls are delicious! The fruit is very fresh and you feel great after eating these bowls. As others have mentioned there is not a great deal of Acai in the bowl! It tastes so good it leaves you wanting a bit more.2. They are fairly pricey. However, the fruit here is a bit more fresh than some other places in the area. I think the prices are pretty good for what you get.3. Customer service was excellent, however, we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our order to be fulfilled. They have outdoor seating so you can wait for your food or enjoy your order on nice days.
MoreAbsolutely love coming here! Awesome staff. Best acai around.
You can never go wrong with Rico’s. It took me a long time to find an açaí bowl place that is good quality and good price/taste. I came in a while ago and I just love everything about this place. Coming from the people/service to the açaí bowls. Y’all need to try the Butterbro it’s my personal favorite!!
MoreI love this place. I come every weekend. The place is calming and the service is always delightful! I definitely recommend the rainbow bowl it’s amazing and has fantastic fresh fruit. I can never get enough of Rico’s!!
MoreThe fruits are fresh but there is barely any açaí in the bowl and it’s frozen crumbly.
MoreAlways looked forward to Rainbow bowl here. Last few times has been disappointing! Very cheap with the AÇAÍ (the best part about the bowlliterally thin layer of it. Doesn’t even fill to the top like other locations. Every time I order takes about 20-30 minutes to make a bowl peeked in employees conversations and on their phones.
MoreI’ve been ordering here for over a year. So much that they knew me by my order and I’ve never had a complaint but I will say that the quality has gone down. Less Acai and I don’t like the new containers they come in. It use to be the clear bowls but last time I got a small paper cup that was not the same size. Because the cup was taller but now wider I had way less Acai in my cup compared to the clear bowls where you can spread it out evenly with the granola at the bottom. I was so sad bc I had been craving them. I understand price increase but please keep the quality the same. Also, I would appreciate getting a decent amount of coconut flakes instead of a vague sprinkle considering you pay and extra $1 for toppings.
MoreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. I included receipt and everything. I ordered the berry bowl which is advertised as having blueberries, blackberries, strawberries etc. I paid EXTRA to get mango. None of the berries were in there, only strawberries. And the mango I paid extra for is not in there either as you can see by the picture. Would NEVER order from them, do not recommend. Get Spoons instead. Absolutely disappointed to pay $20 for a bowl that has nothing of what I ordered.
MoreThey should add more Açaí on the bowl, its a little expensive and you are actually paying for the fruit it self. The bottom its only Granola! Definitely not going back.I ordered 2 large and paid $ 36.70. If it was Açaí I wouldnt complain bit that bowl if just full of fruits and Granola. I paid for a FRUIT BOWL!We are from Brazil and we truly know what an Açaí bowl should be like.Just very disappointed!Frutta Bowl does a better job....
MoreYummy acai fruit bowls. Nice outdoor seating area.
Rico’s is consistently good, and has fresh fruit. It’s easy to order through the app; they don’t take orders by phone just FYI. I love the Butter Bro bowl, but everything I’ve tried has been great!
MoreA very nice hideaway, The food looks absolutely fantastic with many healthy options that are very tasty as well. Located in a very nice up and coming area that mixes old with new buildings and renovations.
MoreRicos is my favorite place in charlotte and surrounding areas to get an acai bowl. Their fruit is always fresh and the acai puree is the best. I recommend this place to anyone wanting an acai bowl because this place is the best!
MoreLove these Acai Bowls. I travel along way to get this yummy goodness. Do yourself a favor and check them out.
MoreScrumptious and fresh! The staff was so friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions. The fruit was so incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. Im so glad there are so many locations. My one suggestion would be to add more acai to the bowl, since I wanted a bit more and felt that the ratio of acai to fruit was unbalanced. The granola mixture was sooooo good. The sweetness level and crunch definitely stuck out.
MoreDefinitely an awesome go to meal!! I typically get the BUTTER BRO BOWL. I once got the BRAZIL BOWL by accident and it was still good. I just added some peanut butter to it. The ordering process is super smooth and I loooove that!!The only negative I have is that sometimes the large is still a medium(regular). Its like they only fill it part ways sometimes which basically is a waste of your money. Next time I am going to look at it before I leave. Im not much of a complainer but I typically can eat it for 2 meals WHEN its actually a large size as advertised on the website.
MoreThe worst açaí I’ve ever had! It is a crumbly, freezer burnt mesh at the bottom of subpar granola. Save your money!
MoreRicos is honestly so good. I used to work at the 7th Street location and the company treats their employees well. With that being said, I also know how these bowls are supposed to be made. My location prided itself on filling the acai bowls completely to the top of the lid, as they are not the cheapest things to buy. Ive never had an issue with getting incomplete bowls from any location except the plaza midwood one. They inconsistently fill their bowls and frequently short customers on ingredients. I have called the location, offered feedback, and Im frequently dismissed. Today was the last straw for me as one bowl I got was a little lower than normal and one was maybe halfway filled. Having two bowls in the same order look that different, is not ok. Again, Im a former worker and I want others to know this is not what you should be getting for a $12 bowl
MoreYES! Finally a fresh acai place. I have missed these since I lived in Southern California and this place brings back all the memories of San Diego. The fruit on top is always fresh and I like the granola. Will definitely be back for my summer fix.
MoreIm Brazilian and Im shammed about this place. You pay for açaí but you get just bananas, granola and an unflavored cold crumble they call açaí. If youre a Brazilian, please dont blow your money.
MoreThe acai bowls are too small for the price. You have more fruit ( which was delicious and freshthan acai. Their are three sizes at this location: mini, small, and large. The pictures below are examples of a small bowl which was $11+ tax. Customer service is 5 stars though.
MoreCame to the pecan road location where I ordered two bowls....and waited over 20 minutes outside in the heat. Thereis no reason it should have taken so long. I will never return to a place with such bad customer service.
MoreMy children and I visited one friday .And we go every other fridays.I talk about them to my friends and take them to get one.My favorite is the Rainbow Bowl ,sweet coconut, add some nutella and u r n pure enjoyment. Stop bye and get u one.U will return. And the price is well worth it.Enjoy a bowl to yourself or share with someone.
MoreAlthough delicious, there is a Brazil option that is nowhere near the Brazilian real. I recommend researching some Brazilian recipes and I was in charge of recommending to all the Brazilian community and I guarantee that it will be a success. It is a rare product in Charlotte that many Brazilians like. Congratulations is delicious and I give 4 stars just for not having a really Brazilian option.
MoreCustomer service is excellent. They know my husband and I by name.. that says a lot about them and how much we love it. The fruit is fresh and pretty consistent in size and taste. My bowl is always filled to the top. When I order on line it always ready for me when I pull up. This location is my favorite. Parking is great and they even have a bench if you want to sit outside. I love it. I tell everyone to go try it. I hope the employees never change...lolol. Rainbow bowl is great and the Berry bowl with no banana is what I get for less sugar and healthier bowl.. the banana and pineapple will sneak up on me and never let go..lol
MoreOrdered online at 10:45am, only one person was working and the 3 small rainbow bowls I ordered were rushed and not full. On the online ordering system it ask for request and I asked to have the bowls bagged separately. When I got there the lady asked if I wanted a bag?Just wished it was more help on staff during lunch hour? Wish bowls were fixed like the picture showed. It would have been worth the drive, a bit disappointed.😪Sarah S.
MoreGreat meal anytime of day! Staff is friendly and helpful and the variations on a bowl are endless!
MoreReally delicious. Cant get enough. Best Acai bowl Ive ever had
Awesome way to get those superfood vitamins every day. My daughter and I are completely addicted. And the small really is big enough to satisfy - sometimes, for me, it’s dinner. The Plaza Midwood location is directly on my way home from work - so convenient. I use the app to order before I leave work, and when I arrive it’s just a simple pick-up from the window. And I don’t know how they do it but the fruit is always perfectly ripe and delicious. (I particularly appreciate that there are never any mushy blueberries, my nemesis! We love Rico’s!
MoreAwesome fruit bowls! I always add honey to mine.
I have tried Rico’s Acai at some of the other locations but my experience at this location was below average to say the least. No complaints with the customer service except it took almost 15+ minuets to them to make 2 bowls. I was very disappointed in the quality of the bowl. It felt like I was eating frozen acai with a banana and thats it. Some of the other places makes really good layers of acai, bananas, granola etc. I will give them another chance and hope to see some improvements.
MoreIf you haven’t tried their Açaí fruit bowl you are missing out!!! They have several different combinations of fruit granola and other delicious things. I know they have several locations but this location is going to a brick and mortar and won’t be out of the food truck once they get the Renovations done at this location. The food truck will continue to be here until the building is completely ready.
