Rice Bowl Take-Out in Moncton

Called at Noon as their official website online advertized they were open as soon as you entered the site as does Google Searchs. Apparently theyre only open at 3pm now on MondaysWhat i got was an irritated woman answering the phone mad because i called to order food. Great food but honestly their service is sub standard.Saigon House was my next callThey were more then happy to take an order and polite to.Its a shame i loved supporting Ricebowl since i was in school.That said its declined nearly every year since 2015 ive noticed.Its like they cant get people to work there because the demand would always be there as one of the oldest Chinese Resturants in MonctonGive Ricebowl a new Manager letting to old one retire and make Ricebowl into the powerhouse it could be in the world of SkipTheDishes and Door Dash theres no reason theyre not make money hand over fist.Time to choose a successorOr else like Diamond it will just dissapear

Scammers, all the good reviews are probably made by the owners. We did a late night order, ordered fried rice chicken and fried rice shrimp and shrimp chow mein, they charged like $50 - no receipt was given. The chicken smelled horrible and was thrown in the trash, the chow mein was only bean sprouts - no noodles, the fried rice shrimp was the only thing that was edible but ofcourse there was hardly any shrimp. I don’t know how this place is still running, probably because tourist likes us who will never go back. By the time we opened our dinner, it was already late or else we would’ve taken it back to the restaurant. Tourists should def avoid this place, what a horrible experience!

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover never applied more to a place. This mom and pop run Chinese food restaurant is excellent. My parents have been going to this restaurant for the last 30 years and I swear by them. The portions are generous and the quality of the food is great. Plus, the owners are an absolute joy. They remembered me from 20 years ago when I moved back and started going to their place again. The moo goo guy pan special is my forever go-to🤤

The chicken balls tasted reheated, the rice is dry and tastes older, the egg roll was ok and overall the food wasnt cooked terribly but it wasnt fresh either.The lady was decently nice but the man was quite passive aggressive.There was also a language barrier but thats nothing against them or this rating; overall the restaraunt just needs more fresh ingredients and a bit of patience for takeout customers. Not awful food but not like other restaraunts in town.

Today was the first time I had Chinese food from this place and I have to say it was amazing. Price was good and large portions of food. Id recommend to anyone who likes Chinese food. I know I will order again.

Probably the worst take out Ive ever had. Chicken tasted like it was cooked days ago. Chicken balls and shrimp were nothing but stale batter.

Large portions, but the chicken balls were dry, as in old or over nuked. I know chicken balls are not Chinese, but Ive never had a chinese restaurant miss them. Too many other places to roll the dice here again.

I always loved going to the Rice Bowl and i usually buy extra food to last for a few days. I have been going there for years now and cant wait to go back again.

Been eating there since I was a child, I use to love the decor, all the lanterns. Went with my parents, and with my own child when he was younger. We always order take out now from here all though there are many chinese food restaurants available now.

My gf and my favorite place to order chinese, the lady is so sweet and nice, plus the food tastes good too! Not too expensive either~

I love this place. I have been going here since I was a young child. They staff have always welcomed me in and remember me from coming in as a kid. I love coming here. One of my favorite places in in Moncton to eat because it they make me feel like Im coming home to eat.

I get the same thing everytime, a #2 combo, so I cannot speak for other menu items. Its great at an affordable price and have never had a complaint about it. Also they are always quick and friendly with me.

Went first thing in the morning to bring my mother some chinese food in alma. Great service in store but terrible chinese food. Chicken balls were soooooo tough, rice was chopped up like quinoa and tasted reheated several times. No fortune cookie and the chow mein was flavorless. Just goto Phoenix

Ricebowl has been my favourite Chinese(north american stylerestaurant since 2004. Today special #1 with 3 extra egg rolls...an your set! More then enough food for 2 hungry people!

Twice now I went there and the rice smells and tastes burnt. I shoulda learn my lesson the first time. Ill give the second start because the chicken ball order is very generous. Big container of sauce as well.

Ive lived in Moncton for over 30 years, and their food has never dissapointed me. You can usually get 2 meals out of one "serving". Theyre huge.

The food is good and the price is fair, however always go in to get your food, dont use delivery. Everytime i go there personally the food is perfect and consistent

Ordered a meal for two last night and as always it was amazing. There sometimes is a communication error when calling due to language barriers but thats hardly a problem. The older woman taking calls is always a pleasure and whenever Ive gotten my food its been hot and consistent everytime. I highly recommend this place is your looking to feast on unhealthy foods for a change. Its been here on Moncton for practically ever and I understand why. The owner of this place deserves kudos.

inconsistent hours leave customers annoyed .if youre open until 11pm that doesnt mean close at 9pm.its great food but the service has gone down hill the last 12-14 months .

I have been getting food from here for decades now. Although the place is old, and tiny, the food is always great.

Giving them a 1 star is being very generous, me and a few friends decided to order delivery while we were watching the hockey game, the guy quoted us a price on every thing we thought it was great so ordered up a bunch of food, waited much much longer then we were told, called him verified the address said it wouldn’t be much longer, like 30 mins later the delivery company called and said he could not deliver to us and they gave him the wrong address, when I called the restaurant to ask what was going on he just started yelling into the phone, was extremely ignorant, then just slammed the phone down, like we were trying to order $100 worth of food, and meanwhile it was passed 10 so no where’s else was open and we waited 2 hours for nothing, would not recommend this place even if you were dying of hunger

Please dont buy anything here unless you want to get food poisoned. I bought a special that had chicken wings, rice and egg roll. The chicken wings were looking stale and half cooked. The rice was almost impossible to eat due some weird smell. I was yelled at when I called back to get the food replaced so I ultimately hung up. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was already questioning the hygiene.

Ordered a combo 4 and dinner for 2. Took almost 2 hours to arrive by delivery and the combo was completely wrong. Missing 2 things and 1 item wasnt supposed to be there. Food was ok but Ive definitely had better. Doubt Ill ever order again.

Never has a place screwed up so many of my orders. Used to love this place since I got back to Moncton every one of my orders was wrong, and one had Staples in it. Be safe order somewhere else.

This is not the best place to look at, its hold and a little run down but say what you will about the place but you cant knock the food,,,,, the food is always really good and really good people.

I have never put in a complaint but I feel like I have to :( I feel bad cause the guy on the phone was so nice!! I couldnt even call and complain so I will on here... First off we got our food and it was very hot which was awesome but it was the only good thing. the delivery woman was rude but whatever our order came to $60 but it was fine I took a bite of a chicken ball it tasted like its been sitting in 2 year old fryer grease for over an hour the same with the egg rolls and the fried won tons so then I go for chow mean take a bite then think hmmm this isnt so bad til I tasted the chicken it didnt taste like chicken :( tried to pick around it til i realized I had a pasty soggy taste In my mouth it made me to uncomfortable. Even the sweet and sour sauce was so old it looked like jello. Im pregnant and just from the little I ate Ive been extremely sick and Im terrified I have food poisoning I usually read reviewing a see just a few bad reviews and ignore them cause there would be so many good ones but please take my advise sun-sun is the safer way to go I dont want anyone else to go threw this dont make the mistake I did!!!

This is difficult to rate and here is why. I tried this place some 20 years ago and I find this place the best chinese food available in Moncton. The restaurant could easily be seen as in disorder and not the best place to sit and eat but when looking beyond that, it taste so good. Especially their Moo-Goo-Guy-Pan.

Horrible will never order from there again! there was hair in the rice and my daughter bit into a piece of plastic in a chicken ball it was greasy and chicken balls were a saugy disgrace .

Super friendly, fast service, and delicious food served in ginormous portions that stays warm for over an hour after purchase. Each container of food was overflowing and pipping hot. My personal favorite were the egg rolls, perfectly crunchy on the outside, with the perfect blend of ingredients and spices on the inside. Would recommend! Prices were also very cheap compared to some other places around town

I am a person that likes to find the great little hole in the wall places and The Rice Bowl is one of those places.Do not judge a book by its cover, the food is good Canadiana Chinese and its plentiful at very reasonable price point.My favorite on the Mountain Road hole in the wall strip.

Not a good restaurant to eat from. The portions are large but everything tastes very greasy and there is mold on the walls of the kitchen. This place needs a health inspector because the food is very questionable and although i didnt get sick from eating it, i feared it would happen after seeing the environment it was prepared in.

It used to be the best Chinese food in town. Over the last year the quality has dropped a lot. Rice was bland and old, chicken balls were very chewy, not worth the money. The egg rolls are still decent though.

Food is cooked very fast, and is always hot, fresh, and delicious!"Wanna pop?" - youre always asked if youd like a drink with your meal and they are very friendly and attentive.Their standard plates range from $8-$11 and the portions are HUGE. I get a minimum of two meals out of it every time.I could not recommend this place enough.

The food is good. The portions are HUGE for the low prices! I always get leftovers. The inside could use some renovations to be honest. But its actually very well decorated. When I go there I always get the feeling that Im in one of those Chinese restaurants you see in the movies hahaha Honestly love it and cant get enough of it. My favorite as fast food goes. And the people there are awesome! The lady who takes the orders always makes me smile when I call in to order. And theyre always on the dot. Never missed an order with me. I miss the delivery man who always asked wannapop? (want pop?The way he said it was so cute. And they always give me an extra cookie :D The only bad reviews I read are from people who got wrong orders. I mean... I dont know if you noticed the language barrier. But maybe pay attention when they repeat your order like 3 times when you order just to make sure they got it right... Theyre hard working people doing a mighty good job. If you knew the place, youd know that.

Ordered a chicken Chow Mein... wich translates to stir-fry noodles. It came with no noodles. Its just a bowl of bean sprouts, onions and some tiny pieces of chicken. I feel robbed.

Absolutely ridiculous. I get my order and the lids on my soup must have not been on properly I go to pick up my bag and the whole bottom falls out. There goes my food all over the floor. Now any normal business restaurant owner wood remake the customers order or at least they should. But nope their response is and i quote. "You touch bag last its your fault its your fault I no remake food you get out and no come back" Really wow. I will never order from them again

My husband and I frequent there quite often. The food is great and they are so polite with us. The woman that works there is always friendly with us.
