Restaurant industry haunt for classic cocktails & late-night bites, plus live music.
Nice quiet bar..great cocktails reasonably priced.
The vibe at this bar was great. Friendly bartenders, great beverages and solid music. Would absolutely go again next time Im in Chicago.
Went in after 10:00 p.m. on a Friday evening and apparently there was karaoke that was starting at like 11:00 the space had a back room in the past that had kind of like a club environment and that was not open so that was a change that I was not aware of but overall if you want to step in and get a quick drink and sit in the booth you can do that there.
Always love this place. Cool vibes, and awesome bartenders, throw in 3 dollar old styles plus Friday night karaoke?? Cant beat it!
Great place to grab a nightcap. It was pretty quiet (since it was a Sundaybut that probably made us enjoy it more. Would have loved to explore it a bit more
Awesome, chill bar to hang at during the weekend. They have a good selection of cocktails that are extra tasty. I tried the Winthrop and El Diablo, and they were delicious. Loved the ambiance as well! They played good music, and it didn’t feel extra crowded when I went on a Saturday night.
Awesome place. Good music and delicious drinks.
We enjoyed spending a few hours at the Revel Room with a mixed age group. This was great as many places seem to cater to loosely specific age ranges. We were there on an evening when their smallish back room was open. The atmosphere was very relaxed and casual. We were able to enjoy drinks and conversation as the music volume was not overwhelming. We would definitely go back again.
Top flight outfit. Particularly for Monday industry night karaoke.
Awesome drinks and awesome people! Great spot for a date!❤️
Ive been going to Revel on and off for a few years. Its a really awesome date spot if you want to have an intimate evening with someone in a big couch. The bartender warned us about parking on Milwaukee because I guess they start ticketing and towing at 10pm. The staff is friendly and chill.
Walked in at 12:30am Sunday/Monday and was happily greeted by the staff. The vibes were super mellow but the guys behind the bar were still in to hang. Which honestly is so rare to see at any place before close. The bartenders hooked it up with the old fashioned and beer. Got to hang for a solid sec and headed out.The ambiance is 10/10. The booths they have are fantastic both in looks but also feel.Ill be back asap.
Dark interior with low lights and its great. Highly recommend ordering the old fashioned and enjoying the setting. Dont pass up this spot!
We stopped in for the nostalgia of it being the old Crocodile Lounge. Drink menu reminded me a bit of the old one. Unfortunately no personal pizza with a cocktail special anymore. But! The vibes were good, not overly packed, music great, not sure if they have food but everything else was on point.
Great service and great selection at this low- key Wicker Park gem.The place was friendly, clean & welcoming. The staff had great knowledge about the rare premium whiskey selection and were very hospital to our requests. Highly recommended to everyone who wants to have an enjoyable personable experience in a busy "party" corridor of the neighborhood.
Use to be Great place to go for drinks and old school hiphop. wish they would bring the dj element back
The staff and drinks are top notch with atmosphere that cant be beat. Stop in, youll be glad you did!
Very fun bar, great music and the cocktails were excellent!
Great cocktails. Chill ambiance. Always come here to catch up with friends.
Very cozy ambiance. Great for drinks and a chat.
Was visiting in early June from CA. Had the best time here! Anthony and Scotty were very knowledgeable and friendly and introduced us to some amazing gins. This is a bar for drinking — and expanding your drinking horizons. I tell everyone about this great bar in Chicago. I can’t wait to visit again. Boomerang!
Great small venue. Bars on either end and quick service. Looking forward to seeing another show here.
Always love a good cocktail at the Revel Room. The bartenders are legit, crowd is lax, and music is always on point. Been going here for 5+ years and still feels like home even though a lot of Wicker Park has been evolving.. Not complaining about the development of Wicker, but I love having the familiarity of an old school spot thats still doing its thing and doing it well
Amazing owner/host! Greeted us at the door, was SO attentive, both staff and visitors were an absolute delight. Drinks were also delicious, 10/10 will come again.
Rip Off!!!!! Make sure you keep a track of what you spend. I was overcharged 3 times within two hours. The bartender put another persons drink on my bill and then acted as if she adjusted my bills. Not at all!!! Two people (including my bartenderalso told me that my drinks were 10 each and after the bartender supposedly adjusted my bill they were suddenly 12 each. After viewing my transactions later online, I notice that nothing was adjusted and they even had the nerve to take tips.
This is a decent late night bar spot in Wicker Park. The drinks were decently priced ($9 for a rum & cokeand seemed to get more potent throughout the night, at least for me. There isnt much seating in the main space when it gets full, so my group & I had to stand near the back room of the venue, which opens at 10pm. We waited & got in to sit & chat only to discover that it doubles as a dj booth & dance floor with very, very low seating lining the walls. Good for a drink & meeting new people; not good for a serious conversation, lol.
Intimate space perfect for getting a few drinks before or after a meal. Booths are comfy and spacious. Bartenders are nice and drinks are delicious.
Small amount of space but good music the night we went, mixed crowd which I appreciate, and drinks were okay price. Sizable and clean bathrooms as well.
Came here a number of times for a number of reasons. The beer selection is solid without being spectacular, but where they really shine is their cocktails, regardless of whether theyre draft or handmade. Candle lighting and decor favors conversation as well.
This place was cute. A fun little dive with great booths. I was there early while waiting for a patio table though, so I cant speak to the scene.
Went with a group of 9. Super fun and fantastic music. A very good variety. The space is more open than other place I have been in the area so there is good space for dancing.
For some reason I didnt feel anything cool or interesting about this place. Just another bar. They seem to have pretty cheap drink options tho.
I really liked the decor and music (hip hop, funk, 80s disco stuffbut I thought the beer was expensive. But then again Im a broke student, so pretty much everything in the west/north seems expensive!
Plenty loud and plenty of drinks for a Saturday night bar hop. When our group arrived this place was Packed and hot! Not really much of any room to dance to socialize too much, people had to keep rotating through the entrance and the bar just to keep things moving along. In terms of service/atmosphere, not much different or better then any other late night party stop.
Always a good time when I go here. But usually very busy and may take a while to get a drink from the bar. Plan for a sweaty night due to all the bodies packed in there but fun nevertheless.
Good spot, but not much to distinguish itself. Its exactly what you would expect. Pros include Good beer selection and live dj. Cons include a completely packed house, long wait at the bar, super dark, and too loud to hold a conversation with someone farther than 3" from your face.
Overcrowded, hot inside, music is not great and there was absolutely no room to dance. There is no dance floor. Drinks are mostly beer and impossible to order with the noise level. Will never be going to that place again.
Great service and attention to detail! The cocktails are yum yum yum yummy and the staff is so so so so attractive. You cant help but have a good time the moment you walk in!
It was a pretty dope place but the DJ sucked... musically and didn’t seem to want to even be there....when I Tried to ask him a simple question he literally was like “nope. No.” ... I just wanted him to point me in the direction to the bathroom. Rude af.
Its a typical bar for this area: long and narrow and easily crowded. There was a line to get in on a Saturday night but we didnt wait long, maybe 5 minutes at most. The dj was decent (hip-hop with a mix of other genresand the drinks were average price. The bartenders werent the friendliest but they are fast. I wouldnt go out of my way to go here, but I would go back if I was in the area and wanted to listen to music and have a drink.
Great drinks good atmosphere. Good dance spot after 10 pm Friday and Saturday but there might be a line!
Great, cool bar with surprisingly dope music. Drinks are a bit expensive but that was fine with me because they were tasty. Plus some dancing!
Went here late at night on a Saturday. Was pretty crowded in front of bar, takes a while to get a drink. The booths are nice if you can grab one to throw your coats on. Back room has a little dance floor with a DJ. Interesting decor on the walls, and a nice little lounge in the far back with low couches and cool looking fake bookcases. It got very crowded right around midnight. If you dont mind not being able to move around it wasnt so bad. I would go back here, it was overall a nice place to meet people and have a good time.
The decor was nice, but this is not a cocktail lounge by any means. The club music does not fit the atmosphere that is trying to be perceived with the decor. Draft cocktails were too sweet and over priced. The shaken cocktails were not very good. It took me half an hour to get a drink and a long time to close out my tab.
Racist Security guard at front door (Renzo). Was picking and choosing who to let in. I noticed the people in front of me had to wait 20 min while they were picking people from line behind them to get in. While the bar was empty. The DJ would also not play requested songs. As he said his hip hop taste is better and will not be playing "trashy" music. Drinks were also very watered down. Will not be coming back.
Great cocktails and great atmosphere. Beautiful bar.
I love the Revel Room. They have a great "library" in the back - get there at 10pm if you want a seat and listen to the DJ spin. Ronnie is one of my favorite bartenders. Whenever I ask him to make something off menu he asks what your favorite profile is and what youre in the mood for, and he makes the best drinks off the top of his head. This is my favorite bar in Chicago.
We had a fundraiser here on a Sunday night and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. Ronnie (the Sunday managerwent out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He even put his own twist on our signature cocktail, which had our guests raving.
Very hipster cocktail bar adjacent to the most quintessential Wicker Park music venue. The large booths in the front beg for a group of friends and the cozy two-seaters in the back are perfect for a date night. They have an interesting selection of house cocktails with some hits and misses, try the Rum Revel. Music is a little loud so dont come sober.
Known for mostly hip/ hop and a bit of techno and remixes its not a bad place to come and dance. However, it is a bit small and the drinks are a bit expesive, but definitely worth it becasue they are surely strong. The areas to sit are for reservations only , but even those areas are highly comfortable with a big enough table for 8.
