Retro Cafe in Creston

This quaint little cafe was a wonderful find. The food was amazing! It was so flavourful. The fresh ingredients were greatly appreciated. The staff was friendly and efficient and the prices reasonable. Id definitely go back.

Cute place. Food is good. Clean. Be sure to scan all the menus on the walls before deciding what to order. I would have ordered something different had I noticed. Breakfast options look fantastic.

Great food from two lovely ladies! The breakfast was great, the excellent sausage was from the butchery across the road, and the chocolate ginger was delish too :D

Well I have to say my visit here for the first time was a surprise. I have been living here for a year and have been meaning to try it.My mom and I were out running errands and stopped by for breakfast. When we walked in, it was a delightful burst of yellow with a vintage farmhouse vibe. I was all eyes scouring the chalk board for specials and looking at all the vintage pictures and collectibles.The restaurant was packed but there were two free tables, and most of the seated tables had their food already, so we sat down. Within 10 minutes of getting there, those guests eating had paid and left, leaving 3 tables including us.we were served our coffees quickly and put in our orders.Some highlights worth mentioning is the parking in the back. The front parking lot is tiny but there is lots around back.The other delight was the gluten free options. i was able to have toast for the first time since starting keto.I got a two-egg omelette and my mom got the 2-2-2 which was 2 egg 2 bacon 2 toast. We both enjoyed our meals.So why 4 stars instead of 5? We waited 45 minutes for our meal from the time we ordered. It was worth the wait and they may have been short staffed, but we were definitely wowed by a great meal, friendly staff and a cheery atmosphere.

Defo must eat here! The owner is from France so make sure you order the crepes. We had the ham one and the chicken park sandwich which was lovely and fresh. A nice light non greasy meal

Small restaurant with good food and good prices. Each cup of coffee was made fresh. Home cooking. The owner made fresh plum Jam from her trees that paired perfectly with my multi grain toast. The young girl serving ensured everyone was served well and checking if anything needed. As early morning we did not buy or try homemade baked goods, we should have!

Delicious as usual. We try to stop here for breakfast everytime we are passing through. Worth the stop and added time to trip just for her fresh seasonal Jam beautiful eggs and hashbrowns!! So yummy !!

Omg what amazing food! The owner/chef and staff are friendly, pleasant and add to the delight of this cafe. Ingredients are fresh, deliciously put together and they are able to cater towards food sensitivities and allergies. Ill definitely be coming back as a repeat customer!

The crepes are delicious!! My kids liked the sweet ones and we enjoyed the savoury. The little cafe is cute and its pretty easy to get to as it is close to the highway. It did take longer to get the food. The ingredients are fresh.

Second time stopping here as we pass through Creston. It will now be a staple every single time we are in the area. Great food and a lovely owner, Corinne! We had some fantastic conversations with her after we enjoyed our meal. Thanks for being amazing!!

Good food, but not great. Staff friendly and place is clean.

The breakfasts here are delicious! I had the cappuccino with an omelet and it was light and fluffy. I swapped out the toast with her freshly made coissant and it was delightfully flakey. Although it was delicious on its own, she also had a wonderful homemade pear jam. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Great cafe, very friendly staff, extensive menu with options for everyone. Missed breakfast but good brunch style options on main menu. The food was fantastic!! Would highly recommend!

The food was good and the staff was very pleasant. It took awhile to get served and parking was difficult with a full size truck.

Incredibly delicious food and great atmosphere, the owner is warm and welcoming. We had Brie, pear, chicken spinach sourdough panini, cream of broccoli soup, a turkey panini, sweet potato fries and a crepe with pistachio ice cream and pear jam

Corrine provides an amazing, hospitable and delicious experience at the Retro Cafe. I love the savory crepes - the Neptune (salmonespecially! There are gluten free options available at Retro and dietary requests are well received. I am lactose intolerant and prefer not to eat bread all the time so having buckwheat crepes and subbing out dairy is appreciated! I look forward to more incredible meals here. Enjoyed the quiet, calm ambience despite being conveniently located along HWY 3. Lots of parking for larger vehicles as well at this location in the front and rear or along the highway. Ask Corrine about her adventures ;she is a well travelled and very fun person!

Excellent food and a very pleasant cozy atmosphere. We really enjoyed it. Parking is a but tight but worth the inconvenience.

Easy to miss but this family run gem is excellent! Amazing local ingredients and a great chef turns every simple dish into a epic creation. Must try the Crepe!

My friend and I from Toronto stopped here for breakfast while we were doing a road trip through Southeastern BC.The food, the service, and the rustic ambiance made this an absolutely perfect and memorable breakfast stop.The fresh peach juice was to die for btw.Rob

We just stopped for coffees and they’re terrible. My husband got a latte and it tastes sour. My just plain coffee takes like mud water. 🤢

Fantastic little cafe with wonderful staff and delicious food. Try buckwheat crepes and the plum jam!

Had to wait for my car to be fixed so i decided to go here for coffee...Two and half hours, two coffees, breakfast and a biscotte later i definitely be back. Great place:)

The food here is unbelievably good. I am going to be recommending my friends to go here if they go to Creston.The absolute highlight for me was the St. Johns poutine. It has this crazy good sweet sauce on it that had me actually thinking about it all day.Having just moved to Creston a week ago, I still dont know the hotspots for good food, but having found this place I will struggle to look further. Its been my before work breakfast stop for the past 4 days! And I will be back for sure.Dont make the mistake of just driving by.

I am very fortunate to live close to this place! The chef is fun, friendly, and food is very clearly made with love and passion. The ingredients are very fresh and clearly well thought out as anything I get here is delightful and to top it all off the service is fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful meals!

Absolutely amazing! We got savory crepes as well as a dessert one and we were blown away! Would definitely recommend coming here, its a wonderful place to eat and the ladies there were lovely.

I "REALLY " like this place! The food is fabulous and the decor is Parisienne Bistro which makes sense because the owner/cook is from 🇫🇷 France and is very friendly! Food is very tasty and very reasonably priced. For breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go! 👍👍👍👍👍😊

Super cute spot, super friendly service, super delicious food. We came as a table for 8 (4 kids 4 adultson a breakfast stop on a road trip. Great decision. Kid friendly, low key and cute atmosphere, the server/owner was very sweet. Food was excellent, simple breakfast stuff but done exceptionally: crepes, breakfast burrito, omelette. Kids very happy with the pancakes and fruit. Can’t wait to try lunch here next time we stop in Creston!

Amazing food. Quiet little place well worth the effort of finding it and stopping in. They served us lunch even though breakfast was still on for another hour too! Great customer service and would stop in again for sure on our way through.

Fresh food that uses real, fresh and some organic ingredients (if you have a problem with artificial food enhancers and chemicals or additives this is the place for you). They have real custard! great ginger cookies, crepes, soups to die for, lovely breakfasts, vegitarian choices and much more. It is a cozy, friendly, delicious, healthy place to eat. Delightful!

Great find on our visit and stay in Creston. I wish we found and tried the cafe last year. The wife and I loved our whole experience. From the neat yard to the very clean and quaint decor inside. It was the fluffiest omlette I every had and the homemade ham served with the toast was delicious. Lots of gluten free options and we took some of the gf baking home for a sister. Friendly and quick service I suspect is the norm. We will defintaley be returning.

On a bike trip. Tired and feeling groggy from eating too heavy of foods last night. Googled healthy food Creston and this came up on the list. Food was very reasonably priced and very tasty! Sat nice and light and left us feeling refreshed and ready to take on the next leg of our trip! Host was very friendly French woman and her food had a homemade touch of classic French dishes (Panini, crepes, poutines etc). She was very personable with quick service and more than willing to chat about local sites to see.

Wonderful truly home cooked with French flair by owner operator from Europe . Healthy menu and very charming staff. A tiny spot well worth stopping. Parking can be ...challenging

This is a must stop in Creston! The food is AMAZING. The owner was so accommodating to our food allergies. Can not say enough good things about this place!

Great place to check out. We stopped in quick on our journey home and grabbed a burrito and the crepes. Both delicious and the coffee was brewed fresh. Highly recommend this place!

Great simple home made food. The best hasbrown frites we have ever had. Perfectly cooked with local made jams. Cant wait to try something else.

Great amazing food. Service was ok. We were served well initially but then when we got our food no one checked in until half way through or more. Our kids wanted ketchup so waiting for the server wasnt ideal. The when we were done we wanted to try the crepes cause we heard they are amazing and no one even asked us if we wanted dessert. Price was on the higher side for portions but as i said the food was good. No kids menu but they split the food for us for the kids and everything is easy to split. They do have kid toys to keep kids happy. Overall food gets a 5 star rating. Service would be a 3 star as towards the end the lady was very welcoming and friendly. So if you want great food its the place to go. A nice local family run restaurant...
