Restoran Spring Golden in Shah Alam
Description
Privilege
Very delicious Char Siew. I gave 5 star.Edited. 2 star now. Getting pricey. RM9 per pack. I said less fat, you see what did I get? Its not the food that is bad, but the respect for customer, are they serious about serving the best to customer? I would not eat that fat of char Siew, so it is a waste of food after paying a premium price for my lunch. I will still go buy its food but I would need to double check my order every time which is inconvenient and unpleasant encounter.Edited. The boss compensated me with 2 new packs free after I texted him personally.Sep 2022. 5 star again. Perfect char siew. Very good service.
MoreCrystal Char Siew.... Yummy.... It melts in your mouth....Wantan noodle springy....Super satisfying meal....
MoreNo doubt the Char Siew is really nice but unfortunately it shocked away my relative for being overpriced charged RM64 only for the char siew portion. Our total bill for having 3drinks, 2 dry noodles 1 rice and 3 pax portion of charsiew + roast pork at RM126 😅
MoreStill taste as good as before esp the Charsiew, caramalised and tender. Other dishes (Roast pork and chickenand hainam rice were ok too. But the price was definitely offputting, RM18 per portion of 3 meats + rice. Defo come here once a while for a taste but the price can be questionable.
MoreIf anyone claimed that Char Siew Yoong is good, then he or she has never tasted this poli-charsiew. It is the best. It is worth the drive all the way to Shah Alam.
MoreChar Siew more on fatty side. Lady service very good but not the man. So stuck up. Dont even reply u when u ask him. Couldnt tell if he is local or foreigner but he can speak chinese so maybe local. One time try only. Wld not go back again.
MorePricey, taste is just normal. Customer service is not satisfactory. Will not go back again.
MoreBest glass type char siew in town. They opened 24/7 and only take break on CNY.Teh Bing and the Lemon Soda is really good.A plate of char siew and crispy pork is now at RM13.00 used to be below RM10 last year.
MoreGreat char siew as usual. Sold out by 1pm.Note: its 2022 already but theyre still taking cash only. So, prepare your wallets (not e-wallets okbefore coming.
MoreThe only food worth trying here is the char siew. It has the right flavours and melts in your mouth. The other options like siew yoke and roast chicken are so-so. Food here is generally on the pricier end and payment is cash only.
MoreUndercook rice.Packed 1kg char siew but 95% are pig scalp char siew.Total DAMAGE RM 250+1. 1 whole chicken2. 1kg char siew3. wan tan mee4. white rice
MoreFirst time come here, quite alot ppl.Price consider Abit higher due to recently pork price keep increase.Food ordered char siew and siew yukThis kind of glass char siew is have more fat, char siew very delicious worth to come and try( remember this kind of glass char siew is have more fat if u can accept it!)Siew yuk skin very crispy, not very salty!Overall still recommend to come and try!
MoreTheir best roast is the Char Siew. Tender yet the sweetness is just right. But the place is a bit run down and really need a makeover.
MoreLove their charsiew here. Roasted pork too…, athough the herbal tea bit expensive. But always very big mug
More[holiao]1overall - Chinese restaurant served good char siew and siew York, plenty of seating and parking capacity, fast service, ok environment, food must try are caramelised sweet char siew or bbq pork, siew York or roast pork, fat bean sprout, wan tan Mee, roasted chicken rice and many more from Restoran Spring Golden2char siew or bbq pork - tasted so good, good fraction of meat and fat, melts in your mouth, mouth watering, sweet and caramelised, sticky, loved the tender meat3roast pork or siew York - flavourful, salty, very crispy skin and tender meat, tasted good4roasted chicken - tender chicken, tasted alright
MoreGreat place for chicken rice and char siew. The char siew especially melts on the mouth when its eaten, and its also one of the highlights here.
MoreThe first time when I takeaway their Char Siew Fan home, I was shocked by the unexpected tastiness of it. The fats literally melted on my mouth and it was addictive. The second time I came to dine in the restaurant, I was slightly disappointed as the fats did not melt like last time. However, it was still a tasty meal regardless but I expected more since I was dining in.The third time I came here, it was really disastrous. I was giving them the chance to redeem themselves but sadly they did not use this chance dearly. The fats of the Char Siew did not melt like the first time too and the Char Siew was lacking in taste. It was a pretty tasteless meal. I was genuinely sad by the inconsistency of the food. It is definitely better than most Char Siew considering it is their signature here, but I had better Char Siew elsewhere.
MoreDelicious juicy char siew for those who likes abit of fat😂 Prices above average but you have to wait coz they are very popular. Plenty of parking but its a congested area coz NSK is right across the street. Will drop by again if around the area👍🏼
MoreVery tasty meal at reasonable price. We enjoyed all food here, although it is a bit heavy on the msg, or it will get 5 * .Before visit I read the reviews and my friend recommends their char siew, I am still surprised to find the beansprouts are the cute fat type from ipoh, the roast pork even though quite lea , the meat is tender and juicy, even taste good for the part without skin. The black vinegar trotter taste really nice that we order another portion to take home.
MoreExcellent charsiew they serve. I’m not a charsiew person but it’s really melt in the mouth. Try Their wantanmee!! was very springy too.
MoreBoss just count like that old school style !No price menu ! Rather expensive ya to be honest ! Rm62 + for 2 person dine in which was 1 portion person of roast pork , char Siew , roast chicken,4 PCs wan tan soup ,2 noodle and 2 take away 1 person wantan noodle ,1 char siew rice . Food was ok only la .. still prefer Meng Kei char siew
MoreVery good charsiew and siu yuk... Pricey but worth it...
Charsiew was a bit fatty and too charredSiew Yok normalOverpriced 5 people total bill RM130
MoreCame here many times.. One of the best 玻璃叉烧 in town
Hidden gems in Taman Sri Muda. The char siew is definitely"Must Try" dish. The fats easily melts in your mouth. Its rare to find char siew like this . Roasted chicken and roasted pork is Normal.
MoreSaturday 26/2/2022-11.50amchar siew was tasty and had a good ratio of meat to fat.roasted chicken breast was tender and moist.Rice is fluffy and not too oily, can be a tad softer but that’s just really personal preference.Thankfully we did not experience bad service as claimed by some of the other reviewers.Portion is very good for one person.Total damage RM25.401. Chicken Rice2. Chicken and Char siew rice3. Small vege-yau mak4. Herbal ice tea5. Chinese ice teaI think the price is value for money and will return!Overall, good experience with the taste and quality of the food. (let’s put ambiance and environment aside. )Visit 6/3/2022 Lunch TimeTotal damage RM28.201. Chicken Rice2. Chicken and Char siew rice3. Small vege-Choy Sum4. Herbal ice teaRice a tad soggy today but overall taste still great. Not sure why the price is higher this week with less food.
MoreRM9.80 for char siew + roast chicken breast. Expensive than subang / PJ area. Char siew is too fatty for my liking though i already requested for lean cut they just reply "try our best". A bit too burnt too. Roast Chicken taste average. Rice is fragrant, not bad but not the best. The only thing that justify the price is the meat portion is quite okay.
MoreColleague bought for tasting, hence the single photo review.😅After years & hundreds of different chicken rice experience, this is by far, 1 of the BEST meat Ive ever tasted. 😱🤤😍 Fresh, crispy & meat that is not too hard or over-chewy, everything is PERFECT!!! The rice portion is just right too, not the typical "stingy small bowl portion" wed expected when the meat is good. Cucumber also better than most shops. All in all, definitely a MUST try for chicken rice lovers, or just any food lover. 👍👍👍
MoreThe char siew is good. Meat propotions more on fat side, meat is tender. Char siew is well caramelised and taste not very sweet. Rice is not perfect. Take away only no dine during MCO time. The restaurant environment look a bit old and not very clean. A bit pricey but acceptable for the part of meat they cook for the char siew. Overall is good only minus point is the hygiene of the restaurant.
MoreWantan mee place serving nice melt-in-mouth charsiew. Order this lime soda drink, it doesnt include just lime but other ingredient like lemon, orange, pineapple. Very refreshing.
MoreProbably one of the best char siew in Malaysia. Even though is not cheap but I think is worth for the price. The free soup is a bonus with quite a bit of ingredients, not the normal msg soup like other places. The drinks also not bad, especially the soda is a hidden gems.Did not give 5 stars because I think the cleanliness can be improved a bit. And hopefully next visit the price won’t be more expensive or become smaller serve.
Morechar siew here is da bomb.. Love it. Caramelize and the burnt edges stuck into your teeth.best!! will come back try their wan tan mee next.@taufulou
MoreLike the Springy noodles texture. The sauce is flavourful but I found it to be a bit sweet for my liking. Char Siew comes in those melt in your mouth texture - I found it a bit too ‘jelak’ if have too much as it’s a lot of fats. Overall is good, they install cooling ventilation inside the shop as well for better comfort.
MoreIt was decent, not extraordinary but okay for a quick meal.We ordered the 3 types for 2 pax with 2 rices + one chiense tea = RM28
MoreFirst time tapao here, the char siew definitely one of the better ones around this area. Price is slightly higher than other shops, but good stuff will come with higher price. Come and give it a try if you are in this area.
MoreBBQ Pork is still one of the best around. Roasted pork needs some work. Chicken is ok. Coffee is great
MoreChar siu is fantastic here, I will sure come back. Huge portion too. Chilli could be spicier (sweet tho)
MoreOne of the better char siew you will surely remember! Taste wise it is just nice. Tender meat with lots of fats. However the rice is a bit too soft. The next order I will skip the rice.
MoreBest charsiew around Kemuning. Infact like it alot better than many other famous one in PJ, Subang & KLThe caramel melts nicely, the charsiew meat is so juicy and tender. Served in thick cutPrice is on the high side
MoreBest char siew I ever had!! Seriously try them out. Can be rather crowded during peak hours so go earlier or later but risk them running out of char siew. 4*s for average service.
MoreBest char siew ever! After eating this youll never go back to the normal char siew which is dry and bland. Order the lemon soda too, best on a hot day!
MoreIf youre char siew affocianado, there is a high chance that youve already tried the famous "Bo lei" (glasschar siew at this restaurant located somewhere along Kesas Highway in Shah Alam. If not, question yourself once again 😜 just kidding. But seriously, Spring Golden is very famous for their char siew. Trying to come even in weekdays and high chances that you have to wait for tables especially during lunch hour, as it was popular with the lunch crowd.. and did I mention that its very near to a lot of factories and commercial areas in Shah Alam?◾Char siew - the caramelisation of the pork belly was perfect with slightly charred on the outer layer. To be honest, the char siew was not transculent enough to warrant the name glass char siew but even so, it was very good.. sweetz sticky and melt-in-the-mouth. So good that I had to order a second plate of this.◾Wantan noodle with sui gao - this seems to be the popular choice with the patrons here. The Sui gao was big and filled with generous ingredients.◾siew yuk - better than the chicken.◾Roasted chicken - good◾Kopi ais - served in a jar like glass rather than a cup, I like how "gao" the kopiThe lunch crowd at its peak could spill out to the pedestrian walkway but many seem not to mind sitting outside braving the heat. Does it worth driving all the way here for the char siew? You bet it..
MoreServes really good char siew which melts in your mouth. Good chi kiok shin (pork trottersalso. The wantan noodles serves are the fine type and they had a good crunch. However the char siew are priced a bit on the high side but then most good char siew shops charging that way too....
MoreReally good place for Char Siew— its soft & tasty and practically melts in your mouth. The staff are friendly & the atmosphere is decent. It’s well ventilated so it’s not too bad even when there are big crowds. The only problem is that it’s a little pricier than most Char Siew places.
MoreThe Bean sprouts is short and crunchy but a bit oily. Should reduce the amount of oil put. Overall will visit again.
MoreBBQ Char Siew excellent... Better than Meng Kee glenmarie in my opinion. Have successfully converted some Meng Kee fans after they tried this. The char Siew is tender on the inside, slighty charred outside. Option to go with rice or mee (dry). The mee is a must try. They dont serve mee during peak hours though. Roasted chicken and pork available too and I must say it is good. Place is small and can get crowded during lunch. Prefer to avoid the lunch crowd.
MoreLove their char siew and noodles a lot but siew yok is disappointing. Worth to travel all the way from kl to shah Alam for this!
MoreMeat melts in your mouth; charsiew skin is nicely caramelized and slightly crispy.
MoreThe barbecued pork, or char siew, is an absolute melt-in-the-mouth kind. I loath the fatty kind of char siew but over here, I gobble it down because the fat seems like part of the caramelised bit. The chili dipping is a tad too sweet for me but is more than made up by the fact that they leave a whole jar on the table. Max Lam, the founder, is often seen here mingling with customers.
MoreLove the char siu here! Nicely caramelised and just the right flavour! The roast pork was also good. For those who love their HK type of roast meats, this is a must-stop! A return stop for me whenever I am around in the Shah Alam / Subang area.
