10/10 would recommend someone to eat here and get the char side cause that was my favourite.Their Kok fa is nice as they make it themselves, it’s fragrant and not too sweet.Came on a Saturday afternoon, and it was slightly pack. Had to wait about 20 mins for a table, do remember to take the number placed on the table to indicate whether you’re dining in or taking out.

First time here. Good service and polite staff but food just average.

Overrated. Chicken does not taste any special except the Rice has a fragrant taste. Chicken feels rough, dry, harder in texture. Very normal.

One of the less busy chicken rice joints within the city. Friendly staff. Parking a pain as expected. Prices are a bit touristy. Not too big. Service is organised but a bit slow.We shared a combination (steam & roastchicken for 4 pax, 1 pax portion of char siew & siew yoke plus single portions of tauge & acar. It was pretty good. Rice is flavorful. Chicken was tender & juicy. The sauce was addictive. Pork items average at best. Acar was okay & added an interesting dimension. The soup was amazing. One of the best Ive tasted.Overall we enjoyed our meal. Will recommend for those in the area. Much better than Lou Wong for sure.

Wasn’t expecting the taste will be that delicious. Great food and great customer service. You just need to wait for a longtime. But worth the wait.

I came all the way back to ipoh to eat this. Very disappointed. The chicken was so tough and dry. Was my 1st meal coming into ipoh. So disappointed. I can get better back home.

Ordered 1 plate of roasted chicken rice RM6 with acar RM1 and beansprouts RM1. Total RM8.Steam chicken only for 1 pax RM8.50. Chrysanthemum drink RM1.80.Overall taste is good. Beansprouts (taugehis a must to eat in Ipoh.Came here on a Monday at 12:40pm for lunch.The coffee shop was crowded. Managed to get a table within 5 mins. Service was quick and efficient.

Arguably the best chicken rice restaurant in town and it has been around for a long, long time. A normal sight of customers crowding here during lunch time. The poached chicken is simply smooth, tender and juicy. The free soup of salty vegetables is unique and appetising. The other tasty side dishes make your gourmet visit a memorable one. Management of seating arrangement, order of food right down to settlement of bills is neat and systematic.Little wonder the much advertised Michelin Star related restaurant of Liao Fan Hawker Chan (了凡油雞飯situated just opposite had thought it wise to shift to Coliseum Square, Jalan Gopeng.

Better than average chicken rice.Their sour vege taste good, a little bit on the sweet side.Limited seat they have, probably only 10 tables. Was here during Chinese New year and had to queue for 45 minutes. Lady boss was handling the crowd well.

Poached chicken is good. Roasted chicken and char siu (BBQ porkare alright. Do give the sambal stink beans and hot & for green mustard stew a try. Theyre delicious.

Nice dishes and the lady boss is friendly and politely. This shop always crowded during lunch time, therefore need to prepare some waiting time, some people were really inconsiderate other people queuing outside, even they finish dishes keep sitting there talking.Their chickens and side dishes are so good and nice. Should visit when you are in Ipoh. Price are reasonable.

Small store with a capacity of about 24 pax(?at any time. Waited for about 20mins but the crowd was well managed by the lady boss.Food was good, but comparable to KL prices - RM 7 for chicken rice. Would come back though, very fragrant rice & chicken was silky 🤤

The food are great! Went for combination and the charsiew is just wow! We had to order another side of charsiew because it was just amazing! The chicken, both roasted and hainanese are great! Definitely coming back for this!!

Good, not great. Char Siew was good, but if youre in KL, Boon Signature or Spring Golden is far superior. Chicken n tauge were good too, but I dont get why people queue for this. No problems whatsoever, just... good, not great. I dont know about the other "famous" Tauge Chicken around the area la, maybe theyre all the same. I just know that if youre in KL, its not worth the trip up.

A local legend, the restaurant doesnt need further introduction, its testified by the queue during lunch peak hours, not to mention the grab food orders!Do expect a looooong wait though. Went there for a takeaway during a Tuesday lunch. Staff was polite and ever friendly.Take a number and youll be called up to make your order and pay accordingly. Then the waiting game starts... Took me about 30-40min wait. I could sense a lot of frustrated customers and one even gave up her order and requested her refund while her turn was almost up.I would suggest the business owner to inform customers briefly on the waiting time, to avoid unnecessary black faces from customers.Nearby parking is always a nightmare so beware!

Chicken is really good quality! Doesn’t taste rubbery at all. We tried “ying yong” chicken- so it’s a mix of roasted chicken and white chicken. Both is OK, but the sauce is not to my taste. I prefer more flavor. But my bf likes it.Roast pork was good too! They have char siew and bean sprout, but we didn’t order that.They have this sour Chinese soup as a free appetiser. It’s super tasty. I had 2 bowls haha. Refills for this is free.Service is good. I really like the owner. She’s very friendly and polite.Price is reasonable too. RM22/pax for ordering all the above + rice + drinks + 1 more side. Place is very clean.

Very tasty chicken rice, and filling portion. Steam chicken meat was perfect, and charsiew was well marinated and tender (tho a bit too fat for my prefbut it was a really satisfying meal.MCO SOPs are observed, premise is well kept, service is prompt. Ive bookmarked this place as a fave :)

Really worth the wait. The chicken rice is really good and very tasty. The rice is yellow in color, unlike the usual chicken rices. The bean sprout are crunchy and juicy. The acar is a very good combination and goes well with the rice.Highly recommend.There is always a queue, so do expect that.Parking in the area can be quite problematic as it is in the town centre.

We wanted to taste the famous Ipoh bean sprouts. As one local mentioned since Ipoh resides in a valley the water and minerals make all the difference. The bean sprouts taste fresh and crunchy. We ended up here at Pan Kong to have the famous chicken rice and bean sprouts.Great experience. Very clean place. Had a small queue to enter at 11.15 am - so it’s quite popular. And we weren’t disappointed. The chicken rice was tasty - chicken a bit chewy - not something I have experienced before so don’t know if it’s cooked this way or was it under cooked 🤷🏼The rice, chili sauce and ginger was yum. We also ordered char siew and it was excellent. All in all a very good fare. Enjoy this if you are in Ipoh

Not good... the roast chicken, charsiew taste stale and the bean spout taste really awkward. Will not return back...

Chicken was tender, roasted chicken is preferred over steamed chicken. Roasted pork comes with a crispy crackling which was great. Achar was just okay. Overall, it was a good lunch. Ordering or queuing might get a little confusing. However, owner is friendly and was very accommodating. Will definitely revisit.

Ordered chicken (roasted and steamedas well as the roast meat and sweet meat. Overall food is okay but we tasted somewhere else (Lou Wongand felt that there is better. The steamed chicken skin is really smooth!

Place is famous so there will be crowd. Gotta queue for seat. Food is not bad. Their Petai is very nice, sour spicy veggie is so so. Roast chicken is soft, char siew soft and nice, roast pork is good but not so good. Overall is nice, not a bad place to dine in.

Was in Ipoh a few times and always see this long queue at the Pak Kong Chicken Rice Shop so first thought is the food must be good. So finally last weekend decided to pay the shop a visit and join in the queue. Waited like 15 minutes, got our seat and put in an order for the three of us.Ordered mix of roaster and steam chicken, charsiew and siewyuk platter, assam vegetable, sambal ikan bilis and the pork king (similar to paikut wong but is pork fillet instead).Food arrived, the rice is fragrant but average. Chicken is not too bad but not outstanding, roasted pork is ok ~ crispy skin but slightly hard, charsiew flavor is ok but not enough fat for me. Sambal ikan bilis is nice as the pork king. The assam vegetable not too yummy at all.Paid about RM65 for the meal.

Chicken looks dry outside the stall but after they put the gravy, its just alive. Homecook taste, not like those commercialized chicken rice stall. Great charsiew. Complimentary soup taste just nice, just pair with the chicken rice.Tips: if ordering take away, need to queue beside the stall, however if dining in, just need to tell the staffs and wait for ur turn.Should try when you are in Ipoh

Quite crowded. Need to queue for dine in and take away. Hainan steamed chicken taste better than roast chicken. BBQ pork taste nice. The free soup slightly different with normal chicken rice shop, its the salty cabbage soup. Nice ah chah here. Very enjoy and definitely will come back again!

Really good chicken rice. Meat was silky smooth and juicy. Bean sprouts were good quality but a bit overrated taste wise. Petai was good though, preferred that.

Recommended chicken rice 👍. Look for the cashier when you arrive, let her know how many pax and she will arrange seats for you when it is ready. Friendly service, quick, delicious and reasonable price. We spent about RM90++ for 10 pax. Environment a bit small but clwan so do bear with it.
