Restaurante Sultán - Moroccan restaurant in Granada, Spain
The food was middling but the service was atrocious.Got lemonade spilled on us, made to sit at the same dripping wet table until we requested a table change, got the orders completely wrong, missed items AND denied the whole thing when I told them off.Oh and the food was soooo slow. An entire hour to bring the tanjines and somehow the meat was still tough.Do not go unless you’re real desperate like we were for food after Alhambra.
Great food, attentive staff
Great Moroccan food, lovely decor ( if a bit touristyand good service. The menu at €14.90 was excellent value. They all spoke at least 3 languages each.
We went actually back after the first time. Great food. The owner served us and he is amazing. Going back again this August. Love El Sultan.
Delicious fresh food with delicious Moroccan mint tea!
Friendly staff and very delicious food and calm place
Nice North African restaurant. When I went for dinner it was very quiet. Service and food were good though
We were really disappointed! The food was flavourless, nobody of us was satisfied with what we ordered. We expected at least a little bit of taste and spice in Arabic food. Waste of money. In addition to that, the waiter did not show any friendliness or enthusiasm. All in all a bad experience. Only the interior design was nice and the lemonade with mint was quite okay.I am usually really easy with food and I like everything - but this not at all unfortunately... I hope you can improve for future guests! :)
Very nicely morrocan restaurant in the lively Calle Elvira. They offer closed menus at popular prices. The decoration is really colorful. The flavours were sort of blunt compared to their competitors in the area.It is psrtislly adapted to wheelchairs
They just have one server. Very slow service. And theres a lot of people coming, they just end up going away because the person who welcomes customer is all around, he do most of stuff. Very small portions not worth it. Theres a lot more of place to eat better than this. Would not comeback.
I have eaten in a few places in Granada, but this was by far the best restaurant I have been to. The atmosphere and the service were amazing. The food was delicious!!
Food okayNot spicy at all for Pakistani taste budsTried cuscus and tanjin
Incredible food, the decor is amazing and the waiter was sincerely kind and nice person. We will be back
Nice service, friendly staff. We had delicious tajine and Salad Veriada. One of the few Moroccan restaurants in Albacin that serves wine… a nice local wine from Granda as well.
Friendly staff, amazing food, you feel like you are in Morocco. The deal/menu of the day is really good and cheap.
One of the best Arabic restaurants I have ever tried! I highly recommend the affordable Menu del Día and especially the plates of couscous and hummus.
It says menu del dia. But they charge for drinks, tea and other little things that looks complimentary. The guy would keep offering things as if its included in the menu but at the end we ended up paying double the price for menu. I would never pay that much for the food they offer.
Very good meal. Herbal tea gift good. Cheap and clean.
The chicken tagine with almonds and plums was so good. With the bread and lemonade with mint, finished off by Moorish tea, i couldnt have asked for anything more.
Food was not bad, but pretty plain. Strange, we expected some kind of higher quality; maybe because its not Spanish. Not impressed. But service was unexpectedly bad. The waiter was pretty reluctant to move us from a table 2 meters from the entrance door to another available table of the same size. He rarely appeared, and once, when he was taking away an extra glass, he just threw my napkin on the table. I dont know, is it something ethnic? Or is it the attitude towards the people who speak English? We could speak Spanish, no era un problema para nosotros.Anyway, disappointed on two counts.Oh, more. We tried to order eggplants, but they did not have any! Just an idea, in the menu. Really, Granada out of eggplants today?Ok, bread was really good.
Food was bland and the service was rushed and unfriendly. There are other Moroccan restaurants nearby which may be better.
I enjoyed the meal, food very good, but missed my postre and coffee!!
One waiter, who was friendly, but not enough to properly service a dozen tables. Food was ok. Interior is very nice, feels like being inside the Alhambra.
If you’re looking for a vegetable option... don’t eat here! I’m pretty sure it was frozen vegetables that had been boiled and microwave rice with hardly any spices at all, had to cover it in salt & pepper to give it flavor.Would have been a lower rating but the soup and hummus was okay.
I expected more, however the hummus and the eggplants were good, but the tajines... Not at all.
Walked into this place excited to try it out. The waiter had a horrible attitude from the get go. After a number of disrepectul exchanges with the waiter we just had to walk out of there. The man was aggressive rude for basically having to explain to the menu and doing his job. I cant rate the food but the service is the worse I have ever experienced.
Its amazing place fresh food and high quality and good price
Tasty plates in a beautiful location
Seeing reviews we tried this restaurant. However the chicken tagine with prunes was chicken in fatty cold water with a handful of almonds and a couple of tinned prunes! Chicken cous cous was lacking in any taste or spices you would normally associate with this cuisine. For the first time ever we paid our bill and left without eating the food. Hugely disappointed.
Slow indifferent service. The food was good, but not special.
nice place, friendly serving, good price with decent taste! this is lamb with rice
Beautiful looking restaurant. Food was good too.
We ate like Sultans in thus traditional restaurant, the chicken Tagine and the Lamb tagine were cooked to perfection, the flat breads so light and fresh we could both have eaten more.
The soup was delicious and the desert simple but very tasty. My wife had the chicken and rice which she loved. The server was very friendly and the service was fast.
I was served a cold paella. Really disappointed. The waiter don’t even say sorry.
A well decorated restaurant. Service and food were good.
Nice food and interesting combinations. The Tahin with almond, lamb and plums is very recommendable.
Lamb from the lamb tagine was very tender. Had the chicken couscous- the couscus was good and the quantity was quite large though the chicken was average. Had Moroccan mint tea after our meal which was good
Terrible food, without any taste and lazy service. We ordered two different tajine: one vegetarian, one with meatballs. I got literally veggies from water, without nothing - any spices, any sause, any different stuff - it looked like frozen mix of vegetables from supermarket. Other dish has only few meatballs with half of egg in the middle - no spices and a lot of water, thats all! Only lemonade that we ordered to food was really great. Service was terrible. Two waiters were chatting and didnt pay attention to customers while we waited 30 minutes for our bill. From our experience the worst place in Granada. Pity, cause has wonderful design.
Great food. Great service. Beautiful decoration ecrn gor 8 person.
Worst arab food of my whole life. Staff was super unfriendly. First they forgot one dish. Then they brought the wrong one. Didnt even apologise. Worst dining experience in all of Andalusia.
Great food and very friendly, attentive service. Not formal but just right for our party of 6 sightsee ers
very good moroccan food !!
Really nice place. Their tangines are superb, try the one with chicken and almond! Also, try the Hummus and Arabian Bread as a starter!
Excellent food that is representative of Morocco and Andalucia. Service is great. Would definitely recommend.
Very small couscous. The "royal" was for so disappointed. All ingredients mixed in a small plate. Better to get their menu. Deception.
Hummus was nice. Lamb rice were better than chicken rice. Price and quality very good. Recommended.
Excellent hummus but our main dishes were lacklustre and the lamb kabob was a very small portion of rice and only 1 skewer of lamb. Restaurant setting is nice. Service was ok. They do serve beer and wine. Sign outside read, "Gratis Tapas" but inside the bartender/waiter said they did not offer free tapas.
One of the better north African themed restaurants we have visited. We loved the chicken in puff pastry. Also the hummus.
Excellent food quality, price and service. The decoration also makes you feel you are dinning in a alhambra palace without the gardens.
