Restaurante Plaza Chinitas - Rice restaurant in Malaga, Spain
A small restaurant in a small square. Very tasteful paella.
Very good service and lovely sea food
Awful, very slow service, couldnt care less attitude. Middle of winter and no soup available despite several menu options. Food, when it did arrive was nothing special. Another couple arrived after we had ordered, were ignored and left in disgust.AVOID
Actually we had a good impression of the place but similar to previous reviews, we got charged for bread we never ordered and for which nothing was mentioned (that/how much is charged). Secondly, we thought the paella for two people was 18 eur just as they showed us on the menu but on the bill it was 2x 18 eur (2 persons). I think, especially after reading similar reviews here, they are genuinly deceiving customers. these things could EASILY be made clear, but they just dont do it.
To avoid. Not a place where you want to eat. Food is not tasty, overpriced for the location, and staff tries to overcharge you for no reason. First when you order, and when they give you the check, you see things that you never ordered.
Absolutely terrible service
Not a very nice experience...
Home cooked food with love and personal taste.
Excellent seafood
Good food, prices and service
Very nice place good taste of seafood but not something very special.
Excellent food. We chose our fish which was then prepared for us. Nice staff, pleasant surroundings.
Great Paella!!
Cozy atmosphere and nice surroundings. Unfortunately the food was very overcooked
Paella was good, but service left something to be desired. Evidently tried to upcharge a neighbouring table. Double-check your bill!
Lovely food ,beautiful _-everyone enjoyed what they had to eat ,thank you
Restaurante Plaza Chinitas has a exquisite taste of Spanish tapas and seafood. I highly recommend this place for the fried anchovies and the tomato gaspacho. They can go for your money very easily, which I think is good as they are very good at promoting dishes.I would rate 5 stars if they didnt make mistakes on the bill (Always double check!!and if they didnt charge for the hard and stale buns with butter.
Stumbled across this restaurant by chance, food was nice and waiters attentive but was a little pricey, that monkfish in the photo was €45 as its priced by weight we didnt know until we asked for la cuenta.
Paella was good, but everything else not.
Expensive and waiter annoying!
Great lobster (fresh from the tank just for usseafood paella, great service, and a price that was very reasonable - well recommended. I cannot understand the negative reviews. We visited on chance not because of any reviews. We were assisted with whatever we asked for, including explanations of the different seafood available, and the historical significance of the former restaurant in Plaza Chinitas.
Very tasty paella. Prices are decent. Great location. Very nice service.
I honestly feel terrible leaving negative reviews because I really value and appreciate the effort it takes to run and support a business. So with this review laying heavy on my conscience, I must say we had a below average meal here. The service was great, the waiters were very attentive. But the seafood paella came out super watery (why?!and tasted very bland so I couldn’t finish it. They gave us bread (quite staleand butter and charged us for it when we didn’t order it. The fruit in the sangria was not fresh. This was our last meal in Malaga and it was a disappointment.
AVOID. Do not waist your time and money here! Find elsewhere. The Trip Advisor review is fake. Food is too expensive and not fresh. Also, the service is bad, they try to push you the €60 meal.
Bad food and slow service.
Food is ok, Staff is friendly but the price is double than anywhere else we were eating in the last 3 weeks. Price / food quality is in any relation ship. Better go to Malagueta Beach and eat your fish or calamar from the grill for half price and same even better taste.
Hi I am vegan but my husband likes his stak. I like restaurants that can cater for both of us. I am impressed thaw well they prepared my salad. I will definitely come back here. Thank you Staff of this restaurant
Frozen calamari, defrosted and fried; pictures of food on wall. Tourist trap.
Very friendly staff , service prompt and good food ,a must if you love fish
Great paella, very kind waiter
AwfulNul€68 for a shared seafood platter which is a quarter of the size of what you would get for that price in Brittany. Langoustines and prawns not cooked properly. Sword fish not cooked either.
An extremely poor dining experience that left me distrustful of tourist traps and trip advisor. When we arrived, a group of 18 English young men were loudly carrying on while using profanity that was clearly bothering some of the other patrons. This continued as waiters attempted to shush them in the most passive way. After around ten minutes of this incredible annoyance, the waiter offered them free drinks (some of them were already clearly intoxicatedin exchange for 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor. Even though these young men had already eaten their food and clearly annoying other patrons, the staff seemed content to allow their foolishness to continue in order to game tripadvisors review system. But let us not stop there. The food was equally bad. An uninspired tomato salad with raw onion and barely flavorful tomatoes gave way to the worst paella I have ever eaten. 34 dollars, just for the paella, amounted to.a dish that arrived less than 15 minutes later with barely any crisp rice, barely any color and zero flavor. The Valencians would burn this place to the ground, and I would pour the gasoiine. When I got the bill, of course I was charged for the bread and butter we were given prior to our meal. Bread and butter I never asked for.You have been warned. This is a corrupt business who have taken over a quiet corner in Malagas tourist area to prey upon unsuspecting foreigners. If I could give it a zero, it wouldnt be low enough. Disgusting.I cant wait for the lazy copy pasted response from the owners that you can see on any other negative review.
Very nice Paella and friendly service! 👌🏻
Please avoid this place...Or check the bill 2 times just in case.Just left this restaurant...We checked the reviews only when seating at the table. We ordered a sea food paella with a soda and a beer. They brought bread rolls and butter and didn’t say anything about the price but we knew, if we will eat them, they will charge us. So we didn’t!They gave us a kind of zucchini tempura as an appetizer for free. It was good!Food was ok. Paella a bit salty 😒when they gave the bill, they charged us the breads and butter we haven’t eaten. And then, brought the (seems to be« correct » bill and I checked again,They charged us 2 times the drink each.I gave them a chance and did not want to trust the reviews but please guys, don’t do the same mistake.
If you wanna waste your money, I suggest you to go to this restaurant. I made a mistake by going there because of TripAdvisor review which I believe they were fake. They brought bread and butter without asking then they charged us.The food was below average while the price is way above the average.Service was good.
Very nice atmosphere and quiet place... food amazing and waiting staff very helpful. Highly recommended to everyone who like relax after busy day ;)
Quit nice, average food.
Overpriced and poor quality. Seafood was not fresh. Very disappointed considering how good the Trip Advisor reviews were for this place. Compared to the rest of the restaurants and bars we’ve visited in Malaga - this place is not up to scratch.
Subpar food at an unreasonably high price - avoid at all costs. There are much better restaurants around Málaga that charge lower prices. We chose this restaurant based on good Trip Advisor reviews; I wonder if these are faked? We ordered a seafood paella and calamari. The calamari was ok but we had better. The paella however was the let down - certainly reheated, the majority of the rice was dried and stuck to the bottom of the pan. We only got one langostine and one mussel each - was nothing to write home about. If you want good seafood, I recommend one of chiringuitos on the beach such as Chiringuito Tropicana.
Do not understand the bad reviews. Lovely cosy corner, amazing prawns and great fish.
3 € for one piece of bread and 4 € for a glass of beer. Luckily I checked the reviews and left before ordering more. Terrible and dodgy place that gives Málaga a bad name.
I am forced to give this restaurant one star, because the I al not allowed to give it any less. My girlfriend and I go to restaurants twice a week and I havent gone to a restaurant this bad in YEARS. Honestly one of the worst places I have ever gone to. We ordered some fried seafood and some grilled calamaris: the fried seafood was gummy, chewy and DEFINITELY not fresh, the grilled calamari looked awful and looks definitely didnt deceive us as it was gummy and FULL of garlic. Waiters were not nice as they didnt pay much attention to us, and also picked what we would eat as half the stuff we ordered they didnt have in stock. Now, lets talk about the price: as if it couldnt get any worse, they charged us 62€ for some fried seafood, grilled calamari and ONE bottle of wine. It is unacceptable and barely legale. Also the location was incredibly ugly. 100% would NOT recommend. Absolutely disgusting.
Super expensive and not that good
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. The grilled fish price is quoted per 100gram on the menu so when you are surprised by the bill.. dont be. Its overpriced and not a nice atmosphere to go with the cost.
Bad service, overpriced, heated( or better say slightly microwavedfood
Fresh fish at reasonable price. It is not a super chic restaurant but it is worth its price. Very centric place.
Here you are deceived. Have ordered Entrecot and got pork. After complaining we were even shown the fresh pork and the packed entrecot with label present and still assert it be entrecot. We think was a joke but it was not. The same with the bread it must be paid extra.
Do not recommend. Food was 3/5 but service 0/5.
This restaurant is a joke. At the beginning you get a Bread roll with butter. Nobody tells you that you have to Pay for it. I orderd spicy prawns. What you get? Ten prawns for 12€ which are swimming in Oil. The food wasnt horrible but very very expensive. You get nothing for your Money. We said to the waiter 3 times that we want to get the bill and were getting ignored.
this used to be a great restaurant, but it changed and now its aimed at tourists with expensive food and lower quality, what a shame
