Contemporary Pan-Asian food, plus wine & art in an elegant, sophisticated, iconic hotel.
Pessoalmente achei bem ruim a comida.
Amamos a sobremesa.
Eaten in many fine dining restaurants around the World, and I also found that although the presentation of the food is very good, it just doesn’t have those mouth watering flavours that you would expect, especially for a Michelin Star restaurant and the price here. The sponge cake on my last desert even tasted off.Ambience and service was excellent, but definitely not Michelin quality food for tastes and I wouldn’t recommend for what you would expect here.
Mee restaurant is inside the beautiful Copacabana Palace hotel. The restaurant has impeccable decor, but could go a little further. The tasting menu is very good, with the 3 nigiris and the astonishing garden dessert the highlights. The pho soup was my least favorite one, jt lacked a little flavor. Overall a great experience, I would definitely come back.
Management Red Flag !!!Today I had a terrible experience at MEE on the prestigious Copacabana Palace a restaurant with Michelin Star.We came to celebrate my friend BirthdayI acknowledge at the hostess the occasion who she confirmed as well.My friend had to wait and stop eating cause my food got delayed 50 minutes for 2 Pork Baú after he was served unacceptable. Not body apologized. How ever the climax point of this was they totally forgot my friends birthday as well we were not offer any dessert or small detail for the occasion. All this was unnoticed by the chef and the manager until I acknowledge the manager to make sure this dint happen again . Also on all this caos it was a result of a restaurant photo shooting in progress that was happening at the moment making us uncomfortable taking pictures without our concent. Reason why my food was delayed. Cause the servers were more worry about cooking food dishes for the photo shooting .Terrible this type of complaints can be avoid with better management .
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🙏🏽amazing exclusively the service is sensational my daughter as sushi lovers like us ,we loved our night at MEE, World first class service!, until now this type of service we only have in Switzerland in 5 stars restaurants,I am grateful with your affection and perfect service with my family.Thank you 🙏🏽
Really really surprised at just how excellent this restaurant is, it’s in the Copacabana Palace Hotel so you know it’s going to be amazing, loved the Hong Kong prawns particularly. We let the manager order for us and loved it, some reviews here mention portion size well don’t be fooled by that and remember this is fine dining not steak n chips, thanks so much for a favours evening guys see you in May
Terrible experience. The portions are super small. The waiter told us the the tuna tartar was a “super big dish” even to share and it resulted in a tinny little ball of tuna (like a nibbleand super pricy for the amount and quality (see pic). The same with the “golden egg desert” which is mainly a little scope of mango sorbet with traces of “belgian chocolate” The main dishes are advertised as being super gourmet; we order duck and it tasted worse that chicken wings from KFC.DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED.
Service was great, but unfortunately the food was not what I expected from a Michelin rated restaurant at a five stars hotel. Although some dishes were pretty creative and the flavors well balanced the texture was not taken into relevance to create a harmonic flavor of a more sophisticated palate. @food_vivant #foodvivant #food_vivant
One of the very best meals of my life. I’ve traveled worldwide, and I was deeply moved by the gastronomic fantasy I savored last evening.Let me start with the food… superb. The ingredients were combined in a way so that each course of the tasting menu was art. Then, because it’s a tasting menu, each course interacted with the previous course.. and then set the stage for the next. This is a true food odyssey!!!I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the above and beyond attention by the staff. They quietly stood by and guided and explained. While perhaps some would take it as too much staff interaction, I appreciated it. It was a pleasure to be guided. The staff was proud of their offerings, and perfectly presented each course. Stefani was my lead server, and she was knowledgeable, friendly and kind. I understand she’s new to Mee. She’s the consummate hostess! If your considering Mee, I would encourage you to try the tasting menu. Be prepared for spectacular!
We booked the restaurant for a friend’s birthday and wanted something special so we thought we couldn’t go wrong with a Michelin star restaurant: we were wrong. As French women, we hold Michelin star restaurants in high regard and were expecting to be transported by the amazing food. The entrée, appetizers and drinks were great. However; the main course was quite disappointing especially considering the prices we paid. We ordered the Ramen soup and the BiBiBap and both dishes were quite basic as we were expecting more. Indeed, we had all had better either in France or Berlin (where I liveat less than 15€.All in all, if you are a foody like us and have high expectations when it comes to great food, you will be disappointed.I will however give bonus points to the restaurant for not adding as much salt in their restaurants as the other Brazilian restaurants we have been to😅. Furthermore, the place is incredible with a great decor that does feel like a Michelin star restaurant.
We really wanted to love it but something was just missing. While the presentation was very good, flavors were just a little to bland and uninteresting. For example they had a dish with A5 Kobe beef which they used a hot coal to sear at the table. Should have been amazing but was flat and didnt stand out. It was a good meal but not worthy of a michelin star.
One of the better culinary experiences in Rio, with great ambiance for any occasion, and food that meets the most demanding palates.Located inside the traditional Copacabana Palace, the setting sets the mood as soon as you step into the lobby. The service is impecable, friendly, and knowledgeable, while also unpretentious.
Loved it!
Great food and drinks! The wagyu curry was amazing and so were the desserts. The seared salmon appetizer with spicy sauce was good, but the ikura was a disappointment. They were the tiniest ikura rolls I have ever seen and at 2 pieces for about $20, felt a bit like a waste of money. The service/speed was not what Id expect at a Michelin star restaurant. The food took an extremely long time to arrive. The server even apologized for the delay. We werent in any hurry luckily and were having fun with friends but still slow delivery. The bill also took forever to bring. We were two couples so needed it split for each couple. That shouldve been asked in the beginning if it is such a trouble to split later. On a positive note, the staff speaks English so communication was not an issue and the ambiance is nice and quiet. However, if Im going to spend this kind of money at a restaurant, Im not sure Id choose this place again.
Very nice place and food.
Food was definitely good; however the service was less than "bib gourmand". To be specific-- we waited about 10-20 mins between dishes. Totally unacceptable for a one star restaurant. Fortunately I was able to leave, take a walk to a really good roast chicken place, eat, and come back in time to wait another 5 mins for my entree.
Excellent quality food
Excellent
Loved the people who worked here. Flavio was so friendly and helpful. We came here two nights in a row and Flavio was always there to help to explain the menu with a big smile!
Excelent food, good enviroment
Last week the waiter Guilherme made us a really special night with fantastic food! Thank you!
Incredibly disappointed. Not sure how this place got its Michelin star, the food was very one dimensional with no real depth of flavour. The only 2 dimensional flavour I had was the taste of fish on my desert spoon! Our wine was also corked and while it was changed there was no apology from the waiter or the sommelier
I can’t begin to describe the disappointment with the staff, service, and food at restaurant mee. Every bottle of sake, wine, and liquor is priced 5-6 times above its value. When I refused a rancid tasting bottle of sake, I was told there was a problem, and I had to pay for the bottle even though I refused to take another sip. And the over-salted food, I’ve had far better for a fraction of the cost! It simply goes to show you how far a hotelier will stick its head up michelin’s derrière to get their pompous restaurant a “star” rating.
Dishes like Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, Tuna Tartar TOO spicy that couldn’t taste the food. Raw sushi amazing. Overall not impressed.
Surely, among the top Japanese restaurants in Rio. Great variety of fish and elaborations of fish. Extensive variety of sake and wine.
found it pretty disappointing, didnt feel like fine dining food.
Average food and service at premium prices
Horrible service, extremely rude. We called to see if we could arrive in 10 minutes, they said yes no problem, and when we arrived they did not even let us into the hotel. When we called to see what happened and explained we had come all the way from leblon, they were not understanding and kept being rude. Did not expect this from such a hotel/restaurant. Really let us down.
Not worth it the prices you have to pay. Extraordinary prices for average Food. There are way better places for much less Money.
Michelin star restaurant.
Fantastic restaurant !!
Mee RestaurantWe went for dinner at Mee which is supposed to be a Michelin star restaurant.Totally disappointed with the food. Very small serves for exorbitant prices. Generally the food was below average. It was daylight robbery even with a bottle of water costing 30rialsWe had to send the broccoli back as it was cold and the the flowerets were yellow which means it was old and withered. The duck was hard and a very miserable portion and the pancakes were thickThe fish was nice but paid more than 100 Rials for a small portionThe cooking of the dishes was definitely below par. We were definitely very disappointed with the food. Not sure how this restaurant earned a Michelin Star. Street food would have been a lot better for about one third of the price. Will definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Shocking !!We will inform our hotel who recommended us to this restaurant.
When it comes to top service and an amazing food the Restaurant Mee at the Copacabana Palace is the place to go. Okay, you may think it is going to be an expensive outing but actually it is fantastic value for money. I have visited quite a few restaurants in Rio and Mee is my number one by far. You start by entering the majestic Copacabana Palace and make you way to the left to the swimming pool area. At the end of the corridor, turn right and you get to Mee, an Asian fusion Michelin starred restaurant. The staff there are always welcoming and they are very knowledgeable about the dishes. Junior, Daniel, Vinicius and all the other staff have always made our experience there one to remember. The cocktails menu is exquisite, if you like a bit of a spicy kick, I recommend the chicken gyoza, the wagyu beef should not be missed. I personally die for their lobster and the various sushi options are just amazing. When it comes to dessert I normally pass but I cannot resist the lime marzipan. So, thats my experience there, I have been and will go again!
Excellent omakase menu and a very friendly and helpful staff. Ended up with a bill of 2100 reais for 3 people, including 2 cocktails and a sake tasting menu.
Ok
Went to celebrate my birthday 2 years ago. Had a wonderful experience!!! Planning on going again soon. The food is awesome as well as the well decorated room. Definitely a great upscale option once in Rio.
Brilliant, upmarket Asian restaurant. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we treated so well. The best duck pancakes Ive ever had!
Excellent. Service by Marina 10/10.
Very disappointed. Passionate service and nice location but nothing one star about the food experience. Have had better sushi meals at an average Japanese restaurant. Left feeling disapointed and ripped off by the gap between the one star promotion and the reality. Hope the management can step up the quality or stop pushing the misleading one star message
How can this place have one Michelin star!? I dont know if the Michelin judges were bribed or do they simply have no taste re. Asian food or!? The worst Michelin starred restaurant Ive been to in my life. And one of the worst Asian restaurants in my life. Worst xiao long bao Ive ever had in my life, no soup, thick skin and the lobster filling inside was almost bitter. An insult to xiao long bao. The other dim sums we tried were also very so so. Sushis were super mediocre, not very fresh. The cucumber that came with the crispy duck were old and soggy, and it was the cucumber skin. When we asked if they had better cucumber, the waiter asked us oh you prefer fresh cucumber? Does any one actually prefer stale cucumber? I dont get it. The duck itself was worse than chinese takeouts in London. A random street diner in Asia does better food, avoid this place if youve tried real Japanese or Chinese food. The only thing good was the sake. The waiters were all very nice though.
A supremely disappointing experience. We tried the 11 course tasting menu and stopped after the fifth because the dishes were uninteresting and the service was poor. The dishes we then ordered took a while to be served. The manager came over to apologize for the delay, telling us he was sorry about this but "as Im sure you can see, there is a wave of problems in the restaurant tonight" (commenting on the multiple other tables that were obviously displeased and were complaining about their experience). When the dishes finally arrived, it was obvious that they had been sitting in the kitchen for a while and had just been reheated- the curry had a skin on the top of the sauce and the rice had gone hard. We would not recommend this and will not go back.
Very surprising to see that this restaurant got one star Michelin. Nothing was up to the standard for an average Japanese restaurant. The sushis were mediocre, not very fresh. The special cucumber with plum was awful, with dry and soggy cucumber skin. The dumplings were sub par as well, couldnt tell there was foie gras in the dumpling. And worst was the crispy Sichuan duck:couldnt see how it could be related with Sichuan. The duck was dry and tasteless, cucumber dry and soggy again. I think this was my worst starred Michelin experience ever. You can find dozens of better Japanese restaurants in Sao Paulo and hundreds in London, and way less expensive as well.
Deserves its Michelin star...
