Restaurante La Olla Cartagenera - Caribbean restaurant in Arjona, Colombia
Delicious and good quality food
one of the best traditional restaurants in Cartagena... a mix of local food and arabic food thats one of a kind. Been coming here for 30 years and its still and always an amazing experience.
Delicious food. Great service.
Awesome food and wonderful service. Had a great experience.
The menu was so diverse . The atmosphere was so friendly. Great singer, great sangria and the food was prepared perfectly. A must go place in Cartagena
La Olla Cartagenera is a must visit, traditional cuisine integrating Lebanese, african and criolla gastronomy...Loves the Sierra and the Mojarra, the civiche on the other hand stay away from it
I think the atmosphere was great. This was definitely an upscale restaurant. The service was top notch although thrle food and drink took a while to come out. I really enjoyed the appetizers. The fried snapper was good. However the coconut rice was too sweet for me. I think the food overall was good but not "great". Wanted to treat myself to a fancy dinner. I have had less expensive food with more flavor. As a foreigner I thought tip was included in the price. My food and drink cost 88,000 but was charged an extra 12,000 for tip. Just be aware of this. Overall good experience but Id opt for a every day restaurant because Im more into great tasting food at a reasonable price. But if you want great service, nice atmosphere and upscale experience, this is for you.
This restaurant was excellent….food was super tasty…staff was very friendly and provided good service. Be aware, they do take their time to bring the food (which is not a bad thing since they are making it)..
Nice place ,with same local flavor. Lots of seafood options. Services good
Food was delicious and our waiter was amazing!
Very nice upscale restaurant in Bocagrande Cartagena. The food there is amazing. We all got different plates and every one of them was fantástic.. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
The esthetic was BEAUTIFUL and the food was great. My friends and I fell in love with the coconut rice and requested it at every restaurant thereafter! Service was a bit slower than were used to but they were very nice and helpful. Definitely utilize Google translate here!
I pretty much just ordered anything off the menu that didnt have meat. Falafel, spinach empanadas and cheese empanadas. No complaints!
D E L I C I O U S ! 🤤Highly recommend it if you are looking for traditional Cartagena food.
This restaurant is one of the hiding gastronomic treasures of Cartagena de Indias.Great combinations local cuisine and Arabic gastronomy!
This is not as good as we thought it was going to be. I had high expectations, but it was horrible. DO NOT EXPECT TO EAT AMERICAN STEAK IN COLOMBIA. Fried fish is your best choice, lol. Colombians dont eat steak as we eat it here in the US. There are way better places than this one dont fall for the amount of reviews.
Take a pitcher of red sangria . It was a killer. Really goodAlso seafood was out of this world .What a great food . First rate
Best restaurants in Cartagena we enjoy this place with Hollywood actress and producer thank you guys .. please come again 🙏❤️👍
Its a very expensive place for the overall experience that they offer, the dishes are way to overpriced, including even the extra sour cream sauce, like $2.50 just for a little "suero costeño" the food its okay but again nothing to justify those prices, the service is very good but the downside is that it took like 40 minutes for the food to arrive, overall nice place for a one time experience if money is not an issue...
This is the best food in Cartagena. You wont go wrong what ever you order. I took the sea food soup and friends got steak. It was all amazing. Amazing service as well 👏
This was supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Cartagena but It was very disappointing. The service was ok but the food was not what we expected. Instead, we highly recommend Donde Soco.
Great food and ambiance! I went twice within a week. The Pargo Rojo and Langosta Sabores was great. This will be the first place I think to eat from whenever Im in Bocagrande.
Seafood is Frozen. We came here for lunch from a suggestion from our hotel manager, Big Mistake.!We ordered the seafood platter, at about $50.00. We were surprised at the SMALL serving sizes. The calamari was unrecognizable, I had to ask our waiter if this, indeed was calamari, “yes”. The filet of fish, was sized about 3 X5 “ the size of an index card, and tasted about the same.I grew up in So. California, so I know what fresh fish is. This was frozen for sure. Our lobster was pathetic ~ frozen beyond it’s expiration date, It was rubbery, tasteless and mushy. Our waiter did confess that it is frozen.I would rather eat Mrs. Paul’s Fish-sticks, than this slop. Good Luck,.
Honestly if I could give it a 0 I would. Horrible service. They didn’t have half of the food I ordered and they didn’t cook any of our meals right. Most of them were cold and the other half was not cooked properly. I honestly did not enjoy my experience at all. Don’t go seriously, yet the coconut lemonade was actually good. Other than that it’s was not appreciated.
An elegant restaurant in the old city. The menu includes seafood and also chicken and steaks.A good place to enjoy a relaxing dinner with a good glass of wine.
Comforting classics served in an unassuming environment. Excellent service and good food!
Very nice elegant restaurant, food was delicious. Perfectly prepared, very attractive. Had red sangaria was also very tasty. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Cartagena. Prices very reasonable, cost around 45- 50 American dollars, for my wife and I. Located in the heart of Centro. A+
The food was good, and the service was great. The portions were a nice size. We have the local spiny lobster and fried red snapper. The garlic sauce was very "garlicky" but very good. The fish was lightly breaded and cooked/served whole.
Great food, white table top and very pleasant servers. This place has seafood and middle eastern food. Id highly recommend the Middle Eastern dishes. We had them two different nights and they never disappointed.
We got the bone in snapper with shrimp sauce and it was good but not great. The sauce is a rather thick gravy and it was a bit heavy and stewy. I cant recall the other fish we got but it was delicious! It was a boneless fillet and it was buttery and flavorful and came with rice and a slaw. Would recommend ordering the latter as it was cheaper taboot.
A very good restaurant here in Cartagena. It’s probably one of the most expensive ones and worth it. The fish was excellent and the langostinos were very good also. The service was top notch. If you are looking for one of the best here, make a reservas and come!
Really lovely, cosy and charming place. Large menu, from local to alternative cuisine, my fritto misto and tenderloin steak with taboule was just perfect. So tender !Excellent service, must have been place...just enjoy
Food was very good.. I def recommend it if you are in the area..
Do not trust the facade, this restaurant decor is super nice and the food is amazing and fresh.
the food is nothing to brag about. the ambiance of the restaurant is great. the server forgot one of our orders and it never arrived. having lunch there was a positive experience. i just feel like the food should have been better for the price.
The service was excellent. However, the food left a lot to be desired. One guest bnb orders filet mignon and receives a pair of round tough beef patties covered in a brown gravy. Wow.. it was so bad. My fish was undercooked and my wifes shrimp pasta was over salted and over cooked. The shrimp were chewy like rubber. The price for this disaster dinning experience was outraged. Way over priced for what you get.
Great food. Fast service. Large portions for reasonable prices
Great atmosphere and beautiful venue, but the food quality here was shockingly bad. Cold fries, Salisbury steak masquerading as Filet mignon and cold fries. The ceviche had poor texture and I was charged for a water they never bought. Would not return.
Enjoyed this restaurant so much we went back. Excellent. Menu and the decor is awesome. Staff friendly and speak English. Wonderful atmosphere. Cannot fault the place
I chose this restaurant based on a couple of reviews where people spoke about repeat visits. Why? The staff are nice. But the food, unfortunately was awful. Three dishes were ordered and none tasted or looked like there was any thought or care put into what was served. I avoid posting negative reviews. But in this case I feel an obligation to warn people.
This restaurant shall be visited if you come to Cartagena because the quality of food and service go above and beyond. I came to this place twice for lunch and was never disappointed once.I had the cazuela of mariscos, lomo cartagenero and fillete Margaret on my two visits and was blown away by the flavors of these dishes, trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Menu showed fried red snapper fish dish as market rate. So we asked the server the price and she told us one price. Then we went in and and a different server came and we asked the price and he gave us a totally different price for the same menu dish. We told him that was not the price then he agreed to the price that was originally told us. I did not expect that we have to negotiate the price at established restaurant. So was a bit annoyed.Perhaps it is our initial experience with the wait staff that influenced our taste experience. The fried red snapper with rice dish was just okay. Chicken and rice was not that great and feels like eating fancy cat food out of can. Both dishes were over priced.
Had to go back for a second time because the food was so good! Amazing service, great atmosphere!
Great restaurant to get some traditional Colombian food. The seafood was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made our little ones birthday a wonderful experience.
I guess it is a classic restaurents here. Good seafood and service. Not very crowded at the moment we arrive there at 8. Unlike some restaurents in downtown, crowded, packed....
Solid prices, fresh and tasty seafood. I enjoyed their sea bass ceviche and fish soup. They have a lot of great options on their menu and service was great. I ordered a lemonade and it was pretty sour, but the waitress noticed I was not drinking it, asked me what my thoughts were, and made me another. I appreciated that extra mile since I did not have to say anything.
The best meal we ate in Cartagena was here. In the United States this meal would easily top $200. We paid $60. The servers were professional and unobtrusive. Dont let the outside fool you, this is white tablecloths and the best service. Prices are affordable compared to what you would pay for the same preparation in the United States. You should definitely include this as a Cartagena dining experience.
By far the best restaurant in Cartagena. Every single mouth watering bite is delicious. Superior quality ingredients and dishes made with love. Service is impeccable. Step inside & you are blissed away into a tranquil world full of indulgence & delights.
This was our first to try restaurant in cartagena and it was the best, the sea food was amazing, the service was great too.
So yummy! Bass with garlic shrimp & coconut rice. Best restaurant in Cartagena. Romantic atmosphere with waterfall and lovely ambiance. Warm bread and whipped butter to start. Ice cold beer & an extensive wine menu. 3 dinners here in 23 day vacation. Treated like royalty - absolutely lovely!
