Restaurante La Caribeña - Caribbean restaurant in Quesada, Costa Rica
Very friendly staff, good portion and very tasty food
The food was really delicious, great value for your money!
The staff is nice, is my second time visiting and I was somehow disapointed, some of the flags of the caribean contries fell off or were removed, paint is fading and make the place look older, the food was still delicious but very pricey for the amount of food and there were flies everywhere, couldnt eat confortably, drinks were very expensive, didnt offered much if any of the traditional costa rican caribean food just some seafood you can buy anywhere else for half of the price. Not worth the trip to ever go there again, but if you are in that zone and feel like seafood and dont mind the price, the taste is very very good, they just should take care of the place better and offer more for your money
Best experience Ive had at a restaurant in AWHILE. The food was so tasty and flavorful. Ive always hated beans and rice but I had a little bit at this restaurant and was immideatly hooked. They offered us to try a little bit of their home-made hotsauce and it was too good! It was a little spicy for me so they even gave me a FREE glass of milk. The people working there were so friendly and talkative and made my time there worth the while. The food is a little pricey but I can 100% assure you it is worth it. I ended up staying for dessert because it was so great and I did not regret it! I definitely would urge anyone to get the tres leches because it was so moist and delicious. This restaurant is somewhere I would absolutely recommend and would go back to!
Always fantastic...stop nearly every trip to La Fortuna. Love the local beer options and the nightly specials are never a miss.
Visited for lunch after a safari float trip with canoa adventures. As a family of four, was very child friendly and welcoming. One of our boys had chicken tenders (from the kids menuand the other three of us shared the seafood platter. This was amazing- it featured a whole snapper, Shrimps, crab, half a lobster, plus class, Octopus etc. All incredibly fresh, well cooked and delicious. Great service, very friendly, and reasonable price. Very much recommended.
Absolutely delicious. Came here with my kids after a full day of excursions and everything we had was AMAZING. I had the mahi mahi special with plantains, rice and 3 jumbo shrimp. My youngest had the fish sticks (of courseand my teenager had the penne with seafood. The service was outstanding. It was the perfect ending to our long day and honestly the best food Ive had in Costa Rica. Highly recommend!
Loved it. First restaurant that had well seasoned food weve tried since we arrived. Didnt disappoint, I will return tomorrow.
The food was tasty! So good that I went back two more times.
I had the best vegan dish ever. It’s really delicious 😋
Very nice Caribean food, only reason I dont give it 5 starts is because their rice is a little on the dry side.Chicken and shrimps are nicely seasoned, and patacones are nice.A lot of diferent local and national beer options.
Service was excellent and the room was pleasant. My grilled shrimp came with shells still on, and the shrimp not cleaned of dirt. It was a big mess trying to get the shrimp out of the shell!! My husband liked his red snapper.
The seafood soup with coconut milk was memorably fantastic. Perfectly seasoned! Dilan, the server, provided wonderful service as well.
Food is great! But The waiter tried to push their house dishes that are not on the menu. The price is ridiculously higher than the menu. Tourist is be aware
If you want to have a very good experience and the oportunity to talk directly with the Chef .. Delicious, fresh and very good price
With all the restaraunt choice I wont back a second time.
Delicious, delicious food! You can taste the love! I had the coconut shrimp & it was 10/10 Great service & delicious crafted cocktails! You wont regret this place!
Surprisingly good restaurant. The food was really good and the service also fantastic. Would definitely recommend and look forward to going back.
Ok, I’m from Costa Rica originally but live in LA now. We were looking for good food and well we found it! We tried a few restaurants around but nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to this place. And trust me I know my Caribbean food. He wanted a surf and turf and they made it for him. They started us off with a couple of free chili güaros. Needless to say the prices are ridiculously low and the service is amazing. A MUST!
Good food, nice cozy place. Super friendly and attentive staff. A little bit spendy, but huge portions. Go there if youre very hungry, want an ice cold beverage on a hot day, and want to feel very welcome.
The food was good, but a little overpriced. This place is usually empty and still takes a long time for the food to arrive. Dont go if in a hurry.
I ordered the fish Casado. The beans and rice that came with the Casado wasn’t fresh. Beans were sour- going bad. Rice was hard. The hearts of palm salad was really fresh. I also ordered the patacones. Patacones were good and fresh. Fish had a river water taste.
Best food and drinks in town. We ate here every night of our visit. Abel and Ronaldo smiles and welcoming energy made each visit an adventurous experience. Did I say the food is super delicious?
Amazing service Ronaldo did a great jobFood is good can be better just needs flavor but over all great experiences thank you
So the food was good. 3 stars because of the service and customer service are awful and it was too expensive. We ate there today but the story starts two days ago. We arrived at 7:30 (they close at 9 PMand they told us they could not see us because they were out of gas (what? But okay The reviews were good and our Airbnb host told us to try it since we are not going to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica so we went today. We ordered ceviche, coconut milk soup and the Caribbean style lobster. Ceviche and coconut milk seafood were delicious. We waited about 10-15 minutes and called over the waiter (who hadn’t checked on us since ordering 40 minutes agoand said how long till the lobster and he was shocked and said takes 10 Minutes to cool, I said no, I ordered it and even asked you if it was easy to eat? Oh I’m sorry he said but I promised my wife some lobster, soooo we reordered. Was good. It was quite expensive compared to other places. 54$ but other places we paid less than 30. All in all, try other places imo.
Nice Caribbean vibes restaurant with great meal options. Fast and friendly service, rice and beans was tasty and good portions. I definately recommend it
Great seafood. Try local craft beer too - it is something truly special.
Warm welcome and delicious food. We took a delicious Caribeña Especial cocktail for the apéritive and then a “Mixed Seafood Dish For Two” (fish, shrimps, octopus, lobster and clams), served with rice, French fries and salad. Everything was delicious and we very much enjoyed the atmosphere. Pura Vida!
Stopped in for a quick dinner before a tour and just WOW! Juan, our server was stellar, helpful, friendly and attentive. The fried whole fish was the best we have had anywhere! The shrimp with the dish were huge, cooked perfectly, and almost lobster-like in their deliciousness! Was a bit sad we had not went here earlier in our trip as I would have eaten there again!
My wife and I ate here for lunch Saturday while on our honeymoon. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. They were extra friendly, fast service and the food was fresh. Highly recommend checking this place out while in La Fortuna.
One of my favorite restaurants in La Fortuna. The food and drinks were amazing.
An awesome place to relax and listen to Caribbean music. The food is mouth watering and the hospitality was wonderful. Thank you Jose Miguel and family for the 5 stars ⭐️ service! We will definitely come back! Pura Vida!!!!
The food was great. Being Jamaican the authenticity of the food was remarkable. One of the coldest Red Stripe I’ve had.
Wow is all I have to say. My fiancé and I had dinner here a week ago and it took the cake for one of the best restaurants we experienced on our Costa Rican vacation. I had the whole fried Red Snapper which was superb! My fiancé had the fried breaded tilapia, and it was also magnificent. the customer service was great and the drinks were tasty also. I would 100% go back and recommend. If you are in the area and want to have some fresh sea food - COME HERE!
My seafood pasta was great! We ordered the ceviche appetizer which tasted amazing, but my only critique would be that they bring more chips to scoop with since we ran out halfway through, our awesome server did bring more for us though. Great and friendly service! Good quality, great taste, and freshly made hot sauce! 🌶 😃
This place is great, super tasty food and very fresh. Great service too!
We loved the food, it was a true taste of the Caribbean cuisine.Service was professional and authentic.Highly recommended.
Good food. Caribbean food is similar to Costa Rican food but they use more coconut milk. Great rice with coconut milk. Seafood stew is good too (with coconut milk). Wish we’d been hungry enough to try the whole fish. They had fresh red snapper that evening but we were look for something lighter. Good service.
Great food. Outdoor restaurant (covered). The staff great. Server really helpful. We ended up totally changing our order and he was very gracious about it. Would definitely recommend, come again.
Delicious food at this restaurant the service was fantastic and the ceviche was perfect. Prices are good. We were definitely full at the end of our meal. They even gave us a small shot of a traditional Costa Rican drink.
The food was delicious! I got the casados with pork stew/beef stew and it was delicious. The meat was tender and rich in flavor. Everything on my plate was delicious. My husband ordered the rice with Caribbean chicken and he enjoyed it as well! The ceviche mixto was also great!
The mixed ceviche was amazing! So flavorful and fresh! All 4 main dishes that we got were delicious so I dont think you can go wrong with anything on the menu ! I got a pork stew traditional carribean plate that was this sweet tender pork pieces with a hint of spice. Mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. The seafood soup was almost like Thai tomyum soup. The chicken was so tender. The host was super friendly and attentive. Would recommend to others for sure. They mentioned moving down the 2 blocks soon to a larger place which speaks to how successful they have been !
The best Caribbean food on the region.
The food was here was fantastic! Ceviche with shrimp, fish, and octopus was really good, served with plantain chips. The pork stew plate was very flavorful and had a very very good sauce, tiny bit of spice, and a little sweet. Also had the mahi mahi dish (Dorado), that dish had an incredible sauce for the mahi and shrimp as well. The server was super friendly, and even gave us some shots of some bloody Mary rum stuff on the house.
Excellent local food. Had the whole fish with rice and beans. Highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly service and the waiter spoke enough English that ordering was easy.
The food was spectacular. We ordered the rice and beans with red snapper and chicken. Both were incredible. The red snapper was cooked to perfection and it had a homemade sauce on top that was delicious. The chicken was super tender and very very tasty. Also the actual place is very colorful and has a very relaxed vibe. La Caribeña is a must if you’re ever in the area!
Chicken and rice was pretty good. We paid $36 for two dinners and 2 cokes. Kinda pricey in my book. 3 stars based on price.
I had one of the best meals of my life. Whole Red Snapper with Caribbean sauce. Service was exceptional, the food was awesome, and the hot sauce is to die for. Can’t go wrong at Restaurante La Caribeña.
Life changing. We tried the seafood soup with coconut milk and breaded fish entree. It was the best dishes we had during our 4 days there. Incredible.
We came here around 10pm on a Tuesday and they were still open..This place is a gem!!Their fried fish special was the best Ive had.Customer service was also exceptional. The prices are a bit higher but they are located in arenal and everything here is expensive. Just a beautiful atmosphere with nice music.
