Restaurante Carmen De Aben Humeya - Fine dining restaurant in Granada, Spain
Disappointing experience. We had 4 items. The white gazpacho was quite tasty if too creamy, but the Panko fried aubergines just tasted like fried cheese. They would have benefited from a heavier drizzling of the honey sauce. The mains were particularly inedible- ox entrecôte was tough and tasteless, and the freshly netted tuna tasted like it had been soaked in water for too long. Even the mango sauce could not lift it. Overall, the cooking was mediocre, and we couldn’t understand the many positive reviews online.Although views of the Alhambra were gorgeous, the indoor sitting area is airless and there were mosquitoes. Think you should contact the staff directly and beforehand if you want terrace sitting. The staff refused to allow us a terrace table despite us having booked almost a month ahead, and there were tables that were unoccupied the entire 90 min that we were there. Staff were generally friendly, but maybe because of the language barrier, there was no attempt to introduce the dishes at all.
So incredible we ate there twice in one day. Amazing food, views, and friendly service (especially Natalia)
Amazing dining experience with the crazy view. Wines were good and the food quality were superb. Would definitely recommend
This restaurant is a gem. It is a very romantic spot. Dine in the shadow of amazing views of Alhambra all lit up. The food was very good, portions reasonable and was an overall excellent value. The service was great, particularly the charming Natalia with her warm hospitality. Highly recommend.
Stunning view, paired with a delicious dinner, and excellent service. Highlights:-The ‘Ajo blanco with mango’ is a fantastic twist on a Spanish staple.-The eggplant and honey also deserves a try.-The service, very friendly and competent.Highly recommended.
Lovely. Gourmet dinner plus spectacular view of Alhambra. Great service.
We came to the restaurant for the view but end up having a great experience ! Good, wine and service were perfect! One of the best meal of our trip
Wow! Everything from welcoming to dessert was just top notch. Service is really nice, polite and elegant. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the cheeses with the mango jam (so yummy!to the Moroccan risotto and rabo de toro. We were also brave enough to order the desserts sample…every bit extraordinary, specially the cinnamon cake and cheesecake. And what to say about the view from their lovely interior terrace!! 😍😍😍 judge for yourself but this is a must for a special occasion with breathtaking views of the Alhambra at night
Very especial place to take either dinner or lunch just book in Advance in summer as you could face overbooking is nice service and as well I would say the serviceGood average quality and very nice service on top of the best restaurants in the townPlease hold angry for the desserts very nice to take the end with a good dessert
Fantastic service - knowledgable, helpful, and very friendly. The food was delicious, especially the goat cheese salad and the tasting dessert platter. The view is really worth it!
Nice food and view but it could be much better to impact users as an unique experience. I think duck was too dry unfortunatelly. Cheers!
Very good service, kind staff and very good food. Not that many options in the menu and a bit on the pricey side of restaurants in Granada, but definitely worth it if you are looking for a great restaurant with views for a special occassion.I cant rate them but with 5*.
Amazing! Food, drinks, and staff. We started out with some cheese, friend eggplant and drinks, all so tasty. For dinner we ordered oxtail with cheese puree(myselfand the duck breast with berries (my husband). All absolutely delicious and we were STUFFED.We mustered up some strength to eat just a bit more for dessert: banana and Persian tea creme brulee. Absolutely delicious, however the texture was a bit more somewhere between creme Englais and creme brulee- not quite set.I only wish we could have been seated outside during out dinner service, because the lit Alhambra was spectacular.Thank you for the delicious meal!
Great food and drinks! Top views and service! Ill definitely go back again soon!
Only positives were the view (only if you sit outsideand the kind waiters. Food was very medium to poor, interior was terribel. We made an reservation over a week ago, but unluckily we were place inside... The table cloth had stains on it and was clearly very old. To conclude, its a tourist trap and you should only go if you like to spend the evening looking at the Alhambra, but dont expect anything of the food.
We went for dinner in the evening. Disappointed we had to sit inside as it was a lovely warm evening and the restaurant was empty. There was actually only one other table there from the time we were there at opening until 11pm when we leftThe food is very expensive for what you get.. I wouldn’t have minded as much if we got to make use of the lovely gardens. The prawn carpaccio starter (€22had too much of a fishy smell and taste. We couldn’t eat it. The sea bass was small and lacking flavour for €23. The brownie was served cold with ice cream and was disappointing. Staff were super lovely though.
Go for the fantastic view of the Alhambra but stay for the great food and super friendly service small but decent wine list
Beautiful location but the food was not great and service was mediocre. The view makes up for it though. Nevertheless, would not go back.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing views of the Alhambra. The food was excellent.
Beautiful view and delicious food
Great food. Great service. Great view. Great atmosphere. 7/5 Would go again.
the best view to aee ALHambra palace at night .very friendly staff.food is excellent
One of the best restaurants I made in the last years! It was one of the top 10 most romantic restaurant in the world by zagat and I understand why!The view is breath taking. Must be done when sunset
Didnt really like the food. Was a bit to posh for young people. Kids out there, watch out... Id have rather gone hungry than eaten this. Worst food Ive ever eaten. Reccomend for the adventurous adult though.
You are paying for the view. Food is very expensive and decidedly average (although well presented). This is for tourists. Much better food for lower prices at places locals would eat.So, if you are willing to pay through the nose for calm, beautiful surroundings, stunning views of the Alhambra and dont care about what you eat, its a goer.
Excellent food, ambiance and service with incredible views of the Alhambra illuminated at night; a perfect evening in Granada.
The view is beautiful with excellent food, and the meal was completed by wonderful service of the restaurant! Our best experience in Granada!
Great view and service. The view is fantastic. It gets rather chilly during winter night. Food was great and enjoyed the meal.
This restaurant, a short distance from the Mirador San Nicolás, offers fine dining with wonderful views of the Alhambra and friendly, attentive staff.
Tourist trap!!! Worst possible food and service. My wife was asked what she wanted to drink, then the waitress left immediately, forgetting me. I was left very puzzled, speechless. Her colleague saw that and came in to help me out. But when I started to talk in English, he also ran away and I was left alone again. Super weird. The red wine must have been open for days, I tried a, sip of it and decided to stay with beer instead. The food was horrible, the price is super high. The toilets dont have seats, like at the train station. The view is very nice.
Wonderful lunch overlooking the Alhambra. Friendly service . Mix of Spanish with Moroccan influence food. I had a sort of tagine of chicken but with rice and partner had oxtail . Great wine recommended by friendly waiter . Puds lovely €85 for bottle of wine and 2 courses each plus tapas bread and free lemonade
Literally the most amazing meal I’ve had in Spain. A meal at a Carmen in Granada on a sunny day right as the sun is setting on the Alhambra is a truly unforgettable experience. The food here was outstanding! The seasoned tomatoes were excellent. The Iberian pork was phenomenal and THE CHEESECAKE OH MY GOSH. BEST CHEESECAKE OF MY LIFE.
Amazing food with outstanding service. This place is pricy. 3 set course is around 50 euro per head. Must try their beer Alhambra 1925 if I remember right its outstanding. Also dont forget you get a nice view from the garden to Alhambra
Fantastic dinner with superb view of the Alhambra. Highly recommended.
Rip off for a view! I came here with my husband on my birthday mostly for the great view on the Alhambra. While this is true, there are MANY great views of the Alhambra all around the city for free and from other restaurants. We arrived at 8:30 and the restaurant was empty, only one couple seated plus a walk in that arrived in front of us. The walk in got a front row seating while we got the back row. We asked (since it was completely emptyto move closer for the view and was refused. The reason was because we booked “last” however the walk in got a better table? We decided to sit and have a glass before deciding to stay or not and realized after an hour still NO ONE ARRIVED. The waitresses seemed inexperienced in customer service and unhelpful/unsympathetic. We ended up going to Carmen el Agua for dinner instead
Good food. Good view. Amazing views!!!!!!! Pricey thou.
Spectacular. The view of the Alhambra is amazing, as is the patio. The food was excellent (I had the tuna rare, was delightful with the tomatoand the service was amazing. The two waitresses we had were so sweet and thoughtful, they really made our dinner special. I would definitely recommend a dinner here with the ones you love!
Fabulous views and food! Booked with on the fork and got 40pc discount for lunch but food and view was worth paying full price!
Beautiful and stunning view and great food!! One of the best restaurants in Granada — maybe in whole Spain.
Fantastic food & incredible view, but a little chilly this time of year (November).
The best spot to enjoy fantastic view of Alhambra in romantic, cozy setting.Service is a top notch, wonderful ambience, good food.
This place is a must stop if youre ever here. Amazing view to compliment the great food. Definitely adds to the magic of Alhambra
30 to 40 euro per person. The views are unbeatable, the food is pretty good, but, like most restaurants in this touristy spot seem to be, the service is lacking and the food is overpriced. I do not recommend the lamb. It was mostly bone and the muscat wine was not that. Im not sure what I was brought... cheap sauvignon maybe. The waitress was distracted and not organized. She forgot things several times. Im pissed I spent so much for so little.
We had the braised cheek and a vegetarian plate. The cheek was perfect. Slow-cooked cheek is popular both in Spain and the UK and this was very well done. The veg plate was good but not special. Both dishes were pricey, and the portions were not generous. But its a lovely place with some great dishes, and a nice view of the Alhambra, so Id recommend except for those on a budget.
Good food and lovely view of the alhambra. A bit expensive but thats expected when you have a nice view.
The chefs are young and committed to their craft. Amazingly well prepared and the aubergine, beef cheek and scallops, hake and dessert sampler were all spectacular. Of course, the view is best of all.
Stoped by during the early afternoon after a long walk in the old town and were alone with only the two of us and the staff. Not a tapas bar but splendid wines and a little desert (free of chargeand the view, the view!Try it after the walk to the top of the old town, worth the effort!!
New chef in the House! Everything is better, way better than before. Previously the place just worth for the localization the views but not the food. And now the chef is revitalizing this amazing restaurant! Is a must if youre in Granada!
Excellent food in a very cozy environment. The service as well was excellent. We had watercress salad with goat cheese as a starter and for the main dish a risotto with coconut flavor and mushrooms and the red tuna filet. For the invitation some very delicious salad was served. The chardonnay was good at a moderate price. All in all we really enjoyed the evening.
One of the best meals I have ever had. Oxtail entrecoat, calamari, chicken were our 3 choices. All exquisite. Entrecoate was the best IMHO. 2 salads, bottle of wine, 3 main courses, 2 desserts, all under 120 euros. If youre in Granada you must eat here. Forgot to mention the view of the Alcazar is unmatched.
