Restaurant Zaffran - Indian restaurant in Linz, Austria
The food is really good and the people working there are more than friendly! They also take care of the allergens and you are always able to ask someone what exactly goes in and if there is possible cross-contamination. We go there time in and time out again and will continue to do so!
Very friendly staff and delicious fresh food. Large portions, many vegan/vegeterian and gluten-free options. Allergens listed in the menu. Reservation recommended. Take away possible.
The food was delicious 😋Very friendly
Very tasty Indian Cuisine food. I cant compare with other Indian Cuisine Restaurants because it was my first time eating this type of food, but it was amazing.
One of the best restaurant in Europe. Food was very tasty and hospitality too. Dont forget to order Paneer Masala if you visit the restaurant, its awesome
My wife and I ordered Rajasthani thali. Opted for a medium spicy level. We both are Indians living in the US but are quite capable of handling medium spice levels. The food that came out was VERY spicy. We could hardly eat any of the curries in the thali.I understand that mistakes happen but what was annoying is that even after informing the staff about it they just didnt do anything about it. Not even offered to replace it. That was very disappointing. We ordered gulab jamun and drank a lot of water to relieve the heat. Gulab Jamun was good. The masala chai was ok as well.I wish they showed some empathy.
Great, authentic food. Taste explosion. Cooked to perfection. Could be a bit more spicy for Indian cuisine but thats a very subjective opinion and there is the green sauce to spice things up :)
Place is nice location, make staff was kind and friendly but female staff was like she doesnt want to there. Chicken was cooked long time ago just mixed with palka, really bad tast and rice supose to basmati but it was very low quality. Lassi and salad was better. Will not go there again.
I went two times in last two months, fully reserved for 3hours..not sure if they do this only for Indian
One of the best Indian restaurants in all of Austria. Owners are very sweet and kind and the food is amazing. As an Indian the food here reminds you of food back home in India. Will definitely be back for more
Amazing food and service. I usually love very spicy indian food but this time it felt rather mild, but all in a good way. I could really taste the flavours of the dish and it was delicious. The restaurant is owned by a very nice family. They are very polite. I highly recommend this place if you love Indian food.
It was quite good but dishes were a bit salty than normal. I love Indian cuisine and eat in different countries. So I have options to compare. But overall good.
I looked at the rating and went to this restaurant. But I got heavy disappointed. Not friendly staff and the ordered food was really really worst. I think they dont know "what is real Indian food". We ordered masala tea and it was nearly like hot water and Mango lassi also was not good. Not recommend this restaurant at all.
Worst Indian restaurant ever. No test not a friendly staff and test and method of dishes is not up to the mark even mango lassi is so watery
Excellent food and hospitality. Owners took special care of our vegetarian dietary needs.
Balle balle top food desi khana.. 5 star food and 7 star service. We will be back for sure.. highly recommended as an Indian my self
Ordered two Punjabi thali expecting to try bit of everything and two mango lassi. In the menu it was written "Rogan Josh". It tasted nothing like Rogan josh. Tandoori roti was thinner as thinner as it gets. The saffron chicken korma was weirdly red. It seemed everything was precooked a day before and just warmed and served. If people are paying they expect bit of quality food. I hope the quality of food improves.
First of thank you very much for your hospitality. We loved the food very much. I would definitely recommend this place. The quality and quantity of the food was good.
I am an Indian from city of Mumbai who loves to eat and I can say the food is authentic tasting Indian food.Food quality and portions are very good for the prices.Location is also near city center so easily accessible. And ofcourse who can miss the hospitality of warm and very friendly Host (Gaurav And Ravita). Will like to see them grow keeping the same food quality as they have now.
Really delcious food and friendly staff. Definitely my favorite Indian Restaurant! They also offer a variety of tasty vegetarian dishes ;-)
Very Good Indian food. Very high Quality!Tried Butter Chicken and Daal Makhni, both were great. Also a very friendly and helpful service. Thank you!
Very good food, very friendly people! Thumbs up
Finger licking Food! Expertise in quality service.Highly recommended restaurant for Indian Delicacy!
Superb Indian food; was delightfully surprised to eat such good Indian food in Austria as most other places in Europe do not have good Indian restaurants. Service is exceptionally good and they treat you like a family and not customer. Highly recommended.
Very nice staff. Good lunch menu
The staff is wonderful and the food is great as well.
Fabulous and authentic food and wonderful service. Would highly recommend.
One of the best Indian meals Ive had in Austria. Friendly service, tasty food and a comfortable atmosphere.
Went there for dinner one evening. The food was very good, the waitress friendly. Recommend to try the Turbo Naan, if you like to eat spicy. Came here twice in two days because we were so happy with both the service and food. Great host who makes the effort to make sure everyone has a great time. Well worth the money and will be coming back if I return to Linz again.
Ive been here almost every time I have come to Linz. Friendly staff, good prices, and amazing northern Indian food. Will come back!
The people who served the food were warm, welcoming and appropriate to the Indian culture that places the guest equivalent to God. Sadly, the food was a big let down. The Dal makhani that we ordered was so watery that we were left searching for the dal/lentils and also the Makhan/butter. Then the chole masala was just boiled chikpeas with no trace of Indian spices. The rice that was served appeared to be Basmati but lacked the aroma. Last but not the least, the ginger tea was just hot, boiled water with what looked like tea leaves and no flavour of ginger what so ever. As with a speciality restaurant, the dinner left a deep hole in my pocket.
The service at Zaffran was absolutely awful, and the food wasn’t much better 🤦🏻♀️ when we asked for another round of drinks we were rudely told to wait, however the restaurant wasn’t even busy!? Not attentive in the slightest, it’s like we were an inconvenience for them 🤦🏻♀️ the food was average, and massively over priced! Won’t be going back that’s for sure 👋🏼
The food and the service was good and the staff was friendly. However, the food is really overpriced. Especially the entree which consisted of three slices of fried couragettes and two forks of salad was way to expensive. Also the soda with lemon for 3,40€ is relatively pricey compared to other restaurants. All in all a nice place but a little expensive for what was offered.
Best indian cuisine ever! Tasty and rich.
Very rude behaviour of owner. We two of us went for dinner, the owner at the front desk told very rudely no tables available. Yes we agree if no tables available he can’t do anything but the way he conveyed is very rude and unprofessional. Never expected this behaviour from a fellow Indian!!
Very very disappointing!! The portion of the food served was very less as compared to the prices and the taste does not meet the expectations. And if you are a vegetarian, there are very few choices you would find in the menu. Would NOT recommend this restaurant.
Very good Indian food with very nice people.
Good food. Good service and convenient location
It was a surprise!Good food and reasonable price(around 40€ for 2)!Service was nice, they gave me an English menu when they realized were speaking English. I highly recommend Mango lassi! It was the best I ever had. I in general do not like spicy food nor Indian food. But I gave it a try out of curiosity and its worthy. I had Naam in Singapore and it is what I always liked, so I was hoping to get the same here.We ordered an appertize, "Papardam" which was crispy crackers with 3 different sauces. For main, we had "Seekh Kebab" and "Bhuna Goasht"The mango sauce with papardam is quite intetesting, the white sauce is spicy, its after taste is strong. We prefered Bhuna Goasht(non spicyover Seekh Kebab(spicybecause Seekh Kebab was pretty dried. In contrast, Bhuna Goasht, the lamb was tender, nicely marinated with onion and tomato sauce. Even though its non spicy dish, it is actually still a bit spicy but its mild enough for me to be able to finish and enjoy the dish. We had naam(one portion with garlicinstead of rice. I was slightly disappointed it wasnt what I was hoping to get(thats the reason for 4 but not 5🌟), but yet it was tasty and I liked it. And personally I like the normal one without garlic better. But I recommend the garlic one if youre a garlic fan.It was a nice experience and I see myself visiting again!
Awesome Indian food, a must every time Im in Linz. The owners are nice and welcoming, the menu varied and delicious. Great location as its in the very center, just next to the main square.
Delicious indian food! Super funny owner and staff! Awesome!
This hotel is hell, its owner abuses to customers and does misbehave. Service is 3rd class, they serve one table only 3 times after that they will not hear you. food is not good, Please dont try this. My experience is disastrous.
The food is amazing, but we feel that the prices go up while the portions reduce, quite disappointed :(
Friendly and welcoming staff. Quick service. Lunch Portis could have been little bigger.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Linz Apart from the excellent food quality,The staff are so kind and warm hearted. Great ambiance and service with a smile specially both women’s service in restaurant .Always wanting to go to Zaffran If you are in Austria you need to visit this placeOriginal taste of Indian food in Linz
Nice Indian Restaurant and very welcoming owner Gaurav
Went there with a group of 5 people without a reservation in the evening, and we were lucky the owner could squeeze us in for 90 minutes. The food was good (about 13 euros for a chicken curry including riceand the staff attentive. Would go again
Very nice staff. Good quality food, not the best but good
Friendly staff, fast service and good food! Naan was a bit on the doughy side thou other than that everything was real nice
The food was very good and the owners very friendly. Im rating it 4 and not 5 since I think 2.5€ for one flat bread seems a bit steep. But Ill probably come back.
