Restaurant Schiff in Luzern

The steak is worth it, 50 Francs for 300g. Unfortunately it was sad they cooked mine near to well done rather than the medium rare I requested. I tried my friend’s medium rare and it was pretty good! The platter was pretty generous so I suggest do not order for more than 2 pax.I found the Sea Bass to be average although my wife liked it.Food took quite long to come as it was pretty busy but overall great service!

Food was OK touristy style but service was slow and obviously short of staff. Waited at least 20mins just to get the bill.

The waitress left a bad impression. She brought a check for payment and asked where we were from, we said that from Russia, then she drew the letter Z on the check. We did not understand why she wanted to show us that she supported the Russian attack on Ukraine, but we felt terrible from such an abomination.

Our first meal in Switzerland and it was a great one! 👍🏻We were shown an English menu after asking for it, saving us the hassle of translating each item on the menu with google translate 😅🐖 the pork escalope was a bit too dry, but all else is great otherwise! The chips/fries were really nice and was a generous serving. The large portion is recommended for guys to have a filling meal.🍗 the half roasted chicken is also a tad too dry, but flavours are sufficient and the garden salad had an amazing sauce to go with too!🍻 the beer ordered were their local flavours, and was lightly tasted at an affordable priceGreat place to chill and have a meal with the mountain, bridge and river view as the backdrop! 🏔

Incredible view of the water. Food was very good but not the best we had.

We enjoyed a cheese and potato fondue while sitting outside right next to the river. Kids had fish nuggets with a tasty tartare sauce and meatball and mashed potatoes with an excellent gravy.

Had a great time at this restaurant. You get good views of the river and church, as well as the portions were great as well! Service was good and servers were very nice and welcoming.

This restaurant was great with a great location, food and friendly staff. I had the rib eye steak here and I highly recommend it. Their 800 degree oven leaves the steak crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. They also have the traditional cheese fondue with bread and potatoes if you want to try it out.

Excellent meal in atmospheric restaurant - either under the arches or by the river. We had a perch fish with salad and a superb steak. Really enjoyed our experience here. Best to book in advance, even the night before, to get a table by the river.

Visited the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed our experience here. The beef and fish were fresh and juicy, one of the best we tried in Switzerland. The price itself is definitely on the pricier end, as they have good food and a good view of the river. Their service was also friendly towards us who are Asians. Recommended.

Its the worst experience Ive had in Switzerland. The food was very delicious, and thanks to the young waitress and the big waiter, we were having a satisfying meal. However, the service of an old, glasses-wearing waiter completely ruined the last meal in Switzerland. We had to call the waiter more than three times to finish the meal and ask for the bill, and he responded to us with a very annoying expression and behavior that we waited for so long. Is it because were Asian? I was happy all the time in Switzerland, but I think the waiter of the last meal ruined the last day.

Had the Fondo along with a salad and the tomato soup. Beautiful restaurant on the river front.

They made gluten free Fondue with gluten free bread for me.Its not standard thing, because the waiter had to go back to the kitchen to ask 3 times, but it is possible :)The location next to the river is nice on hot summer days.

Expensive, poor service.Ordered wine, cheese fondue, hot chocolate.Waited 1 hour for fondue, wine never came.The lady who took the order- " My job is to take the order and pass on to the service team, not sure why it did not reach you*Such an attitude does not help.Date 3rd August

Amazing place to be and to enjoy a great yummy dinner. Perfect and great staff.

Food was really good and service very friendly. For the dessert, I recommend the warm apple cake with cinnamon and ice-cream!

We had a good meal here with a perfect view of the lake/river through Luzern. Price was reasonable but on the high side, of course expected for the location.

Trash restaurant lol waited so long for the food and the staff are very rude. Fortunately our host for the night (Leonwas an absolute pleasure and saved our night. Only good part about this place. Other than that 0 stars if I had the option. We asked to follow up our order and got a very sarcastic response. Lady who works there without uniform, Who I’m pretty sure is the owner, is very very unpleasant. Has no idea how to run a restaurant. Do not go here 😀

Amazing fondue. Chicken was a bit plain but the rest of the food was amazing. Sitting by the lake is great.Server awkwardly asked for a tip at the end which was a bit off-putting but the place is worth a visit for the fondue for sure.

Schiff was by far the best restaurant experience and evening we had in Luzern. This is largely due to our outstanding host, Christian (hope you are lucky enough to meet him, thank you again Christian for your genuine hospitality). Beyond the 1st class hospitality, both the food and atmosphere was perfect. Amazing fondue and the pork meatballs were incredible.

The restaurant is well-located directly nearby river, so you can enjoy your meal with really nice scenary. The dishes are delicious, and with fair pice. The only thing is that the guy served us was quite busy, and was obviously unpleasant (even with some complaintswhen we refused to give tips.

Excellent food and wonderful view. Try the Hugo cocktail. We had 2 people in our group with food allergies and celiac/gluten free and they did an amazing job of being sure we had safe food to eat and many choices. The service was very good here as well.

I love this place cause it is right on the river Reuss. You can sit outside and it was great. Service was friendly, i had my Glühwein und my fish. You have fear all over if you are freeznig and even coats, so cool. Its s traditional swiss place and they offer all kind of traditional food for a real good deal. Really enjoyed myself there.

Love the Bratwurst. The bread and drinks were okay. The creme brulee didnt have that crisp crunchy top so it was a little different. Nice ambiance near the lake.

What an experience! We had a wonderful dinner - the first time we had fondue. The fondue tasted great but what really made the evenig remarkable was the great, friendly, engaging staff. One of the waitresses took the time to explain how the Swiss eat the fondue, what wine to select, what digestif to have afterwards, and that made us fell welcome and made our evening. To be clear, the place has everything right: high quality food, good service, great location, but what made it a 6 star experience was a friendly, interesting, witty waitress who took the time to help us enjoy the local delicacy.

Great Rosti recipe, the beer is also great, very nice location next to the Luzern River, nice view and very good quality food in Switzerland

Best pumpkin soup, To die for honey mustard salad, and the Best Sausage with a side of hasbrown potatoes and the best lemon and ginger tea! Everything was Amazing! And the staff was so nice! We will definitely be going back! Worth all *****5 stars!

I am usually not one to care much about service and focus mostly on the food quality but I cannot go without mentioning how wonderful the staff is. No phoniness, very authentic customer service experience. The food was also of great quality. I had the Lozärner Chügelipastete - although it is on the pricier side, do not be discouraged, as the value very much matches the quality and quantity that you receive. I also very much enjoyed the cozy interior of the restaurant.

We ate here and sat along the water. Great place to sit and people watch. I really liked the fondue and the dried meat platter.

This was a wonderful restaurant for a warm meal after a long day. Food was outstanding and prices were reasonable for the quality - lower than other overpriced over hyped places.They have a rustic room downstairs and an elegant room upstairs with beautiful wood paneling and lovely chandeliers and tall candles.Walk over the old bridge to get here!!!Waitresses were very sweet and dressed in Swiss dresses.Overall an excellent choice.

I enjoyed my meal here, and service was the best I’ve received while visiting Switzerland. There were plenty of options on the menu, and I settled for house made sausage. It was delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating while the service fast. Great location on the river too.

The exterior of this restaurant betrays its cosy interior. The waitress was very polite and honest. When she knew that we are going for the main course after the fondue, she advised us to order just one portion for the three of us.We ordered the Frank steak is slow cooked for 48 hours and the taste is full bodied. Its also very tender and succulent.We also had the specialty of sliced veal liver. This may not be suitable for many because of its strong smell of game meat but it was very well seasoned and cooked just enough to give a succulent and juicy texture.

Superb food. Had the ribeye, risotto and pork sausage with hash browns. Everything was excellent, but what really stood out was the service. Jessica, our server, went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and understood our food options (we are from the states).My wife also appreciated that the menu was in English. It’s clean, romantic, classy but not pretentious. Would come back here again!

Delicious. If you want something tasty, eat here. A little on the pricey side, but you pay for quality and here, you actually get it. On a nice summer day, sit outside, watch the city bustle and enjoy.Service was great and attentive.

we chose to eat here due to the lovely view, however food is average bistro and presentation quite shocking. Seen the £25 i have been charged for a pulled pork sandwich i would have expected much much more...coleslaw was pushed right inside the bun, sauces were given in sachets...forgot, look at the quantity of prosecco i got for 11chf(£8)....a joke!
