Restaurant Pod Věží in Prague
Description
Privilege
The location of this place is very good. Its right at the begining of the charles bridge. We ordered a potato soup and pasta carbonara. The soup was not bad but very small dish, the pasta was cold and tiny. The waiter was friendly.I wouldent recommend.
MoreBest service in prague(same as a michelin), High quality food. If ill be back in Prague definitly coming back knowing I wont be dissapointed!
More100% recommend dinner here! Cuisine is French influenced, the menu includes snails. Plating was beautifully done, meals are made with super fresh ingredients and portion sizes are good too.Stayed in the hotel right next to it, which was a fantastic stay and they gave us a discount voucher for the restaurant. This won’t be the cheapest option in Prague, but it is definitely worth the money. The place is close to the Charles bridge, so it’s perfect for an evening walk after dinner.
MoreGreat food, and prices are not much higher than in traditional Czech places around old town.
MoreFabulous food presentation. The potato soup was the best Ive had. The fish and duck were both outstanding as was the passion fruit Panna Cotta. It just doesnt get any better. 3 course dinner for 2 with beer, wine and tip came to $85usd.
MoreGood food. Small portions. Slow service but very kind staff. Overpriced food and drinks compared to other restaurants in the area. I tried the beef tenderloin steak with red wine sauce. Was a bit overcooked (I asked for medium), qpuite small portion for the price and sauce was almost inexistent..
MoreThe location of the restaurant is perfect however the waiter was so bad-mannered with us. What’s more when the other people finish theirs meal the waiter invite them to a shot but not with us. I don’t recommend this site as their personal
MoreDelicious and sophisticated. Very friendly staff. I would love coming back.
Really nice place to eat despite it is right beside of Charles Bridge. Very good food. Lovely place. Great service!
MoreTop quality Czech food at a decent price!
Very good food. I had a beef dish that was simply divine. I loved it. Good service. Would recommend to go eat here.
MoreAmazing food combined with great service in a very beautiful place near the Charles Bridge. We went for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the wide menu and variety of great wines. Given level of service and quality of food, the prices are lower than they could be.
MoreAfter a long morning walking around Prague we decided to have lunch near the city centre. In the hope of escaping tourist traps we looked for a restaurant with good reviews and were glad to find this one. However, after looking at the menu it seemed a bit pricey and had a limited offer. We ordered 4 dishes, all were extremely underwhelming and small, they did not excel in any way and most definitely did not match their price. We were especially disappointed with the trout which consisted on two minuscule fillets of dry fish with a couple of leaves on the side. It resembled the size and appearance of my school lunches in primary. Would not recommend this restaurant.
MoreOne of the best meals I have ever had! Simply an incredible restaurant. Excellent service, and outstanding food. Great location, and wonderful ambiance in the restaurant. On the more expensive side, but well worth the money. I highly recommend trying this place. You will not regret it!
MoreRestaurants in very touristy places can sometimes be hit or miss but this restaurant fully deserves its place in the heart of Prague. Excellent food and a very refined take on Czech cuisine right at the beginning of the Charles Bridge. Absolutely worth it and would definitely come again just to try all the different desserts. Friendly staff as well.
MoreOutstanding food and service in an old world style restaurant. We had the whipped goat cheese with carrot and ginger to start (too excited to take a picture 😉then had the hazelnut crusted wild boar tenderloin with spelt, and finished with the raspberry /strawberry cheesecake. Beautifully plated and delicious from start to finish!
MoreUnfriendly barkeeper ( with beard greeted us by asking if we had a reservation- while all the tables were empty... except of one which was occupied. this was around 3 pm. it didnt seem at all that a reservation would be appropriate in any way and it came across as a bit arrogant and unneccessary..food was ok.
MoreWe had an amazing time here. Everyones food was absolutely delicious. I finished my entire plate, which is incredibly rare for me, but it was just so dang good. The service was great, they brought us a super delicious digestive (liquorat the end. We also forgot our water bottle here, came back the next day, and they had it waiting for us, and filled it up with new, cold water upon arrival. 5/5 stars all around.
Morewhat amzing Food and amazing service!despite zhe favt that its in mid of the tourist spot, this is highly recommend!will come again
MoreHigh class food and very friendly / funny waiters. The food was absolutely amazing, go and check it out!
MoreVery delicious food, fantastic service. Not very crowded and nice atmosphere. Good location next to the Karlovy Bridge. You can sit inside or outside. We ordered soups and few dishes with fish an meat. My recommendations!!
MoreWe loved it. Even though its central, its not a tourist trap. Specialty burger was delicious, drinks menu had lots of nice local options. And waiter - English-speaking by the way - was extremely kind
MoreLovely experience! Deliscious food, great service and good location. Highly recommended! We will return😀
MoreHands down the best meal we had in our trip to Prague, we ordered snails to share, chicken and beef. Absolutely delicious!!
MoreVery nice place, the waiter is very pleasant and friendly. If you want to taste Czech dishes, this is your restaurant
MoreDELICIOUS restaurant, a bit fancy but prices are not that different from other restaurants in Prague. Deco is a bit medieval/ old Prague but quite cozy. The service is great. Definitely recommend and if you go, you must order the Morel starter its amazing !
MoreWe went, with my girlfriend, for Valentines day. It was just awesome. From the starters to the desserts, delicious ! The waiters are available and sympathic. The thinly sliced deer tenderloin with the lovage mayonnaise was Amazing. Moreover, the prices are quite low. Thanks for all
MoreWhat an excellent experience! The service was great for a change in Prague, the wine fromMoravia was fantastic, and the food phenomenal at a very reasonable price. The food was hearty but also elaborate enough, and all the flavors were just on point. Chestnut soup was delicious, salad with deer croquettes was amazing, and my only complaint (thus a 4 instead of a 5is that I ordered my steak medium rare and it was clearly overcooked :( Bad mistake but still a great meal and a restaurant I would go back to. The burger was great too!
MoreExcellent! The menu is a fresh, creative presentation of traditional ingredients and flavor. Staff is warmly professional. An amazing value. A wonderful evening. (We ate there twice in 4 days.)
MoreThis was amazing. Everything was very fine and very local. Best meat I have ever eaten. The service is excellent and the location is perfect. A must to do !
MoreFantastic food and service! One of the best I had in Prague.
We had very cosy and delicious dinner in that restaurant! The food (deer tenderloin carpaccio, hare leg and wild boar tenderloinwas very tasty! We didn’t like the desert - baked cheese & apple, it wasn’t sweet, it’s more starter than dessert. But suffle with eggnog was perfect choice. We chose local (Czech vine and it was also nice. The waiter opened the champagne bottle by a sword, which was a surprising experience.
MoreGreat place. It had a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff where very friendly and professional. The chef understands flavour pairing very well and created some different unique dishes that worked perfectly.
MoreSome of the best food I had in Prague. Be sure to check out the mushroom dishes in Autumn.
MoreNice and cozy place. Weve tried two local dishes: Creamy dill sauce and Hazelnut crusted wild boar sirloin. It was amazing. Food was delicious. Staff was nice.Recommend this place)
MoreWe had an amazing lunch with my couple. We are traveling a lot and trying different cuisines. But in this restaurant the taste of the food was fantastic. The dish as itself is not very special, but when you try the pork ribs with dill sauce or even a hamburger, you will understand what I mean. The waiters are very kind and has knowledge about the food they are serving. We definitely advise you to try the traditional Czech food there. 5+stars.P.S.Stay in the hotel Pod Věží!
MoreVery friendly and available staff. We were well looked after during the service everytime we went there (for a drink or for food). The card is small but it is definitely a sign for quality because the food was delicious. There is not much for vegetarians but the chef arranged something for me.We will definitely come back!As customers of the hôtel we got a 200crowns discount.
MoreThe atmosphere is wonderful. The food was good for the most part. The pork knuckle was, by far, the best choice at our table. We tried the duck, fallow deer and beef steak but the flavor of the pork was superb.
MoreLovely dinner with generous portions! The restaurant feels fancy but the prices are reasonable! We had the lamb and deer dish and finished with an amazing chocolate brûlée. First time having that specific apple cider and I loved it. Tip: Make a reservation so that you can sit in the front part of the restaurant.
MoreIts a warm and cozy restaurant, even quite luxury in center Prague. Its very near the Castle. The food is very good and delicous. Staff is well-behavior. Price is affordable. Its worthy a try
MoreAbsolutely amazing food, haven’t had a better duck in my life. Dille and mushrooms soup was exceptional. More than everything, our waiter was the greatest example of what a staff of any restaurant should be. We’ve spent a lovely evening and if we’re ever back in Prague, we’re coming again, 100%!
MoreAn excellent choice to eat at Malastrana area. The service is kind and quick. Prices around 15€. They have many dishes including vegetarian, and also a daily menu with 1 or 3 menu courses, and kids menu. Food is delicious
MoreThe veal steak was pricey but worth every penny. And so was the fish dish and pork cutlets. Youll enjoy yourself whether youre indoors or al fresco. The waiters were patient and attentive to everyone in the group. Adds up to 22€ per person, and the food, service and decor all delivered. Eat here!
MoreGreat upscale dining right next to the Tower of Charles Bridge. We were dressed very casual due to us simply out sight seeing. Our waiter made us feel very welcome and gave us great service! The food was simply excellent!!You wont be disappointed!!
MoreExcellent food. That place, the restaurant is directly at the end of the bridge. Just behind the tower. As there are many touristic restaurants, take that one here and youll be happy.Once in, it reminds you of an old restaurant of the 40s. The old chairs are fluffy, the patio is cute and the waiter is outstanding polite and friendly. But the food is 😍. There is someone in the kitchen who loves to decorate and to combine tastes. And because of the old interior you dont expect that level and quality. We had Salat, smoked salmon (self smoked), canneloni (vegetarianand a ribey steak (medium). For dessert: honey Waffel with salted caramel ice cream (heaven😊and a chocolate Ganache with nougat creme and an espresso.I strongly recommend going there. Its just something special. The whole package. feels a bid odd on the first two minutes but than it develops in something nice, cosy and well.Very clean and modern restrooms by the way
MoreVery nice restaurant for those who want to have decent Czech and other European food...I ordered beef tartare as entree which was very aromatic with very rich beef and spice favour. Duck breast with foie gras was the main which was also perfectly cooked. The lunch ended with a shot of port and homemade chocolate on the house which was very nice. The only bad thing was the waiter who poured beer for me...I thought it is very basic to pour a beer with reasonable foam-to-beer proportion. The one shown in the picture is definitely unacceptable.
MoreFood was good and atmosphere and ambience was amazing. If possible reserve seat earlier for seeing street view. Behavior of one male Waiter was rude however other people were good.Price wise it was expensive.Restaurant is located in the heart of Prague in the picturesque Mala Strana, and is calmly hidden in the shadow of Charles Bridge gothic tower.Open hours daily from 12:00 – 23:00WI-FI connection is free of charge
MoreExcellent tasty food maybe a bit too heavy and a bit pricey for the standards of Prague. Second best for me. The presentation of the food was also excellent. Very nice place
MoreWe loved the food here. The chef and the waiters are pretty warm unlike a lot of places in Prague. We ordered the pork knuckle and beef tartare and polished off the plate. The place is a bit expensive but worth every penny. Absolutely loved it
MoreWe arrived late in the day to the Hotel Pod Vezi and decided to eat at their restaurant. My wife picked the venison goulash and I close the spaghetti carbonara which turned out to be the best spaghetti carbonara I have ever eaten. The food and service was so good that we returned the night after with my wife choosing the Czech duck dish and I chose the carbonara again which was as satisfying as the night before. My wife loved the food and the service was great with prompt attention and a great view of people walking to and from the Charles bridge. The pricing was great with a discount for those staying at the hotel and the staff were always friendly (why cant Australian staff be this friendly?).Well be returning to Prague for a longer time in the near future and I suspect that we will eat most of our meals at this restaurant.
