A low-key spot serving Lebanese & other Middle Eastern dishes in a simple, wood-beamed space.
For starters, the staff is not very friendly and they treat everyone differently depending if they’re locals or not.We asked for some help with the dish of the day wondering if maybe we could share some stuff as we wanted to try as many things as possible. Very little help. Moreover, we asked for some tap water and they denied serving it to us but five minutes later we saw the waiter bringing some tap water to another table. The food is expensive, the servings are small and the food is not as good as other Lebanese restaurants I’ve been to. Baba ganoush tasted like cream and you could barely taste the falafel.Very disappointing after the good reviews this place has.
Amazing original taste! Highly recommended!
1. Asking for preferred drinks immediately upon handing the menu. Like wait, let us read what options you have first?2. Saying they do not have tap water. Almost every restaurant offers tap water. And tap water is great in Switzerland. Then charging 10CHF for 1L of tap water ? Rip off.3. Food is okay. We had foul madammas and cheese kababs. The foul tasted bland and depended on the olive oil for much of its taste. Living in Middle East for 4 years has been ample to let me know this dish wasnt close to the amazing taste foul should have.
Would not recommend this place. We ordered foul madammas and cheese kebabs. Foul tasted bland. I have tasted so many better versions of foul that this wasnt even close to it. And they charged us 10 CHF for water without even informing us of the price first.
Amazing Lebanese food. Super fresh ingredients, great service.
Tasty food but very expensive. The waiters could have also done a better job. We ordered 9 mezze plates in 2 rounds (4 and 5), and that disqualified us from receiving the special price for 9 mezze plates. They could have informed us earlier, it felt like they were trying to take advantage when the bill arrived.
Kibbeh nayeh was good other things were very average price is over rated
Excellent food and service. Aubergine mezze, shish kabob, and Lebanese wines are all highly recommended.
Best Lebanese food in Geneva !
Very tasty food with a lot of vegan options. You can order a variety of dishes that can nicely be shared with a group of people.
Great food and lovely hospitality from friend Patrick... Thank you
This is a little out of the way from the waterfront area but easy to find. It was recommended by G Maps for halal Lebanese cuisine. I loved it!I love trying the same cuisines in different countries to see how it effects the taste. I have to say this was a great find. The food tastes fantastic. The service was good too. Highly recommend you add this to your list for halal middle eastern foods.Ps. look for the pine tree symbols to find halal middle eastern restaurants in Geneva (seen in other countries too)
unfortunately we didnt have a great time. The waiters are nice, the starters we tried good. I eat Lebanese often and again we took chawarma. I found a dish with fried chicken tooth in two pieces of flatbread. Without sauce or anything. it was really tasteless and dry, Thats why she recommended hummus in the beginning, hindsight the dish would have been too dry. Accompanied by french fries. Cost of 28chf really nonsense, it was literally chicken with bread. If I spend 28 chf I expect that I dont have to spend another 13 on hummus to ensure that the dish is not dry.
Very yummy , the staff friendly 👏🏻👏🏻
This was my first time trying Lebanese food. The food is delicious, i enjoy eatingStaff is friendly
Had such a great meal with a party of 8! Highly recommend if you want to try or love Lebanese food.
If you want to have the taste of proper libanaise food you this is the first pleace to come. Service is fast. Staff are welcomeing and worm. I highly recommend. Super fantastic experience.
The starters were alright - but the main....no sauce, dry and not nicely arranged and we had 4 different onces tried out....The Libanese wine was very good though!
Amazing Lebanese food in Geneva .. must visit for a fantastic meal … vegetarian friendly
Great food and service. The taste is delicious.
Excellent experience. The food is fresh and very tasty. One of my first times actually going to a real Lebanese restaurant. Prices are moderate for Geneva and the owner is very friendly. Also has a terrace to enjoy in summer.
Amazing restaurant with nice atmosphere in center of Geneva.Lentil soup is so special and good.Shish taouk main dish fabulous.Food is so delicious and service perfect.Nice waiter and manager in this restaurant .Food is halal too.Nice decoration of the restaurant .Be back soon to visit this restaurant
Lebanese food so good!Ambiance is perfect and staff lovelyManager is so kind thanks you everythingFor sure we come back sooon.Service is fast .
Terrible food, very expensive. Do not recommendEDITAlso, I had a voucher and they took my phone to scan it. Then I realised that they had used my phone without my knowledge to give themselves a 5-flipping-star review. When I went to give a review after my terrible experience, I saw I have already given a review and I was apparently really happy.Oh. My. Flip.
Love this restaurant! Food is amazing !Musique is good too!Lentil soup so good!
One of the best in town. Authentic Lebanese cuisine tastes like home! Cherry on the cake the staff is super friendly and make the whole experience unforgettable.
Food is delicious.Service is fantastic and music nice.I love this restaurant .
For Arabic food this is below the average, the only two dishes we liked was Shawarma & Cheese Sambosa.
Exceptional Lebanese cuisine in Geneva! So far the best in contrary to all other restaurants. Very delicious and fresh food! Prices are good. Restaurant in good condition with a homely touch it. Service is friendly and professional! Recommended!
Delicious food and great service! A very diverse menu and vegetarian and vegan friendly. A great experience!
Le Diwan is the first Lebanese restaurant founded in Geneva in the early 90s by a family from Beirut originally. Traditional, home-made cuisine created by the chef who preserves an excellent image and taste for the past 10 years that is authentic and full of flavours. The staff is extremely welcoming and kind. The owner who has a great taste of hospitality personally welcomes each guest. The mezzes are exquisite and mind blowing, however my recommendations for the main dishes are the shishtaouk, beef kafta and kibbi naye fresh tartar. For the big appetite ones, the katayef dessert is a killer and very light. If you are looking for a taste of Lebanon this it the right place to visit and sign up for the lunch dish that variates every day.
A table full mezze ! Its just breath taking ! If you want a fine Lebanese food its a place to be with more than 20 years experience! Every day a new dish of the day!
Too expensive... the food was good but doesn’t worth it
Awesome restaurant where Ive gone randomly with 5 friends of mine. The food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant owner and the waiters were really welcoming and effective also. Ill definately eat here again when Ill come back to Geneva !
Perhaps the most ordinary Lebanese food we have ever had, anywhere. Love Lebanese cuisine and have experienced it in a number of countries but this place was a major let down.Particularly painful when you are paying stupid amount of money for it as well, unfortunate fact about almost every place in Switzerland.
Excellent Lebanese food! Fresh and delicious! We loved it and so did our young kids. Definitely recommend and we will be visiting again for sure, next time in Geneva!
Not recommended. These are my comments:1the price is high compared to the quality of food2not genuine Lebanese resturant. The first sheesh tawook that I ever eaten with no side salad @ souse3portions extremely small4the serving gentleman was offering us extra food after we completed the order in order to increase his sale
After our meeting meal this afternoon we were really please to discover the Lebanese food. The "shawarma" and the "houmous" were extremely good. It was pretty affordable in comparaison with the other restaurant in Geneva. The quality of all the dishes were really good. We enjoyed the quality of the waiter. We recommend it without a doubt with a special mention for the dessert "knéfé" who was apparently new on the menu and we enjoyed to discover it.
A very pleasant familial restaurant where the Lebanese food is simply the best in Geneva (for having tested the other Lebanese restaurants). The atmosphere is delightful and the waiters are charming.
Love the food there, its my favorite place to have lunch, it reminds me of home... The service is good too and the enviroment is cozy and classy if youre going for a good taste of lebanese food this is the place I recommend!
Nice place, nice people good Lebanese food but rather expensive.
Nice place. Tasty food. The owner is available all the time and interacting with the customers and asking for service evaluation.
We’ve had a dinner with my girlfriends. First of all we’ve had nice welcoming. They have a white tablecloths, so the cloakroom was just perfectly suited to the restaurant. Then we were served!! I mean this is a one of rare place in Geneva where they make a service at the table during the whole dinner. They are all very attentive to each table. This people know how to welcome clients. The food deserves some more sentences. Delicious, with generous portions. Exceptional Fattoush salad. What to say? We will definitely get back there soon. The only one bémol is instead of getting of 50 % on the food, excluding the drinks we got 40 %. However we’ve been told that it was 50%. It is not a big deal, but unpleasant residue remained.
Still the best Lebanese restaurant in Geneva. Meal is nice, fresh and tasty.Real food there specially the KEBBE BIL LABAN. I feel it’s made by my mom or grand mom. Everything there is good and excellently presented by top chef.Their dessert menu is a must have specially the KNEFE.I go there all the time and just love it big fanThe director Patrick and his team are the epitome of the best care & service for all customers. We will go back !
By far the best Lebanese restaurant in Geneva!
We eat some mezze with my friends . I highly recommend the place the service is Nice the director serv us with smile. The food was delicious and everything at a Nice price. If you like lebanese food le diwane is the place to be in Geneva .
Very nice authentic Lebanese restaurant in a central location. The food was really good and the service above expectations.Definitely recommended!
Amazing delicious food and very good service. Not the cheapest restaurant but it is worth it. I like when a gentleman - most probably the owner of the restaurant - comes at some point to say hello and to say welcome to the restaurant to everyone and shakes hands and asks if everything is ok. These are the small things that make the clients happy. My favorites - chicken liver in butter (kawaness), shish taouk and hummus.
Went there with my family for dinner. I come often to Geneva, and this is the best Lebanese restaurant I tried here. Everything is very good and they take care of us every time.
Authentic Lebanese Mezzes. Standard Swiss prices: individual mezze platter with 7 small portions costs 23.50 CHF (jul 2018). Service was slow when I was there, other than that its pretty good.
