I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The place is beautiful and has lots of space. I ordered martini and nachos. The martini was good but the nachos were yuck and other foods I tasted which my friends were having like chicken ribs and tomato soup everything was bad too crispy and tasteless.

Poor service, insane prices.10,- euros for a cheese melt of poor quality is a complete rip-off. All food was of low quality, clearly an uninspired kitchen. As in all Dutch hospitality, dont expect any. Been in there for 2 hours with 15 people, staff came over to the table once. Staring at their phones while we were leaving. We were the only ones there at noon, no excuse for the total disinterest. GTFO, Run. Skip Dutch hospitality, its the same everywhere. Go to the store, buy nice food, invite friends and have a houseparty. Youre welcome.

The food was relatively tasty, albeit not very special. That is also the extent to which the visit was pleasurable. Service was terrible, however, and I never blame the staff themselves when this happens. Orders were mixed up, parts of them forgotten, dietary requirements were outright ignored, and we had to wait for an eternity to finally pay the bill.Im not coming back.

Service is goed, but menu is very simpel! Dont have so much choice, desserts also is not so much ! Is not so bed, but next time if I need to making choice I dont go again! Sorry

They dont give out free tap water even when your bill is already €60+. The food is decent when cooked right, but all of our medium burgers were cooked differently. They were also extremely slow when it came to giving us the bill itself. And they seated us next to the toilet even though there clearly were other tables available at the moment.

Went here two times with my colleagues. Its really fine dining with an informal touch. The food is well presented and the waiters are really well mannered. The interior is also very nice to look at a house/home decoration.

Terrible service...extremely slow and dont bother coming to your table unless you say something...unprofessional and incompetent....dont bother , go somewhere else....

Arrived at 18h00. Finished at 21h30. Waiting between courses ridiculous. 3 meal dinner, main meat course out-of-stock. Alternative out-of-stock. Special beer out-of -stock. Not mentioned upfront, but afterwards after everybody has ordered. Carpaccio frozen. Coffee forgotten. Bill incorrect. Lots of personnel, but trying to catch their attention is impossible. This was a once, but never again experience.

We were never served. We sat for about 25 minutes and no one came by. I am not a tourist, I have lived in Haarlem for over 2 years, this was not normal.

Good is fine but there Dutch dont normally require people to buy water as the tap water is fine. this restaurant does this which is a pet price of mine and environmentally harmful.

It took almost two hours for us to finally get our main dishes. Half the food was cold or at best lukewarm.

We had a very poor experience with this place last week when we came wth a group of 25 people. Usually we came here and the food and service was good. This time it was so bad, food was cold, and we waited for 2.5 hours to get our main course... every time the excuse that it is prepared now.The Service was so bad!!We will surely not return (and we were a regular costumerand will definitely keep our friends and family away from this place.

The atmosphere was very bearable!

Went here for diner but the terrace was packed so they were short on staff I reckon.Diner was OK but not special. The location was fun and is perfectly reachable by car since there is a parking garage right down below the restaurant. From there it’s a short walk to the city center which. There is a cinema next door so if you want to eat something simple before you go see the movies, you can go here.

Poor service, looong waiting time, food was average, there was bread on the bill, we ordered but never recieved. No recommensation.

Great place, divers food options.

While the restaurant falls in the category of feeding machine, just like happy italy and similar concepts, this execution of the format was well done. We ate here with three people, had 2 drinks and a coffee each and an a la carte main course. Together this was ~€90,-1. The food was decent to good, nothing fancy, but taking into account the price it can be considered a good deal.2. The scenery was well done, very relaxing atmosphere.3. The service was almost too friendly, which made it feel rehearsed.Especially the scenery and the service made it stood out from the traditional type of feeding machine restaurants. I recommend the place if you want something decent but not too extraordinary.

One of the worst restaurant I ever been. Slow to no service. We stood up and went away after 15 minutes. Never again.

The "most" slowest service ever, in empty place like this I had to wait for 25 minutes for waiter to take an order. Cant tell for the quality of the food, since I probably will die due to age before I get something here

Ridiculously slow service. Only two waiters on a Saturday. Weve been waiting for ages just to order. While we were waiting, we could see that no one else had food and everyone was also waiting. One couple eventually left without getting their food. We also couldnt wait any longer to order (!and decided to finish our drinks and go. Never again.

De Beren is a good restaurant with a good menu for hamburgers, spareribs and steak.Service is good and with a smile and you are being served quickly. If you say you have a time at the movies, which is just around the corner, they especially make sure you get your dinner on time to make it.The hamburgers are great, as well the spareribs, fresh meat and good prepared.The restaurant is cozy and had a great atmosphere. The kitchen is open so you can see how they prepare your dinner.Prices are good and not expensive.

Well organized concept restaurant of which the highest creativity achievement is the food description in the menu. And that is to cry for. Anything after that is just moving volumes.Having said that, they do this quite well. The food is as predictable as the audience wants it to be and the prices are fair. If you like this youll find many friends there.

Went for lunch and the food was excellent as always, but the service was soooooo bad we had to go up and ask for service to get a wine, then go back and ask for menus then again ask for coffee after the lunch, this is not the right way to get repeated customers, this is the fifth time we have been at the De Beren for lunch but will be the last, as the waiting staff don’t give a dam

Excellent food ans very hospitable staff.Can recommend it and it is also next to Pathé Cinema.

There is one or two waiter out of the six that are attentive so it will only take a little longer than you would expect for your order to be taken. But because of this you will have to signal them if you want more drinks during your meal. The spare ribs are a bit fatty so you might over estimate how much you can eat. They are also prepared such that they almost fall off the bones but as a consequence they loss a lot of the savory tast.

Visited the restaurant on a Monday for the unlimited spare ribs offer. The ribs are quite bad. They feel like they were cooked some days ago and then preheated and served as fresh. Probably they are leftovers from the weekend or just bad practice from the restaurant management to handle the high demand.The restaurant itself is very nice so it is a pity they offer so bad food.

Been here now on various occasions, every single time I enjoyed my food (perfect rare meat!and was impressed by the staff.

The prices are OK. Food OK, however the service is abysmal.

Good, friendly, service... and pretty good burger. Perfect for dinner before the show but make sure to reserve a table. We called late and as there were no tables available they reserved two stools for us at the bar.

Nice atmosphere, good food, and good location, just outside the city centre. The menu has a nice variety, and they also offer a three course meal.Staff was very friendly, albeit clearly still a bit inexperienced. One negative point that has not so much to do with the food or service was that I overheard management sending a waiter home since the restaurant was not very busy.... Always find it unprofessional to cancel an employees shift last minute.
