Restaurant ChaCha - Georgian restaurant in Saint Petersburg, Russia
Would highly recommend this place if you’re in St. Pete. I ordered Siberian dumplings and Khachapuri (cheese bread boat with an eggand it was pure ecstasy for my taste buds. Even If you’re not excited about Georgian food but are one of those people that appreciates a stellar ambiance while eating you’ll still have a good time. FYI the entrance is in a little breeze way so it can be easy to miss id you’re trying to find it from the street.
Great atmosphere, nice and friendly stuff
Hot piping tasty Georgian cuisine served alongside the beautiful view of the city and the embankment. Classical!! Loved every dish that we ordered. Definitely recommended
Okay Georgian restaurant conveniently situated for tourists and with a reasonable price range. I had decent expectations for this place due to the amount of reviews but I was more disappointed than satisfied.First, the service is very slow. It took them 30 minutes to bring the first "food" and that was some sauces, without even the bread we ordered. The next "dish" was served after 40 minutes since the order and that was a vegetable mix that doesnt even require mixing or anything. Literally a plate with washed vegetables took 40 minutes! Other dishes came within 50 minutes and werent even worth the wait. The coffee took 10-15 minutes to be prepared and the water also took 10 minutes when it seemed like there werent many guests in the restaurant... There were also many guests who came after us but got served much faster although they ordered the same menu.If the dishes came in 20-30 minutes it would have been great.Otherwise, Id recommend getting khinkali (though a bit salty), chashushuli (tender and sweetand the beetroot pkhali (unique taste with the pomegranate bits). The dolma was pretty salty. The staff wasnt necessarily friendly but wasnt rude either.
It may just be what we ordered, but...A true case of expectation vs. reality disappointment. Photo of the corn salad in the menu looks NOTHING like the salad you get (see photos)... where was all the corn? The mushrooms and potatoes were quite oil drenched and very sparse compared to the image in the menu. However, desert was delicious - we had the poached pears with ice cream and mulled wine sauce. Again, nothing like the picture - was more a sticky vanilla custard than mulled wine sauce - but it was tasty!I think what Cha Cha can learn is that if you have pictures in your menu, you should ensure that the food at least resembles it.
Always very good typical Georgian cuisine. Very good wines on a extended wine list from Georgia. Warm welcome and attention from the staff. Cosy place to find a refuge when winter knocks at the door in this northern Venice.
Food was good, but service was terrible. Waiter seemed tired and didnt say thank you, you are welcome etc. Waiter tried to make us order more expensive dishes. I ordered local beer and waiter charged more expensive exported beer.
Nice food, however abusive 10% surcharge for service only for 2 people. Also I found the wine very expensive. At least twice expensive compared to other place in the area.
Great location, prices are very acceptable and the food is delicious. The place is always crowded due to warm Georgian welcome ;the music can be loud, but service is very friendly. We tried many dishes from the menu and georgian wine - everything was super good. Don’t hesitate to ask the waiter about dishes - they help a lot.
Good Georgian food. I was only wondering why I had to wait my vegetables so long time, that I had eaten almost all of my lamb. Got good spicy sauce, when we asked for it, but why isnt sauces included by default or at least suggested. All in all tasty food, just info and service have some room of improvement.
Great and delicious food with perfect taste, the staff wasnt frinedly to us at all and they try to take our dishes when we werent finish our meal.Atmosphere was perfect.
Charming interiors and authentic Georgian cuisine are what makes this place great for a lunch or dinner with friends and family.I had the Georgian salad, made with eggplant, paprika, purple onions, cilantro and spices, topped with pommegranate seeds and it was delightful, especially if you pair it with the Mengrelian Khachapuri - the traditional pizza-like bread with local cheese. It’s very filling so I recommend getting only these two dishes and some Georgian wine if you are not too hungry. If you are - try some of the many stews served in minj saucepans.
The best restaurant in Saint Petersburg.
Food was good but service was terrible. Waiter didnt even look at me while taking my order, never said thank you, here you go, etc.. Didnt say anything at all. First time during my two week trip to Russia that I didnt want to tip, but they charge 10% service automatically! No wonder he doesnt even try.
Good food that was well priced. Nice outdoor seating so you can watch the people go by. Staff were busy (Saturday nightbut still friendly.
Tasty food closed to one of the main cathedrals lot Saint Petersburg. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommended.
The food is so far so good but the service is very nice. The location is nearby the Cathedral which is located at the center in the city.
delicious food and drinks, very friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere
Best khachapuri, chicken satsivi and strawberry mint tea. Vegetables in the salad are also fresh and tasty.
Good service and normal prices
Best restaurant in St. Petersburg. Relaxed atmosphere and great food with the BEST Napoleon cake in town! Definately worth a visit.
Excellent quality of Georgian food. The khachapuri was excellent, the khinkali was tasty as well. The phkali (dipswere truly the highlight. My favourite was the green bean phkali as well as the eggplant stuffed with walnut and Georgian spices. The eggplant had a perfect, smoky taste while went so well with the walnut. The fruit tea was also excellent - not too sweet, with rich fruit flavour.#localguides #georgianfood
Once you know it, you can’t help to come back 😍. Even Russians said that Georgian food is the best ! 😏🤫 in secret, of course.
The best restaurant we went to in St Petersburg. The eggplant with minced walnuts were SO good. The dessert (pressed grapes?wasnt my cup of tea, but its interesting to try.
Fantastic location.Kind staff.Great choice of food.Good quality and tasty food.Good Wi-Fi in the bar.Amazing draft beer. You have to try Ziguli (жигули пивоRussian beer.Good appetite
Great Georgian restaurant in the heart of St. Petersburg. Georgian food is unbelievable, try lamb shashlik, add Georgian style salad and a glass of Kindzmarauli wine... nice place, good service. Very enjoyable.
Food was good. Its Georgian Russian. Wanted to try borsht but they gave me Georgian soup. It was good but no cabbage in it. We got the cheapest and still cost around $32 usd. Did get the pickle treat which was good.
Absolutely my favorite place to eat in Russia! Very clean place and the food is always absolutely amazing! Prices are not expensive and well worth the food and atmosphere. I highly recommend!1 year EDIT: wife and I just got back from Tbilisi Georgia. Turns out THIS IS the BEST Georgian food in the world! My local friends and family took us to every worthy restaurant in TBILISI and The surrounding areas and to our surprise, NOTHING was better than Cha-Cha! How can that be??? MIND BLOWN!!
Georgian restaurant in St. Petersburg with Georgian food and St. Petersburg prices lol. The food is good. Hash puri nicely made, but a little small. We had some type of nut and beetroot balls. They were nice and something different. Overall good but a tidbit pricy.
Delicious Georgian food. Situated at a prime location, just a few steps away from Savior of the Spiller Blood. Lot of options for both meat lovers and vegetarians.
Google says that you need a reservation, but I was able to just walk in. The kabab plate I ordered was huge and very delectable. The waiter, Sergii (sp?), was a bit surprised that I was ordering just for myself. I admit that I did struggle a bit (would have been a piece of cake in my early twenties), but managed to finish. The menu does have a great variety and had me excited about all the different possibilities.I posted a picture - in case you can’t tell, there’s more meat under all that vegetation.
Really yummy Georgian restaurant located really close to Saviour on the Spilled Blood. The lamb khinkali (dumpingand kachapuri (egg inside bread with cheesewere both great. A lot of the reviews say the service is lousy but our waiter was very sweet (Viktoriaand really tried to understand everything we said even if she didnt always understand. They are very busy so I would recommend booking a table! The salads are also really good.
Fabulous authentic Georgian food in more than decent prices. Cosy atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended!
Its a really accessible place within the city center. You are hungry and you dont know what to eat or where. This is the place. Good quality, good price.I loved the salmon steak it was splendid, but do tell them you dont like it dry, Ive noticed this tendency in St. Petersburg. The only drawback is the orange salad, its tasteless, its not very difficult to make a tasty citrus salad. Some lemon here, some salt (or garlic if you willolive oil, and the lettuce of your choosing. If you wanna go fancier but minimalist, go for curly endive, lemon juice and pomegranate seeds (a pinch of salt if you want), and its delicious. And well, if we are going picky, the mushrooms from the "mushrooms and potatoes" would definitely benefit from being sliced, full bodied they loose the flavor and texture of the sliced ones, and truth be said, they look quite brute unless you grill them, but thats a different story. Also the lemonades, despite the fresh fruits used, they have an EXCESSIVE amount of sugar syrup, which in turn kills the flavor of the freshly cut fruits that have been introduced inside.Maybe if its an ultra sour lemon juice, some significant amount of sweet could be justified, but this is not the case.
visited to have dinner after long day tour. Staff Elizabeth who happens to understand English was very rude in order to understand the food and menu to be ordered especially to the tourist. May be experienced staffbut not expected to be rude especially when the food is being paid for. Asked for chicken fillets which we tried to understand if served are raw or cooked but the reply was rude so decided to ask other server who managed to understand and help. Please watch out for the rude behaviour served with the paid food.
The Foods are very good looking but the the taste I dont think so,
We came across this Georgian restaurant by complete accident and was a bit doubtful as it is situated at a very touristy street. But it turned out to be a good accident as every single dish we had was the best in St. Petersburg. The strawberry lemonade was chilled, tangy and refreshing. The salmon salad fresh with basalmic vinegar and orange sauce. The grilled mushroom and potatoes super hot, soft yet chewy. The Sulgini cheese and meat stuffed savory Khachapuri was flavourful where you can taste the aroma of the baked flour. The pork and beef kebab is also and excellent dish with its spicy sauce. Lastly, staffs there were very friendly!
Absolutely amazing stuff. I had 3 dishes. One was some bread bowl with cheese, butter and an egg. Stwewed lamb and some very large dumplings. My only regret is that I couldnt eat more. Also, if you like good whiskey/ scotch be sure to drink dont of their nice ChaCha. Very smooth
Great location just walking distance from the iconic spilled blood church and many others monuments, as well as and the Gostinyy Dvor metro station, great food and drinks
A very good restaurant with a great variety of georgian dishes. They also add pictures so you can see how the dish looks, before you order it.We ate there a business lunch and we only paid 1140 rubels. In business lunch the dishes is smaller then regular. However we, for example, order three dishes to a person (salad, soup and a main dish and we ended with our bully full and great satisfaction.
The service is TERRIBLE. Ive been here twice (because the food is good), but it will be my last. Waiters are lazy and rude. I order one lemon juice and got one squeezed lemon, no water or sugar or mixed. Awful.
One of the best restaurants Ive ever been to in my life. Went a year ago and still think about the meal I had. It was a bread thing with cheese and egg. We also had shots of Georgian vodka. We had a super nice waiter who spoke English. Dont leave St. Petersburg without eating here.
The portions were huge, but the food itself was just alright. The garlic fried potatoes were a bit bland. The interior is lovely. I was there with great company.
Good service, nice picture menu and English-speaking waiter really helped. I didnt love the bean dish or the cheesy corn bread I ordered, but the wine was excellent and I think I just made unfortunate food choices. Get the khinkali or the khatchapuri, I saw those on neighboring tables and was jealous!
What an unmitigated disaster. There arent many ways you can go wrong with raw salmon, but serving it half frozen is one of them. Our server was fast to help (which was a saving grace and the reason there are 2 starsbut getting back the same dish after a dive in the oven is really not a great experience. The Georgian salad I ordered was a sorry excuse for it l, with just a sad mash of tomatoes and cucumbers. Im sure slips happen, but on a 3 courses dishes here was nothing worth saving. Better luck next time.
Very good Georgian food compared to other places weve been in Russia. Friendly staff and great service (plates were gone at the second we took the last bite of the dish... seems to be a Russian thing).
Delicious restaurant! We went there on the evening of our arrival in St. Petersburg and we really had a great time. The staff was really nice and explained to us the different specialties on the menu. The food was really good and we tried many different dishes. I recommend this place without any hesitation.
A nice place in a central location, a little bit noisy but overall good food. What was strange is, that the waiter tipped himself. She just added 15% to the bill without even asking how we liked it there. Very strange, since tips are determined by the dostumer based on his overall experience. After the payment she also wanted a signature copy from me and I didnt get any reciept after paying by credit card. For safety reasons I deactivated that credit card after that visit.
Promoting themselves as Georgian restaurant, they dont really have an idea of how it is made. Some members of their team are also quite rude, although I was welcomed with a warm greeting. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this place.
Great food! The little cheese boats and ravioli are incredible, and service is great. They do not speak English though, so get ready to show what you want on the menu!!
