Just reached. So far so good.Update..The curry fish head is simply out of the world. Certainly one of the Best!!Plenty of meat, fresh, aromatic, tasty gravy, etc. The bean sprouts also very good.

Nice and good value food. The assam prawns, salt bake chicken and curry fish head is superb. Petai, and the taugeh is heavenly. They close rather early. It is not crowded and the tables are nicely spaced. Highly recommended eating place.

For those living in KL/PJ area, you might have heard of Ah Lye Curry Fish head in SS19, Subang Jaya before. Many do not know that they originated from Taiping and Aun Loke is the "mothership" here in Pokok Assam area.The signboards in front of the restaurant make it hard to miss, though parking is very limited. Dont be shocked at the lack of seating when you enter the restaurant, as the main dining hall is located on the left of the "old wing". A spacious, air-confitioned, hall greets you with ample seating, making it a comfortable place to have a meal.Famous for their curry fish head (you can change it to fish meat instead), and some local favourites, Just ask your server and theyll be more than happy to recommend the must-try dishes. Many go here not only for the curry fish head, but also assam prawns, salt baked chicken and bean paste deep fried pork as well.Prices are very reasonable and youd be hard pressed not wanting to make this a destination whenever youre in Taiping.

Probably one of the best curry fish head Ive ever had (and I do tend to try curry fish head in places that serve them). Another one of the shops that seem to operate out of a converted house (this seems common in taiping), theres an outside area and a air-conditioned inside area. Their salt baked chicken (Yim Kuk Kaiis quite delicious and very herbly. The Assam prawns are big and fresh. All ingredients are very fresh. And very reasonable price too. Probably my favorite eatery Ive tried in taiping

Fantastic place for a quiet lunch or dinner over in Taiping. You have to try their curry fish head, Assam prawns, otak otak and salt baked chicken. Amazing taste and you’ll dream about eating at this place every night 🤗☺️

Good few signature dishes

Family oriented restaurant. Dine with my family during festive season and the price is reasonable compare to other Chinese restaurant which you need to pay more during festival period. Recommended to call them and book for table during peak period. Food was good and suitable for large family and friends to dine in.

Food is not bad, authentic small town food. Love the salted fish bean sprout, simple but tasty. The man tou us crispy out side and soft inside. Stingray fish curry, assam prawn & otak was fairly tasty. Salted chicken looks dry outside but was moisture inside.

Curry Fish head wasnt fresh. Begger chicken was abit dry. Only the deep fried bun was good.Overall a let down compared to its heydays of the 90s.

It needs a private room for those who want a boisterous celebration, so as not to drown out the conversations of the other diners.Otherwise, try out the excellent otak. Wait for 20 minutes for them to steam

Traditional cooking with generous portion. Patronised by local and tourist that have great taste buds. Been here for many years (lost countand the taste still promising.Assam prawn, beggar chicken, curry fish head, fried spring roll with pork and also the fish in leaves are recommended.I am so glad to be back here again today. Another from small roadside restaurant mushroomed into a nice beautiful bigger modern restaurant to cater to bigger crowds of Customers from old times. Pricing is reasonable and is famous for the curry fish head dishes too. Would recommend for family dinner, celebrations,etc as dishes cooked are delicious to none...

Takes a bit long to serve given the CNY crowd but food is good. The curry fish head, herbal steamed chicken and otak-otak were stand-outs. Tamarind prawn was also interesting.

We really enjoyed the fish curry. The Petai beans were also interesting to try!
