Restaurang Kryp In - Swedish restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden
Excellent food, excellent beer, excellent service. Price as everybody else. What else ?Negative point? Closed tomorrow.
Delicious food! We took recommendations from our waitress and loved every course (apps, dinner & desert). A true taste of Stockholm , cooked to perfection. We sat outside despite the cold (they have space heaters & blankets).
As good as it gets. One of the must eats while in Stockholm. Quiet eating outside with the bells ringing nearby. Quick service and helpful people too. The reindeer was fabulous as well as the chanterelle soup.
Amazing meal in a very cozy and welcoming environment. The next time in Stockholm I will make sure it is either my first or last meal when I arrive in town. Perfect for a day of exploring the royal palace, Nobel Prize museum, or simply walking around Gamla Stan.I had a 3 course meal recommended by the staff. It consisted of their soup of the day + homemade cream cheese as an appetizer (really 2 courses in my opinion), red deer with a side of mashed potatoes, and lime cheese cake with white chocolate and a berry remoulade. Each item was amazing and it was as if each course was more remarkable than the last.It was also very fairly priced for a little less than 600 krona. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming as well. I accidentally left a hat at my table and they were quick to help me realize it after I walked out of the restaurant.I would recommend going in a small group as the restaurant is very small - I counted 6 or 7 tables inside total with half being for 2. That said, the larger parties seemed very comfortable at their tables and the restaurants homey atmosphere still invites table conversations. They also have outdoor seating in the side street its located for warmer months of the year!
Very nice restaurant, the dishes where very honest and tasteful! Worth the visit.
Greta place to enjoy some delicious Swedish delight. Highly recommend their tasting menu. Reservations recommended during busy season
Very nice typical Restaurant in the Old town. It is quite small and cozy. The Food ist delicious!
Dined outside. Wonderful service and food..Quant location in the old city..Had the herring appetizer and the Swedish meatball entree..Both nicely served and recommended.
Lovely experience at Kryp In. It was a very busy place so it is smart to book a table in advance especially during the weekends. We shared some starters and those were very good. Especially if you are looking for some more traditional swedish cuisine.Main course was reindeer meatball and those were very tasty, it comes with brown sauce, mashed potatoes and lingo berries. The mashed potatoes were very creamy.I would recommend this place if you want more traditional swedish cuisine. It is bit on the pricey side but that makes sense since the location.
Absolutely delicious. Visited here last December. The food was very good quality, tasty, and service was wonderful. We were given a small basket of different breads and dips as an appetizer which allowed us to try some traditional Swedish food. The place was lovely and cosy, quite small inside but it added to the ambiance.
The waitresses were very nice. The food was not memorable (which hold true for probably all swedish foodwith one exception - the chocolate tart which was shockingly good. The local ale is also good.
We arrived 15mins to kitchen closing but they were very kind to sit us.Bread and crackers served with caviar chives butter which was superbGazpacho was rich and flavorfulReindeer steak was perfectly made in a brown sauce with wonderful relishFish stew was delicious but a bit salty for my palateDark chocolate with hazelnut terrine served with poached strawberries and blueberries was perfect ending to a wonderful meal.Very reasonable prices, excellent quality highly recommended.
Food was very delicious and portions are quite big. Small but cozy authentic place, friendly smiling stuff. We enjoyed the time here
Fantastic tradional food, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere in a quieter street of the old town. Will definitely be back for a third time!
really good of value in stockholm. we order two dishes, both of them are delicious. brand and water are free. and really warm service.
A delicious intro to traditional Swedish cuisine. Crammed into a puzzle of small rooms. Menus in English were available. Reservations are highly recommended. Wife had the blackened salmon and I had the red deer, both were delicious.
One of the rare place in Stockholm where you can taste reindeer meat.In addition, delicious food, lovely staff and well decorated interior.
Fantastic food and lovely staff. I ate the casserole which in my opinion was a little salty but overall pleasant. My main issue would be the time it took from ordering to receiving my dish was rather long. Fantastic aside from that and I hope to return one day
Very nice service and great food! The cheese and salmon soup is to die for! 🫠
A great local and authentic spot. Quite busy so I’d recommend a reservation and the reindeer / venison meatballs are spot on!
The reindeer was spectacular. As was the asparagus soup. The waitress was able to recommend the perfect wine pairing. The staff was spectacular. I highly recommend.
The restaurant had a nice ambience, almost looked like an old house. We went there without a reservation and we couldnt find a place since it was very crowded. We walked around for half an hour and returned back just in time to find a spot. I couldnt find a vegetarian starter, but found an entree based on fried halloumi, which was great.
Good place to have a dinner. Not many choices, but you can order starters, soup, fish, reindeer, meatball, steak or others. Very good location in the middle of the city center. Service was good.
Stopped on a chance, and was pleasantly amazed by the food.Honestly, if I could, I would give it six stars. The reindeer was delicious, the soup fantastic, and the butter with caviar sublime.Do yourself a favor and visit here!
Traditional Swedish cuisine in the centre of Stockholm’s old town! Cute little hole in the wall venue down a picturesque cobbled street! The food was great, we only ordered mains and were greeted with complimentary breads and garlic butter! We also had desserts as a treat which was great! krypton In is well worth the visit and the food is great at a very reasonable price!
Small and cozy place, noise levels are inevitably high but the food is really good and the prices reasonable for old Town and the quality you get. Very good portions for both main and starters.
I had the reindeer roast beed and it was amazing. Really tasty and tender. Top choice. Environment was cozy and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Great “sneak in” restaurant with good “Swedish” food. If you want to go more Skandinavien style, then go for the Skagen as a starter and fish bowl for main.
Had a lovely solo meal here, thoroughly enjoyed the food! I had the 3 course set menu and would highly recommend! The flavours are fantastic and would definitely come back.
Let me just start by saying my goodness what a hidden gem this is. If our Airbnb was just down the street from the restaurant we likely would have never noticed it and I’m so happy we did even if it set the bar waaaay high for all of our other meals. My friends and I decided to have dinner here a bit late after arriving in Stockholm and although the place was nearly empty we were warmly welcome by our server. We ordered the reindeer stew, the fish casserole, and the three course meal (the only thing pictured unfortunately). We couldn’t stop taking bites of each others food or decide which was best because everything was so uniquely amazing. Even the dessert of what was like a flourless chocolate cake was so good we had to order another. Once again our waiter was incredibly kind, welcoming, and has a great sarcastic charm. If you want a comfortable and intimate memorable meal I can’t recommend them enough.
Good food (tender meat!and friendly staff with good sense of humor. Had a lovely evening, and you really have to „kryp in” (crawl inand watch your head if you are tall!
We came in on a Saturday night without a reservation and the extremely friendly waiter made a space for us! The food was incredible- the most tender reindeer I have ever had, the cloudberrys with ice cream were fantastic (and not to be missed!!I would really recommend this place for proper eating, cozy atmosphere, great service and just an all around great experience.
Such a nice little cozy restaurant. Great service, marvelous food, prices reasonable. Anytime again.
Extremely cosy and wonderful restaurant on a quiet but central location in Gamla Stan (you might not find it just by walking around exploring). The good recommendations for the reindeer main holds true! Fantastic dish where everything just tastes amazing. Only drawback was the size of the chocolate terrine - a little to small in my opinion, however great deep chocolate taste! Very polite and professional service.
Get the deer. Seriously, the most tender meat I’ve ever encountered. A gem in the busy Gamma Stan neighborhood tucked away from the tourists. Reservation highly recommended.
Exquisite Swedish cuisine, very nice ambiance and a friendly service. The three course menu included reindeer roast and a porcini mushroom soup. Delightful and highly recommended
WOW! Best meal EVER!!Try the Reindeer roastbeef, its AMAZING!
I had lunch and tried Reindeer with mushrooms, it was amazing and very delicious. And then tried Chocolate mousse for dessert and it was very good too.Staff are friendly, good vibe, real swedish food and clean place.
The pickled herring with red onions and potatoes and the casserole were really good, highly recommend them. The steak and the fish were good, but I prefer the casserole over the fish and steak. The chicken salad was okay, but nothing special. The staff was really nice.
Excellent Swedish food in a cosy environment. Our waitress was very friendly and guided to us towards the better dishes based on our tastes.
Absolutely adored this place. We were seated in the back corner which I loved because it was cozy and warm, but my partner who is always warm and too tall felt a bit claustrophobic and they moved us, no problem outside when a table opened up, which was nice to dine outside, get fresh summer air and people watch. The whole experience was so fun; the drink menu was good, they made helpful suggestions with local beer choices and drinks, the bread they bring out is soooo good I asked for a recipe and got one!! (Trying to recreate it will be impossible ;the caviar appetizer was so fresh, unique and we savored every bite. I got the char, my partner the reindeer and both were unbelievable. Also I recommend reservations. We made one two days before and kept seeing people turned away because they were full all night. Our waitress and waiter were both friendly and attentive. We almost came back a second time because we enjoyed the whole experience so much :)
Fantastic food and a good selection of local drinks. Various types of bread and an excellent raindeer dish. Perfect location in the heart of the Old City (Gamla Stanof Stockholm, but not so much a main road to be swarmed by photo-taking travelers. Nice service.
Although in old town and touristy area, it is off the busy area tucked in an alley. Very warm and cozy and lots of locals. Food was amazing and service was fabulous! Cod with new potatoes and crispy kale, white asparagus, and mushrooms was great. Fish and shrimp casserole was outstanding, more like a stew though. We lucked out with not having a reservation. Highly recommended!!
We got in rigbt before they closed for their lunch break and were happy extremely pleased with our meal (fish chowder, reindeer filet and Swedish meatballs), the staff was super friendly and the ambiance was cozy and warm. We felt like we were sitting in someones house and their Swedish grandmother prepared these dishes, it was everything we were looking for. The bread was wsrm, soft with a crusty exterior and butter was creamy and salty. Go for lunch but go earlier than we did and spend some time enjoying a glass of wine.
I can only recommend this restaurant! The food is great and the interior is really cozy. I had the reindeer roastbeef and it was delicious! The menu offers a variety of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. If you plan on going there you should definitely reserve a table as the restaurant is quite busy.
Cozy restaurant serving traditional dishes on a quiet street. First time trying reindeer and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Reservations recommended. I highly encourage you to take a break from busier streets and enjoy old town charm in this gem.
Yesterday we had dinner in this cosy restaurant. Best experience in Stockholm! Delicious three-course menu, beautiful presentation and subtle flavors. Asparagus soup as starter, reindeer as main course and chocolate mousse as dessert (which I traded with my wife for berry cheesecake).
Friendly staff and great food. Yes, it is pricy but it’s right in the middle of Stockholm and the atmosphere ist fantastic.Way better than some of the standard touristic spots. I can fully recommend the place. Have a great time.
Picked it because it was rated in the top ten in Gamla Stan. It was wonderful. We showed up on a Tuesday night around 8 without a reservation and were seated immediately. The reindeer roast beef was new to me and I loved it. Not gamey at all, like I expected. Very cosy and the staff were super friendly. Id definitely go back!
This is not great. It definitely is not bad, but also not great! The warm smoked salmon was over smoked, the fish soup was sour and lacking direction, though the reindeer was excellent. The wine suggestions were basic and neither coffee nor cocktails were exceptional. We might have had some badluck, but this is to much bad luck...
