Restaurace White Horse in Prague
Description
Privilege
Go somewhere else. Its 2x as expensive than other places you find 5 minutes away walking. For the money I have to say food is not good and they push you to leave a tip but the location is good (basically checks all the boxes for a "Tourist Trap").
MoreTought they were special and tried some boar. I do know how a boar is suposed to taste but didnt quite worked out. Went there twice for a goulash, very salty both dishes. Something is just off for me.
MoreGreat place to have a meal. Food was very tasty.Terezba was great, very friendly, polite and professional. Highly recommend.
MoreThe best place in Prague. Food really delicious 😋Personal friendly and very nice. Big thanks for Zanet 💗I recommend this restaurant for everyone 😊
MoreFavorite place in Prague….great food and fantastic service. We take a trip to Prague 4 times a year and the White Horse is always a mandatory stop. Terezka served our food and drinks and she was absolutely perfect. Great service and very friendly. Highly recommended.
MoreBeautiful cellar restaurant in Old Town. Live music and the best cappuccino ever made by Zaneta. ☺️
MoreA friend and I came here for dinner, We were served by Jurko who was amazing in recommendations and service! We ordered the Sirloin Steak, Royal Skewer & Ribs which were all amazing. Very happy customers 😊
MoreI had one of the most pleasant evenings & experience in Prague with White Horse’s staff and atmosphere, specially Jurko the restaurant’s supervisor, he was so great and helpful. Thank you all and defiantly a place I will visit on regular basis.
MoreExcellent food, and a really lovely atmosphere thanks to the live music, would come again!
MoreGreat location and large portions of good food. The staff was friendly. We ate at other restaurants on Old Square and this was the best.
MoreGood view, perfect location, but my meat 🥩 was dry and mashed potato 🥔 is cold 🥶. Not friendly enough waitress. Goulash soup was good.
MoreVery good food and the staff was very friendly
Had to get a cab to the clock tower. Too busy. 30€.
Horrible breakfast, overpriced, very poor and not tasty at all. Waiters kind of rude. What a rip-off! Don’t go there.
MoreTasty food, nice location but waiters looks likes very tired... They ran like a squirrel in a wheel, they didnt look happy... And this has a negative effect on the service.
MoreA good restaurant smack in the center of old town on the square itself. We came late at about 22.00 and it was not very busy, the waitresses however seemed very stressed and almost bothered or annoyed by the guests, maybe it had been a busy evening and they were tired. The food itself was top notch and the meat was perfectly prepared.
MoreWe stopped by for a quick meal why walking around in old town. Good view of the square, I had some pancakes and a frappe, they were also good.
MoreIts been a while since Ive eaten such delicious salmon. Waiters are professional and nice. While sitting outside, its possible to watch live performances and clock. I really recommend this restaurant to everyone.
MoreInsanely nice, expertly located, amazing atmosphere. The food was delicious, probably the best I have had on holiday. The cellar where you eat is stunning, with couches and nicely set tables. On top of this the service is excellent, and the cocktails were extensive and quite lovely.(Pictures are the grilled chicken, and the pork ribs.)
MoreGreat menu, location, and food. The inside is really neat too.
A very enjoyable experienceGreat location under the clockVery nice Czech food - we had the pork knee, and duck - sensible portions, so the prices were also sensible...I liked this...nice beers...75 Euro for 2 peopleDefinitely a winner!Friendly staff
MoreGood food and nice place and crew
Better to go somewhere else. Extremely unfriendly waiters. Service ONLY in English, complete refusal to accept an order in another language. Wait more than 30 minutes for food. Portions are small. The tables are very close to each other. Salads without drussing, salt or spices, at best, it is suggested to pour the oil yourself. For such a price, you can eat much tastier and faster in a more relaxed atmosphere!
MoreVery good local food and delicious
The Restaurant White Horse is definitely a place I would eat at again! You are able to sit right in the Old Town Square of Prague and enjoy a delicious meal while people stroll by marveling at the beauty. Or you can sit inside, underground with live music that set any mood you are looking for. Absolute gorgeous setup and atmosphere. I will definitely go back!
MoreVery nice service. We used the restaurant thanks to the commitment and professionalism of Mrs. Denis. Pleasant interiors, good live music, atmospheric place especially inside the restaurant on the lower floor. I recommend the restaurant. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to Prague
MoreThe waiter was the opposite of friendly, very disrespectful, consistently wanted us to order more.At the moment of the payment, my girlfriend and I refused to tip him. He started insulted us of « f**** French people » and insinuated that we had never worked in our life.Worst experience of my life in a restaurant/café!Too bad that I cannot give it a zero star.
MoreThis restaurant quickly became my favorite place during my stay in Prague. It has friendly staff, good traditional Czech food, great service, reasonable prices, and unobtrusive live entertainment most nights. It’s single most outstanding feature, though, is it’s prime location and atmosphere. Located right on the Old Town Square, it’s patio has an unobstructed view of all its major historical structures. The 12th century cellar restaurant also has an outstanding historical atmosphere.
MoreReally enjoyed our breakfast here and the staff were great. Thank you
You are only paying for the ambiance but its NOT WORTH IT.The place in itself is quite nice, there is live music and its quite stylish. In terms of the food, it was honestly really mediocre, food lacked a lot of taste, and it quite expensive too, so I wouldnt recommend if you are looking for an authentic Czech dinner. You can find much better food for way cheaper prices. On top of this, we were pressured by the waiter into letting a higher tip and we still dont understand how we payed so much ordering a few dishes. We must have payed the double that in other restaurants in Prague...
MoreVisited this venue last night for a business evening (mainly because of its central location), we were pleasantly surprised by the sheer excellence of service by our waiter Leone, serving as prove to the overall good reviews. Both the hostess and the waiting staff were professional and understood that it were a business setting, hence being discrete. We were provided a separated room on the lower floor of the restaurant. Highly recommend this venue for business meetings, as well as casual night outs. Kind and professional service.
MoreCheaper than the restaurants around it, very friendly staff. Great music and atmosphere!
Morethe best place Ive ever met. You can sit on the warm terrace and watch the Christmas tree. Prices were very pleasantly surprised. The staff is polite, friendly and speak very good English. I recommend this place 👍👍👍
MoreGreat restaurant with a nice view, located in Old Town Square not far from the Astronomical Clock.Had the mulled wine and rum & punch which were both really nice. Absolutely loved the beef stroganoff! The service was excellent - very friendly and attentive.
MoreCocktails were very good and we had a nice view over the town square. The personnel was nice and helpful.
MoreSo, this place is located on the main old town square, several meters away from the famous Clock Tower.Traditional Czech food here is fine, but after trying it in several places I cant say it is overwhelmingly awesome. Other cousine dishes, like soups and salads are genuinely great, I enjoyed them a lot.As of cocktails, the presentation is as it should be, no self made imrpovisation, all bound to classics which is really appreciated. Nothing extra, nothing too sweet or to sour, all good.At time when we came here, there was semi-live music, which wasnt too loud, which would intrude into our conversations. What else... Staff was phenomenal, they provided all assistance needed and I feel like I should have tipped them way more than I did.Last, but not least, pricing is rather fine, considering restaurant location. All their neighbours are priced around 15% higher for many equal dishes and drinks.Overall, I would highly recommend the place for a nice evening. To be honest, Id rate this place 9/10, taking one point purely because of subjective reason - I didnt enjoy whiskey of their choice for whiskey sour.
MoreThe food is very tasty and if it wasnt for the service I would give 5 stars. First, the table should be served by one person, not all waiters at once. Second, it is evident that the oldest waitress is introducing a bad atmosphere there. She is an infant to the customers. Everything was complemented by checking with us if we had left a tip.To sum up - food: very yes, service: very no
MoreA perfect place to drink your beer and absorb the citys centre vibe. Had also a veggie burger with mushrooms and I must say it was really good. Totally recommend.
MoreLovely restaurant in the middle of old town square with the clock tower in front of you. We sat In the sheltered area outside which gave us a lovely view of the square. We both went for the salmon pasta dish which was lovely and very filling. Great customer service too. Would definitely recommend this restaurant
MoreA bit pricey but good quality food. Will come next time again. We had Tagliatelle with salmon which needed a bit salt but that was fine and great because better less salt then to much 🙂The Spaghetti with tomatoes was really good.Portions are really big.Bar with drinks is cool as well.Quite elegant. We liked it and like to give 5 stars.😊✨OH yeah the soup was good as well 🌟👍
MoreWhite Horse is our #1 favourite restaurant in Prague. The atmosphere is posh. The staff is attentive, thorough, and quite prompt. The cocktails are delicious. And, the entrées are on a different level... Divine! We had the beef goulash with selection of dumplings and the duck confit with mash and beets. Both were tender, juicy, and flavourful. We enjoyed every bit. They looked so delightful that we forgot to take pictures before were tucked in, so our photos are a bit disheveled. We also ordered dessert: tiramisu and apple strudel. Again... Equally delicious. We will be back for another dinner. The prices are acceptable, a dinner of this level would easily be over $200 or even over €200. But with four cocktails each, two entrées, and two desserts it came to $ 160/€150. Without cocktails it was appx $50, which for a meal of this quality is an absolute steal. We will be back.
MoreGood, tasty food and polite staff. Prices may be resgarded as too high, but it is in the main square in Prague, so its nothing surprising. Interior is well designed and looks good, especially with the market square in the background. Nice place to eat dinner!
MoreWe just arrived on Prague today. It was our first meal in Prague. We asked server for recommendation for their signature dish . It is terrible. The meat is over cooked and it is hard to break your teeth with no favorite ! Don’t go to this restaurant for food! But it has nice view!
MoreVery nice location by the astronomical clock and prices are ok. Service was rather slow, though. Our omelettes were a bit chilled. The cinnamon pancake with blueberries was tasty, but was it supposed to be warm? After the omelette, one wonders..
MoreVery nice place that you dont see from the street. When you enter the restaurant on the square they offer you to eat in their dungeon. Felt like an old cave /grotto. I had buffalo mozzarella /tomato salad as a starter - amazing, and pork roast for mains. Also really delicious. The mulled wine was good - if thats your thing. Would recommend it anytime. Staff were friendly and the host had a permanent smile - incredible!
MorePasta and salad were fresh, but mediocre on flavor, and about $30 for the just these two items (ouch). Goulash bread bowl was good but spicy. Wait staff was indeed fantastic, helping us to quickly seat a group of 4 without prior reservation at a nice table. The atmosphere is what makes this place (almostworth the price: the cellar atmosphere is tastefully done and creates a mood conducive to good conversation and a good time. Good for a date if not too picky about food. Church square outside is touristy but family friendly until 10pm, when all the Barkers come out trying to lure passers-by to dance clubs and (ahemlocations of ill repute.
MoreLovely beef goulash and czech beer! Prices are a bit on the high side, but you have great views on the Old Town Square. Very helpful waitresses and waiters. Toilets are a bit small though. Overall a highly recommended restaurant.
MoreDelicious food and very good service. They even have a vegetarian menu. My attached picture is the goat cheese option. The mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables were good as well. They had live music downstairs in the cellar. Upstairs is a beautiful view of the square which also may have live music. The waiter gave us some nightlife options too :)
MoreLooked like a typical outside dining venueWas asked if we would like to go inside down stairs a little gem opened upGreat food, staff very friendly and pricing was just above average. A little advice tip with cash and not on card.
MoreNear the astronomical clock. Very good food experience. Friendly service. Menus is on iPad kinda fun to see how the food looks like.😁 Nothing Czech here but a great Italian restaurant. Vegetarian alternatives. The cellar is from the 12 century. Renovated with good ambiance. Would describe it romantic and good for groups as well. There was live music on a Saturday. Good old blues and other well known songs. Price is high but so is the quality.
