Táborská 389/49, 140 00 Praha 4-Nusle, Czechia, Prague
Wood-paneled walls & stags heads give a timeless feel to this classic Czech beer restaurant.
Favourite pub in Prague! Great atmosphere, huge potions and good service
I take one star because the first staff was rude, but not really, the other are very good. The thing is, there are two restaurants side by side that share the same kitchen and are probably are the same. But you wanna go to the one on the left where they look more like a restaurant than a bar. The bar staff did not speak english and tried to tell me the next door is where i want to be but i was not ble to understnd. However the one on the left has plenty of room, good food and good service.
Old school typical Czech tavern with tasty local beer.
very nice atmosphere and really good food
Really good authentic Czech food. The duck there is amazing!
Super disappointed with the duck - seems that it was left over from lunch. I have had it before and it was good but this was way below average at best. Would take the duck at U Bulinu 100 times over this experience.
They dont accept credit cars, my god, 21st century didnt come here yet!
Even in this hard time in Prague still exists normal PUB ❤️👌🍻 . Drafted (from tank"Plzeň" for beauty 55 CZK and what more... 😌🤗Amazing snacks which goes perfect with beer. For example I had got chicken wings with homemade bread for unbelievable 129 CZK. The environment is something like "Švejk" style. I really lovedit there, cant wait to visit this place again.Must see 👌🍻🤗😎
Felt authentically Czech
Good food and reasonable price. they have English menu and our waiter was nice. I recommend it👍
Great food, prices and staff.
When we visit Prague, we never miss it. The best roast duck with cabbage and dumplings. Very fast and kind service, a real authentic place. Fortunately, we always got a place, seven years ago with my wife and now with our two little boys. Cash is the accepted means of payment, it is worth changing if you want to eat delicious food. :)
Great beer, food and service. Got the stuffed duck and goulash, delicious local food.
The best duck Ive ever had! Service and prices also great
they dont take cards, they dont have smažák and they have menu on the dirtiest paper
If you want the true Czech experience this is it. Best duck Ive tasted and the beers are pretty good 👍 mostly locals here
The food was excellent, and tasty 😋
The stuffed duck tasted amazing. Probably one of the best food in Prague in terms of taste and value for money. Unfortunately, the server was very rude, it ruined the experience. First we thought maybe they do not like foreigners. But his behavior to the other foreigners were good enough. Maybe because we were POC.
Very good food, local people, very very fast sevice (payment only cash).Great bear also!
About 10 EUR for duck with dumplings and sauerkraut, kolach, and beer. The duck was slightly overcooked, but otherwise excellent. The kolach was homemade, and tasted great, too. Will definitely come back, as the meal was very good value.Nota bene: It was cash only!
Roasted duck did not disappoint. Do note that they do not have an English menu and do not speak English well too. They do not accept cards and will accept euros at a rate of 1 eur = 20 czh if you don’t have cash.
It’s well known for their speciality stuffed duck , and it’s a well deserved reputation as the duck is delicious. They also serve their own beers (usually 3, sometimes 4), which are also usually very good too. It’s easy to get to (on the 18 tram routeand the prices are as good as the food and beer.
It was perfect! This my first time trying czeke food, and my expectations was far below what I got!The food is so good, especially their special dish with 1/4 duck.Prices are low and good environment 😍
We were promptly served, English menu available and the food was really delicious! Go for the duck stuffed with potato pancakes, its a total crowd pleaser and the price is unbeatable! Goes well with a Pils too! We also tried the duck heart Goulash which is not for everyone (I personally dislike any kind of innardsbut it was flavourful and went very well with bread. There was a football game on the day we visited and the good mood and jolly atmosphere were infectious, we enjoyed it while maintaining a good distance from the crowd. Cash only but we knew that from other reviews already and came prepared. All in all, great experience!
One of my favorite restaurants in Prague! Excellent, affordable meals, local atmosphere and awesome craft beers on tap. Dont miss it, its a gem.
Extremely rude waiters. They even looked bothered when we were ordering our food (we are Czech speakers). They game us wrong order 2 times in a row, with huge indifference on customers wellbeing. I am beyond amazement how could anyone give it 5 stars..
This was my worst experience in Prague, I truly do not understand how this restaurant has such a high rating. The staff explained the menu (which is not available in English, but thats no problem). They recommended duck goulash, but it tastes terrible and they did not mention that its with duck hearts. Also the schnitzel is the worst schnitzel I have ever tasted. Awful, awful, awful.... Dont go here if youre a tourist, it will ruin your Prague experience
Me: hey do you have an English menu.Them: noMe: what do you recommend.Them: translate it with google.Me: I don’t have the keyboard for Czech.Them: laughs at me.Me: walks out.I am not a rude tourist at all. I love to go to local places and usually will get the food that the locals recommend. The fact that this guy has the balls to laugh at me because I didn’t speak Czech was ridiculous. I’ve never been treated with this kind of disrespect anywhere I’ve went. Walked out and never coming back.
Amazing experience. Delicious food and excellent customer service
If you want to feel real Czech bar vibe and eat delicious traditional meal, this is a place for you!
I miss this place. Used to go almost every day 1 summer. Would alternate between the schnitzel and the duck every time. They even gave me a beer mug the last day I was there. Highly recommend.
Extremely rude staff with the foreigners. We wanted to go since it was recommended by a friend. They make you wait for 20 minutes outside since tables were apparently booked, even if no reservation signs. Of course, nobody came, and we took a table. Menus only in Czech, ok, they do not help you with anything, you need to google translate all the menu. And, finally, the surprise: average food. Do not recommend.
Best czech-style roasted duck in town, amazing prices (the duck was for 129,- CZK at the time of our visit). Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area!
One of the greatest Czech restaurants Ive been to over the years. Great value, staff helpful. The stuffed duck is amazing. 5*
Amazing beer and food for incredibly cheap prices. Definitely a "worth it" place. I had a dinner there with 8 people recently and everything was amazing. Highlights of the evening were duck stuffed with potato dumplings, steak tartare or fried potato pancakes. Prague ham was great too 💪
Ok, this is very cool place at first. It has very cool atmosphere, dog bar, very nice beer. Food is delicious, cheap and the service is very fast (but kinda rough), they just ask what you want and give it to you in the shortest time. Everything is not expensive and really tasty, definitely recommend this place to tourists with less money 👌
Discovered U Bansethu via Mark Wiens :). It’s around 2 Km away from the old town, away from all the crowd and tourists etc. A typical Czech restaurant. We ordered the Czech delicacies - roast breaded duck with cabbage and potato. Also ordered the Svickova. And the beer on the tap.Perfect meal at a perfect price. Couldn’t have asked for more.Waiters were nice. Washrooms were also clean.
Very local traditional place with efficient service and affordable prices. 0.5l beer is 44czk and food portions are very big. Duck is their speciality. No credit cards accepted.
We had dinner at this restaurant the evening we arrived in Prague. We sat around a lot of Czech people and it was quite noisy. But the dishes were totally worth it! We had the Schnitzel and the duck burger. Everything homemade and so delicious. You should make a reservation, going there spontaneous is not the best decision as it is very well attended.
Great place. Authentic, local food and beer, low prices. I can only recommend the duck stuffed with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and gravy. Paid 10€ for a starter, the main dish and a beer (10% tip included). Top notch!
Excellent czech pub/restaurant. Ive had a great beef broth with liver dumplings and quarter of roasted duck with cabbage and potato pancakes. Enjoyed it. It was little bit noisy, but its to be expected as the place was full. Service was really fast.
Loved it. Only Tuesday night yet the place was full and buzzing and its that atmosphere that pushed this up from 4 to 5. The Czechs know how to have a good, simple night out where everything revolves around the company, and you feel that. Service was quick, beer was great, food was very good (duck burger could have been redder but the bacon on it was the best Ive tasted in years). We only got Czech menus but the Google Translate camera option dealt with that. Suspect we could have got English ones if we asked but they were very busy. Prices are excellent.
Tasty local food, very cheap and extremely friendly service!! Be advised - they only accept cash, no credit cards of any kind 💵
This is the place to be!!! Very good food combined with very good beer and all mens wishes come true. Very, very, like very, very cheap but still so delicious and so Prague. I will come back for sure!
The reviews on here that say waiters/waitresses don’t speak English are outdated. We had a perfect English speaker and a full English menu. The food was outstanding! If you are looking for authentic food because you want to see the real Prague or just want to convince your mum you weren’t here just to drink - this place is a must!!I’m gluten free and although they don’t have a specific menu the waitress was able to help me find something suitable.Hope this helps!
Worst place ever!they dont speak english at all.they have different menus for english l (6 dishes and from that only 3 available), while the czech customer can order anything. Waiter didnt want to split the bill for two couples.Didnt want to wait for us to look on the menu, and wanted to take our order right away after she brought our menus. Awful experience in our first day in Prague!
I just stumbled upon this restaurant, and I am so happy I did! The food and service was incredible. I had roast duck with potatoes and sauerkraut, Incredible! The food is very fairly priced and the quality is amazing. Please do yourself a favor and enjoy some Czech food at the Restaurant U Bansethu! You will be happy.
Good food, good drinks and friendly service. Portion is very big.
Get the duckWe were recommended to go here at out hotel and we loved et. The atmosphere and food was very good. The speciality is stuffed duck with delicious saurkraut but the duck burger also comes highly recommended by my son.
A great place to come allways back. FRESH Ducks and Ribs out from the oven - fair priced. Typical CZ, not to much tourists. Sometimes problems w/language + waiters.
