Description
If you are looking for a place to enjoy a glass of wine this is definitely worth your time to check out. There is a wide variety of wine and beer and the staff is incredibly versed on what they are pouring and can recommend alternative selections baste of let your taste
MoreThis is a really great place to go and have a glass of wine with a friend or on a date. Prices are reasonable, atmosphere amazing and the staff is very friendly.
MoreDena and the Residual Sugar family are awesome!!! I go to the Walnut Creek location for the most part, but the Concord location is very kid friendly ands has different menu options. The great part is they allow you to purchase bottles at discounted rates, so you can continue the party at home. The staff are so awesome and love all of them!!!
MoreAssortment of wines and little bites. I found the food menu to be a great value. The staff of very friendly and attentive.I went on a weekend evening and it wasn’t too busy. Will be looking forward to trying their happy hour soon.
MoreWine list is sub par, I end up getting an immediate headache and most of the wine isn’t that good. Overpriced for what it is.
MoreResidual sugar is WCs answer to a question we never thought to ask. Great wine, great ambience, and descriptions that are almost as fun as the experience!
MoreFantastic place to grab a bottle of wine.
Really tremendous service; attentive, thoughtful, and funny. The bar has excellent wines (with hilarious write upsand terrific cheeses selections. I will certainly return in the future.
MoreLoved coming here even before covid. Lots of excellent wine selection and good food. Staff is super friendly!Yesterday, we came by to support and they have a gorgeous parklet area with heated lamps for outdoor dining. We arrived much earlier then the open time, as their hours on Google were outdated, but the staff was willing to accommodate. Our server Emily (also known as penguinwas super friendly and welcoming. She was also very knowledgeable about the wine! Will definitely come back again to support this business.
MoreThe staff was very helpful and friendly. The couple next to us tried a bunch of wines before choosing one. I was surprised at how helpful the staff was to them. Seemed like they just wanted to try wine for free, but the staff kept helping them until they decided on a bottle. Great to see that kind of help. I think her name was Shannon.
MoreNice environment but they gave a very small pour on the red - happened a couple times - and the price is not low ($15/glass for the cheaper end)- menu also doesn’t change often (same offerings for 6 months)
Moregreat servers!!!! great wine!!! awesome pulled pork sliders!!!!
This is a very nice wine bar in downtown Walnut Creek.I came in on Saturday night over Labor Day weekend, and there were not many patrons there. Service was outstanding, as the staff was incredibly knowledge about the wine on the menu. Small bites available range from gourmet cheeses, to paninis, and pulled pork sliders. I had the pulled pork sliders, and they were absolutely delicious!I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be back!
MoreSo much fun! Great wines!
Lovely place with a ton of wine options!
Great staff and wine selection
Nice wine bar with a great selection. We are happy to be back here. We left due to the very small pours. When you spend $18-25 a glass, it should be a glass. They seem better the last few visits so we will continue to return.Great date spot. Usually filled with couples.
MoreTheir wine descriptions alone are reason to go! Knowledgeable staff and delicious wine and beautiful space. Always a go-to when Im craving a wine in Walnut Creek.
MoreThis would be a five star spot if the television wasnt killing the otherwise perfect ambiance. Seriously.
MoreGreat service & nice selection of wine. Added an outdoor patio which is great for warm weather
MoreNot a huge fan but service is excellent. If I open a wine bar, theyre in trouble.
MoreGreat wine selection and hang out with friends
Love the bartenders here. They are super friendly, and always recommend a great glass!
MoreAlways a great experience at RS. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; always eager to share their opinion about the different wines they offer and make recommendations based on your tastes. The food is good too. Try one of the paninis - or all of them.If you can, sit outside. It’s conformable and relaxing.
MoreA bit pricey for my taste but Im more of a beer than wine person. The cheese and meat plater was delicious tho. Only one bathroom was a downside
MoreGreat wine and even better service
A great wine bar that almost always has tables available. Their selection is good but not great, and the prices are a little steep but not reasonable.
MoreDeena and crew have it down pat with exceptional service acumen to go along with a non frantic atmosphere. You are welcomed before the door hits your rear when you enter this gem of a wine bar. I almost dont want others to know about it but that would be selfish. They also have a very well-thought-out wine list as opposed to what you would normally expect from a typical Wine Bar.Just dont sit in my seat.
MoreGreat wine bar down Locust street in Walnut Creek. Go for the $5 house drinks before 6pm. Try the fromage blanc drizzled with honey - delicious. The ambiance and staff are warm and welcoming. I would definitely go again!
MoreNice atmosphere and knowledgeable servers (sommeliers?). Nice selection of by the glass and flights. Would be 5 stars if they switched up the selection more frequently.
MoreGreat service and I like the fun wine descriptions
The only reason I rated this 5 stars was that I could not rate it 6. This place is amazing. No other way to describe it. The wine selection is surreal and the munchies are to die for. My only complaint is that they close too early because I could literally live here.
MoreVery friendly staff, knowledgeable bartender (Darren?), great wine flight suggestions, fab decor! Even has outdoor seating
MoreDecent selection with a bartender who let me taste almost every wine on the menu before deciding, and still the best that I could choose was not anything spectacular. I was there when there was a corporate event so maybe that contributed to the overall feel of the place, which may not be fair. The bartender was as attentive as he could be while tending to the larger group by himself. Prices are what you would expect for a Walnut Creek wine bar, as is the selection. Still, all being said and done its probably one of the better options in the area.
MoreNice place and nice staff. Outdoor seating as well
The place is really nice. The price was a little bit salty.
Always the best.. Amazing wine and great small plates.
Very rude bartender, snoody and stuck up young woman... But good atmosphere, even though it doesnt make up for a stank attitude.
MoreVery expensive. Full of tinder dates and rich kids going to the bathroom in groups.
MoreGreat local wine bar. Dark, rich colors and beautiful lighting. Adventurous wine menu from around the world. Happy hour till 6pm every night. Tasty small plates and cheese menu.
MoreMore casual and slightly cheaper than most wine bars considering the area.
The service is always great. The wine may be a little pricey but its wine that you might not otherwise try. And not much more than other high end wine shops charge. Cheese and meats were fabulous and the staff does a great job with recommendations. I love to take clients there. Great ambience.
MoreIts great to find wine spots with so many options. 90s hip hop in the background, simple food options, and a fun loving staff makes this place a true gem.
MoreLove this place. Its a great place to begin your evening in Walnut Creek. Thoughtful wine and beer list. Great tapas too.
MoreWent for a drink early on a Friday. Staff was more interested in taking to themselves instead of serving the people at the bar. Had a forgettable meat plate. Better options nearby.
MoreGreat little place with lots of options to choose from. I really enjoyed it even though I was there for a short period of time.
MoreThis is it! Love the wine and atmosphere, date night staple.
Wine bar wine bar wine bar. Just in case you havent figured out already this is wine bar. They have a few food items, like a few options for a cheese plate or a grilled cheese. Dont come here looking to eat dinner. Even saying its Tapas would be stretching it. The wine list is vast though. Quite a huge list and the staff seem to be quite knowledgeable. There are also 4 beers and for the non-alcoholics in your party, there is pellegrino water (not flavoredand a root beer from a bottle. Thats pretty much it. Again - its a wine bar. Overall the place was nice, except we went on a Friday without a reservation and we couldnt sit at a table for too long since they had a reservation for it. But they were nice enough to let us sit there until their reservation. Its rather small with a few tables, some seats at the bar.
MoreI so wish that I could say that I had a pleasurable experience here. An admitted wino and former bartender at another wine place, Ive developed a palate and appreciation for a wide variety of wines. A friend and I both tried flights (3 tastes, I believe 2 oz pours, for $22). We chose completely different wines (6 different in the ranges of $15-$25/glassfrom regions all over the world from France and Spain to Napa, and truly all but one were utterly undrinkable. Our bartender must have noticed us asking for the check before taking no more than a sip from each and couldnt be bother to ask us if we even enjoyed them. We walked out of there $60 later having had a mere sip. The only thing this place has going for it is ambiance. For sure skip it and go to Va de Vi. Never had a bad wine or experience there.
MoreI really dont drink wine and whenever I go here its for the beer and the atmosphere. Its my favorite place in walnut creek to chat with friends and show how wonderful the bars are in the area.
