Very lively part of the city, so many restaurants near here. This is like the city center. Beautiful fountain show at night and nice pink colors at day.

generally a nice place, I used t enjoy walking around in the evenings until on 13 July there was a fight and someone knocked down another person to ground with bloodshed and then police and emergency came! it was a drastic event/ fight that messed the place for me.

Lovely place for walk, nice views

Even in cold winter this square looked nice and elegant with a pink marble buildings around it. Its pleasant to have a walk in the evening here, might get busy here. Seems like if you are in Yerevan, it will be difficult to miss this place.

Lively place. We visited Yerevan during the annual water festival and Republic Square is the place where it all happens 😀If you dont like to be drenched by the joyful crowed, I wouldnt recommend you to visit this place during the water festival. It is located in the heart of the city and many great restaurants are located nearby. It is well lit during night time making it a nice place ro take a photo

Lovely spot for taking pictures and comparing different tour options offered by vans next to sidewalks. The fountain and the big clock in here makes it very lovely to take fantastic/touristic shots.

A great place to just sit back and relax and enjoy the music while watching the dancing fountains! My son loved the fountains so much we didnt notice the time. Definitely a place to see if you visit Yereven.

Heart and soul of Yerevan and Armenia too as here are government buildings and Armenia National Museum where they try (almost succesfullyto tell the story of a people which had a complex and many times relly tragic story. Place is large, prettied by fountains but it is more or less a parking lot for tourist buses offering city sightseeing tours. There are luxury hotels there, too, bars and restaurants. A good place to hang out after spending some hours in the Museum.

It’s during this time period that the singing fountains, initially designed by engineer and scientist Abram Abramyan, operate and perform a light show right in front of the Art Gallery and History Museum. The program features classical music, contemporary jazz, pop and rock.The Show usually starts at 9 pm or 10 pm and lasts until 11 pm. Both the fountains and their colors change according to the rhythm of the song or the music played. The water streams, in their turn, change their shapes. The show is really entertaining and absolutely worth to be visited.The fountains were renovated in 2007. And now they feature computer-controlled water displays.

The first time I visited this place was in the afternoon. The builidngs surrounding it was just amazing and old. I have this love towards old and antique architecture, So I loved whole armenia.I visited the square again at night and it was so joyful, peopld were gathering around looking at the water fountain and everyone was happy.

Great place for a good picture.Not a bad place to meet up to begin a night out on the town.Plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby as well, or simply relax alongside all the fountains and pools.Interesting Armenian touch added to the 18th century architecture in the square keep things interestingly different from other cities.

Beautiful Armenia! Lovely country full of historical places. I just walked around and experienced this special city step by step. Would highly recommend visiting Republic Square. I was there on New year and I celebrated with the beautiful Armenian people while it was snowing like crazy. A new year I will never forget ❤️

A very pleasant area to see.. easily available transportation, centered right near almost most of the popular hotels. There are tour operators available there if you are planning to book any tours as well as juice and coffee shops around the area for helping you grab a quick hot cup during winter..loved it and worth a visit at least once.

Of course would be silly to compare to squares in major world capitals. But nevertheless this square is the main square where Armenian independence and sovereignty were forged. Busy always with taxists, tourist companies and bureaucrats in the nearby parliament building. There is a great museum nearby and make sure to visit it. It’s cheap and interesting about Armenian history.
