Aardenhoek 26a, 4817 NE Breda, Netherlands, Katwijk aan Zee
Indoor tropical reptile house with snakes, turtles & crocodiles, plus opportunities to handle some.
great experience, the animals look great and you can see that someone cares for them
Every single person working there is out of this world amazing!Animals are well cared for and we had ones again, great experience.Without doubt, I will be back.
The place is attractive but definitely expensive. Volunteers working with the Reptile house do not speak English or describe the characteristics of the Reptiles in English.Sad that they charge a whopping €10 per person but do not give a great demonstration of the animals in captivity.General observation is that many animals are stuffed in very small enclosures that can lead to stress and premature death. Sorry to say but the Reptile house is not doing an ethical business by keeping animals in small enclosures.
Its a really beautiful place, quite small but cosy. The staff are wonderful and they organise a lot of fun activities.
You are able to find this location around or behind a neighborhood. The staff is pretty friendly and allows you to take photos but they do warn you that some animals cant take the flash on your camera.. Not that this is needed since there is enough light. The tickets for adult (what i have paid forwas €10. You dont need to wait or purchase an online ticket. You can pay with cash or card.. the room isnt too big, there is 1 floor. and there are several animals in here to explore. There is one of the workers touring you around and telling you about this and that. you could even hold some of the animals. This is definitely meant for younger people but if you do have a spark of interest this is definitely an interesting place to visit. If you are exploring on your own, you could be done in about 15 minutes. Depending on your interest.
A very small but professional installation, in what is largely a residential neighbourhood.
This is just what a reptile house needs to be. As a redfoot owner I was excited about the good representation of tortoises, and the family of sulcatas is amazing. Its just big enough for a nice afternoon out of office. I would recommend a few more smaller items, say, a scorpion, a praying mantis, gecko, huntsman spider, etc. Would be awesome to see a tuatara which is in its own order of reptiles. I would also come back for an Aruban whiptail lizard (+ a whipped cream hot chocolate).
Really amazing Reptile House! So many beautiful reptiles and beautiful big habitats for them as well. Learned a lot, as the guides also taught in English! Really nice guides as well. 10/10 :)
Fun, interactive, friendly. The inside is beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. The selection of animals is fairly wide for the buildings footprint. And the interactive elements are both professional and come around quickly so youre not stuck in there waiting for whatever bit youre interested in. Definitely recommended.
Really amazing place. One of the best activities weve ever done with our now 8 year old. The quality of the staff - friendly, helpful, enthusiastic - is extremely high
Found this little place by accident and it was awesome!! One of the handlers came and let us hold a snake and was very informative and friendly. The collection of reptiles is very impressive for such a cosy place.
Absolutely wonderful place, a visit is highly recommended
A very pleasant surprise! Incredibly friendly staff who are eager for a chat and take the time to tell you something about the animals. There might not be as many animals as some others places, but its made up for with beautiful, spacious exhibits. The aesthetic is modern, yet still very naturalistic.I had a lovely time.Make sure to catch some of the presentations as well, getting to hold an insect or snake is a great experience!
small but nice place, totally worth a visit
Great little exhibition of divers reptiles. Very nice people and educational. Very good.
Definitely worth visiting, not biggest but wel displayed reotails clean, some time staff gives small presentation, we will be back some tile for sure
Lovely little place to visit! A good variety of reptiles to see, place is beautifully kept, and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable! Talks given in Dutch but were happy to explain in English. Would definitely recommend a visit!
The reptile house has a variety of reptiles, cared for by really nice caretakers who are very easy to approach and eager to answer questions about them.
Nice private reptiles zoo. Indoor. Children get to pet some animals. Very clean. Good explication in Dutch. Only not for wheelchair. Theres only a staircase to go up. You can buy beverages and outside theres a picknick area where you can also sit when its raining.
Amazing place to visit while being in Breda, people are very nice and all speak English for whome dont speak Dutch ❤❤
One single room (on 2 levelsbut all the reptiles are very well kept. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Kids might even be able to hold a snake or feed the turtles. I recommend it for a 2 hours outing.
This is a very friendly little reptile zoo with many options for children to interact with the animals. They have some quite rare species too! Very impressive is also their special to spend half a day with one of the zookeepers getting explanations on how to monitor the health of the animals, to help clean the cages and to feed the animals. Plan it right and you can feed the crocodile!
A great place to get a very close look of some gorgeous reptiles. The place is neat, very creatively decorated and beautifully made. The staff is friendly and there are plenty of demonstrations of animals to see/touch/feed. The Corona situation is handled well and does not get in the way of the experience.
It is a nice place to visit with the kids. You can also drink a 🍵 tea or a Coffee ☕.
Went there with my wife and kid(nearly 4). His favorite two animals are snakes and turtles. When we arrived he jumped from one place to the next because they had lots of snakes and turtles. The place is small and very clean. The fact that its small allows you to get very close to the animals. The staff working there is also very friendly, knowledgeable and happy to tell you more about the animals. They even bring them out so you can pet a snake or put it around your neck if you dare.Would definitely recommend it if you like reptiles. Youll only spend 30-90 minutes in there though.
Very nice place. Small but very well organized and spacious for the reptiles it seems. Staff there to have kids touch and carry snakes and other animals.
Much smaller place but very well maintained one 👍The reptiles are taken good care of. Usually you can spend around 30 - 40 minutes here.
Amazing experience! Lovely animals, beautiful terrariums and a super staff to boot. Friendly animal carers where you could ask all your questions and more. Would recommend any time of day to anyone!
Beautiful and captivating for visitors. Rare animal or reptile species viewable by visitors
Despite its rather small size, it is nice place to see different sorts of reptiles. The staff are friendly and kindly provide information about different creatures that are there. It is a great place for kids and families. The place itself is cozy, with seats and table to sit for a snack/refreshment.
Very nice activity to do with the little ones, super friendly and knowledgeable staff... Highly recommended
Amazing place!
Small and very nice, can be recommendThe staff is great with the kids
Small but excellent living spaces for the animals ! Some zoos could take an example of these areas ! Also a nice owner who takes the time to explain and awnser questions. Has nice options for the kids, like holding a snake or bearded dragon and I can imagine it would be awesome to host a birthday party for the kids here ! Recommended to drop by and combine with other activities in the area.
Very nice people working there, very nice atmosphere and the animals looked right at home
Small zoo, but large and extremely well taken care of habitats for a wide variety of reptiles!
Brilliant .. Everyone was really knowledgeable and friendly. All the animals were wonderfully cared for. I got to hold a snake too. I would recommend stoping in to see them .
I love reptiles and I went to Breda ONLY BECAUSE OF THIS PLACE. I am serious. The place is really small and dont expect a zoo or anything like that. But. What an amazing place. So clean, everything is structured and the animals are in amazing shape and conditions. Staff was extremely friendly and polite. After you finish your tour (about 1 houryou can sit down and enjoy a coffee from the coffee machine. I think I paid around 10 euros for the ticket and totally worth it. Good job guys. Keep it up and we ll visit you again!
Its a small but very nice exposition of reptiles.People are very kind, animals are well kept.
Loved it! I went there just a few weeks ago with a friend. As a reptile lover, I found the place very entertaining and full of resources to learn about them. In addition, its also a great place for children, they can even celebrate their birthday there! Workers are passionate about their work and interact with visitors friendly, often doing demonstrations. Great experience :)
Great place to see all kinds of reptiles in a very nice atmosphere. Employees are very motivated to guide you around.
Its very small but fun for a quick visit. U can also hold a snake or put one on youre neck. Theres diffrent kind of lizards and frogs.
We had the place to ourselves when we went there, and my son loved it.
Small but very nice reptile house. Beautiful deco, attention given to details, interaction between visitors and animals, very friendly staff, great for a few hours
Nice place for people with small kids. You get to interact with some of the animals which is nice.
It is very small, but plenty to see. Children have the opportunity to hold a snake and watch the lizards get fed. Overall, a fun experience for our little family.
It’s a small place but it’s a little hidden treasure in Breda. The animals are all in perfectly maintained areas and the staff are so knowledgable about them! There’s also a member of staff walking around with some of them! There’s a small cafe but you can bring your own food and sit there. There’s an inside or outside seating area which is great. There’s a little craft area for the kids to play with the dinosaur toys and also to colour in drawings. An informative, well worth it trip! We’ll definitely be back!

Its not very big but the people know a lot about the animals! Very nice!
A hidden gem with a nice collection of snakes, turtles, iguanas and other animals. While it is not a massive zoo, we easily spent four hours without getting bored. The facilities are modern and well-maintained. The kids party package was a winner with kids able to hold and feed some of the animals.
