Great one night stay! Convenient to the train station and old town Luzern.
Clean, modern and recently renovated hotel, quality is on par of the nicest hotels in the area. The breakfast room is in the pacifico restaurant which is very nice and there is a good variety. The location is perfect for train transportation and city center visits. I will repeat if I have the opportunity.
I have to say this is the first time I have ever given a 2 start review to any hotel in the Marriott group as I am normally very satisfied and loyal to their properties. This hotel was a huge disappointment considering we had stayed at The Grand Hotel Suisse in the days prior and it was exceptional. I understand that as this hotel is right in the city center that the rooms would be smaller and less grand but considering it was the same price the front desk staff were awful to us. (On a side note Martina was excellent although she never served us we witnessed her extreme professionalism and exceptional customer service with other guests). Tenzin basically laughed at us during check in for our questions about the bus passes and a possibility for a status upgrade. We are pretty easy going travelers as we travel for a living so it was quite upsetting for our first experience in Lucerne. I give it 2 starts for location alone. I won’t ever stay here again or recommend. There are far better properties for the price in the area. Switzerland is fantastic, The Renaissance Lucerne is not.
Great location but no views. The 5th floor has trusses in the middle of the rooms. The fourth floor has balconies.
The staff was incredibly helpful at check in and recommended a great brewery across the way that we really enjoyed. However, as a Titanium Elite member upon check in I was advised I had been "upgraded" - I presumed this meant we would have a larger room which was welcomed since we were traveling with our 11 month old. We headed up to our room and were shocked to find our "upgrade", while it was on the top floor, was not a superior room. The bathroom was not separate from the rest of the room and the ceilings were slanted. We ended up asking to be moved to be closer to my in-laws who we were traveling with. When we saw my mother in laws room, it had a completely separate living area with a pull out couch. A place that would have been perfect for our daughters crib. Its worth confirming that my mother in law and I booked the exact same type of room and she has Gold Status and I have Titanium. It was a really strange experience. We didnt end up saying anything because we were only there for 1 night and there was another couple being completely ridiculous about their status and rooms. I would just give the feedback to maybe ask a member what they are looking for in an upgrade. The first room we were given was not a room I would have wanted to stay in even without my daughter. It was very awkward and not a room the highest levels of loyalty should be getting "upgraded" to.
We have stayed at the hotel everytime we are in Switzerland. It is conveniently located near the train station and the old Town. It can be a bit warm during warmer days and opening windows can lead to noisy street noise. Otherwise its a great place to stay.
This Hotel has great service and location. It, in my opinion is geared towards the younger crowd. Fun and loud atmosphere if you are into EDM and are on the first floor you will hear it from your room. The front desk attendant Kevin was very accomodating and welcoming. He helped my wife with the bags as I went to find parking.Breakfast was good. I ordered an omlette and hashbrowns so there are a few American options to choose from. Some Asian options as well. There was smoked salmon with capers and cheese as well as an assortment of pastries and yogurts and cereals. There is no pool or steamroom/sauna but there is a nice workout gym and a public lounge with an alcohol and softdrink vending machine.Overall I would return. To those complaining about the noise, ask for a higher floor and you should be ok.
Great location for anyone trying to see all the major tourist attractions. The staff was awesome and helped us with our planning. The only complaint is the lack of an M lounge considering this a higher tier Marriott.
Rooms are small even by European standards and they charge for a child (60 euro for one night- location was great and restaurant staff were exceptionally lovely but wouldn’t rush back to book this hotel again.
Poor quality property. Super small rooms. Definitely, not a typical Renaissance property. We told them within hrs after arriving that we would like to check out the next day, and they said no problem and agreed to cancel it. They then proceeded to charge us for an extra night, even though the night before they said it was no problem. Never before has this happened with a high end brand.
Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable beds. Would stay again.
It was a fantastic visit to Lucerne as it was my first tour here. Im grateful to all the Renaissance Lucerne Hotel staff for their amazing service. The reception was quite smooth as well as helpful. I found the best of this hotel in breakfast! It was lovely indeed! Hot and fresh. Rooms were clean and nice but a bit dated; maybe they could use some minor refresh. I would probably stay here again.
Not worth for money. No single bottle of mineral water is provided and need to pay at Fr 9.Room is tiny and no place to put clothes. Why they put upgraded with Ceiling deck beside.
Central Location is perfect walking distance from the train station and waterfront. Accommodations are beautiful and staff were the best. Most helpful with directions, recommendations and reservations.
Bed is super comfortable and staff is extremely pleasant. Breakfast is ok. Room is very nice in quality but a little small. I know it is typical to not have door on shower but a lot of water splashes out when using.
The hotel is great. Great location and great staff. The people at the front desk are so nice and helpful. We would 100% stay here again.
