If weather was better, it would be absolutely awesome! We had a small clearing but not too much on our hike! But absolutely worth it!

An absolute must-do hike in Lofoten! The climb is brutal, consisting of 1978 steps of varying height, if you make it to the top, youre rewarded with the most stunning and magical panorama one can imagine. A truly iconic vista. It took us about 45 minutes to the top and about 30 minutes down, but it can easily be double or triple the time if you are not very fit. Shaking legs are guaranteed. If possible, do it in the morning for the sunrise, because it will be less crowded then.

Amazing, unbelievable place. The view is too good to be true. The hike is just stairs, so very accessible for everyone. 1975 to be exact. Its not fun, but when you get up you realize its absolute worth it.

Sincerely, one of my favorite excursions in my life. There is only 1 hour approximately to arrive on the top of the mountain. It’s important to know that there are 2000 steps. You may be finish with a jelly legs, but the views on the top make it worth it

The view is totally worth the effort! One of the best views weve seen during our trip in Norway. It took us around an hour to climb the stairs. Watch out your steps up there, its muddy and slippery in rainy days and its quite dangerous. Dont go up if its too muddy, dont risk it and enjoy the view from the point where the stairs end.

Absolut must do on Lofoten! 1900 steps (like stairsbut absolutely worth it! The view is amazing. No need of alpine hiking boots… good trekking shoes or trail running shoes are enough. Sneakers I would not recommend. Hiking sticks are also an advantage for people with knee problems while walking down. Its verz steep!

If you are fit, it is possible in roughly 36 minutes to get up to the plateau on the left hand side of the stairs end. Take it as a challenge. Beautiful view and if the sun is shining you can relax on the stones there.

Great views. The way there is very crowded and touristic but its kind of expected after checking the reviews. Recommendation: continue the hike to the real Reinebringen top, the views are totally worth and better 360 panorama views. Second pic is from the touristic spot, first & third pic from the real peak.

Easily accessible trail that offers a stunning vista at the top. The trail is entirely made of Sherpa steps (1,500+ of themso if you don’t like stairs, you’re going to be miserable, also very rough on the knees. Fairly short, but steep climb, took me around 2 hours in total. Heavily trafficked which can make passing on stairs tedious. Not a trail for those looking to get lost in nature.

Better climb than Ryten/Kvalvika. This can also be climbed on a rainy day without getting super muddy. Amazing views from above. We are fit so it took us 45min up, 30min staying there and 15min down.

Absolutely spectacular peak, with sweeping vistas of Reine and the neighbouring peaks, just as expected. Few things to note though before you take off...- Its not a stretch to say that the climb itself is rather boring. Since you basically do 470 meters of elevation gain in just one kilometer, its a serious uphill struggle on something like a thousand steps that they have just recently completed (as the route was closed for renovation). Your knees wont like you if you take them there.- When climbing it in August there was basically a line of people going up the peak, meaning so many hikers that if someones looking for solitude away from all the irritating insta-crowds then this is the last place I can recommend. You can climb sooo many other peaks (Ryten, Helvetestinden, Offersoykammen, etc.), where you will probably not come across more than a dozen hikers and get the same type of views.- The location of the peak seems to be somewhat falsely and misleadingly advertised. 95% of people do not go further than the first peak on the top of the stairs - however, that is only 470 meters. To access the real peak that is called "Reinebringen" on the official maps (666 meters highyou need to do a bit of a descent from that one and climb on - around 45 mins more one way. Is it worth it? Yes! The views improve even further the more you climb up, and you leave all the crowds behind. BUT! For Gods sake, Im not one with a fear of heights, but for the first time in my life I had to turn back 10 mins before the end, as the ridge is insanely steep on both sides and at a few points so unsafe that Im really puzzled as to why they couldnt install some chains or just close the whole thing off. I really didnt consider it safe, and I did my fair share of hikes.Because of these its not a five out of five for me, however still I would call it a must-do, especially since its not a long one (you can do the first peak in 90 mins tops).

If you suffer from vertigo or fear of heights, best avoid this hike. The stairs are, or seem, very steep. Other than that, this is a very convenient and rewarding short hike. We walked from Reine and the whole hike was only a 2 hour return trip. The steps were not slippery, despite it raining a lot yesterday. Very busy.

The stairs take you all way to the top. There is no need to start climbing dangerously on the rocks. From the top of the stairs the view is stunning! Climbing the stairs was really hard, you have to be in very good shape if you are able to do it without sitting down once in awhile… My legs were trembling once got back down. So take water and some snacks with you. But it was worth it!

If you dont exercise regularly, you might struggle to get up all the stair. But, it is doable, just be ready to have multiple breaks. The view is worth it. Make sure the weather is good. Do not go if it rains, stairs could be dangerous! Coming down was easy but scary :)There was enough space in the parking lot (the one after Reine, closer to moskeneswhen we went about 9am. The day before we tried to get parking lot 12 o clock and never found one.remember to have enought water (1literand a bag with you - at some point you will feel so hot you want to take all extra clothes off. Some people had jeans on and i dont know how they didnt loose their mind on way up.

The stoned paved path on the hike was built by Sherpas from Nepal. It is a lovely hike which can be challenging to some of us.Highly recommended! If heaven was a place, Reinebringen comes closest to it.+ You will love everything about it.+It is green, green and green+ It is blue, blue and blue.+ The hike is perfect.

Nice rocksteps all the way to the top. It takes more time than you expect and going back down is more difficult than up. Hopefully the view on the top is macnificent! There is also many rockmade bench where you could get some rest and drink some coffee on the way to the top. This is the shortest way go to top of the mountain. Route is short but taff! Only negative in this blace is parkind are. Very small area is before tunnel. There is second area after tunnel and next bridge. There is more spece and its takes about 20min to walk to the beginning of stairs of mountain!

This is undoubtedly one of the most important hikes in the whole of Lofoten. A real ‘must see’. It is a short but very steep hike where you follow a path along the side of the mountain. It is a challenging hike, but when you reach the top of the Reinebringen, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the Reine and the surrounding coast. Estimate 3-4 hours to complete.

I am an experienced hiker but still here I had to say goodbye to one of my lungs 😂 regardless of the 2000 very steep steps, the view is worth every single one of them. Absolutely gorgeous! But please people DO NOT LITTER THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACES WITH YOUR USED TISSUES! If you decide to go up there, bring a small bag for your garbage 🙏Good shoes recommended for the hike up.PS. Keep in mind that if you are going for the midnight sun, you wont be able to see it as it sets behind the mountains on eastern side, Id recommend to go around 10 pm to enjoy the beautiful Golden Hour and eventually stay until midnight if youd like.

No snow on the trail, but was slightly rainy yesterday when we went at 2am. It felt slippery on the path and we didnt finish. There were almost nobody at the top when we went and plenty of parking lot spots if needed. Theres usually campers and RVs there from before so you need to go early to get a good parking spot.Check the weather and cloud cover before you go so you get the view you want.Otherwise, theres about 2000 steps up (counted around 1978 to 2025 steps). After that is a slicker dirt path.

Fantastic hike with a fantastic view of the town and islands below. We went up on the hike around 1am and the stairs were initially pretty dry. As we climbed and got to the top of the ~2000 stairs, we encountered a few light rain showers which made the stairs wet (but not slippery). After you compete the stairs, there is a dirt & rock path that leads to the top which can get a bit slippery when wet. There were parking spaces avail near the base of the hike (entrance of Reineat 1am when we went.

22/4/2022 - Last part of the stairs is still snowed over, too steep and icy to climb with regular hiking shoes (tried). The view is magnificent but you cant see Reine from the stairs. The stairs are great work from the Sherpas, its still a long way up but a lot easier thanks to this stairway to heaven.

Everyone says the hike is worth the view and theyre right! Parked at the Reine viewpoint parking. Easy walk along the road to the start of the hike. We are fit and it took us 1 hr to get to the top and thats including the walk from the parking lot. Its roughly 2,000 steps to the top. We brought slip on crampons which allowed to climb to the tallest point. We did this hike in sequence with the sunrise. It didnt disappoint! Must do this if youre in Reine

NO SUNSET BUT SUITABLE FOR EVERYONEThis trekking is possible to everyone, even if you are not trained!A sporty person does it in 30 minute. A non sporty person or a person who wants to enjoy the experience more calmy could employ 1h30 hours to climbe to the top. About 20/45 minute to go back down. The steps are steep and so much but the landscapes is WONDERFUL but remember that the summit is forward the East so the SUNSET is behind the mountain.

Should be on everyones "bucket list"!One of the most popular hiking trails in Norway, Reinebringen, is located in the municipality of Moskenes, in the southern parts of Lofoten. The Reinebringen hike:Duration: approx 1-2 hours.Altitude: 448 metres above sea level.Season: May - September.Difficulty: Medium.Incline: ca 45 degrees.Distance: 2 km (round trip).Starting point: Reine outer harbor.Tour descriptionAs always, hiking in Lofoten is at your own risk, so make sure you follow the path. Even if the path towards the top follows the Sherpa steps, it is very steep and parts of it can be demanding. You follow the stairs built into the steep mountain side and if you need a break, there are several nice spots with benches built along the path. The stairs finish ca 150 metres before the top, so make sure you walk very carefully and watch out for loose rocks. If a rock comes loose, it may roll down the mountain side and cause injury to other people further down. The hike is not recommended for young children and for safety reasons, this hike is strictly not recommended in the winter season.Reinebringen is far from one of the highest mountains in Lofoten, but the view from the top of Reinebringen is known for being one of the most spectacular ones. It is a favourite among many hikers and you will soon understand why when you reach the top. Sit down and enjoy the great view over the picturesque Reine village and the wild fjords and mountains. We also recommend the hike during the midnight sun season in Lofoten, as it is maybe even more beautiful at that time. And not least, there may be less people in the evening. The hike is extremely popular among locals and tourists alike. It is very important to wear sturdy shoes, take plenty of water to drink and a wind proof jacket. An extra set of dry clothes is also recommended. Do not forget a fully charged battery, so you can bring your memories with you back home. Remember to enjoy the moment! The mountain can be closed in order to complete the work on the steps. It is therefore a good idea to visit the Reinebringen Facebook page for updated information, or visit the local tourist information. As of January 2021, the path had 1566 steps and several benches along the beautifully built Sherpa stairs.ParkingIf you decide to travel to see Reinebringen and arrive by car – you will find the parking at Reine Ytre Havn (outer harbour). This is where the hike starts. You first walk through the centre of beautiful Reine towards Reinehalsen (viewpoint by the main roadand then walk further along the E10 direction Å. Follow the old road on the outside of the tunnel on the left of the road fence. If you arrive by bus, the nearest bus stop is «Reine kryss» (Moskenes).

Little steep hike, but has stairs almost all the way up. Short climb after the stairs. While climbing, you get incredible view of Atlantic Ocean. It is located in the Lofoten Islands, far up North in Norway. This idyllic hike is one of the most popular treks in the area, offering views over Reine, Sakrisøy, and Hamnøy fishing villages down below. The hike is only 3 km in distance but will take around 3 hours to complete. It is a strenuous hike so be sure to wear the correct footwear!

I did this in May, amazing view and cool hike. But about 200m from the top there was a lot of ice and snow still covering the stairs and not possible to go around, i risk it to still go up alone, but on descent i really got scared as i start to slide through the mountain. Please dont do this hike if you reach a point with ice, too steep and risky. Do it in the summer.

Demanding hike! It took me over 1h 30 minutes to get up. There are lots of steps (1671,they are numbered, and it is very steep, you feel like your moving vertically up the hill. So if youre not in good condition, I cant recommend this hike. On top the views are rewarding though.

1600 something stone steps plus 50 m of rough terrain ascent will bring you to the spectacular view of Reine, Hamnøy, the Reinevågen and Reinefjord. The ascent is steep but steady: a 30-40 years old person with no training can do it with no problem in less than 2 hours. It will be challenging for a 70 years old and I would advise for only trained elderly people to try the path.Be prepared for rain showers, which will give you spectacular rainbows if you are lucky enough as we were.

Fantastic view point over Reine, especially on a sunny day. Free parking just over the road bridge 30 mins walk away or park in the town. There are 1600 stone steps to climb and it goes up about 500 metres so it gets a bit cold with the strong wind up there so take warm clothes gloves and hat and water and a snack. The views in all direction are amazing well worth the climb.

One of the most impressive views I had the chance to see in Lofoten - and in my trips overall. Trail has been remade by Sherpas in July 2019, so what was becoming a muddy and slippery trail because a range of - lots of - stairs, except the last part a little bit steeper. Count 40-60min going up. Anyways unless you have an excuse to skip it, it is probably an unmissable if you are around.

Beautiful views, hike is not long, but can be difficult at some points. The trail head is next to the tunnel, that goes through the mountain. You just go up a small sandy road and find the place where the stairs start. It took us 40 minutes to climb to the top.
