Regatta Point Tavern - Hotel in Queenstown, Australia
Host was very blunt and direct. Only given 1 table option when the pub was almost empty. Told not to stand in line for service untill it was empty and that there was only a limited menu. It was very basic pub fare.
Pub grub but good.
Rang and licensee said she would hold a table for 7 of us at 6pm so we could sit togethor. We turn up 2 days later and she claims no memory of the conversation and says people always try to fool her like this?? My wife was there when I had the original phone call and heard it all. We left, completely turned off by her attitude.
Was desperate with young family for dinner on holidays, they fit us in and put a rush on our dinner, so grateful for their hospitality.
Great establishment. Typical country pub meals. Yum. Great value. Fabulous service. Told them we were celebrating a birthday and lol and behold a pavlova turns up at the end of the meal. Vicki was a pure delight. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a lovely walk here from the town centre, and that’s about the extent of the good experience… zero ambiance, no music, dead silence, only 3 beers on tap and the food was very very average… not worth it. Staff were friendly though.
BIG shout out to the Regatta Point Tavern Bistro. They went above and beyond for us and many others that were left without food after all other venues in Strahan had closed or were booked out. They continued to cook meals well after closing time just so we could get a meal. And a beautiful meal too. Massive thank you to the owners and all the staff. That is how you look after tourists.❤️
This review is for the tavern only, good meals and friendly service, wait times for meals is a little slow but bar and service staff are very nice. If youre seeking tavern style meals and friendly service this place is worth a try.
Very nice meal and outlook. Well priced. Seemed a bit unprofessional.
Good honest pub meal, with staff going out of their way to help. Will keep going back.
a very comfortable place to stay, close to strahan wharf. vicki was very friendly and accommodating.
Went for dinner and had their signature Seaford Fettuccine. What a disappointment, no salmon or Scallops as advertised and the sauce was tasteless. The one bonus was that the staff were friendly.
Amazing service from the Pub Staff, perfect spot for a no fuss pub meal! I would highly recommend the steak and pepper sauce, absolutely delicious with a great view of the harbour.
Our meals were nice but the oysters were amazing! Vicki was a lovely host, so friendly & helpful.
Waited an hour and 20 minutes between ordering and receiving food, and it seems to be a theme here. The steak I ordered was also complete charcoal. The staff were very lovely, but that’s the only nice thing about the experience
Great place to stay, the owner is really kind and helpful.Highly recommended
Looks a bit shabby from outside but our room was spacious and well appointed with all we needed. View across the bay was beautiful.
Best fillet steak in Tasmania! Staff were great, can’t beat the water front view and location for a nice dinner.
Food was very ordinary. Roast dinner was 1 slice of lamb and steamed vegetables. Nothing roasted except maybe the meat.
Booked a 2 bedroom villa for 3 people. It was like going back to the 70s! Very dated and worn. The heater was running all night but it was still cold in the morning. Needs a revamp badly.Had a meal at the tavern and that was very ordinary as well.Wouldn’t recommend to anybody.
Came here for dinner based on our hosts recommendation and the experience was pretty terrible. Took us like 20 minutes to order, there was a lot of chatting at the counter. Once we ordered, we waited for nearly 40 minutes for our food. This is a pub, such waiting time is unacceptable!!! I was willing to forgive this if the food was ok, but the pasta I ordered was bland and unpalatable. Such a waste of good produce. Definitely do not recommend!!!
We had a great feed at the Regatta. Proper pub food. Staff were very friendly and meals are just like Mum used to make. Much needed after 7 days on the road!
Not a venue that I would recommend for a great meal.We scored each of our meals 5 out of 10. Staff attitude there was only one waitress that I would recommend, unfortunately I dont know her name. There was also a waitress that none of us could understand what she was saying.Think I have said enough.
Friendly place, cold beer, great meals with excellent pricing. Favorite with locals so you know its good. Good pool table, pokies in separate area, juke box. Great view from dining area, good parking. Recommended
This is the pub where the locals go. Stopped past a couple of times for drinks, warm and friendly. I much preferred the rustic atmosphere here to the sterilised ‘touristy’ vibes of other venues in town.
Very friendly staff. Very clean in the restaurant. Meals were rather basic in design but delicious. Priced very well. Highly recommended when visiting Strahan.
Good pub meal, steak well cooked always a good bench mark
Had dinner there tonight, it was really good, hubby had the Angus steak with eggs & chips he said it was the best steak hes had in a long time, I had saté chicken that was good too 👍
Not a good location if on Motorbikes. We asked when booking if there was decent parking and told yes. On arrival we found there wasnt and had to park over near the pub. Woke up next morning to find one of our bikes quite damaged. Wouldnt stay there again.
pretty disappointed in the customer service the lady had one look at me and walked away to serve someone else who I was infront off! Pasta was shredded into small bits, calamari wasn’t real calamari was cut offs of fish but was advertised as calamari, prawns had no flavour! Was very disappointed with the whole night overall.
Kitschy but clean and tidy, reasonably priced accommodation and meals. The North West Wilderness Train station is in the front yard. Great staff as well.
We went there on a Saturday night after the West Coast train ride. Service extremely slow. We waited an hour fifteen for food but food was good pub food at reasonable price. Waited a long time to get served for drinks as well. Need more bar staff.
Good meal pub style, simple and relaxed not spending a fortune like some others. Staff very good
Food is standard pub fare that tastes great and isnt too expensive. Its obviously where the locals go. The ambience isnt wonderful but if youre after a good meal and dont care about that, its an excellent choice.
Not bad food and certainly cheaper than other dinner options, but probably wouldn’t come here again for full meal. Salt and pepper squid was a tiny serve for $17 and then to charge $3 for mushroom sauce ontop of $28 for a steak is a little steep.Nice clean venue and lovely pub staff. Not upset but wouldnt be a return customer.
Dont bother! Disappointing meal, frozen chips and snitzel. Vegetables that were served separately with white sauce that was fridge cold.
Went to the regatta last night for tea on locals recommendation DONT WASTE your money $73:00 for two of us and the food as awful.Had garlic prawns and curry scallops we could not finish the food. Table of 8 sitting next to us where complaing to each other (how terrible the food was10 people very unhappy with the food
Meal...not so good.Tail end of the Ocean Trout, not the good fillet... overcookedNo choice tonight of vegetables...only chips & salad. $27. WAY OVERPRICED in my opinion for what we got.Very disappointing.Bottle shop choices were fairly decent so we bought a couple of bottles of good Reds to take with us.
Lovely meal reasonably priced, good outlook,
Value for money accommodation. One of the cheapest place I stayed at in Tasmania and had more than others. The room (more like a unitI stayed in had beds for 6 people, private kitchen, private bathroom, private toilet and private living room. The kitchen had its own big fridge, kettle, utensils, cutlery, toaster, steamer, microwave and other basics. The bathroom was clean and wasnt too outdated. Sure, the wallpaper and structure can seem outdated but still wasnt falling apart. One down side was the brick in one of the rooms. It can feel a bit cold if youre the only one sleeping in that room. But should be okay if more than 1 was in the room. Oh! They also have hangers and wardrobes. Checking out was easy too. Will definitely come again due to how much is given despite cheaper price. Oh, they also have a tv with great connection ~
Great little tavern friendly staff great meals top seafood
This is the best priced eatery in Strahan. The other eateries are very overpriced. The servings are very generous and the food delicious. I would definitely eat there again. A special shout out to the lovely lady who took our orders. Very polite and helpful.
Worst meal Ive ever had. Definitely not recommended
Clean and comfortable, the hotel has large units with everything you could possibly need. We stayed in a two bedroom unit that slept six, had two couches, a large tv and dvd player, air conditioning, plenty of towels and toiletries, and a fully equipped kitchen with a kettle, toaster, microwave, stove, oven and large fridge. Picnic tables out the front overlook the water and are a great spot for a home cooked or take away meal. A booklet/folder/compendium about the hotel and the town would be nice.
Lovely stroll from town centre, friendly staff and yummy fresh seafood. Visitors should definitely give this establishment a try when visiting Strahan. Grab a table by the window and enjoy the views too... 😊👍
Good Value. Handy location if taking the West Coast Wilderness Railway. Comfortable and clean rooms. Heating in room and bathroom.
A good feed. Chicken Neptune was nice but needed a bit more flavour. The wifes roast pork was very tasty. Good service
A very casual pub, very dated with some sort of gambling operation attached. But we did very much enjoy our garlic prawns even if they were made with a stick of butter and jar garlic (they were actually delicious). This is a place for locals, but if youre here awhile and have been to some of the other eateries, this is worth a visit.
Very nice place, close to bay and next to heritage railway station. Well equipped cabins. Good service. Tavern serves decent meals.
Dont let initial reactions throw u. Luvly spacious and clean rooms. Great value pub meals at the tavern. Friendly staff
