Reed Beds Bird Hide, Murray Valley National Park - Bird watching area in Deniliquin, Australia
Clean facilities and a beautiful place.
Pleasant well maintained walkway. Out to bird hide. Lots of information to read.
Well set up. Worth the visit
Saw lots of birds including an Azure Kingfisher.
Great place to view birds, clean toilet. The spinning info discs dont work though.
Dont bother driving here.No birds, at least no birds you wont see where youre driving from. What youll get though is a lot of mosquitoes and their respective bites.Stay clear.
Would be better when more water is around and spinning photos were working.
Easy to walk to and good view of wetlands.
Definitely one of the best birds hides I have ever been toIt’s 2 story and there’s a nice boardwalk that leads to it
Beautiful spot to listen and watch nature. Super peaceful. Went when it was overcast so itd be even better when sunny
A beautiful bird hide that casts its eerie swampy magic everytime I go. Always a different bird to spot.
Best to visit during spring or autumn as there is a wider range of birds present
Could not get the bird sounds working but great place to look at nature.
Nice and quiet to unwind, great bird watching
Beautiful, even on a cold, wet day.
Beautiful informative place, with great facilities for keen bird watchers
so quet, so respectful of nature, love it!
So quite, just birds sound, you can stay here for hours, enjoy and relax.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Toilets and a bird hide, reached via a good short boardwalk. Ducks, swans and cormorants, and several birds of prey. Parrots and other birds in the bush land.
One of the best bird hides Ive seen. Looking out over the reed beds. Lots of tiny bird life.
Well worth the visit. Beautiful views from the hide and interactive displays for the kids.
The Reed Beds Bird Hide has a good turning circle and car parking area, clean toilets, a boardwalk with plaques showing different birds and explanations about those birds. Theres also speakers on every plaque and when you spin the dozen or so plaques, you hear that particular birds song through the speakers at the bottom - see photos. The Bird Hide was very good and would have cost loads to build but I thought the plaques with the songs of the birds being played for you to hear was very good too. We totally enjoyed our time here. Its only 5 kms out of Mathoura, NSW.
Bit dry when I got there in March 2019. More birds on the walk in.
This place is a little off the Cobb Hwy so many people dont realise its there! Worth a visit though or a nice place to stretch the legs when travelling through.Boardwalk has cute info boards about the different bird species that live in the sanctuary, also make the bird sounds when spun. Boardwalk leads to viewing areas that look over the wetlands.
Lovely little birding watching area. Short walk and a good hide. Would good back again
great set up but unfortunately when we went the water was down so not much birdlife still worth a look
Well laid out well worth seeing
Beautiful spot, high vantage point over the reed beds. Effective shielding between approach pathways and hide to minimise disturbing wildlife as people come and go. That said I did go In winter, in 3 hours driving, walking and exploring the area I encountered maybe 2 other vehicles, none stopped and perhaps 15 emu who are quite inquisitive and just a touch strange, in a kind of skittish and very big with pointy toes kind of way..
Love this spot. A great two storey wooden structure with hidden sides to view the wetlands without spooking the birds. Plenty of spots to set up a camera and tripod easily - and there are bench seats and a roof for shelter. Two touches I loved are the little signs on the walkway in giving a brief, fun introduction to the birds you (maysee - and their call is played when you spin the sign! The other is the "bird Facebook" - a really clever set of Facebook posts written from each birds perspective. Amusing and informative.Sealed carpark and clean toilets are a nice touch. Wooden ramp all the way to the hide so it is disability and pram friendly.Well worth it!
Loved seeing all the different types birds and the landscaping of the wetlands is a beautiiful view from the lookout the visitors r going to love the cultural tours along the board walk with lots to read from XoPARKS NSW MOAMA 2731
Great please to visit
Hidden little area, very peaceful. Good toilets and rest area.
