Redwood Tea House - Restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Iโm basing this on the fact that we are here for the view. We did not come here expecting to be blown away by the food. But it was actually decent. We liked the tea infused fried rice. A bit oily but acceptable.
All the food that we ordered was delicious. The staff super attentive and the views breathtaking.
Very nice place and great view!
This place serves slow, expensive, ok food. Its looks are overrated and drinks are too expensive. As a tourist site this is what to be expected but wow.I will never suggest anyone to go near here, as they will have an experience just as unpleasant as mine.
Nice and cozy restaurant, and there are some non-coffin drink (not tea for kid.Price overall little bit higher. But no time limit. Recommend for family if have kids.
Amazing experience at this restaurant. First watched the sunset with a cup of tea, then had a superb vegetarian dinner. Hike, eat, and enjoy the view on Maokong!
Went in for a meal and tea. Was served a large waffle that was unfortunately quite dry with about 1/3 of a smashed banana. Asked for more banana to help with the dryness, was told "Its not possible". Even the staff looked pitiful telling me the managers answer.
Nice place to Taipei City viewNice staff ,Good serviceBt the meal was for general taste!Iโm so picky ๐๐๐๐๐Oh the fried ๐ Very ๐
Nice tea. Nice view. Pretty traditional.
Nice tea options and fresh food with a great view!
The food is tasty๐and the view is awesome!!! Worth to try
Excellent sunset views, close to gondola station, convenient. Great place to wind down and recharge with the clean mountain air.
Too pricey but beautiful interior! We opted the teahouse in the 2nd floor right beside this place.
Every dish was on point. The drinks were craftfully made. The food was not heavy at all, even the fried items (the fried shrimp is one of a kind, must try!l. I love the balance of local ingredients and flavors. A+!
The food and the environment were just at the top like the mountains
The food was delicious, with options of Chinese cuisine, sandwiches, and sweets. The vegetarian eggplant and green beans was delicious! They also have a nice selection of teas. The staff is friendly, and speak Chinese, English and Russian. The views are fantastic.
Excellent food, simply prepared with fresh and local produce. Good vegetarian options. Beautiful view from a breezy downstairs patio, which was comfortable despite scorching afternoon sun. Upstairs, an indoor a/c space also looks good. Great place to bring visitors to Taipei! Not really cheap but also not unreasonable prices for Maokong area. Go on a weekday if at all possible.
Nice air-conditioned place to eat. Dishes are very nice but expensive. Mosquitos were present, which diminished what potentially is a romantic experience to be had.
Nice Tea house really relaxing with great tea and Taiwanese cuisines. A bit high end prices compare to local price. Must visit.
Very nice ambience, decent food and very friendly service! We sat here since lunch til almost dinner time and they didnt rush us away. Nice place to rest and relax. Highly recommended!
The food is nice but the price is a bit too expensive. Three meals, two bowls of rice and a cup of tea cost more than one thousand.
Nice view, food is great. Not the cheapest teahouse but worth it.
ordered 2 coffee and its relatively expensive,150 twd each. The coffee is worth the price, rose coffee smells and have the taste of rose in it which is quite good. Great view and quite quiet. Highly recommended
Great service, very clean and beautiful tea from the local area. The view on a day with good weather would be awesome and you could see Taipei 101. Its a 10 minute walk from the gondola and easy access. If driving, plan ahead as parking is a pain.
Lovely little teahouse with a great view. The drunken chicken is a standout, but all of the dishes were good.
Tourist trap. $15 chicken soup is crazy!! A bowl of chicken soup with barely anything else in it wouldnt even cost that much at the four seasons.
The scenery is so awesome... The staff helpful and kind. The food is not cheap as per Taiwanese standards, but still affordable, and everything I could taste was incredibly good. I would definitely recommend it. Having your meal in the mountains, looking at Taipei 101 is priceless.
There are 3 window seats here, be early for a good view of the city. Went on a sunny morning in november and was pretty warm, but the occasional wind keeps you from sweating. Food is decent, they serve vegetables grown in the area. Great dessert options too. Price is slightly on the expensive side. Recommend the Jin Xuan tea.
Redwood is in the front right corner of the Mountain teahouse and its just beautiful
The view is really good about food not much vegetarian variety (close to zerodrinks are sexy ;)
Attention! Tourist trap! We went downstairs and i wanted to have an iced cappuccino (they have it on their menubut I should wait 1h for it because they get it upstairs, hot cappuccino can be delivered instant. Hot water 100NTD pP, cheapest tea 300NTD and 10% service charge for a bad service (they dont come to you to pick up the order)
Neatest cafe on the Hill. Fine wood furnitures with valley view overlooking Taipei. Mango milk tea and blueberry milk pudding very enjoyable, costs NT240 including service.
Poor service and limited option. Was forced to use cash even though the store had credit card machine. Possibly tax evading, local government should investigate into this store.
The food was great, a bit pricey, but worth it.
Nice staff! Went here for late tea and dessert after dinner. Ordered waffles and hot milk tea. Its a bit pricy compared to other places. Sat in the back by the window that has a view of the mountainside and Taipei 101 in the distance. I imagine the view is beautiful during the day.
One of the best coffees in Taipei, ine ofnthe best views of the city and some very tasty desserts. Highly recommend!
Bit pricey and our tea took a little while to come out . Nice view though
Great Ambience, delicious food and beautiful view of Taipei 101. Highly recommended
A little pricey, but the quality of tea and food is good. You certainly cant beat sitting next to a boiling pot of water, sipping tea in front of the view!Ask the server for a free tea-making lesson. It makes the experience!
Scenic, great spot to rest with decent food, a bit pricey
Good vie, good food and tea, but the service a bit noisy (talky crackling, loud speeking...)
Terrific food and a view. Recommend the middle back porch for shaded outside seating. Stay helps you with the proper care for the tea. Lovely views of the valley, temples, and Taipei 101 amid the mountains.
Nice place to sit down and grab a cup of tea and enjoy some food or dessert options. Can be busy like most other places in Maokong on a weekend but weekdays are quiet and you can take your time.
The staff is very friendly and the view is great. However the food is not worth the price!
Good afternoon tea set with sandwich and desserts.Great service.
The view is really to die for here - beautiful mountainous tops and dreamy fog-mist. Imagine the cold breeze blowing by as you enjoy a sip of a hot tea.The only problem is that you need to take a 40minute cable car here and its quite a walk from the station.
Good environment but a bit expensive
Great view of Taipei from windows, nice afternoon tea.
Despite of the expensive tea, there is a really leisure atmosphere
Good smoothie, the terrace downstairs was very scenic and relaxing.
