Red Rose Restaurant - Cambodian restaurant in Dracut, United States
I really enjoy going to eat here. Not only their food is good, their waitresses and waiters are so kind and polite too. Especially the older lady there that is the waitress, I simply go there a lot even though there are so many other Khmer restaurants to choose from because of her kindness. One of the experiences that I had there with her I will never forget. I had recently got out of surgery at the time and was so uncomfortable to even sit comfortably to eat, she saw how distress I was and when my husband got up to go pay she came and helped me packed everything and not only that she even helped lifted me up from my seat because it was just that much painful for me to get up on my own and even with covid percentage was at an all time high she still helped me. My husband and I thanked her and went about our way. However that act of kindness and how she greets us every time after that I will always remember from the bottom of my heart because you just don’t see kindness like that often anymore and it’s people like her that makes a difference in this world.
Always calculate your own bills. They always charge you extra for something you dont even order not once but twice. This is my favorite restaurant always go there for breakfast and lunch. How the bill always come surprise like cost more than expected than one time I decided to go to counter and ask for price for each dish the owner reply with attitude and say “there is calculator if you can’t do math” guess what he charge me something that I don’t even order. That is ok but I want to know so I come again and yes the thing happened get charge for drink I didn’t order or receive. So yes you check your own bill don’t trust the owner.
Underestimate place. Been here for years and the quality always up there! Love this place so much because of the nice staff and good food
Good food. This picture does not match.
Been going here since I was younger and it still tastes the same despite changing ownership. The food is delicious and the waitstaff is very friendly! Portions were filling (:
Very warm in there and the ceiling fan was broken, fried rice was okay.
Very tasty, with a nice selection of condiments and dipping sauce to complement the main. First timers with lak lok and lort cha, they didnt disappoint. Good ambassadors for Cambodian dishes.
It’s very expensive for this place, pork ribs fried rice $18 and chicken fried rice for $17. For other restaurants, probably only cost you $12-14 . Mango smoothie is $8…. And the chicken tastes strange…. Don’t waste your money and time being here.
Great place to go. The food was delicious, the staff was really helpful and friendly, and I was very happy to see a vegetarian section of the menu with a lot of choices.
Really good. Lots of flavor!!
One of the few places that open at 8am for breakfast in Lowell. I often meet my friends early for Phnom Penh noodle soup here! Totally hit the spot.
The best Cambodian restaurant. Hands down. They have everything. Everything I have tried was really good. Highly recommended. If you have e never tried Cambodian food. You should try it with them.
Chicken loc lak on white rice is the best here in Lowell hands down. Any of their soups are also good here but nothing special. Just like any other Cambodian restaurant
The worst customer service I had ever experienced. Expensive and portions are small. I would not recommend this place.
Nice spot for PHO .
Nice pho. Good service. Good prices
They don’t even have any price listed and they will charge you whatever price they want if you never ask how much is each item. Shady at best. Not to mention the food is just mediocre.
Lets just start by saying the pricing on the menu is not what youll be paying. This was brought to their attention, and their excuse was "Oh, its an old menu." Really??? After reading the reviews on here, its nothing new! This has been an issue for years! You should very well change your menu then!Their dishes and sauces have pork in it. They do not mention that on their menu or in person. The attitude of the waitress or the owner is one of the worst that Ive encountered. She was rude, condescending and argumentative beyond measure. She was completely unprofessional, distasteful, uncouth, repulsive, and vile. Surely she needs retraining on how to treat people. We informed them that the sauce does not state that it has pork in it. We asked them to remake it because this was not clearly stated. Her response was "Thats how they do it everywhere. If you want it, Im going to charge you!” No, Ive eaten this dish my whole entire life, and Ive even had Thai and Laos. This sauce does not call for extra meat except the soy beans and ginger. Then we told them to update their menu and with the correct prices because this is actually FRAUD. If I knew that, I wouldnt even step in their establishment. If you dont buy the rice separately with your dish, you wont be getting any.We tried to support our fellow Cambodians, but after this, well just stick to places that treats us decently, and to those who are educated. That was the first and last time there. Dont recommend anyone going there either. You may get your mood and appetite ruined. If I could, I would give negative stars. Overall, poor experience.
The food is ok from what I had and there are a lot of dishes to choose from. I didnt like that we had to scan a code to see the menus and there were no detailed descriptions of the food. Unless youre familiar with a dish, youre ordering without really knowing what youre getting. Example is my friend ordered a fish dish. The fish arrives with pork, but the menu description does not indicate the dish had pork in it. So it was a rough situation for a while trying to have to food sent back to reorder something without meat to accommodate her dietary restrictions. If the menu listed everything the item had in it this could have been avoided. The Waitress was also argumentative and slightly condescending about it as well so what couldve been an easy fix was not. Food took quite a while to arrive and the staff had to be flagged down for checkout.I would go back but only if someone really wanted to go and I wouldnt have any expectations. Nothing bad, nothing good. Just meh. But there were a lot of customers in the place, so Im sure many others love the food and service.
The old saying, if the place is always busy with the locals, its good, applies to Red Rose. This place is always hopping, especially on weekends. With my limited knowledge of the menu, and not being Cambodian, I relied on my partner to help me navigate. I love the Loc Lac, hope I spelled that correctly, and the beef noodle soup, which I wouldnt even attempt to spell, are my favorites. The soup allows me to use my chopstick talents. The staff is friendly and attentive, reasonable prices, and yes, if chopsticks are not your thing, there is silverware. Enjoy Red Rose!
Cambodian cuisine at its best. There are various food options, all of which are delicious. I dont think there is a better spot in the world for rice noodle soup, not even in Southeast Asia. The team is polite and easy to connect with.
Amazing authentic Cambodian food. The beef stew is a fantastic mix of fresh ingredients with soft slow cooked beef. The beef salad and the fried shrimps are also very tasty.
Fresh, tasty and delicious!
This place has delicious authentic Cambodian food. Very flavorful and fresh ingredients go into their soups and plates.
Everything we ordered was delicious! Sweet and sour beef stew, fresh spring rolls, fried pork chop with rice and stir fried flat noodles!
This place makes the best and healthiest spring rollsEspecially if your looking for tofu spring rolls but good luck on who you ask for them it’s like being in the TWIGHLIGH ZONE you might get awe no make that here 👀 TO THE OWNER PLEASE GET YOUR STAFF STRAIGHT I GONE EVERY WHERE IN LOWELL AND YOU REALLY DO MAKE THE BEST TOFU SPRING ROLLS WHEN ITS NOT A HIT OR MISS!
It was never my go to restaurants when Im in Lowell..probably my first visit back in 10 yrs or so decided to go after my brother ordered take out from them and it was delicious...the atmosphere/decor stink but I ordered the lemongrass quail and salt/pepper calamari. It didnt disappoint! Lemongrass quail hit the spot..spicy!!
Awesome food. First time eating Cambodian cuisine and the Red Rose is the place to try. Pictures are the Coconut Chicken soup and Stir Fried Beef and Lotta Noodle.
Late review but well overdue! The food was excellent, big portions and the service was great.
Best version of meekatang in the area. The ingredients are a notch up from the competition. Their service is fast and efficient. The soup stock is really tasty and hits the spot. The fried rice with chinese sausage is addicting. Its a bit cold in the winter in the front part of the restaurant but its ok in the back. I wish they freshly fry the fried dough. Overall, a good comfort food place.
Authentic Cambodian foods. Many choices of food and they are all delicious. The best rice noodle soup in the world, i dont think there is any better place even in south east asia. The staffs are nice and easy to communicate to.
Amazing food amazing staffOnly thing that I disliked about this restaurant was the room temperature it was definitely chilly
I had lunch here . The authentic Cambodia food in Lowell Ma. I ordered mango salad with shrimp. It’s wonderful I like it and dry noodles was delicious. Parking lot in front of the restaurant.
So good! My bf and I moved to Lowell a year ago and one of our goals was to try most of the Asian restaurants. We wanted to try this place on a Saturday but it was packed. So we went on a Thursday around lunch and the place was picking up fast. Anyway, I had ordered the fried pork chops with fried rice and the BF got me ka thung (chow foon?), both food was well seasoned and delicious! This place have great Cambodian food (:
they are more Americanized out of the bunch. We arrived shortly after 1pm, with plenty of seating available. Parking was also a breeze. Believe me, the lot can be a nightmare, as its shared with other businesses in the plaza. The booths, I must mention, quite compact. Although a party of 2 can be seated comfortably, parties of 4 who are robust in size may want to choose the table option...
This is my go-to Cambodian restaurant besides Simply Khmer. It is a casual restaurant with a little outdated interior decor but I dont mind as the food is very good. Fried rice with beef lok lak is considered their signature dish. Chicken lok lak is also very tasty. I also like seafood Mee ka thung, stir-fried rice noodle. Fried chicken wings is super crispy and yummy. Parking can be challenging though sometimes.
Great place to get noodle soup in Lowell!
Great choice for authentic Cambodian cuisine. If you want standard "Chinese food", youre not going to find it here. This is fresh prepared, delicious Cambodian food, specializing in incredible Soups, and specialty items you will be familiar with, but at a better standard than other restaurants you may pass. Incredibly tough parking is definitely not a plus, and its quite crowded during lunch, because its that popular. Menus are not in English, but have pictures, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are no "Combo plates", so you will be ordering a few menu items, so best to go with a friend or two. Portions are good, and the prices are fair
I went in today for lunch, I ordered fried rice with fried pork chop.it comes with ox tail soup, pickle vegetable on the side. fried eggs is extra. It was good the flavor is there. one of the dish i recommend.
The food is plain and overprice. Sat us down on a table so close to the cash register. Every time they had to do something I have to move my seat back-and-forth. Could not enjoy my food. The waiter annoying our table. And the girl behind the cash register was so rude Expressione the owner. Will never take my friends or family there ever again.
Great place food is Amazing!
I wanted to like this place - honest. But I agree with some reviews below - food okay and customer service and general level of friendliness is ‘meh’ at best. Better places to get your Khmer food a few blocks away.
The food was excellent. I went here at the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed by the food. The entire party I went with all enjoyed their meal and that includes the children. We were all pleasantly surprised with how the good the food was, and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Lowell and interested in Cambodian cuisine.
Still one of my favorite restaurants to go to for authentic Khmer food. Since it was cold out I ordered chicken soup with noodles and my friend ordered the birds next with fried noodles and vegetables. Everything comes out quick and fresh! If it’s your first time, order beef lok lak (shaken fried beefwith the special fried rice with Chinese sausage. You won’t be sorry!
Red Rose has been around for a very long time. To my memory at least 20 years . The menu is mostly Cambodian food with a couple of Chinese and Thai Dishes thrown in. Oddly enough there is crab rangoon on the menu. An odd Choice for a basically straight up Cambodian place. The service is friendly but a little uneven. The food is very well prepared. The Loc Lak is arguably the best in Lowell. Some other highlights are the cha kroung, the fried squid, the MI Katang. The fresh rolls are not my favorite but they are good and the size of a small burrito. The fixtures are so outdated that it is quaint. I come here when I want to change up from my usual haunts. Like Simply Khmer. The menu is difficult to understand if youre not very familiar with Cambodian food but they do have a second menu with pictures of everything that may help if you feel a little lost. All in all I like this place. I eat here about five times a year.
Very bad experience with this place. They rip us off by charging us different price from the menu. And their excuse was "its an old menu" it doesnt matter how old or new the menu is you suppose to charge us the price on the menu, not $17 over the menu price. And their food was horrible, the beef stick was hard as rock (not chewy but hardand the beef salad that they tried to charge $28 not $12 as listed on the menu(lmaowas so freaking sour without any other flavor. SMH
Fried squid not that great but everything else is pretty good. Try the noodles soup and rice soup.
Food is delicious. The workers very nice
I have been going here for years not realizing they charge white rice pp. They over charged for all their entrees without rice, unless you order rice combo plate. They are cheap with their fish soup, $15...gave us 2 pieces in the soup. Charged us $14 for a bowl of rice. Complained to the waitress...she didnt do anything. Went up to the owner and asked him to explain to me why my bill is $119 for 6 adults & a baby. Four entrees and bubble tea. Their writing is in Khmer, and the #s were scratchy. Asked him to explain...he was rude with a smirk. A waitress had to review it with me. I was disappointed with the fish soup, but I was pissed off that they charged me $14 for a bowl of white rice! Never knew that they charge $2 pp, including the baby. Most restaurant will charge $5- 7 for a bowl of rice, which is reasonable, not $14!. So if we were to ask for another bowl of rice...it would have been $24! We almost did because they didnt give us enough rice. Good thing we didnt ask for more rice. This is absurd &ridiculous. Also, the menu has no price on them! I will never go back there again because the owner was rude and the price for white rice is absurd! Rip off.
Im new to the Cambodian taste , a friend put me on to the Rice noodle soup(beefand once that first try i come here on the regular. On rainy days especially . I still have to figure out what other options are on the menu and theres plenty. Overall great people , authentic foods !
