Red Mountain Estate Vineyards & Winery in Taunggyi
Description
Amazing view with fantastic service.Wine tasting session was interesting that we ended up buying three bottles haha. The dishes are amazingly reasonable priced and huge potion. As always, Shan people are super polite and honest. Very satisfied about the waiter who served our table.
MoreA glass of wine and Inly lake view
Nice place to enjoy sunset
I really like this place. Very relaxing with Good drink, food and most importantly very good views.
MoreAlways get incredible pleasure, colour sunset, hygiene food.
Very good places to watch the sunset, good wine and tasty hamburger!
Beautiful scenery 🍷 ⛰, nice drinks and friendly staff. Loved the sleeping kitty as well 🐈 . Unfortunately spaghetti🍝 wasn’t good. Please STOP ✋ USING PLASTIC STRAWS 🌍 🌱 🙏
MoreMy husband and I biked here from our hotel. The biking through the countryside was lovely, and the grounds of the winery were very nice. We loved the wine tasting experience and considering that Myanmar isnt known for wine, I thought this experience was great.
MoreBest place to enjoy the sun-set time in Nyaung Shwe. Locally manufactured premium wine is a bonus.
MoreOur local tour guide brought us here to see the beautiful sunset.
Had a lovely Monday afternoon visit with my wife and some friends we made from our tour group. We did the tasting first, 5000Kyat for 4 wines to try each and then moved to the restaurant and sat outside. Food was good and it was a great view. The wine was fine and I’m not really a wine person!
MoreIm not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. This is a very scenic place with some decent wine.Going with minimum expectations will help your experience but definitely a must visit.
MoreGreat sunset views. The wine is not enjoyable and overpriced. $5 USD pp for a splash in 4 glasses
MoreAmazing view, strange-tasting wines however. I guess theres a reason Myanmar is not known for its wines. I reckon it might be the quality of water used in making wine (River water? I dont know), but the wines were just not very drinkable (had the tasting of 4 types for 5,000 kyatfor someone who loves wine. View was gorgeous however so Id still recommend to come here for the Instagram worthy scenary
More5 star for viewpoint and place1 star for wine.Subjective opinion: I tried 5 wines and only one (Late Harvest - white winewas drinkable, but still average which I want to buy home.
MoreIf you are prepared having an unfriendly service and drinking the most mediocre wine of the region, this is the right place for you!The view was nice though
MoreThe view was vast and the wine tastes delicious. It is a pity that for the sake of time, we cannot stay to see the sunset. A little of concern is that the flies are too much to be relaxed.
MoreRED MOUNTAIN VINEYARD, INLE LAKE perfectly perched on a hill overlooking Inle Lake, the Red Mountain Vineyard is still worth the effort for a short trip to this quaint place to enjoy a glass (or bottle!of locally made wine. We appreciate this is not something you would usually associate w a trip to Myanmar, but the cool climate & nutrient rich soil hv made this vineyard a commendable effort .. & able to create some unique varieties of its own brd of wine ...Founded in 2002, the winery employs French & Australian know-how .. cultivating its vineyard using French, Spanish & Israeli vines to produce some fine & varied vintages .. we sampled their 4 varieties, and found them to be pretty decent ..
MoreBest view for the Inle Lake!Nothing is as marvelous than enjoying wine with the panoramic view of the infamous Inle Lake in Nyaungshwe. Well, we didn’t get wine! As we didn’t want to get tipsy. Instead, we ordered food from their restaurant which was pretty much affordable. With the taste, it surely is quite affordable. I would go back again. Bring my family and my boyfriend. The whole place was astounding. You’ll have to ride a Tuktuk going there which would cost 12,000 kyat. The seats and tables were placed at a good view of the far-flung hills and mountains. The staff is highly commendable - very accommodating and very friendly.A must visit for a good relaxing afternoon.
MoreBeautiful views. Very nice food and nice wine too. Tip: instead of doing the tasting get a bottle of white Sauvignon and enjoy it outside!
Moreawesome viewpoint and good wine! You can try wine testing, then buy glass or bottle. We have lovely and memorable afternoon there. Enjoy sunset & whitewine. The restaurant will be closed around 6.30PM.
MoreCool place! I had a chance to taste 4 kinds of wine at 5,000kyats only. The place overlooks the vineyards, a very nice experience
MoreFive stars for the view and atmosphere. As for the wines, their whites were generally decent, while their reds I found to be pretty bad (Im usually a red drinker). But if you came to Myanmar to drink amazing wine, you might want to do a little research before your next vacation. The wines here (the whites at leastare respectable enough for an enjoyable afternoon, their tasting menu is 4 wines for a mere 5000 kyats, and if you still want to drink after the tasting glasses cost in the range of 3500 - 5000 kyats generally speaking. Buying bottles is actually not really any cheaper, so dont expect big discounts if you do that. Close enough to Nyaung-Shwe to ride a bike there, though with the views, you might stay long enough where the bike ride back could be a little dicey if you catch my drift
MoreWe had been looking forward to visiting Red Mountain Estate as a highlight of our trip. To get all the way there and find it was closed owing to Thingyan, their water festival was beyond disappointing. It would have been so easy for them to have this mentioned on the Google maps listing / their website / auto reply to incoming emails or an answer machine to advise incoming callers.
MoreThe view is good and the ambience is pretty nice, but I have to say the wine left a lot to be desired. The sauvignon blanc was pretty good, but all the other wines on the tasting selection were pretty bad. I couldnt finish most of them because the flavour just wasnt nice at all. Admittedly Im an amateur when it comes to wine, but my friend works in a wine shop and has a lot of experience in wine, and he also didnt like them.
More4* for the view and location2* for the food, pretty bad.1* for the wines, especially the reds are horrible!
MoreGlad we stopped here for wine tasting, tour of facility, lunch, and another wine tasting! Roma was a gracious host!
MoreFantastic place to watch sunset over Inle Lake with s glass of wine. The wine and the food are OK but nothing more than that. Worth a visit if you have some time.
MoreBeautiful sunset, okay-ish wine ,(impressive for Myanmar), but completely full of mosquitoes. Lots of stray dogs and cats there looking to be fed. But I didnt mind them and found them really cute.
More5000 per tasting. Nice view. Recomment. Vine is at best ok
Go for the sunset view but dont expect much else.Wine is poor. Red wine had a strong chemical taste. Rose was better.Glass of wine was expensive at 3,500 to 4,500 compared to restaurants in the area.View at sunset was excellent but thats pretty much it.
MoreWe had a very bad experiance in red mountain. You feel like you are very not welcome, no smile, no welcome... sad place.. We pick the pinot noir and it was very bad so dont go there for the wine...
MoreI dont think this was worth a visit. It seems like a hyped tourist attraction. The white wine was not any good and the view over the lake was not as good as you can get other places nearby. Dont think i would go again.
MorePerfect way to spend an afternoon! Cycle here from town, park your bikes and get ready for some wine tasting. Dont have high expectations (as one wine connoisseur told usbut I loved every drop, being such a bargain! If you time it right, sunset on the main balcony over a bottle of your choice would be the ideal ending. Enjoy!
MoreThis is a lovely place to spend an afternoon. We bought a tasting and were also treated to a tour of the grounds by one of the employees. The most unique wine was the dry muscat which was shockingly pleasing despite how it is produced by other winemakers. A must try. The best value is to buy a bottle of wine.
MoreFive stars for the view. However, this place is just for tourists... Rather expensive, you pay enormous 5000 kyat for 4 very tiny samples (and the wine is not good), and we didnt try the food since we read it is not good either. You will enjoy the views, but it is even better from some nearby restaurants.
MoreGreat place for sunset - excellent views of Inle Lake. The wine is forgettable (but still worth a wine tasting). While there seems to be plenty of seating this place looks to be popular with the tour groups and may fill up quickly.
MoreAfter reading that it the most popular place to watch the sunset in the area for tourists did we decided to get there on time and taste some wine. Well at 1 pm were we more then on time to try a few different bottles of wine what were all amazingly delicious. Something we did not expect from Myanmar. The food was also great, especially the green tomato salat is something to recommend. And ofcourse was the sunset nice too, not amazing but just nice and worth the wait.
MoreFive stars for the view and three for the wine. Tasting fee has recently gone up to a pretty steep 5,000 khat. Id recommend you buy a glass of Sauv Blanc or Shiraz Temp (the best of the white and redand drink it under the big tree. Great at sunset.
MoreI didnt try any food as I heard its not the best quality. Nice views, wine is decent considering that you are in Asia but dont expect anything extraordinary.
MoreCome for the views only but do not order food or drinks if you can... The wine and food are really mediocre and expensive. We came for lunch and ended up leaving half a bottle of wine and returning the food we ordered as it was uncooked. Someone recommended a place called bamboo hut nearby which was much better and with almost as good views so we went there
MoreI highly recommend this place for a fantastic and phenomenal view of the mountain landscape. BUT I also highly recommend if you dont mind awful tasting wines with mediocre food.Unfortunately you cannot have the best of both worlds.
Moregood for sunset (get there 2 hours before)wines are as others say, but still drinkable. and they employ alot of staff so its good from that side too.
MoreQuite disappointing on the four wines provided in the tasting. The best part was the panorama view up there.
More~30 minute bike ride out of Nyaungshwe, we went for the hyped sunset views with the novelty of having a Burmese wine. Most of the wines were so-so (the Sauvignon Blanc was pretty good IMObut the free peanuts with your wine really hit the spot. The sunset was as epic as advertised (which Im sure consuming wine also helps, loland we met a bunch of great people from all over the world also traveling the region and enjoying the views/wine, great vibes all around us. Definitely worth a trip to this winery for a sunset if you enjoy having a good time with good views!
MoreIt was amazing sunset I had ever seen. The view was beautiful and the wine was tasty. There were so many people to see the sunset. Better be there earlier.
MoreFantastic view. Wine was improved from last year. Nice cheese plate and quite good food
MoreAmazing sunset spot about 20-30 minutes bike ride from the edge of town. The much maligned wine is drinkable (the white wines are just a bit young but the reds are not too bad). You get a tasting plate of 4 wines for 10,000 kyat which I would recommend to try. On the way back just remember to ride back early if youre on a bike as there are no street lights on the road back to town
MoreGreat for the sunset view and seeing the red mountain (red due to the setting sun shining onto it). Wine is okay but wine lovers might find it to be too exotic tasting with strong flowery taste. If you cycle here, you have to park near the entrance and walk up the slope to the terrace. Better to get a private car instead of the tuk-tuk as it gets chilly once the sun sets and the road is dusty too. Take note there is minimal street lighting if you intend to cycle back after dark, so make sure your bicycle has lighting!
MoreNice winery with beautiful view. Wine tasting costs 5000 ks. Recommended to arrive by bicycle.
