Red Frog Beach Island Resort in Bocas del Toro

They don’t pay there employees and owe me over 100k in commission, even after working there 2 years at the resort.

Our stay at Selina Red Frog was great because of the lovely people that work there. Melanie and Emily, whom work at the front desk, are super friendly and were helpful with whatever questions we had. They also had great recommendations on things to do around Isla Bastimentos. Aldair and Richard were great bar tenders. The drinks were delicious and their service was friendly and welcoming. Aldair’s exercise class was fun and motivating too! In the end, for us, what made our stay awesome was the great staff working here. The facility is unique and located close to the beach, with the help of a small hike. It gives an eco-lodge vibe, which was different than what we were used to. The food was also tasty. Our compliments to the chefs!

Wonder for natural experience, I really recommend it. Beautiful beach and awesome jungle in the same place, the jungle lodge was beautiful!!! We are definitively coming back!!

Definitely one of my best vacations EVER in love with the personal starting from the lady from the reception and the guys from the transportation. The resort is very clean, the beach is beautiful. The village is private, you can feel the peace and fresh air .Highly recommended 🌺😍

Nice resort…location was close to Bocas Town just a 10 minute water taxi ride. Our 4 bedroom 4 bath private villa was very nice. One recommendation would be to rent a golf cart for your stay. This resort is a large property…walking was great during the day but it was nice to have a golf cart for the evening dinners. The restaurant at the main pool was good for breakfast and lunch. This is actually the only restaurant open on the property. That was a definite negative. We enjoyed dinners at the other two restaurants Selinas and Palmar which are just a short ride away. If you want action this is not the resort for you …this resort is quiet and there is not a lot going on. Didn’t seem to be many people staying at this resort when we were there. Beach was pretty but there was a lot of debris that needed to be cleaned up. The zip line was not running. If you have children they would be bored. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. There is a small market on the property which was a plus. We did stop at a larger market in Bocas Town to get snacks before coming to the property. While staying at Red Frog Resort we did day trips to Starfish beach, Bocas Town, and Monkey Island.

Do not go here if you have allergies. The waitress was completely rude and gave me an overpriced meal that contained dairy which I am very allergic to. Would never go back here. I want a refund for my $50 terrible meal.

We spent several days at one of the Red Frog villas. The place was very clean and had an outstanding ocean view but our private swimming pool still could be cleaner - it was full of leaves when we arrived and all the next days. Overall they provide very nice service, we could always contact someone and get a golf car ride in several minutes. Their club restaurant also provides very nice service but food there really sucks. Most time we went to the Palmar restaurant. We saw many sloth and the legendary red frog there. Tried the canopy tour that was really cool (highly recommend!). In general, we spent very nice time in this place and I would come here again.

Dont come here if you are vegan or gluten free. We paid for breakfast included, only option was fruit. Couldnt even repeat. Coffee? Burnt. Bad service. Good views though. The shop? Some spoiled vegetables, then only alcohol and unhealthy snacks. The cabin, full of insects and animals, from bats in the bathroom (4 bats to be specificto lizards and lots of insects upstairs. Ive lived in Costa Rica for more than two years. Its not full of insects cause its the jungle. I think I have said enough.

Beautiful quiet place. I stayed at the marina for 2 days, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good at the restaurant. The Shop was well stocked and had everything you would need.

Our family stopped there and bought day passes. Lounged by the pool and the beach, having drinks and a delicious lunch. They have very nice places to stay if you want to.

Red Frog is an amazing resort! The natural beauty, floral and fauna are breathtaking!!!

The best place I went to in Bocas. Very good food. Great relaxing. Only the bathroom facilities were not good. And quite some plastic trash on the beach. But much less than on other beaches.

Red Frog is one of my favorite places in Panama. The amenities are great and the beaches are perfect.

Our villa was great! Had a great time at this location.*******BEWARE*********Covid testing should be done outside of the airport. If you do your Covid test at the airport they’re scamming Americans and having them stay there for 14 days! No soap, NO HOT WATER, NOT EVEN TOWELS! We’re being held hostage here. Meanwhile at the hotel the only encounters we had were sloths and monkeys.

Good facility, great beach. I found food was extremely overpriced. Staff was nice and friendly.

just went to the restaurant and had a terrible experience, the bar tender was the rudest person i’ve ever seen. at first he didn’t want to serve us water because we didn’t have the right bracelets, then he got mad when we asked if we could pay with card??? one bad person can ruin the impression of an entire place and that was the case here

Amazing resort with phenomenal villas. The location is beautiful itself and the property is wonderfully landscaped and well kept. The staff are very helpful and overall it was a perfect experience.

Stayed at Villa 38. Beautiful ocean View. Fully equiped property with private pool and all commodities. Very close to the Beach and beach Club.

Very nice resort. Clean and well appointed. Good restaurants and a gorgeous reception area. Feels like a five star resort for sure.

Beautiful experience! I would highly recommend Red Frog Beach! Everyday has been an incredible experience. Everyone is very friendly. The food is also great and the views while you have a meal is breath taking.

Today I visited the red frog beach and the first I saw was the dead body a drowned tourist. Very shocking!!! This beach kills people and nobody warns you!!! The beach club seems luxury but the owner just wants your money!! Stay away from this place!!! Never, under no circumstances go into the water!!!And read the other posts! To many people died there!

A hidden gem from most. Well worth he visit. Amazing location, water, vibe and energy. A slice of island heaven.If you stay at the resort, golf carts are must and do have an additional charge, but it is WELL WORTH it.Stop by Nacho Mamas and PalMar at the end of the resort for some of the best food on the island.This place is amazing.

Too expensive for what it was...villa was outdated and furniture was dirty. TV did not work and no one came to fix it even though it was reported. Pillows had stains on them. Restaurants are so far away from the villas and if you call reception, they pick you up in an actual pick up. It wasnt a high end resort as I was expecting and hoping. Food in the two restaurants was mostly bland. I would never go back as I think it is extremely overpriced. Btw, I failed to mention no privacy as resort staff just appeared in my backyard twice. The only saving grace is the beach.

Absolutely loved our stay at Red Frog. Wonderful, quiet location. Beautiful beaches. Villas are amazing, clean, well furnished. Staff extremely nice. Would love to return some day.

Our stay at Red Frog was truly amazing. The were greeted warmly and shown our villa by Enrique, he answered all our questions and helped us plan our stay. The Villa is wonderful, its large, upscale, clean, and relaxing. You will have everything you need, even down to clothes detergent. We tried both restaurants and enjoyed both very much. The service was really good. La Rosa has wonderful salads and fresh seafood tacos. You can sit and look out at the waves and enjoy a delicious lunch. We also tried The Point twice and it was really good, great variety of pizzas and salads. All of these great things aside, I did have a medical emergency on the resort. It was totally my fault for not wearing proper shoes and I fell and cut my knee pretty bad. Anyway, the staff at the resort helped me beyond measure. They safely and quickly transported me to the clinic in Bocas and then, when I returned, they did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable and safe and healthy. Juan made an appointment for me in the City for follow up care, Enrique, Santiago, Joel and Juan and others, all did everything in their power to help me. They gave me crutches to use and made sure I could get around and still enjoy my vacation. I must give a very special thank you to David (Deibi), the resort paramedic, he helped keep my lacerations clean and gave me bandages and cream ointment to make sure I didnt scar or get an infection. It is because of him that I recovered so well with no scarring on my face. The attention and kindness was invaluable to me. Please give them all a raise as they went above and beyond for me. I will never forget or be able to repay all those caring individuals at Red Frog Resort. Know you will be safe and happy on your trip here!

Gem of a resort on a beautiful island. Great place for the family. Highly recommend all of the activities they provide. Only suggestion would be to stock up on food before coning over if you plan on cooking. The store at the resort is pretty minimal

Simply stunning! Words cant express how welcoming and amazing the people are here! I love this place. Theres no way Im not coming back here. So much to see and do and eat! All of it so amazing. Swim, surf, boat, beach, pool. Whatever you want in a resort is here and more! Beautiful and welcoming! Gorgeous. All the other words for ridiculously nice looking. 😀

I don’t think there can be a more beautiful place on earth than Red Frog Resort.The staff are wonderful, my daughter tripped on her first day going to the wonderful pizza bar and cut her big toe. Well the lifeguard is a paramedic and he came and cleaned up her bleeding toe and checked on her each day when he saw her.The scenery is just spectacular. No where have I seen a facility that compliments the surroundings as much as this resort. The wildlife lives in harmony with the resort. There were monkeys, sloths, parrots, ref frogs, starfish, barracuda, mangroves, stunning beaches; it’s a paradise.They utilize the rain water, solar panels, give power to the indigenous locals, just a wonderful and most beautiful resort I think I’ve ever been to.

The Villas are wonderful. We have a family of 5 and there was so much space. The private pools at each villa is large, clean, and well maintained. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT!!!

This place was absolutely incredible! We stayed in a three room villa on the island. It had a gorgeous view and a private pool. The villas are built in way that really shows off the natural beauty of the island. There are several restaurants available. The food was great. One thing that really stood out was the staff. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. They helped make the stay enjoyable.The beaches were beautiful and clean. We walked around the island and found an excellent spot for snorkeling. There is a nice pool and hot tub by one of the restaurants near the beach.There is a little general store near the entrance that had everything we needed for a reasonable price. Getting around the island was a bit challenging because you had to call for someone to come pick you up. They were generally very fast.Getting to the island took a little longer we had to catch a flight in a different smaller airport in Panama City. Even though it took awhile to get there, it was well worth it. We enjoyed every minute.

Beautiful beaches and a great location but very poorly managed. We had no hot water and it took three days of complaining to get the problem resolved. Management made multiple promises that they never delivered on. I’ve paid much less for much more. Would not return.

Beautiful clean grounds...lots of choices to get away from the boat and they have a hottub.

After staying several places on the island, I found this to be the best option. Very clean, great service, and although not "amazing", it certainly was the best food Ive had out here on the islands. I enjoyed having a kitchen and the option to cook as well. I will definitely be coming back here.

we went to this resort for lunch today and it was the most terrible and honorific experience we ever had in the whole of Bocas region. First of all you have to pay $ 5 per person to get into the resort. So basically they let you pay to go and have lunch. at the reception where they all did not seem to care a lot they told us that we could either eat in the cantina or at selinas or we could choose a restaurant at the beach but if we wanted to eat some better quality food we had to pay another $ 20 per person ... so more money just to have lunch. they told us that the beach restaurant was about 5 to 7 minutes walk. we walked for more than 25 minutes on a steep uphill muddy and slippery path and with the absence of signage we walked passed the restaurant. when we finally got to the restaurant, all sweaty and muddy we were told in a very rude and unprofessional way that they were closed. After a 20 minute walk back to reception we just took a watertaxi to get out of there as fast as we could. So basically we paid $ 10 to see a closed restaurant. If there was a "0" rating we would have given it. A good advice ... save $ 5 and go and have a nice cocktail in one of the superb restaurants or bars in Bocas town. There you will be treated like a guest.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was so relaxing. The staff was kind and very helpful. The homes beautiful and spacious. A great place to just get away for some peace and quiet.

Great rooms and... Most things, the only problem was some of the staff and transportation modes but its a great resort otherwise

This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Just got back from a 5-day stay and I was completely impressed. The villas are gorgeous with great views of the ocean in the distance. Also theyre fully furnished kitchens, WiFi, pools and jacuzzis. Great for a group or a romantic getaway for two. The property is well-kept and overall has a very nature-centric ambience. Cant recommend it highly. Cant say enough about the staff— professional, courteous and accommodating!! Dont pass this place up!!

The villas are upscale, fully equipped and beautiful! Its literally paradise. The zip line was awesome and the jungle massage was one of a kind. There are several beaches and all of them fantastic. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We cant wait to return and do some more exploring!

I did not stay here but did go ziplining and it was amazing!! My boyfriend and I both loved it and we even saw a few sloths:the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful throughout the whole thing. Thanks for the best time red frog!!
