This quaint 17th-century pub with rooms is a 6-minute walk from Richmond train station and Kew Road shops, and a 10-minute walk from Old Deer Park.Bright, unfussy rooms have en suite bathrooms, and include tea and coffeemaking facilities, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.The traditional bar serves classic pub fare, and offers weekend live music. There's also outdoor seating.
Atmosphere the staff the beer and food
Lovely stay in Richmond, thank you. Will stay again.
Good beer, good service, good clientele and a great band tonight, The Allbeats !!! And still as a great on my return visit !!! Mr Tambourine...lol
Great spot for a chilled beer in the afternoon
Lovely, friendly bar. There was a band playing on the Saturday night, absolutely loved their music. Wished I had noted who they were.
Went here on Saturday and its a brilliant pub such a great atmosphere 😃
It was not too busy, the G&T was cold and delicious, perfect ❤️
A really nice, bog standard pub. 👍
Great for live music in a friendly atmosphere on a Saturday night.
Great location and great pubStaff was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms was perfect. We will deffo be coming again when we are back in the area.Thank you
The room was clean and comfortable.Staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance from station and Kew Gardens
Nice down to earth pub. Great selection of beer
Absolutely lovely pub to stay in with fantastic staff and rooms. The only reason I didn’t score this a 5 was for the noise in the street in the morning. 6.30 a big and noisy deliveryBut for the price we paid it’s OUTSTANDING value and I would book again in a heartbeat if staying in Richmond area
Wonderful old pub and delicious wine!
Love this pub. Atmosphere is fab. People are friendly and relaxed. You can bring your own food and eat indoors or outdoors. Very busy and has a live band. Only disadvantage is, the place is small!! So be aware if you are claustrophobic and dont mind being in someones personal space because this place gets heaving!!
Amazing staff very chilled place with a lovely quizz. I recommend
Thoroughly enjoy the live music, even though I apparently dance like a man who doesnt dance appropriately.
Arrived late on a Saturday after a picnic on Richmond Green and drinks at a bar on the river.People wanted to go there bc of good live music. True to word a 4 piece band and singers where belting well known/ loved tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The mainly 45 plus crowd who were singing along and dancing there hearts out.Bar service fast and friendly.Friendly talking people, likely a great place to make new friends and perhaps even rarer, to meet a significant other if your over 45.Ill be back.Whats not to love. I highly recommend!
First time at the Red Cow, went solely for the live band playing from 9pm. So pleased we did, what a band & pub is great too, with a fantastic vibe. Lovely little seating area outside. So......one week later, went on a Saturday afternoon.... different story....3 old red faced men sitting around the bar, no vibe, no atmosphere, just a dive for drunks. Without the live band on a Saturday night & Sunday afternoon this pub would close down.
Very quiet {mid afternoon}. Nice beer. Pub interior looks great. Plenty of seating outside
Great staff, great drinks and fantastic ambiance. Enough said 😎
I’m not from round Richmond but had a dinner reservation across the road, popped in as we heard a live singer on guitar (James Deaneon a Sunday night for a quick drink. Was a really lovely atmosphere, wish we could have stayed longer.
Nice pub. Good beer and good vibes. Going to check out the live music evening on Friday/Saturday.
Nipped in here for a quick pint and was greeted with very friendly bar staff and a decent selection of beers
Good place, an old fashioned pub feel to it.Went on a Friday evening. No food and a rowdy but good natured atmosphere while the football was on. Guinness was good. Staff were friendly. Will go again on a Saturday to check out the live music.
Had a great Saturday night here with live music. Really fun atmosphere and friendly staff.
Nice clean place with a good atmosphere. Live music on Saturdays make a night out that much better. Would recommend
Enjoyed the music and dancing Sunday evening 👌. Really nice pub, will be back 👍
If theres a better pub in Richmond, I havent found it (and Ive tried them all). Its not the decor or the food or the drinks (all of which are excellent), its the landlord, the staff and the customers that make this simply the friendliest, most welcoming pub for miles.
My absolute favourite pub in Richmond! If I could, I would give more than 5 stars for the incredible bar staff - you’re the BEST!
Loved this traditional pub. Popped in after the Rugby at Twickenham stadium. Fairly priced but the atmosphere was the best part.
Brilliant pub with brilliant members of staff! My partners old stomping ground and it was a privilege visiting this pub. Definitely worth a visit if in Richmond!!
My stay at the Red Cow was nothing short of wonderful, largely in part due to the wonderful support of the staff working there. From the moment I arrived, they were helpful in getting me settled, providing great guidance on places to eat and visit, and even coordinated another room for an unexpected extension to my stay there without hesitation. The rooms were cozy and clean, with all the amenities needed for a nice pop in when not out exploring.Add to that the glorious smells of delicious food wafting from nearby Alberts Deli, the great selection of beers on tap, and a scenic township to explore - I will absolutely be using Richmond as a lodging point for future trips to London, and you can be sure that the Red Cow will be where I stay.
Bit pricy (its Richmond thoughand not a lot of space when its busy but great service, good selection of drinks and the music events are fantastic. I hope to play here soon
very warm atmosphere welcoming friendly. Comfortable beds really enjoyed our stay there and looking forward to next time. location is great too.
Would have given five stars it I had been told the kitchen was shut 😉 ops I did anyway. Lovely room ace shower, comfy bed. Plenty of places to eat in Richmond. Will defo book again if working in the area but hope kitchen is open next time.Ps thanks for the glass of wineSteve
Handy location and really great size room. What I loved the most was the bed which was huge and super comfy. Could have done without the 6:45 am wakeup call as the beer barrels rolled in, but really liked it here
Great Atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. Live music always a winner. Favourite pub in Richmond.
Absolutley awesome staff! We sat outside to watch the football and they did not forget about us , kept checking we were alright for food and drinks ! Was such a lovely atmosphere and live music on a Sunday evening was amazing !! The chap on guitar was excellent! Everyone was up for a good time ! Thanks guys ! Highly recommend !!
Apologies, I genuinelydidnt mean to leave 1 Star, I think my phone has a bug because we had the most incredible time at yours. I am so sorry, please accept my apologies and I wish you all the best over the coming months. We will try to be back. Thank you for questioning my review because I wouldnt have known it hadnt added 5 stars if you hadnt said. The red cow is amazing!
Situated just outside of Richmonds well-trodden track, the red cow is a great little pub with lots of seating indoors and limited spaces in their (very small!suntrap of a beer garden. There are two pay for parking spaces on the road next to entrance, along with other parking spaces along the roads close by. Although their kitchen wasnt open, they were incredibly accommodating by providing us with cutlery and plates and actively advising us to order in. They had a great selection of alcohol and had a couple of tvs showing the cricket. This is the second time Ive been and have had an enjoyable experience there.
Absolutely love what they have done with the place. Its vibrant and well laid out. The service is second to none with a real focus on customer satisfaction. It has everything you need for a wonderful weekend; live sport, Sunday roasts and a great selection of lagers and ales. If its live music you love then the Red Cow also caters to you. Fully fledged bands or solo artists grace the pub most Saturdays! Family run, it is a real jewel in Richmond crown.
Went to watch football. Plenty of screens so good visibility from anywhere in the bar. Fair prices for Richmond (a bit more expensive than other areas but to be expectedgreat choice of drinks.
Massively disappointing Chicken Burger and one of the worst Ive ever had. Lots of bread and salad with chicken thats wafer thin.Pretty much the portion of a chicken nugget that has been flattened.Pub is decent and a good atmosphere but just a massive shame my first try of their food was poor. The excuse by the the barman was that they are always like that.
I came here especially for something to eat because their website said they were serving until 10pm. I arrived at 9pm and there wasnt a table so waited. Then when I had a table at 9:30 I went to order food and I was told that they stopped serving at 9pm. Had I known this, I would have got something in the place I had just left instead of heading there. Result: no dinner. Thanks for the false information. Also, the beer is ridiculously overpriced.Other than that, brilliant pub!
A real treasure. Quiet pub that hasnt changed for decades. Still has lots of its original Victorian features and the few modern additions have been sensitively executed. Overall an authentic boozer. The staff are wonderful, keen, attentive and efficient. Great place to go in a small group for a quiet chat in cosy surroundings. If you find this helpful please give it a thumbs up.
Only stopped for a couple of pints as its our new local, but was very pleasantly suprised to find a decent live band playing a mix of country, blues and soft rock.Good friendly atmosphere, good beer selection but the missus 2 glasses of wine varied from rubbish to very good, go figure!
Love this pub! The staff is exceptional! Been in town working across multiple time zones, so lots of crazy hours, but in the short time I have been here I feel like I am already a local, because this pub has met all my needs from good food, to great drinks to genuine hospitality. Steph with the pink tips has been awesome! Im off to Central London tomorrow, but cant wait to come back to Richmond and be a "local" again. Many thanks to this excellent staff!!!
Great place to watch the rugby if you do not want to be crowded out in the main pubs of Richmond. Bit on the small size if it gets really busy otherwise a good atmosphere with basic pub food (burger and chips etc).
Great little local pub.Sure, drinks are pricy, but no more so than any other pub in Richmond. The choice of ale is always varied, and its great just to sit inside the wonderful interior or on one of the benches outside.Good for sports matches too, plus the weekly pub quiz is a classic!
