A menu featuring an array of traditional Chinese dishes in an easygoing setting with colorful decor.
The owner is very generous and kind. Must visit!
Service was okay, the environment was nice I got the generals tso. Taste was Mediocre at best.
Used to be a nice establishment until I ordered here the other day online, with an estimated pickup time of 7:15-7:30pm. Got there a few minutes late at 7:34 and had to stand in line for about 5 extra minutes. When I got up to the counter at 7:40, the lady was incredibly rude saying “7:30 means 7:30.” Okay, and an “estimated pickup time” means estimated pickup time, not even accounting for the time that I stood in line for. They need to work on their customer service and until then, will never be ordering here again. The fried rice and egg roll were both incredibly dry just like the employees attitude as well. So not a good experience on any level. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Food was delicious. Highly recommend, very friendly service
The food was really good.
Great small business, my favorite place to stop in and eat. Great service and amazing food.
Great general tso’s chicken and lomein. Definitely a place to stop by for authentic Chinese food
Food is delicious and cheap! They gave me a free sample of a chicken leg and it was awesome! Would totally buy if that was an option.
Always the best and so quick with delivery!
Our food was way overcooked or burnt. Everything tasted so gross and was inedible even our kids didnt like it. Our "lol mein" noodles were just fettuccini noodles with soy sauce
Staff is the worst and rudest set of folks Ive encountered here in ohio since living here. Smmfh
I ordered General Tso Chicken, egg rolls, spicy steamed dumplings and donuts. Everything except the dumplings was beyond too oily for some reason; Im practically a disposal and am not usually picky in the slightest with food, and dont like to complain, but this was not good. Even after drinks to try to clear the oily-ness out of my mouth and throat, it still persists. Not sure what happened here but it was not good.
Satisfied my spicy take-out fix! Real tasty and flavorful, must have!!
Pretty standard food. Better than most Chinese places on campus
I had the Hot N Numbing Wok-Fried 麻辣香锅 with beef. If you like spicy food, this has a really pleasant level of spice (lingering/numbing spice and some minor sweats). Not punishingly hot. Great flavor as well. Lo Mein Noodles with tofu were also delicious.
Ordered off of Doordash and I can say this is the worst chinese food I have ever had!! The General Tsao’s chicken is dry and chewy, the sauce in no way resembles General Tsao’s sauce (It tastes more like Sriracha), the “fried rice” is white rice with soy sauce (no onions, no eggs, etc.), and the egg roll is not bad. They also screwed up part of my order. Screw this place.
Placed an order through Uber eat my god the oil 💀😭it fried donuts and 1 egg roll I had to squeeze out the oil so much oil out of 10 piece I only ate 1 of them never ordering from this place again if you care about your health please don’t order from them
Ordered threw door dash first time trying even after reading negative reviews about the general tso I tried it and i loved it . sweet bit spicy over all decent Chinese 👌
Pretty bland and cheap. They dont even give you sauce with your egg rolls!
Great food!! Love their hot sour soup so yummy!
Pad Thai is oily, lacks the key flavors of the dish (tamarind for exampleand is really salty. My eggroll clearly had sugar and maybe cinnamon all over it, very bizarre. Would not recommend eating here.
Good little spot for lunch and dinner. Everything is reasonably o priced, pretty cheap for the portions you get. Convenient location as well
This is definitely not Zha Jiang noodle. In addition, the noodle has bad quality, i am afraid it is not cooked. By the way, It is not spicy at all.
The pork and shrimp flat noodles is such an elite and balanced dish. They are so consistent with it too. As someone who has been in restaurants for 10 years, I can’t stress enough how important consistency in food is and they’ve got that down pat. Easily something I can eat at any time.
Pros:-Authentic Sichuan hot pots-Fantastic noodle soups-Decent priceCons:-Not the cleanest establishment-Other dishes are forgettable
I used to eat here all the time when u was a student at tOSU. I am happy to say the food was just as tasty as I remember it.
I got a large General Tsao’s and it was the perfect amount of spice! They did not skim on the chicken I swear to gosh I got the equivalent of a 10 piece tender meal. It was amazing. I wish they had one in Dayton too.
Ordered general tso with fried rice, and chicken pad thai. General tso needed some more sauce, and the rice was barely brown rice (disappointed bc you pay more for fried rice). Chicken pad thai was lacking flavor. It just couldve been better. Ordered through DoorDash.
Red chilli is without a doubt my favorite spot on campus. I didnt realize how much there food meant to me until they closed down during the pandemic and I was left craving it for the past months. Their chicken hot pot is a staple of my diet, and I nearly cried when I saw they were open for takeout again.
I love this place! They have a lot of traditional dishes that are more similar to what you would actually find in China. If you are interested in less americanized Chinese food, definitely try it out. However they also have the common options if you are pickier. All of the food here is really delicious and I love the imported Chinese drinks they sell as well!
Food and service are both good! Like their rice!
the ONLY reason its getting 3 stars is because it arrived FRESH from door dash. Listen to these reviews when they say the general tsos has a weird taste, it does!! Its missing something.I wont order from here again
Best Chinese food near main campus.Edit: Had to drop from 5 to 4 stars. They recently raised their prices and their serving proportions seem a smaller. I still think the food is really great but has become infeasible to go there often.
Only reason its not one star is the egg rolls. Out of this world good!! General Tzos tasted weird. unlike any other ive had. almost like kung-pao or something. Sticky Rice was lower quality than I would expect from an asian place. I can make better asian food at home. And will. Tonight.
This place is just lazy. Their menu claims their fried rice contains egg, onion, and bean sprout. It doesn’t, it’s just plain rice that is brown. General Tso sauce is weird. Chicken is stringy.
Best Chinese food in Columbus! Variety of food options. Doesnt get packed after football games. Get the Hunan chicken.
Don’t sleep on Red Chili. There’s a bunch of places to eat on high street as a student, but this place is way better than any of the fast food places you could choose from. The price is easy on the budget and amount of food you get for it is so much.
I ordered Spicy garlic sauce, onion, mushroom,Jalapeno with chicken. Not only was the food bland the portion size left a lot to be desired.
Food was simply okay. I wasnt impressed with the space, the staff, or beverage options. Also, my food was served so hot that I burnt my tongue. I probably wont go there again.
I started coming here a few months ago for lunch. I would always get the same thing - either hunan shrimp with fried rice, or broccoli shrimp with fried rice. Today, I tried something different. I had the Lazi chicken and shrimp noodle soup. The woman behind the counter had warned me that the chicken was bone-in. I thought she meant like chicken wings. Nope. It was chopped chicken with the bones still in it. It was good, juicy and spicy, but I had to be careful to not eat or swallow the bones. The soup wasnt bad. Wish it were spicier, with more than just bok choy. I plan to try other dishes soon.
This restaurant so thoroughly exceeded expectations that it was shocking. The food was excellent, especially at the extremely reasonable prices. Its fairly no frills, so come for great food, not service. Highly recommended!
Good food, but bad customer service. The male cashier treats his customer in a very dis-respectful manner, especially towards Chinese students - will not go back.
I asked for the Tofu Sweet Chili and Broccoli and its literally cooked tofu with like 2 pieces of broccoli just completely all covered in pink sweet and sour sauce... no actual flavor at all :( so sad :(
I really like Red Chili, granted I rarely know what I am ordering before I blindly order, there food is good, but since I blindly (I dont know what alot of the dishes are and the descriptions on the menu are lackingorder I often get something different than I expected
Fairly low price, good portion of food, food comes out fast, friendly service, and the taste is good!Plus they do pay attention to what customers asked for, like they always remember to make it less spicy (even no spicywhen I asked, even during the rush hours. And you can always ask for a refill of rice when you dont have enough! The daily special is always good, and only costs $8.95 (10% off if paid with cash)(Btw, theres also a variety of Chinese drinks available in the restaurant that you cant find else where)
This is very authentic food. If you enjoy Chinese Americanstyle do not come here. I would not recommend delivery. The drink selection has various types and the schuan hot pot is amazing with the fresh cloves. It makes your lips tingle. Highly recommend this place to eat in once again not a delivery sort of joint and not your average chinese American food menu.
Red Chili has THE best hunan shrimp in the area. They are friendly and serve quickly. Great value, my favorite!
Really deserves more attention. I tend to go for hot pepper chicken on fried rice both here and at Mark Pis, and this place is about the same price and gives you seemingly 20 or 30% more food, and its delicious.
Food is good, and prices fair. Our waitress was kind of short but got us our food just fine.
This place has some of the best chinese food I have ever tasted. it was pretty inexpensive and everything about the nmeal was great. If you want some good chinese food definately check this place outa
