Red Cave Restaurant - Restaurant in Ma'an, Jordan
Touristic restaurant as expected. Nothing too bad but definitely overpriced and the food is not good.
Good place And good local food
Yazan the owner is the most welcoming person. Food incredible, you must go for the local dishes. We came back the next morning to have tea with him. You have to come here! They even do cooking classes too!
This is truly excellent tasty traditional local food (vegan options!and very friendly staff. The Gallayaht Fooel is amazing.
Food is good and personel is nice. However they tried to charge me tourist tax. The moment i disagreed they directly discounted it. They counted 1JOD plus for my food compared to the card…
Great place without a doubt! Much, much better than the other restaurants weve eaten out at. Weve had the kofte with tomato sause and home made bread, a mint couscous salad as well as the cheese burger. We both liked it a lot. Amar was a verry friendly waiter. Not too pushy, friendly and good service. They can improve the lighting/atmosphere but the food is great (i got very sick yesterday at my moms recepy we both didnt like the food there either (better atmosphere but horrible food and service))
The price you pay dont match the price listed. When you ask why you have to pay much more, they are very vague. They just add the amount they like.... Dont go here. Food was okay, not great, not terrible
We dined here on our first night in Wadi musa and ate from the bedouin menu. it was honestly one of the most delicious meals we have ever had. we ended up returning again and again!the service was warm and welcoming, Yuzan the manager was exceptionally friendly and made our dining experience extra special and memorable.the restaurant itself is a lovely setting. We would highly recommend
Amazing restaurant with a great staff, clean and tasty.
The chips were fresh and hot but the shawarma was super dry and there was barely any meat pieces in it. It was basically just bread with a hint of meat. That was absolute jokes. But the guy was kind enough to offer free drinks and we were super hungry and tired after our Petra visit so we ate it.
Unfortunately a rather disappointing experience. The location close to Petra is good and I did enjoy my mint lemonade. However, my falafel sandwich was just plain bad. There were barely any fillings in the sandwich itself and the bread was beyond stale. It sounded like a piece of stone hitting the plate. I ended up making it an open face sandwich as the bottom half was inedible. Voiced my displeasure and the response was “Oh, sorry”.
Me & my husband had lunch today (17 July 2022in Red Cave Restaurant after our visit to Petra Archaeological Park. The owner/manager very nice and friendly, he gave us a warm hospitality. Their hummus just freshly made and served. It was THE BEST Hummus Ive ever tried (in Indonesia or while Im in Jordan). Thank you for your excellent service and impeccable taste for both the dishes (Hummus and Boneless chicken grilled)! LOVE!
I just had lunch today around 11.30am after visiting Petra Archeological Park. The restaurant is just a minute away from the main entrance. The manager (owneris helpful and give us a free cold water. We order Boneless Chicken grill with rice, Excellent choice. He even called our driver to pick up us after lunch. Excellent food, location, and the price is fair. Highly recommended place in Petra city.
Very good restaurant and reasonable prices
Great service with Abdul. Very tasty Baba ghanoush, lamb entre, lemon mint drink, and dessert. Would love to go back.
Quick service. Tasty food. Amazing staff. Clean bathrooms.
I highly recommend eating here while you are in Petra. The food was authentic and tasted delicious.
We tried to eat mansaf but the meat was dry like chicken breast from two days ago and the rice was very dry too, we couldn’t finish the food. We ended in my mom’s recipe, a bit further, and we could finally eat.
Really good place next to the entrance to Petra. Local food with great service. We had only sandwiches but they were really tasty and all people next to us seemed to be really enjoying their food. I’d definitely go there again.
Stopped by for juice, tea and water after a hot day in Petra. Fair price, but nothing out of the ordinary. Quick service which was very welcome.
Good local food at decent price; right next to Petra visitor center you would expect a more touristic place butt red cave delivered a good meal and fast serving.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and wonderful and friendly staff. I would everybody who stay in Petra or Wadi Musa to have a comfortable evening there!
Delicious traditional food, great atmosphere and the staff go above and beyond to be helpful, kind and generous. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend to come here to have dinner. Excellent Jordanian food and perfect Service with Abdul. I recommend the Sawani with chicken and try some local sweets deserts. Well decorated restaurant
Best meal in Jordan, exceptional (really really exceptionalservice, and fantastic traditional Bedouin dishes. Loved everything!!The best place to eat near Petra!
Wonderful restaurant, very friendly owner, Abdul, was very kind and generous bringing us tea and hummus and also fruit juice for my son complimentary. We ordered the shepherds salad and mansaf the signature dish or Jordan. It was delicious!! Highly recommend this restaurant. Very clean, comfortable, and delicious food.
A nice place with delicious food. I tried mansaf, the national dish of Jordan, and it was extraordinary! Prices are a bit high, but not higher than the other restaurants in Tourist Street. I didnt mind paying, because these people make their living from it, and since the pandemic they havent had many customers. The members of the staff are very sympathetic, we were even given a pot of Bedouin tea before our meal, completely free of charge. I can highly recommend this restaurant!
Good food, great tea, amazing service. Everyone was really nice to us, we enjoyed lunch for 2 and got some extra appetizers while waiting for our food. We had shawarma and Kefta bi tahini both dishes were so good.
Nice place and friendly staff. Food was tasty and we got hummus and tea for free
The food was good, the people ok.
Had a delicious meal of vegetarian mezzes here. Lovely room with an intriguing collection of portraits on the wall. Excellent service. Especially recommend the Red Cave salad.
Long waiting for any attention of the waiter. Pita cold. Burger with hardly any meat. Hummus - ok. Halumi burned. In general - I do not recommend it :-(
Despite being recommended by Lonely planet travel guide, it did not justify its reputation. I do not exactly remember the name of the dishes we ordered; however, what I know is that we did not get what was written on the menu. One was supposed to be with chicken and then there was no meat at all - only vegetables and rice as a side dish. The other one was supposed to be with almonds; again, there were no almonds. When we warned the waiter about that, he only laughed either because he did not understand or he knew he is making fun of us. We paid around 25€ for two main dishes (the prices seem higher compared to next door restaurants according to the menu). Since this is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in the area according to what I have read, I am afraid you do not have much choice but I would rather not go there again.
Bad service... Food regular... Expensive... Its not worth going there... Better food in a diferent place will cost you way less... But prubebly its normal next to petra...luckly one server was very nice...
We love fresh lemon with mint😀We came here tiwce to drink it.
Just around Petra you can find the Red Cave Restaurant. This Beduin restaurant is one of the best in Wadi Musa, with good prices and a very tasty food. The staff is very careful and the serviço os quite good. The manager was very friendly. Great choice!
It was expensive, food was less than average and service just ok. But the location is good. However, I recommend using google maps to find a better restaurant within 10min walking distance.
Great service. Food was good but it is a bit pricy (everywhere in Petra). Portions are not big, so not enough to share for two. All in all this place is decent.
The food is amazing here, we both ate gallayah, and it was the most delicious thing i have ever eaten. the waiters were very kind
Best place to have bedouin food in Wadi Musa. Located 5 minutes away by walk from Petras entrance, Abdul gives you advice about everything you need and the price for every meal is very good. I strongly recommend Sawani and Mansaf. Tasty food!
Great service, selection, and food. I enjoyed my quick lunch here. The grape leaves were delicious and they accommodated my food allergies for my main course.
We loved our lunch and came back for dinner. Every one of our party of seven - including vegetarians and gluten free - thought the food was delicious. The Bedouin red cave salad and the Bedouin Vegetarian dish were amazing. The waiter was great
The food was really tasty. The waiters were really grumpy, but I think they were just struggling with Ramadan in the summer heat, but then so would I be if I hadnt eaten all day.
Way over priced. The grills are cold and the chicken is dry. Dinner for two with two dishes and one drink cost 30JD while the dinner buffet in a hotel nearby cost only 10JD per person.
Salads and hummas were tasty, but the meat grill kabab and the special chicken grill were not that great. My special chicken grill which came off the grill menu was more of a stir fry with what tasted like canned mushrooms and very little chicken. We have had several kababas on this trip, but these were the worst. If is was cheap I might have given a higher review, but this meal which should have cost 8 Jod cost 30 Jod which is crazy.
Dont go to this restaurant. Service is a total desaster. We ordered 4 dishes and only 3 came. When we inquired for the fourth we were told that we only ordered 3. And the way this server treated us like we were lying, not like he made a mistake. During our stay every single table was asking when their food would arrive and they served the wrong foods to tables as well.We dont recommend to go here...go somewhere else to eat....
They know how to provide good service, and maintain the place, but the food need some improvements. We order chicken curry and shawarma they are not good. Along this street everything is way too pricey.
Nice Bedouin cuisine served. I must confess that I ordered a second glass of Lemon juice with mint. You cant help it when you just done with Petra trekking.
Nice restaurant situated very close to the entrance of Petra with fair prices. The hummus was good, but the chicken shawarma was a little dry. The Coca Cola was ice cold though.
A 3 star because compliments to the food served. However, we we put off by its "hidden cost", especially food served out of menu. Perhaps we were not prepared for such offers. To our dismay, six glasses of plain hot water was "chargeable". Maybe we made a wrong decision to dine in a restaurant 50m away from the Petra Entrance. And honestly, we seriously think that it is over priced.
