Brisket was great, cant go wrong with the side or the price. Out of town and stopped in for lunch. Unassuming from the outside but worth the stop.

Friday night steak night

Terrible food and arrogant chief. The waiters seem to feel the same way about the chief as well. My party and I went on Friday steak night, you pay first then get service, so effectively allowing the restaurant to treat you however the feel like. We all ordered medium and medium rare steaks and when the food arrived we were all shocked at how dry and "well done" the steak was. When you press your fork on the steak it is hard and no juice comes out, the center had no sign of redness, the surface was burnt, and you could see all the fiber of the dried up meat. We asked the waitress to send it back, assuming they would acknowledge their mistake and redo a steak for us or any sort of apologetic signs, but no, we were faced with the arrogance of the chief, stating that what we ordered was correct and hinting that we dont know our steaks. In hindsight, the waitress had a reluctant expression when returning the food, as if she knew what the outcome was. We overheard literally everything table sending their steaks back and receiving the same response as ours. A member of our party just left in disgust without finishing his food, if I could give negative stars for this trash I would.

The buffet was cold. Cold meat isnt that good.

If I can rate zero star, Ill do so.I ordered a medium cook steak,but it came out as overcook.Worst part is, after I told the kitchen about this, the chief (highly doubt he deserve this titleinsisted the steak is medium cook and refuse to do anything.Like diacarded my $30 in the ocean.Worst dinning experience in my life.

An absolutely fantastic experience indeed! From the moment of the initial contact through Facebook very polite eager to help in answering any questions very welcoming. Then when we got there the service was amazing the people were so kind and polite they made you feel like you were home visiting family members that you havent seen in awhile very accommodating to specific Needs & Wants definitely a place you can enjoy your food. And on top of it all the food was fantastic it had a flavor of its own. the steak was so tender you could almost cut it with the fork Ive never had a ribeye that was that tender and flavorful and marbling was amazing the Char was perfect. The decor was rustic beautifully put together and thought out a Big Red Barn indeed but boy was it beautiful how can you say its so beautiful? Visit the ladies room such beautiful country charm. Finally, the price to eat there was amazing for everything you can get we were on a budget and it was well below that. My husband and I didnt get to really do anything for anniversary so we were celebrating our anniversary today Andr recommit to our vows 3 years! how time flies. Thank you everyone at the Red Barn for making our experience wonderful God blessing and we pray for your prosperity. If anyones ever going out that way it is definite place to stop and enjoy a little piece of country heaven.

So this place has good service and is clean, but I ordered my ribeye steak medium well and it came out well done dried out. Only the potatoes were good. That was the first time we ate there, but not good at all for both of us. Never again

All the fried shrimp and fish you can eat...every Wednesday...nice buffet . Different menu items through the week. Very nice employees. Nice building and plenty of tables. Have to try again ☺

The Food Today was AmazingThe Pork Tenderloin Special Today was Probably the Best Ive Ever Tasted.We had a group of 21 Hungry Firefighters and there wasnt any issues keeping up with the food demand.

Cool place outside of town. On motorcycles and saw sign for this place . Buffet had brisket, sausage and meatloaf, today Monday, chicken on Tuesdays. Salad with all the fixings and sides were good.

Excellent bbq brisket. From what I could tell or taste most if not all the food was homemade. Reasonably priced for an all you can eat and decent selection of salad items. Nothing like the golden corral by any means. More family oriented and friendly. Definitely a family business and not a franchise.The building itself looks like an old dance hall and tastefully decorated at that. Golden country music that I havent heard since I was a kid seranaded us as we enjoyed our meal.The atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming I highly recommend Red Barn for family and friends get together, possible weddings even.The menu is a buffet during the week. All you can eat for I believe it was 13.95 including drink. I opted for the option of a single trip for 10.95 including drink and that was plenty.Not open in the evenings except for Friday nights. Then the price goes up substantially for steak night.Make this a lunch stop on your bucket list.

Ours were not ribeyes. Grilled roasts with 1/3 gristle. Tuff meat. Doors opened at 5 not 6 like on their FB page says. Waited outside seems like for ever. Ranch dressing was terrible. Great green beans, mashed potatoes and amazing carrot cake.Girls upfront didnt know what cut Id meat we were getting and didnt even ask how our meal was.Picture below shows upper left gristle.

First let me state that actual BBQ Buffets are like hens teeth, very hard to find! Staff is friendly, good atmosphere,clean and all included price are some of the high points. Brisket is always good, solid selection of sides and enough variety thru the week to keep it fresh. I cant include it on the BBQ trail yet but its closer than a buffet would lead you to believe.

Great grilled steaks (ribeyeon Friday nights​. Comfortable eating, probably is jumping on nights when band plays. Has BBQ on occasions. Best steak in Port Lavaca.
