Good bbq food in a relaxed atmosphere. The meat dishes are great, soft and tender. The broccoli is superb.

Service was really good, it wasnt very busy and waiter was really helpful with his recommendations. The food was good value for money. I felt the pork belly was not very flavoursome considering it was smoked however the beans were amazing.

Very smoky when entering although I believe that adds to the experience.An authentic smoke shack in Leeds!!Very tasty food but be warned. They add a service charge of 12.5% to your bill.

Seated early however, took almost 15 mins to get a drinks order in. Seating very tightly squeezed in, may have just had an unfortunate spot. Food very average. Some interesting concoptions, was informed could not change double burger to chicken & beef due to cost implications, however these items were prices the same on the menu. Burgers came out with a strong burnt taste, due to charge ill cooking. The entrance area was very smokey, smelled like a bad burger king. Bill came with a discretionary £5.25 service charge. First time visit, not overly impressed, give the burger joint next door a try next time instead.

Food was ok, nothing really special. The bin lid sharer is quite a spectical to behold, but all in all think this place is a little over priced. Bar tender had phoned in sick so slow service with the drinks we ordered.

Food was really delicious, a bit expensive overall but quite filling. The pig candy and BBQ burnt ends were so good cant wait to try them again.However the discretionary service charge for us ended up at £17 for a group of 5 which was ridiculous, wish we were aware that we didnt have to pay. -1 star for this practice.

Be very careful when paying the bill here . The severs hide there tips on every bill . Tipping is a reward for great service. You can not put it in every bill too make the customer feel awkward to ask for it to be removed. Food ok.

Food was delicious, staff were so friendly and is pretty reasonably priced. We shared a platter and was ample amount for us! Only bit of feedback is that the chicken loaded fries were slightly dry and bland. The rest 10/10!

Kaitlin has been amazing. Came In with a rowdy group of 20 grown main and she made the experience awesome. If you are looking for a resilient and hard working young lady do not hesitate to contact her. 10/10 would spend £600 any day of the week without hesitation.

Not as good as expected. Sauces didnt taste nice and food had no flavour for American barbeque. Disappointed.And why the mandatory tip on the bill? Its all great saying the money will go to staff but why are they not paid enough to survive without tips?

It was not bad and food came quickly. Its nice to dine outdoors beside the corn exchange and people watch.

A great place to eat, not quite as good as it used to be back in the day, and expensive. The doughnut burger will knock a few weeks off your life! Sides are tasty and lovely, the draught beer is also excellent. Best booking a table at the weekend as you may be queuing.

Was looking forward to going but was a bit disappointed to be honest. Food and drinks quite pricy, crackling was pretty lacklustre, felt like I was eating polystyrene. Burger was okay, nothing above average though. They put a 12% service charge on the bill which we werent too happy about as the service didnt really warrant it. Not enough of a Karen to make them take it off though😁Dont think we will be going back.

It has been years since I visited here, what a pleasent surprise coming back. I went with my mum and we were both in awe of the food. Well cooked meat, that tasted fresh and absolutely full of flavour. We ordered some chips, not noticing the burger come with some - the waiter noticed our confusion and removed them from the cheque, without us commenting. Reall good service and amazing tasting food. The environement makes this place - you should visit if in Leeds.

Love this Barbecue place, strategically located in the heart of Leeds City Centre. Meats were well marinated and served hot and fresh. Most importantly, the outdoor area is dog-friendly. The portion size was huge. We have to take some home. Don’t forget their sauces to go with your meats! We will visit again soon.

Had a wonderful time having some of the best beef Burgers while visiting my mate in Leeds for the first time.The staff were polite and friendly, the decor amazing and that smokey smell/aura once you enter is just perfection!

The waitress offered a sample of their strawberry margarita. I thought that the service would be pretty good. She was actually terrible.The food was mediocre at best. The ribs were overcooked and burnt at the ends. The chicken was ok.The onion ring was good but a little greasy. The fries were really small but filled the portion bucket.I would not eat there again.The waitress was rude to a couple who wanted to sit outside.

First time trying reds.. We went before a concert.. There was loud music from the kitchen.. That fought with the music in the restaurant.. The two competing made for a horrible experience to start with... the Chicken was very.. Very dry.. We asked for a recommendation.. We got Fatty pork rind and beef in a bbq sauce.. I had really high hopes as we were looking forward to some really nice food. I wouldnt come again. Very expensive for what it was. The pork crackling tasted like rice cakes. The lady at first wanted to put us in a crowded spot in the window and tutted when we asked to move. 🤔🙄😣 Not great

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a barbecue for two. It was lovely, flavourful and served fresh. So much so we packed all the leftover to go. It was that nice! Great service as well! The road works around the area made it slightly hidden away, but it was worth it when we got there!

Took my partner as a treat as he loves BBQ he was spoilt for choice. As a vegetarian I thought the veggie choice would be lacklustre but I had mac and cheese balls, frickles and deep fried cauliflower that was in a crispy and flavourful batter, everything was absolutely delicious. Rob, our server, was cheerful and funny and chatted to us about our plans for the weekend - couldnt have been nicer. He recommended a place across the road for us to go for cocktails after dinner and that was lovely too!

Loved it the first time a year ago. This time not so much. The price has skyrocketed. The quality has dipped. We got the dustbin lid for 2. Thats already £53. This time it didnt have the brisket on it and very little of the pulled pork. So more expensive with less food. The.pork belly is nice, the sausage is better. Smoked chicken is smoked chicken. Quite boring. The XXL Wings are a lie. Theyre just normal wings stretched out then overcooked. The ribs are good but you really need the vinegar based BBQ sauce on them to really get a good flavour. The Boston beans are great, the coleslaw isnt. Were on a poor run of choices at the.moment. Shears Yard and 5 Guys all failing to impress also...

It has been my birthday on the 18th May...I have enjoyed the meal my starter was pork crackling with blue cheese sauce main meal xxxl wings and house salad ...and my dessert was chocolate peanut butter cheesecake ...good food and lovely staff...

Just awful! Staff where extremely rude and condescending. One in particular was very horrible and kept ignoring our complaints, very much thought she was something special. Well thanks for the free drinks, we will take our £200+ custom somewhere else! And certainly won’t be returning.As you can see from the reply from Reds, their customer service really is on another level. To clarify, I was out with my mother and brother, and our partners to celebrate my birthday, and just had the one drink whilst there. We had a table booked and arrived promptly, ordered drinks and some scratching straight away. We also discussed the particular dishes we were looking forward to with them. Drinks arrived ok but still no scratchings. We asked to order and where told someone would come shortly. Twenty five mins after we arrived someone appeared at the table to tell us that they had run out of the particular dishes we wanted. At this point we decided to leave and told them to cancel the scratchings that still hadn’t arrived. That’s when the rudest waitress turned up and just barked at us all as we were trying to leave. My brother even warned us about the service prior to booking but I wanted to give it a chance, what a mistake that was!Luckily, we went to a certain Brazilian restaurant in the Light and had one of the best meals ever. The meat was incredible, the service was amazing and they even sang happy birthday to me with a complementary piece of chocolate cake when they heard about what happened at Reds.

This place has 5 🌟 for a reason, absolutely 💯 👌 👏 The food is amazingly good, I have been to the USA a few times and this is one of the most authentic tasting somke houses I have been in for the UK, staff are excellent, the prices is very competitive and the atmosphere is great 👍, the only criticism is that the mens toilets were definitely under par, a strange one I know but it really needs a good clean and lick of paint " smelling quite a bit", but please dont let that put anyone off, its a must visit 😀

Managed to squeeze us in on a busy day and was very accomodating. Food was beautiful and was served quickly and presented nicely. Will be back again on our next visit to Leeds!

We have been to Reds a number of times and it has been amazing, however yesterday was not great apparently the big book is back which meant they had cut out all of the shared starters, we ordered burnt ends brisket which is usually lovely and crispy and quite a large quantity, this time it was 7 chunks of fatty mean swimming in grease. Majorly not impressed which is awful as Reds is one of my favourite places to eat, I would suggest changing the menu back to be honest.

What a place, if you want a meat experience with burgers galore and ribs to savour, this is your spot. Dont try and look pretty eating, it wont happen. Enjoy the good food and get stuck in. You wont regret it.

Good portion, delicious and quality food. The menu is balanced with variety of options depending on what your mood is like. The kitchen view is open and you can see staffs and inside which is cool.Recommending this place 👌🏻

Food was good, but a discretionary 12.5% service charge isn’t discretionary if it’s already included in the receipt total when given to your customer. You’re being on people betting too embarrassed to ask for it to be removed which is not very likely. Pretty shady practise if you ask me. Pay your staff properly in the first place and then food service will be rewarded with tips.

We have been to reds for years and we go for every birthday and anniversary. It is always a pleasure this visit for us was a bit lacking lustre this time. The service as always was impeccable but the food let it down. My husbands meal was outstanding but my sons and my meal was not great burnt and dry unfortunately. We didnt make a fuss as we have a new born so we just wanted to go. We will probably be back again but I cant see it been for a while.

Absolutely amazing! Took my boyfriend for his birthday tonight and was met by lovely servers who really do put their customers first. I seriously cannot recommend it enough. The food is delicious which you can probably tell from the photos alone! Thank you Reds True Barbecue for an amazing time 😁

several times I’m going to eat with my partner here. The food is very good. the meats are very tender and juicy. The starters and extras are very nice. It may take a while to get the food ready, but its worth the wait. Everything taste amazing!

Delicious food, great atmosphere. We had the BBQ Bin Lid feast for two, which was a great way to sample a variety of Reds signature dishes and sides - all on the one plate!

Not been here for several years, must say for a family Sunday meat feast it was fantastic. The staff were great and seems to have lost that arrogance which was off putting several years back. We had the dustbin lid for two with some extra bits, this fed two adults and two children. The pulled pork and smoked sausage were fantastic. Ribs had a lovely taste but were fall off the born tender. That would be the only disappointment.However, overall experience was great, food was a solid 4/5. Will return

The taste is pretty good, with the authentic wings and ribs. Good for BBQ lovers, can improve on the amount served. But definitely worth experience if you are a fan of wings

Awful food, gone down hill big time. My starter in the picture cost £7 and was basically a slice of toast with this awful cheese dip. My ribs were tough and average, the slaw was a joke, it was basically dry shredded cabbage. The extra sausage I got was alright but small for the price, the chips were also overdone. Basically you get small portions of really poor food.The service was bad, no one checked on us and I had to ask them to bring our drinks they forgot about. They also added a service charge to the bill for the minimal service provided, nice!They used to be good but now just rely on their reputation, felt like theyd given up, this is the worst BBQ Ive had in my life, Im done with Reds now, never again. 👎

Visited Reds yesterday, first time in a while. I had the pit burger, fries, pit beans and 1lb of pulled pork.Overall the meal was ok, I wouldnt rush back, some good parts, some mediocre and some poor.First, soft drinks prices are ridiculous. Alcohol is fairly Leeds standard prices so no issues there.I was driving so wanted a soft drink, £3.60 for an allegedly large Pepsi Max, more than likely from a post mix box so will cost Reds about 10p a glass, complete ripoff. Needless to say I only had 1. Should take a leaf out of TGI Fridays book in relation to soft drinks, at that price they should be bottomless, there is always someone who has to drive!Second, the pit burger, I was surprised by this, despite it being packed with bacon, brisket etc, looking great when it came, it was really flavourless.Third, pulled pork was really good, loaded with Kansas BBQ sauce its a total winner.Fourth, pit beans, really good.Overall, my meal was about £30, of which the burger and drink made up £18.50, I felt these two items werent worth the money at all. The pulled pork and pit beans redeemed the whole meal and value for money a little.If I had just got the burger and drink this would be a 1 star rating. However, taking into account how good the other two items were it would have been a 3, but the price of the soft drink pulls it down to a 2.I would go back, but I would avoid the burgers and soft drinks and fill up on pulled pork and pit beans.

Visited Leeds for work and I googled where to eat. This place came second with high ratings. It was close so I went although it’s mainly meat with great selection of burgers and bbq meat I went for the only option vegan burger and 45 min later ( I’ve already been informed about the delayshere comes this great double patty burger. Great selection of sauces as well. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Only 3 stars this time, booked online and mentiond it was my birthday, no referance was made to it on arrival. Was seated right next to a busy till turminal near the toilets when there were plenty of empty tables. Felt very cold for some reasin. Dissapointed with the damaged sauce bottles, must only cost pence to replace them. been lots if times before and its always been very good value for money, Just feel it let itself down on this occasion. Will probly try somewhere new next time Im in Leeds 😕.

All sounded very enticing, unfortunately it didnt fully deliver. I mean, dont get me wrong, it was tasty and good but a lot of the meat we ordered was dry and chewy (including the beef bone, brisket and pulled pork), not moist and tender as we were expecting from the accolades. Staff were friendly, beers too expensive. Wouldnt go back.

One of the best BBQ Joints EVER!I have only been a fan of BBQ for a short period of time after leading a sheltered life, but BBQ is my new love and Reds True BBQ is not lying when they say the home of true BBQ.The food was amazing, the staff were attentive, I am a fussy eater as is my daughter and they had no trouble with customising menu items, remove this and that which some places cannot do as they are not fresh.We watched the "Pit Masters" at work and the food coming over the counter all looked amazing, not just ours.When out food came there was so much and it was all cooked to perfection, we all had starters and a main our only comment was the adult starter came before the childs, the server explained it was because the childs was fully prepared and cooked to order and the adults was already prepared so was a few mins quicker, I hope they pay attention to my comments that kids dont like to wait especially when the adults have food and they dont thankfully my daughter had a book with her and she is not the type to complain but some kids would scream the place down if they had to wait.After the starters we had a short break before they brought out the mains, all at the same time, my plate was perfect, I had the Doughnut Burger and there was about 2 mouthfuls too much food for me, I couldnt eat a pudding which was weird as normally thats what I go out for.My daughter was over the moon with the hotdog, the bun was smaller than the sausage, which she loved as normally she has bread left over which she never eats, again she could not eat a pudding, my wife ordered the Birdy Plate and got extra Turkey, it came with 2 sides of her choice, she got Mac N Cheese, as she wanted to try proper Mac N Cheese and also Onion Rings, the onion rings alone would have filled me they were huge, the Smoked Turkey was great, my wife let me try some, it was far better than the Smoked Turkey at Tesco, sorry Tesco but I wont be ordering any more smoked turkey from you. My wife also had so much food that she could not eat it all either, in the end we opted for a doggy bag to take some food with us to eat on the way home. All in all the food was great, the venue was great, there was a constant smoky bbq smell in the air, just like having a proper BBQ at home, its easy to see why they are always so busy, the smoker was outside, but did not seem to be on but it was still a great photo piece and helped to draw people in. I would highly recommend this BBQ Joint to anyone looking for Great Value BBQ in Yorkshire as so far these are the best I have tried and I have tried a few in the last year or so.

Great range of food, a definite must got for meat lovers and people wanting to explore their taste buds.We had there variant of a donut burger and a pretzel bun pulled chicken sandwhich. Both were delicious and the pretzel bun had a good tangy spice to counteract the sweetness of the donut burger

Excellent service, great drink, good food but a bit over priced for what it is... Would I go again? Probably yes... But Id order something different as the plate share was £19.99 for some fried pickles, fried mac and cheese, 4 wings and fried cauliflower the 2onion rings were added on at £2.00 extra
