Reber-Thomas Dining Hall - Canteen in Lynchburg, United States
Has unlimited coffee.
Absolutely disgusting, rudest service ever. Staff looks annoyed that I even dare ask to order anything at all. The dish return smell lingers throughout the facility and is sure to make you vomit anything you just had. Avoid breakfast here at all costs! The eggs are liquid and you can watch your custom omlette to order being made as it falls out of the questionable ziploc bag. Not to mention, please ensure you have at least an hour to wait in lines here as Liberty continues to accept more people without expanding dining options and/or staffing them properly.Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
Food selection was pretty lame. I hear they are having shortages so maybe thats why..
All varieties of food for all tastes. Great atmosphere with worship music in the background. Kind and friendly staff always courteous to your requests. Love it!
There food is pretty good. My son is now going here and raves about how excellent the food is
Amazing selection of foods. Friendly staff. Food was pretty good for a college dining hall. MUCH better than what I had at college. I am glad my son will be eating there while at school. The staff serving the food and doing clean-up are quite friendly. Much more so than at other cafeterias I have eaten at.
I enjoy seeing the students and getting to know them and about their culture
Liberty Universitys dining hall has excellent food and the servers were friendly.
Good food - typical university life style feel and atmosphere...👍
This is a self serve cafeteria style dining area at Liberty University. Huge selection of food including an allergen free dining area.
Very good food, great variety. Looking forward to our son attending Liberty this fall.
The experience of a lifetime!! I get to go every day and it never gets old. From the time Ms. Robin greets you as you swipe in to the time you look back longingly as you walk out, the rot is an experience you absolutely cannot miss. And not just that... its a community like no other. And such variety... exquisite cuisine you cant just find anywhere. You go in sad and leave happy because you know you are cared for. I only dream of bringing someone as much joy as the rot brings me.Love,Sally Sappington#Cancelthenewrot
As far as college dining halls go, its pretty good! The choices, though not the highest quality, are plentiful.
If you can’t find something to eat here, you are far too picky!! So many options and choices with lots of seating!!
In Fall 2021, came by the university and visited the campus. The lunch was like $11, and after 2:30 PM the Lite Meal was $7.5 although there was less choices but all drink and food buffet.
The food is okay… sometimes it’s great, and other times the meat is raw and everything is soaked in gross oil. There aren’t many places to charge your laptop or phone. It is an okay place to meet friends though. Wouldn’t recommend, but it’s available for college kids who need food.
Might get better moving forward, first day I came here I was greeted by rude security and separated from my property. The food is solid though
Wow! I highly recommend it here! They had almost every kind of food you could think of. I loved everything here 💗
Revert Thomas or "the Rot" has a great selection of different cuisine and deserts. The only problem is the quality of foods used is questionable and the preparation of meets very amature.
Affectionately called "The ROT" for a reason. Starts out good; then its okay...and then itll turn on you.Its my go-to campus spot for something light and relatively healthy (salad bar fare), but a lot of the prepared foods are overcooked, overseasoned, and heavy. They do tilapia pretty well.
Huge food choice including vegetarian along with a separate hallway and serving center for folks with food allergies. The place is all you can eat. Only one staff member at the omlet bar was rude and condensending. She was reported.
Really good food! Lots of people here almost all the time.
You.Have.To.Try.The.Scrambled.Eggs. They are the best. Rest of the food is decent too, especially when the parents come. All you can eat buffet, essentially.
Food is mediocre, occasionally youll find something great or something below average. Quality aside, theres plenty of options, though theyre not always open. Operating at half capacity for Covid, which may make it difficult to find a table. Staff are friendly, building is clean. Some but not all food options, vegan is available but not orthodox religious diets (kosher, halal, etc). You can obviously avoid those foods, but if you require something approved by a rabbi, I recommend finding somewhere else.
Was a student at the University for two semesters. Food at the dining hall (or The Rot as we students call itis really good for a dining hall. Some meals are hit or miss, but the majority of foods are consistently good quality. In a year of eating there every day, I have never come across something that I would normally like, but didnt. Its not your mamas home cooking, but its good enough, and I didnt feel at any time like I was tired of it. Also, the dessert and pastries Im sure are made by a retired angel who used to bake for God in heaven. 4.5 stars, if youre a student, PLEASE for Petes sake take advantage of the resource that this place is.
So i ordered a sandwich and then they decided to drench it in pizza sauce. Idk if they were trying to get rid of extra pizza sauce or the workers were just going rogue because i did not ask for sauce on it. Im also allergic to tomatoes so i couldnt eat it.
Visited as a guest. Less than 12 bucks for dinner. Incredible food selection and average/acceptable quality. Park in the garage nearby for free after 4pm. Was able to spread out and do some work while I was here. Active atmosphere. Would return again if very hungry.
Foods good, when you can fight the crowd and get to it. Ive received my omelette undercooked several times now, and the staff are usually very rude.
Security is terrible... I snuck in without them knowing. Would be five stars, but the food is nasty. The area was quiet enough but quickly ruined by the screech of the cleaning lady. Also pube hairs...
If you get the chance to visit LibertyUniversity in Lynchburg, VA, this isTHE PLACE to eat! Value is great! Many types of food from different countries offered in their huge buffet.Everyone was very Nice & helpful!
Good food, not high quality but there are a lot of options and the majority of the food is good. Good dessert selection usually. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff.
Best place to eat in Lynchburg. Going on a fancy date? Need to feed the family? Got to catch food quickly before you get to your underwater basket weaving class? Go to the reber-Thomas dining hall and enjoy top class gourmet cuisine.
This has been some of THE BEST college cafeteria/ dinning hall food that I have every had. If I was a student and could afford to.....I would eat there every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! If the kids are NOT eating there by choice or are very picky, then they are missing out!
Visiting with my son for a campus tour. We were given free food vouchers. Wow, the food is very good with so many options you dont have to worry about your child not eating while at school.
The Reber-Thomas dining hall, affectionately called "The Rot" ,is a place I look forward to returning to whenever I have the opportunity to visit the campus of Liberty University.Well were there for the Winterfest 2018 and had the opportunity to have several meals there. It is spacious and well la yes out. The food is superb, better than a number of restaurants I have been to. They were ranked #1 in the country two of the last three years. Special events usually have a limited staff and limited offerings compared to when school is in session, but everyone can usually find something satisfactory, even those with dietary restrictions. No visit to Lynchburg is quite complete unless I can have a meal there. I highly recommend and look forward to my next visit there.Be forewarned, throwing bananas on the roof of the dining hall is frowned upon by the Liberty University Police Department.
The food was delicious & prepared to suit your individual taste buds. The staff and students are conscientious, helpful, and driven to provide quality food and an open fellowship atmosphere. They are also spiritually open to serve the Lord (and you too).
I ate here a lot when I was a student at Liberty. The food was pretty good for a college cafeteria. While the pizza was nothing to get exited about (still better than Dominosthe main dish was always good and the new Mongolian bbq was really good.
Disgusting food almost all the time I avoid it as much as I can. It can be good but you never know until its too late. Last time I went I got a burger that was so undercooked I almost threw up
Liberty University in Lychburg VA is "The Best University in The World". Reber- Thomas Dining is " The Best Cafeteria in The World". I loved Cafeteria, "Reber- Thomas Dining", Wow is Amazing, Delicious and Healthy food. Every employees is sweet, lovely, humble and friendly. Thank you Liberty University! 5 🌟
They don’t tend to clean the floors a whole lot... I slipped on a mess on the floor last month and broke my wrist. Overall, the food is decent for a college dining hall.
First off, like many other posts remember this is a college campus dining hall. Quality is not going to be their first priority, it’s feeding the 5-8K people a day, multiple times. If you go during the right time, it’s got a ton of choices. (Meh time is 3-5pm rangeNot all of the choices are horrendous, but there are some you steer clear from. If something just doesn’t look fabulous, you don’t have to eat it and you can move on to a different selection. And while yes the staff could be a liiiiiittle less grumpy while they smash the plate with eggs every morning, I do understand Liberty students can be uptight sometimes. Lastly is the price, students swipe right in, though tuition isn’t cheap ;). If you are a parent or visitor it’s gonna cost $13 to get in. But think in an average meal, you can get 2 plates full, a drink(refilled!), and coffee and more. This you can do all that 70x7 times :D
This main dining hall based off of Liberty University camouflage Located in the heart of the college campus. The hours are 6am to 11pm at night which for a college campus dining hall the hours there self are nothing less than great! Pay options are Liberty University cash (Flame Bucks), Cash, and Card. Great eating options from pizza to grill, breakfast, MTO, Spicy, and even sushi options.
Food-court layout with foods ranging from Chinese to sushi to pizza to mashed potatoes with gravy. Its not bad for a college campus, pretty good service, decent food, fantastic variety, but definitely not perfect. Occasionally get meat that is so dry I can hardly bite it, but sometimes the meat so juicy its falling off the bone so its really hit or miss. Also they sometimes suck at wraping burritos.
Food is almost always excellent. Can get repetitive, but far less so than most restaurants would be if they were visited for every meal. Service is someone grumpy or slow, which I find to be the reason there arent five stars
Chocolate milk is a solid 5/7. If you dont know what that means you shouldnt be eating in a college cafeteria.
Visited Liberty University for a campus tour. Best college or university dining facility Ive been in. Top notch selection and quality. Would have earned that fifth star if they hadnt been out of straws.
Love the food, better than your average cafeteria. The Mongolian grill line is usually long, but its good. Make sure youre specific with what you want, because if you dont mention you want either chicken or fish, you probably wont get any haha.
Our family of 5 had late lunch during Freshmen move in day. Only a few serving areas were open, but we still enjoyed the food we received and at a fair price. Therefore, I give 4 stars.
I love this place! There is so much food to choose from, and everyone is very friendly. Loads of dessert and healthy food coffees and ice creams, I recommend this all day long.
I mean, its a college cafeteria, so obviously no ones expecting the quality of a Cheesecake Factory. But the foods fresh, we now get Coke, and theres enough variety for even the pickiest of eaters. #goflames
