Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park - Park and Garden in Campbell River, Canada
Great place for a walk, picnic on the beach. Watch storms roll in. Its for beauty!
Lots of parking.Nice setting with picnic tables overlooking water
LOVE this place! Still pinching myself that we get to walk these shores every day. Paradise found.
Our favorite place to camp, been there several times and we usually see whales passing by or if ur lucky it will come up inside the cove. Great campsites clean washrooms
A very peaceful place. Rest, relax and enjoy the connection with nature.
Spent a couple of hours at this wonderful area..beautiful driftwood on the beach..lovely trail to hike and even got to whale watch right off the beach..dont miss this this fabulous spot !! 😀
Good shaded walking trail that is relatively flat. Beautiful sunsets here.
What a great place for a dip in the island - what is so warm (relatively speaking!)
Went twice for an hour long walk here each time. Nice place to spend time alone, as a couple or with a group of friends.
Walked our dogs everyday. Saw orcas seals and bald eagles. Stayed in thunderbird rv
Saw humbacks leap out of the water while strolling the east side of the spit.
Great family camping or even just a day trip
Awesome views and great weather
Such an amazing spot, swimming in the water there overlooking the spit with the tall trees and the Vancouver Island mountains in the back still covered in snow, not many spots like that anywhere else.
Beautiful park along the spit. Rocky beach with driftwood and a view of the mountains on one side and a calm beach for swimming or paddling on the other.
Beautiful views and meandering trails make Rebecca spit provincial park enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities.
Very beautiful place! Great place for family outings. Lots of things to see. We saw an adult bald eagle teaching it’s child to fly in the gusty wind!
Absolutely love this place. Raw beauty looking east across the water. Rain. Wind. Logs. Rocks. Seals. Whales. Eagles. Gulls. Bring it on! Bring it all!!
A great place for a real gulf islands vista..driving around the island is boring but walking around the spit gives you some great marine views both an the harbour side and east to Cortes..great way to spend a couple of hours
A great place for a walk. There is a trail that follows the beach line in the trees. Lots of parking and picnic tables. There is a large field beside the farthest parking lot. There is a boat launch with appropriate parking for trailers. There is also a large campground for those wishing to spend a night of more.
Not a bad way to start your day!
In terms of a protected anchorage with scenic walks and wildlife it’s pretty hard to beat. Was woken up this morning by humpbacks sounding close to the boat. Be prepared for people however, boaters and campers alike. The spit provides a nice walk or ride from the campsites.
Beautifully treed walking trails along the ocean create a circle route from the main parking lot to the tip of the Spit. Swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding are popular activities on the Drew Harbour side. Walking south from the first parking lot at the meadow you will encounter a giant Sasquatch made of driftwood - impressive!
Probably one of the nicest Provincial parks in British Columbia. While it is small, you can have a very easy 5 kilometre walk through old growth Coastal Douglas Fir forest, a naturalizing ecosystem and extensive variety of flora. In addition, the bird life - from eagles to chickadees - leaves you feel like walking in a jungle. Plus you have ocean and harbour on either side of the trail. If you are lucky, youll see or hear a humpback whale breach.
Rebecca Spit is truly a treasure. The beaches on the bay side are sandy with tons of picnic tables - a terrific spot for families. On the Salish Sea side the pristine beach is covered with amazing beach rocks and driftwood. The views of the Discovery Islands are breathtaking and the water is so clear you can see rocks through the waves. This is my new happy place.
Rebecca Spit Provincial Park is just a short drive from the ferry terminals from Vancouver Island or Cortez Island. On one side of the narrow strip of land is Heriot Bay which offers quiet waters for swimming, kayakers and family picnics. There were several boats moored out in the bay adding to how pretty the area is. On the other side of the spit are stunning views of other islands, the distant mountains and ocean wildlife such as seals, sea lions, and if you are lucky whales and dolphins. There are several parking lots, outhouse style washrooms and benches can be found at various spots along the path. This is an easy walk along wide dirt and stone paths and mostly flat ground. There are a few areas where there are exposed tree roots but this is a walk that should be able to be enjoyed by most. There are picnic tables in certain spots on both sides of the spit. The beaches are rocky with lots of lovely driftwood however signs are posted advising nothing is to be removed from the park. I highly recommend walking the length of the spit!
Best beach in the island! Beautiful walk, plenty of parkings, pit toilets available.Don’t come back without finishing the walk in the spit! Loved every bit of it!❤️❤️
Beautiful scenery. You can see Read island and the Bretons. Good walk and spot to swim or launch boat.
Great beaches, lovely parks and cool driftwood sculptures. Ideal place to anchor the sailboat or use the campground for a tent or trailer. Minutes from the legendary HBI bar for drinks and live music. Shops for the essentials just around the corner. Pictured below is the Drifted Creations artist Alex Witcombe with his sasquatch feature on the eastern shoreline of Rebecca Spit.
Amazing sunsets, long beach, walking trails, warm water for swimming and some time to relax ...and make buns on board SV Talisman IV
Beautiful place protected from the wind on one side...duo water conditions at the spit
Beautiful walk. Eagles deer and even a Sasquatch (ok its made of driftwood). A great place to anchor a boat , pitch a tent or go for a paddle board.
Lovely park! Nice walk along the spit, plenty of view spots. There is parking and pit toilets nearby. I biked there from the Heriot Bay campground in about 15 minutes!
There are really nice wide open views at Rebecca. Its interesting to have a shoreline on both sides of the beach trail. Also at the other parking lot is the wonderful Sasquatch driftwood creation that is well worth checking out.
One of the most beautiful small provincial parks I have ever visited. At points of so narrow you can see both bodies of water at the same time. And a few beautiful light trails as well.
Wonderful walk through a forested natural spit. Gravel beach.
We had a wonderful afternoon at Rebecca Spit Park today. My friend Tracey made a delicious picnic lunch. After lunch we walk down a trail to look at the "Sasquatch." We enjoyed looking at the pretty beach stones. We went to gift stores and The Crows Nest Gallery. Great things to see.Tracey took us around the inland. Quadra Isl. is always a feel good place.
Aug6/2019. Been here many times because it’s a fantastic place to anchor or if your camping to just hangout. One of the best places to get some fantastic shots.I like the north east side for the mountains. While we were there the whales were very active and we could see them feeding and then surfacing for air.Have fun and play safe.
Lovely! Great place to take the family for the day. Close enough to the ferry terminal that you could cycle to it if you want, as we saw a few people doing. Well groomed trails if you just feel like a bit of easy hiking. Long pebble and shell beaches, with sun bleached driftwood. Even some driftwood that has managed to assemble itself into interesting shapes - like a sasquatch! Dog friendly.
Amazing. There are some nice trails along the water and in the woods. You can even see a Sasquatch made out of Driftwood and if you walk a little further you could see a wolf made out of driftwood. Theres also a beautiful Memorial. This morning we woke up to two hump back whales near our boat. RV and tent being available. Park ranger said park closes at 9:30 p.m. We werent sure what part of the park closes as we came by boat.
I like this place. Good for kids and good for walkers .Very clean place thanks to park rangers! We appreciate for that!
Really beautiful spot perfect for a nice stroll! Picnic tables available if you want to stop for a lunch in the park.
A lovely park that allows visitors to explore the natural wonders of the Salish Sea. On one side, the tumultuous sea crashes on the shore. On the other side, a sheltered cove welcomes water sport enthusiasts. Come for a picnic and enjoy an easy hike out to the end of the spit. Birds sing in the trees and the beach produces treasures with each tide.
A wonderful place for a walk out to the end of the Spit. The views all around are simply magnificent! The trail hugs the shoreline on both the bay side and the open ocean side of the park and takes you though quiet tranquil forest sections as well as right to the shoreline. A must visit place if you are ever on Quadra Island!
Park is big with plenty of spots to walk, run, sit, and just about anything. Not crowded. People were a nice and friendly.
Such a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.
Beautiful, great place to camp with family and friends.
Beautiful place for a walk or swimming.
Beautiful beaches and soooo much driftwood!
Absolutely beautiful spot! Great for swimming and boating. This part of Quadra Island feels like paradise!
