Super funny with good music and a great vibe

I had a fun time. Its a karaoke 🎤 bar, or at least on the evening I was there, it was. There were a few song choices that shifted the mood but that can be expected when at a karaoke. It started off slow, both vibe and music, but this quickly picked up and ended up being a jol 🕺. Our waiter Lucas was so attentive and friendly. He was quick to advise of the specials and kept the drinks coming, just the way I like it. Turned out to be quite a lekker place. Will definitely do it again when in Joburg 🏙.

It was my first time ever and all I can say is I am about to drag every one of my friends here. It was Karoake night which happens on Sundays and Wednesdays and it was absolutely epic. You get all types of people mostly the younger crowd and everybody is just there to have a jol. Highly, highly recommended. If an antisocial like me loves it, it must be worth trying.

Ratz has affordable drinks, friendly staff and always brings a good vibe. Definitely be back for more

What a Vibe. Definitely the place to visit in Melville, Johannesburg. The party really gets going at Ratz Bar. I had so much fun joling the night away at Ratz. The manager Chad made sure I felt like a VIP the whole night. DJ_floyed played a master set and had the whole bar on their feet the entire time. The Luxo Gin Girl and the Lavida Vodka Girl made sure the shots were flying and party was banging right from the start. Cant wait to get back to Ratz for another hectic party session. The crowd was so friendly and awesome I forgot I was partying with strangers who now are friends.

The place has such great energy.Kareokee nights Wednesdays and Sundays are worth trying.Drinks fairly priced.Bathrooms are clean as wellThe waitres n waitresses are very friendly and welcoming.The place is a bit small in area though

Be aware of criminals targeting your valuables. Do not go there with your phone/car keys/wallet in your pocket. The staff also have a nonchalant attitude towards theft happening inside the venue which is indicative of a persisting problem at the venue. Also be aware when ordering drinks where your drinks end up at. Twice in one evening I ordered and paid for drinks which was served to other patrons.It is a good bar with good prices and a really good vibe though. It gets really busy late in the evening and the people that frequent the bar are friendly and welcoming.

Karaoke was fun to watch - gets quite full so space to sit is quite tight. overall a cool place to go.

Sunday karaoke is back and brilliant.The first Sunday of the month is karaoke night. We travel from Pretoria to take part. There are some really good singers, good atmosphere and a very mixed crowd.Half price cocktails till 8pm.

Really cool place in a lively part of Melville. Some nights theres a jukebox where you can pay about R5 to choose your own songs. Friendly staff, really relaxed atmosphere, and it reminds me of a jazz bar - in an old building with those ornate ceilings, and rad paintings of rats. Great place!

Not enough security, saw someones phone get snatched yesterday evening by a guy who was definitely in the bar, probably checking out targets!

Ratz always has the best music on the strip, the staff are attentitive and friendly and the place has a great vibe.

After a little salsa and bachata pay Ratz a visit. The karaoke is not bad and the crowd is quite lively. All in all you could land up having a good time in a place you never expected.

Pretty good place with a good vibe. Drinks are quite expensive however, and the music isnt exactly to my taste.

The places around Melville arent really my vibe but still had a great time Ill definitely be going out here more often.

Great place, love to go there all the time. Fantastic cocktail specials. Quick service, cheaper than any other bar nearby and lively as can be. Would recommend going there. Bar food is great for late nights. One of the places along the famous street that has to be visited again and again.

Awesome atmosphere, waiters are realy friendly and helpful, and its karaoke on Wed and happy hours is between 7 and 8. Only draw back is that its a small venue.
