Rascals Tavern in Greensboro

Disappointed in the lack of service we received when showing up. We didn’t get a chance to eat because the woman who “greeted” us was very rude and made us feel a bit out of place. It’s a shame because I’ve heard great things about their food.

It really did live up to the hype. My better half and myself was not disappointed. She had chicken and waffles and I had the hot honey fried chicken biscuit. We also shared the breakfast tacos. They serve bottomless mimosas for $18 for 90 minutes. The food is pricey but worth it.

They offer a couple daily menu specials. My menu selection was good w pleasant mix of flavors.

Hands down BEST Reuben ever! Outstanding service, food quality impressive . Chef Jessica is superb.

Not what you might expect from the outside...the service was well above average for Greensboro...the food was good...the outside looks like a neighborhood bar...but its actually a foodie hot spot...give it a try...youll be impressed

Greeting was nice. People are friendly. Prices were good. Food was good............just nothing outstanding. Ingredients were good but combos didnt jive on some of the menu items. Bleu cheese on shrimp tacos?We plan to go back and give it another try. I like supporting local and nice people.

What a hidden gem! We had the meatloaf sandwich and the Reuben---both were delicious and I would order them again. The sides we had were mac and cheese (so rich, so good!and potatoe salad (creamy and tasty). My friend and I shared everything since it was all so good!! It has a nice, mellow vibe; good music playing. The chef/owner came out and was very nice. We will definitely go back.

This place is good but the prices are crazy high for what you get and the location. I wouldn’t mind the higher prices if they changed locations and the set up. Thankfully they are located near a bank. I will be back once my loan clears.

The food was great! Had brunch with niece and her friends. All dishes looked really yummy and the taste of food was great. Food seasoned well.

Found this place on our way home from WF. Great folks, great service, and really great food. The menu here is not the norm, but there is something for everyone on it, and the food is really good. Portion size vs price is excellent, atmosphere is relaxing and fun. Staff is very friendly and helpful, service is great. They do take reservations, we just happened in, and found a place at the bar. Definitely worth the stop!!!!

This lil place has big ambiance, we loved it! The endless mimosas were were really good and the food and the service are calling me back. I had the lamp chops from the Easter menu and I really should have ordered a to go plate( that goodand the blubbery cake dessert was to die for. I endorse RASCALS😍😋

Came here for the recommended charcuterie board and was extremely disappointed, when it came with deli sliced cheese and a ball of mozzarella. It just didnt mix well with the other offerings that were included. Everything else about this place was great, wait staff were on top of it, and the place had good vibes. I would maybe consider trying other dishes out, but I was too depressed about the cheese to continue to order dinner.

Cute little tarvern with a very lively atmosphere.Service was a tad slow but we were chilled.We were a group of 4. Ordered mimosas and three of us had breakfast tacos which were good even though sausage was on the crispy side.Other person in our party ordered veggie Florentino which looked delicious and the chef/owner brought it to our table.Overall , a cute place for breakfast, brunch or dinner.Since venue is so small, recommend that you make a reservation.

Went tonight just on some need to get out, they was about to close but still waited on me like we had all the time in the world ...I got the ribeye that was on special...I must say it is the best food I have had eating out since I moved here 3 years ago from Baltimore....definitely will be back..a big thanx to the whole team that was there tonight...

This little spot is a gem! I’ve been here for dinner and brunch. Both times were amazing. The food, atmosphere and service are all things that make this place so wonderful. The menu has some “favorite” dishes with their own little twist on it so you’re guaranteed to find something. The bottomless mimosas for brunch are a huge win! It’s somewhat small inside so reservations are recommended. Oddly enough, that’s another thing I like about it! Hands down one of my favorite spots in Greensboro. I definitely recommend trying it out!

First time going for brunch! Delicious!! Everything that came out the kitchen looked and tasted great! Recommend you have a reservation as it gets busy.

Had the best ribeye I’ve had in a while! Compliments to the chef and owner. Also family friendly, I called ahead of time and asked for a reservation for 2 adults, toddler, and infant. Thank you for the accommodations. The food was incredible and it didn’t take a very long time. Everything was fresh. Highly recommend.

Im going to start off with the fact that MOST of my reviews are positive, leaving very few in the negative category. Ive visited Rascals Tavern 3 times and the first two trips there were acceptable, one being almost their opening weekend and a second within their first year of operation. So I went there tonight with my significant other and I will say they were very accommodating considering the busy weekend. I will also go ahead and say the service was quick and acceptable. The problem? The 2 star rating? Well, it has to do with the food and the lack-luster attempt to rectify an obvious negative experience. We ordered Calamari which was simply OK, until you factor in the price... I had the "Better than Reuben with a side of asparagus. The sandwich filler was ok but the bread was insanely hard, I think I chipped a molar; twice. I ended up ripping about 20% of the bread apart simply to make it chew-able. As for the asparagus, I received 5.....You read that right, 5 pieces of floppy, soft, cold asparagus; sagging out of a copper mug used for Moscow Mules. They were sad. As for the girlfriend, she ordered a very simple BLT, hold the tomato and add/charge for extra bacon with a side of french fries.. The sandwich came out with one half containing maybe 3 burnt pieces of bacon and the other half void of any bacon. It was a piece of bread with lettuce. The fries were average except for the abundance of salt which made them difficult to eat. During our meal the staff noticed my difficulty chewing through the brick hard bread after watching me peel 20% of the bread off, and later asked the girlfriend how her BLT was. The staff was able to see that half the sandwich was void of bacon.. So what did the staff do? NOTHING. We left with a $70 bill plus the tip. Now to be fair, and to be repetitive; They were fast and the did accommodate on a busy weekend being valentines; But I am sorry, this was a $30 dollar meal at best. For the owner, Please dont respond with some sort of offer to come back; we wont. My review is both positive and honest.

First time there was a great experience. Its a quaint little place so make reservations. The poutine was exceptional and the sausage was way too much but messy and delicious! Plus, every dish I saw go bye was equally appealing (looking at you nachos, queso and fried deviled eggs). Cant wait to get back.

Great value for the mimosas and they were definitely strong. Customer service was good either one employees seemed a bit apprehensive. They have quite an interesting menu; not the norm. Nevertheless the food was good. The interior is pretty crowded with seats close together in an already small area. I would recommend trying it out.

We were in town for a soccer tournament and needed a place to eat between games. Our first impression wasn’t great when we saw the cluttered exterior in a strip mall complex, but once we went inside we felt comfortable in the cozy interior.I had an eggs benedict and my wife had the eggs and biscuit. My benedict was delectable and her biscuit was better than expected. It was a huge homemade biscuit that was flaky and buttery with a nice crust on the bottom preventing it from getting soggy. We also indulged ourselves with the bottomless mimosas to “rehydrate”.We will return next time we are in town.

Great spot off of Golden Gate dr. We enjoyed a delicious brunch. The breakfast burrito was super yummy. I can’t wait to go for the bottomless mimosas.

This was my husband and myself first visit here on yesterday. We are from S.C. The staff was all so nice and friendly. Very clean restaraunt and rest room. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and Fries. It was so, so umph delicious. Very wise choice. My husband ordered the Rascal Burger. Oh my goodness he raved so much about how delicious the burger tasted. He wanted one to go but said hell wait until we return.

Not a great experience. Made reservations beforehand, but waited 5-10 minutes to be greeted. One of us ordered an omelet that was dry & spongy. I ordered the fried green tomato benedict. The presentation was okay but the food was bland and gave me sour stomach.The birthday girl had the Rascal’s burger, medium, it came out overcooked/burnt so we requested a replacement. When the new burger came out, the patty was cooked decently, but the bun was completely charred.Not sure if they were having an off day or what but this wasn’t the experience we were expecting from this restaurant.

I tried this place for the first time last night. I was actually impressed that it wasnt as loud as I thought it was gonna be with the open concept and cement floors. This is a small bar that serves food. We had the quest dip appetizer which was fantastic and I had the rascal burger and fries and he had the Cuban. My burger was good and he loved his Cuban. Its a place youd go for a quick bite nothing fancy just good food..And the owner came out and asked us how everything was which was a nice touch.

Just overall disappointing. Server walked away after only taking drink orders from 2 out of the 3 of us. Had to call her back to take the third drink order. She literally just walked away without asking everyone what they wanted to drink. I ordered a BLT with cheddar, she informed me the BLT comes with pimento (not listed on menuand I was excited for pimento. My sandwich came with no cheese at all and had to wait over 5 minutes for a side of pimento. Meanwhile the aoli had made the bread too soggy to pick up by the time the cheese arrived. Friend ordered biscuit with sausage gravy. The gravy was broken and was just a pool of grease separated from cream. Looked nasty, she said it was like eating grease. Barely ate a 1/4 of it. Quiet spot, cool decor, but theres a reason it was half empty on a Saturday at noon. Kitchen definitely needs some better quality cooks.

Such an unexpected find! We were looking for some outdoor dining options and were struggling. Everything was closed early due to staffing shortages or was booked up until 9 PM. So, Ill admit we had somewhat low expectations of Rascals, located in a non-descript strip mall-style shopping center. We were wrong in the best way.This food was beyond amazing - the chef is truly gifted. We chose from the specials menu, which was an Asian foods theme. The potstickers had already sold out and we chose the sea bass curry. It was seriously world-class. High quality, perfectly cooked, combined to great success with coconut rice and cabbage. We couldnt stop raving - we feel lucky we happened upon it. Now well definitely seek it out next time were in town.

Was craving a wedge salad and someone turned me onto this place Id have never known about. Placed a takeout order. Went to pick up and I really enjoyed the atmosphere while I was waiting. The soft lighting and intimate setting were amazing and unexpected. Such a cozy little spot. The diners seemed like regulars and the staff seem to win over people instantly and have a nice rapport. Bottle of Jlohr came in clutch to complete my takeout order. When I think of a wedge my mind always goes to outbacks but Im so glad I tried a local restaurant instead. I also applaud the owner for placing this little gem in the shopping center they did. Greensboro does not need to continue cramming more restaurants into downtown + wendover+near friendly. Lets please continue investing into other areas!

Visited this evening for my first time. My husband and I were fortunate enough to meet the head chef who was very pleasant and described all the specials. Service was excellent and food was even better! We noticed a table was sectioned off with 13 beers poured in remembrance of our 13 fallen Marines in Afghanistan this week which was so touching. We will definitely be back! What a hidden gem!!!

Great hole in the wall local restaurant/bar! Fresh tasty food and great service. Even though and understandably they were out of and short on some menu items we tried to order (not to mention every other restaurant for that matterwe still enjoyed ourselves and the food. Overall great place and would definitely recommend. Also the fried green tomatoes were Amazing!!! So good I couldnt take a picture 😋. Below is the grilled chicken salad, others had the buffalo chicken sandwich and the meatloaf sandwich, I tasted and were delicious!!!

Most restaurants claim fall off the bone ribs. They lie! But Rascals Tavern had fall off the bone ribs as a daily special. Best ribs I ever had. And the sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus were delicious. Friendly staff. We had a party of 13 and everything everyone ordered was excellent.

Excellent!!! Its not a large restaurant but they do accept reservations which I would strongly suggest. Check Facebook for featured entrees. The food is top notch and so is the staff. Definitely going back!!

Update!!!! April 4Best food and staff in town! They did it again!! We spent Easter morning with the best staff and brunch in town.March 28th- We showed up unannounced on a Sunday for brunch. This was our first time and they fit us in before it became real busy. Apparently they have a tremendous reservation list for brunch on Sunday.We started out with a Bloody Mary for me and cranberry mimosa for her. Awesome!!My wife had an omelette with veggies and I had the breakfast burrito, along with a side of grits.The burrito was way more than I expected. It came with a spicy queso/pico sauce. Best one I have ever had.Her omelette was cook perfectly and was delicious!We made reservations for our next trip!Staff was very attentive and friendly.So far the best breakfast in Greensboro!

HIDDEN GEM. Yall, dont pass this little place by! From the outside, it looks like a dive bar. It is far from that - the food and service are exceptional. The chef (who I think owns the place?is INCREDIBLE. Every single morsel was mouth-watering and the presentation was beautiful. It was one of best meals I have had in Greensboro in a laid back environment. Food rivals even places like printworks and Green Valley Grill but with a more relaxed vibe. We will be back. I brought leftovers home (I went with my sisterand my husband requested we have our next date night there because the LEFTOVER scallops and risotto cakes were the best he had ever tasted! The staff is marvelous - friendly, professional, and attentive. The gals who took care of us had a team effort and exceeded all of our expectations. Our new favorite place to eat.

I had an excellent time here, the staff was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I didnt even look at a drink menu, just gave a quick explanation of what I was looking for and she knocked it out of the park. The food was delicious. I definitely recommend and plan to return. Honestly I wish I had tried it before, Ive passed by it a 1000 times a didnt even realize it was there.

Went with a few girlfriends today for brunch, we had different dishes so we could try them all. Steaks and eggs, chicken and waffles and some breakfast steak tacos, not to mention the crisp bottomless mimosas. Katie was wonderful and Jess is a phenomenal chef. Rascals is a top notch restaurant with awesome food and a fun hip environment. Go check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Exquisite! Visiting from Atlanta, we have the highest expectations when dining out. Rascals exceeded with incredible food, divine hand-crafted cocktails, and exquisite desserts. The service was impeccable and artfully conducted. My medical doctor wife has very high standards for dining safety during COVID-19. Rascals provided the safest outdoor dining experience that we have experienced in the past six months with a private table, tans, and excellent care.

This was our first time to go there to eat. We did a brunch and all three of us loved our dishes. The service was great and the Tavern has a cool feel to it. We will be coming back soon for dinner. Also this will be a place we take our out of town friends and family to

Consistently great food, very personable staff, the dining Room has been set up for social distanceing and I love the patio seating options. The smoked old fashion and the blue cheese wedge are always my favorites along with the bread pudding French toast.

Amazing atmosphere, friendly waiters, Great bartender. Food is amazing and fresh! The girl playing music when we went was amazing not to loud you could still talk, but over all great place to eat will be back!

My husband and I stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and found the restaurant mostly full. What we were greeted with were sparse TVs on the wall, which I loved, and the promise of bottomless mimosas. This is no fast order greasy spoon. There are entrees, cohesive and thoroughly-considered entrees, not a long checklist of breakfast foods.I had been forewarned about a perhaps overbearing-ness of drizzles here, reductions there, vinaigrettes everywhere. So I ordered my fried green tomato benedict without the berry reduction, and Im glad I did. The Italian meat paired with the hollandaise and green tomato had a slight heat to it that wouldnt pair well with an acidic reduction, and it was super tasty. The hollandaise was maybe too sparse but with the runny yolks of the PERFECTLY POACHED EGGS, it was satisfying. Oh, I also ordered a side of grits and they came with cheese (thank you jesusand tasted so creamy that I marveled about whether they had actually been boiled in heavy cream or buttermilk instead of water or 2%. My husband ordered the steak omelet and it was the size of his whole skull. It disappeared, entirely.The service was excellent and engaging. I also noticed that they stock some really tasty whiskeys at the bar, too. These peopl know their food. Dont be deceived by the seemingly odd location and name, this is a really great foodie experience. Just be wary of your drizzles.

We went because of an event that was being hosted and fell in love! Regardless of the super busy, very crowded restaurant (due to the eventthe wait staff was attentive. The food was delicious and arrived hot. So many choices of interesting flavors and sauces! There was a musician there playing some really good music - he was fun and entertaining as well...I loved having such fresh flowers on the table. All the food that came out was beautifully presented. We actually got to visit a bit with a lovely young lady that makes the desserts fresh and they were beautiful as well! (although, we were too full to try them. There is an outside patio with heaters; well try that next time.We will definitely be back...probably tomorrow! :)

This place is alright, the chef just does things a little well done. The stir fry we got was charred and the fries were dark brown from being in the fryer for too long. I personally dont like charred or well done food, but if you dont mind then its perfect. I did enjoy the live music though.

One of the best restaurants in Greensboro! We went Saturday afternoon before Mother’s Day and there weren’t a lot of people so we got a table but it’s a very small place and they recommend reservations and next time we go I will make reservations to guarantee us a table. We ordered fried green tomatoes, poutine, fried devil eggs, devils on horseback and a New York sandwich. Everything was delicious but the devils on horseback, wow, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Definitely recommend this place, definitely make reservations and definitely go!!

2nd time here. Really like this place. Small yet cozy with a great looking bar and outstanding service and employees who do nothing but profess their love of their jobs and the skill of the chef/owner. Marty waited on us and could not have been nicer or any more professional. Food was outstanding as usual. Portions arent huge but they are so well made and creatively plated. If the bar in Cheers were a restaurant [and real] it would be this place. If that makes no sense please know that is a compliment. Go here. Enjoy yourself.

Cozy little tavern fairly new with a nice flare; warm colors, wood panel walls and good food. The good: Scotch Eggs! Hard to find and chefs all over serve them as differently as there are types of sausage. Instead of soft boiled hole eggs, Rascals serves them hard boiled and halved. The sausage casing crumbles around the egg and the chef incorporates local southern sausage; the dish is topped off with a delicious sauce and greens. The bratwurst were good and true to the regional yankee style but my guest found that the spiced mustard overpowered the meat....hes a purest. However he was impressed with the authentic casing. He loved the grilled asparagus! The Cleveland was tasty. Full of Cleveland style kraut and well flavored kielbasa, topped with 2 cut fries. Served on half loaf and at first I thought it was an opened faced Sandwich but I gave it a Cleveland Browns try and dove in!The improves: Would have liked to have had more meat (not halvedon a longer roll vs both pieces on one half. It made it very hard to eat and messy. And if your gonna put french fries on a Sandwich dont put just two fries. Your gonna want to use your fork to catch the awesome kraut left behind. As for the bratwurst, offer mustard on the side to please the purest but other then that it was great. My yankee father in-law will come back to tray again!Bottom Line: GSO needs a tavern like this that appreciates places like the Westside Market and wants to bring some of that taste here to Greensboro because we NEED IT! I hope the chef is open to suggestions and continues to grow her menu and customer base. Were fans!!!

Drawn here by their excellent reviews and creative menu items. I came away mostly impressed with their food but concerned for their future. The kitchen looked well staffed but the lone waitress/bartender trying to serve the 20 or so customers was run ragged. She did keep her smile and was very efficient keeping everyone serviced.Our first 3 beer selections were either out or we got the last of the keg, "on the house" which I thought a classy move.My Polish boy sandwich was flavorful and large with a great slaw and bbq sauce. Was told I got the last one available for the day. The fries were spectacular.The wifes New Yorker was wonderful and huge. She got the fries as well and was equally impressed.Im looking forward to trying more of their menu because they really have some creative dished listed. Maybe they were just having a logistical issue with their suppliers the weekend of our visit.Hope so!
