Rare 125 in San Juan

Maybe its because Im European and I have a different standard for a steakhouse, but 1. steak was almost burned on the outside, and had little condiments. 2. service was atrocious, never checked in on how the food was, dropped a plate on the ground while cleaning up a different table, asked what type of alcohol do i want in a gin cocktail. 3. the bathroom was dirty. 4. you cant smoke outside even if theres no one else sitting there.

Best Old Fashion in Miramar, and 7 out of 5 stars in food quality, and service, everything in the menu is excellent

Thank you for this amazing experience. It was our Honeymoon date night and we loved this place. We had the lamb, steak and our waiter suggested the spicy crab - AMAZING!!!

Amazing.We had showed up for an 11-people reservation for my sisters 40th at a *different restaurant* and they were completely closed. We panicked because it was a Friday night at 6:30, but this place accommodated us at last minute with zero issues.The food was amazing.The service was impeccable.Our server Marine was wonderful!!

My group of 8 barely had time to take photos of our food. The food here is just that good. From the appetizers to the main courses, you will not be disappointed. I personally recommend the Beef Mac N Cheese. The best Mac N Cheese Ive had in my life. Ill come back to PR just for this dish. Enjoy!

I don’t normally give less than 5 stars to any business. However, I had such a bad experience with the sitting and the host, that I didn’t had any options. I had to pay $20 per head to reserve a table of 6 people. One being my 2 year old daughter. After arriving 10 minutes before the appointed time 4:00PM, they didn’t sit me until 5PM. The host was not helpful at all. Evasive, not confrontational and didn’t give me any heads up of what was happening. Let’s not mention that it was Mother’s Day. It was a bad taste to start my Mother’s Day dinner like that. Will not recommend because of this experience. However food was excellent and waiter was outstanding.

100% recommend! Having worked at a few top end steak houses through decades... everything from service to portion to timing, temperature and price was outstanding!If you want a high quality meal, seafood or steak, nice priced wine and great atmosphere..... RARE 125 should be your next.

Great food and service. Not too many main course plates at lunch but excellent. The carpaacio and their fries a must.

Everything was great. Great apps, drinks and mains! Everything was cooked well. Steak was the proper temperature. Sides were delicious. Service was excellent as well.

Phenomenal dining experience food was amazing drinks were on point!!! You have to try the shredded beef filet mignon and Mac and cheese it melts in your mouth and its to die for. Chicken breast was so delicious and the filet mignon was incredible. Bartender was awesome!!! If you visit please do not leave without trying the tres leches its the best in Puerto Rico !!!

Overly priced. Small portions. Food was just ok. Nachos consist of about 8 Nachos with roast beef or something thrown on top. Nothing else. No lettuce, tomatoes, or anything. We wasted our money. No one in our group was happy with their meal enough too brag about it. Our bill was $1000 btw.

The 24 oz ribeye was fabulous and big enough to share.

The food from 1 to 10 was maybe 6 , our host was full of tattoos!! And other Artefacto on her face ! , made a reservation 2 days prior got there had to wait 15 min til they make our table , I really don’t recommend this place at all!

It took 3 nights to FINALLY find my favorite meal of our trip here. Oh my dear lord, the salmon + gnocchi dish is INCREDIBLE. Their sides are so delicious. Service is fast and attentive - always on top of our water (& wine, ha!refills. Loved it so much we’re planning to come back tomorrow for lunch or dinner.

The food was amazing and the staff working there was even better. A 10/10 all the way around.

Phenomenal place and atmosphere, the waiter Chris was great. The drink selection was by far the best Ive had since living here. Not to take away from the drinks, but the steak and mashed potatoes were perfect, not to over the top but just perfect.

Went on a whim while in PR for a nice date with the girlfriend. What a great decision. Cocktails, wine selection, carpaccio, Ceasar salad all wonderful. Steaks, we had the filet and the NY, both came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also shared the mushrooms and asparagus(delicious). Ended the night with the tres leches cake and double espressos. Wonderful service as well. We will be back next time we are in PR for sure!

We stopped for a late lunch on the patio. It was great! The eggplant with black bean sauce could have used a little more seasoning, but the empanadas, pulpo, dumplings, and tuna tartar were great. And the drinks...so good!

Oh- em-Gee! What an incredible surprise. This place was recommended to us as the “best steak house in San Juan” and I was skeptical. Those are really big shoes to fit and I must say - this is the best restaurant I’ve tried in San Juan in the last 2-3 years! Husband had filet mignon in au poivre sauce, I had a ridiculously magnificent veal chuleton and both were mind blowing. Quality of the meat, taste, portion, the sides, the sauces, they were all perfectly delicious. Give this place a try! And ask for Nomar to take care of you. Super kind, gentle and knowledgeable. He helped us choose our meals and we were not disappointed!

We loved it here. Went for a birthday dinner!The food was delicious, staff was so kind. We have the filet, spare ribs, halibut, mac n cheese, oh and the most delicious beef dumplings!!Yum. Happy to have eaten here. Thank you.

This is our favorite restaurant in San Juan. The food is always consistent. They have great drinks. My family of 5 and I really enjoy sitting outside. Very conveniently located in Miramar. Great local steakhouse. Why pay double to eat at STK? You can have a better meal, with a little local flavor for half the price.

Group of 5 of us wanted to try this restaurant the night before we set sail on a cruise based on other reviews. Reviews dont do it justice. The food was absolutely cooked perfectly and the wait staff was extremely attentive to our needs. If you are desiring a great night out for food this place will not disappoint. I will highly recommend this to friends who may travel to San Juan. Thank you for an amazing dinner and evening..

It’s a really good steakhouse! We started with raw halibut, thinly sliced, dressed with lime juice jalapeños ginger and topped with pickled pineapple chunks and cream dollops. The marriage if all the flavors was perfect. Our steak arrived plain. The steak was fresh good quality cut meat! It had a perfect grilled flavor well seasoned, perfectly cooked medium well(often places under or overcook it, but this was perfect). The au poverty sauce was on the side. I was expecting a pepper corn beefy flavored sauce, but thus was more like a balsamic reduction. (It was ok to me but my husband liked it in the delicious mashed potatoesI liked that the sauce was not dressed into steak because you San savor the steak flavor by itself. The mashed potatoes were perfect, comfort food. lastly we had the arugula salad with candied walnuts and dried cranberries and blue cheese. It was perfectly lightly dressed. It was also very good.

Went today for dinner with a friend. We both ordered file mignon; mine medium, his rare. I finished my portion in five bites, it was about 3 ounces, or less, about half of the my friends size. Waiter explained is the difference between medium and rare. The huge plate hosting the steak (by the way was coldhad 3 green beans., not even close to the images projected in the web site. All this at a cost of $25.00 plus $9.00 for saute mushrooms (no side included). By the way, saute mushrooms, no taste. Very disappointing, it was my 3rd visit and obviously the last one.

A few weeks ago I was visiting this restaurant. It has a cozy, good music, the waitress service was excellent, the recommendations she gave us based on the menu were very good, the steak was perfect, the food was delicious. I consider it to be one of the few good restaurants in the area. Fully recommended, I will be back more often

Our food was excellent, and the service was flawless. We came here to celebrate a birthday, so we got appetizers, wine, and main courses, and everything was excellent. The wait staff and service was first class. Thank you for making my sisters birthday perfect!

You can never go wrong with this place! Even throughout the pandemic this place has proven to be rock solid when it comes to service, ambiance and food quality. If youre a foodie, youd agree after dining here, that this is a must come back type of place.Marnet did an awesome job at recommending pairing for the steaks and I loved how she even gave me a sample only to be convinced that her Cabernet suggestion (a non Cabernet drinkerwas the best for the filet mignon!Beef Carpaccio is addictive, and forget about the clams!!! I couldve kept ordering more and more and more.

I really liked my experience at Rare 125, I ordered the empanadas de filet mignon ropa vieja as an appetizer. The appetizer was my favorite part of my entire meal. It had amazing flavor! I got the 6oz filet mignon with au poivre sauce on the side. I ordered my steak medium well and it was a little burnt on the outside but I did not mind that. I also got the roasted garlic mashed potato which were so creamy and good. Staff was so attentive and caring and the wait for food was not long at all. It was a wonderful experience overall. I would definitely come back.

The service at rare 125 was good but if your coming here for a steak then don’t do it. Unless you like your steak burnt with a charcoal flavor. I asked for medium well but we received well done. I asked for them to replace it. The next one was medium well in the middle and the rest of the steak was well done and you can see the burnt part of it. At least they tried. I only ate a small portion of it because we could still taste the burnt charcoal.

The food was so good! And the service was great! Definitely would recommend this place.

Very good restaurant, with inside and outside options for sitting as well as a better customer services if you reserve in advance. Food is superb as well as the variety of wines.

Best place to share some wine and food. Different and very nice decoration. Outside tables are a very good decision to admire the very nice gardens.

Very nice quiet place and good service. I love stouts but wasnt crazy about the Ocean Lab Stout (local breweryonly because it tasted like it had nitro in it. Other than that, the yuca fries were very good, less spicy than I expected. The beef mac n cheese was AMAZING!

Fresh ingredients, a well thought out menu a decent wine list and well executed cocktails. Plating and presentation are on point.First off, take advantage of the five dollar valet, dont waste your time looking for parking. They are set right in front and for 5 dollars you cant go wrong. Theres wheelchair accessible/stroller entry.125s decor is classy and stylish it offers a cozy atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor tables. They specialize in grilled offerings but do explore the menu as theres more than just steak.The meat cuts are excellent and they are carefully seared.Our service experience was impecable and very accommodating. They have high chairs and child friendly meals.Our experience was during a slow day, it was great nonetheless. If youre in the Condado area do pay them a visit.

Extremely delicious, perfectly cooked, well seasoned steak! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable in everything on the menu from the meats, to the creative sides to the unique drinks. Anything you order will be delicious, but always order a mac and cheese for the table! It has shredded steak on top and truffle oil throughout, every single bite is absolutely amazing. They change the menu every few months so there are always new things to try. The atmosphere is very chic and modern with beautiful copper top tables.

Great food, service, and ambiance. Ordered filet mignon and ahí tuna and both were great. Steak was medium rare as ordered. Cocktails were unique and delicious. We originally came here to get scallops, but they are no longer on the menu. Lots of good beef options.

All the reviews here are pretty spot on. We got the chichrrones (picturedand the 12 oz skirt steak. I asked for the steak "chefs choice" and it came to the table rare, like the restaurants name. Tender and juicy, Ive been here a week so far and this is definitely my best meal yet. Got a baked potato as a side, with butter, sour creme and chives. Perfectly baked and trimmings were fresh.Servers were attentive but let us be. They kept an eye on us but didnt smother us.5/5, will make this a regular stop when i come to PR, even though its in Miramar. Highly recommended.

Amazing find. The mac n cheese was out of this world, and we liked how unique the other dishes were. It was hard to pick what to get because everything looked so good.

Super delicious food. The meat is excellent, highly recommended. Different whisky old fashioned and Ocean Lab beer from Puerto Rico.

Beautiful place, good service, excellent quality meats cook perfectly and a tasty dessert. Good Wine list, the carpaccio was excellent. The tenderloin au polvorín is the perfect example of a perfect cut of meat should be.Good bar area but with very limited space, just 4 seats but the cocktails are excellent.Great outdoor seating and valet parking available.

Great Place and nice area in Miramar. Order the truffle mac n cheese shredded beef tenderloin and great meat cuts! Delicious.
