Raphoe Castle - Castle in Omagh, United Kingdom
Looked beautiful from outside, visited late evening on a whim! Will go back later to explore the insides later
Wonderful waterfall. It is a great place for a relaxing and thinking about your life...Even alone you will not be bored here. The sound of the waterfall gently soothes and sets in a positive way.
A magnificent ruin, unfortunately there is no access to the castle and it seems to be private property. Would be great if it were restored. 🏰
Nice place especially at sunset. Bit of a tricky walk to get there especially in the rain. If you have a bigger vehicle, youre better off parking in town then walking there, rather than driving right up.
Not recommended. Place not maintained well. Dont waste your time by visiting this place.
An interesting piece of history. There could be better access to the castle. For example,a set of stairs.
We love it
Old castle ruins that belonged to the Leslie family
Must have been a truly spectacular Castle
The name is epic! Anyway back to the true nature of this review. This castle is such a hidden gem, literally. Driving to its location is very hard to place you have to go onto the beaten path to get to it, and let me tell you going on a very rainy day is not a smart idea, but still worth it. Your visit will be short but your photos will be sweet. If you are passing by the area, make sure you stop by but dress for a “hike.”
Nice object but so pity that nobody care about it…
Fachada del castillo buen conservada. No se puede acceder al interior del castillo.
A lot of history in this place needs to be tidied up a lot of rubbish strewn around beer cans bottles etc
Delapidated. Litter strewn. Best viewed from a distance
Ruined castle in Raphoe. Close to road but couldnt find an easy path to it. Found an overgrown path to it which had a few awkward climbs.
Abandonné et squatté.Déçu de la visite de ce site.Laissé à labandon, squatté, difficilement accessible, ce château aurait mérité mieux.
Really beautiful building
A real piece of history right in this lovely wee town.
Beautiful spot, not that easy to reach but definitely worth it. Too bad its full of garbage inside - cmon folks, you could have even better parties there if you just always took your mess back home.. :-(
Not the best but ok
not accessable
Full of horrible people
Beautiful! But was really dirty! So ebody must look after the historical places like this one!
The amazing middle ages ruin is one of the big features this wonderful town has. One home to the powerful Baron it was the center of power in the area. Note there are several stunning places near.. a church from the 1100s a massive stone circle and neolithic ruins.
جميلة
Best castle Ive been to so far
Tranquil n scenic
Would love to rate higher because it is such a historic building but it is very poorly kept, trash and cow poop everywhere and it looks like it is often occupied by vagrants
The site is not accessible but for a not so legal path full of litter. The site itself is very dirty and not interesting.
Old school
Verfallene Ruine auf Privatbesitz. Leider völlig vermüllt, kenne ich so aus Irland eigentlich nicht.
Great historical place to visit with family and learn about the history of the castle
Piece of local history.
Local ruined castle on private land
The palace was insulated with turf and surprisingly the whole place burned down when it accidentally caught fire. What a surprise 😀
👌🏻
Beautiful old building
Lovely ruins of the Bishops Palace.
A castle in the trees. Interesting walk.about but path overgrown unfortunately.
Lovely tourist spot
Nice little ruin of a castle
Tolle Ruine. Der Zugang ist etwas versteckt, direkt durch die Bäume hinter dem Wald. Leider ist sie auch etwas vermüllt. Zudem gibt es einen grossen Steinkreis (Beltany Stone Circlein der Nähe.
Great castle off the beaten path. It is not a maintained site, so you have to take the trail up the hill. There is trash everywhere in the castle, it is depressing that people cant cleanup after themselves.
Wish we couldve gotten closer, but pretty cool for pictures! Nice ruins. We went about 5:45pm and the sun was setting, lighting it perfectly for just a few minutes. Free to see, gated around.
Lovely spot !
A beautiful castle that needs to be made safe and developed before we lose another wonderful part of our history .
Ormai distrutto e inaccessible
