Râpa Roșie - Nature reserve in Blaj, Romania
Great rock landscape! It is easily reached by car, however, you have to climb a little through a difficult path for people with mobility issues. It is worth the exercise and you can stand so near that it it is truly impressive. Great views. The route on Google Maps can be a little bit tricky
A very nice location that can be reached by car ,but please be aware that the last 4 kilometres are on macadam road, so it will take you 15-20 minutes to reach your destination. Once you arrive you can see what the mother can create if humans dont interfere. If you are nearby and you have a regular car ( not Ferrari or Lambo typeit is a must see .
An interesting geological formation, with the classification of a natural reserve. We did a 3 hour hike, exploring the muddy ravines and making a lot of photos.PS. If you decide to go there, please keep the nature clean.
Superb
Nice and not far from the road, of you are nearby with a visit, only if youre near.
Looks spectacular worth a pit stop if you drive by
Superb
Nice wild spot
Amazing 😻
Interesting rock formation to visit. The Google maps location is accurate and will take you to the bottom of the cliffs, however bear in mind that the road taking you there from the highway exit is a dirt road, easy to do on a sunny day with most cars, however after it rains it might be a bit difficult for some. Once you reach a large opening where the road ends, you can take several short trails to get closer to the cliffs, but I would recommend wearing hiking shoes, as the trails are short but steep ;Only downside to visiting this place, is the trash that you see along the way :( please dont leave any trash behind when visiting!
Superb
Arrived a bit after sunset, the sun, while spectacular in itself while setting, was not lighting the ravine so the colours were very natural. On the smallish side, the canyon-like formation, arrested our attention for minutes in order to look for various shapes, silhouettes and hues. Not so bad road from the main highway, large place to park and go on further on foot to the hill where you could better appreciate the view. Absolutely worthy of a visit!
really unexpected spot, really hot but nice..a part of Bryce Canion in Romania
Really beautiful place for a night stay. From the high way it is nit so beautiful as you are at the place.+ views+ incredibly red rocks+ friendly locals- bumpy road to get there.- no facilities
Lovely place to visit. The colour of the rocks is just amazing. You can get there by car very easy. A place that makes you feel somewhere else than beeing in Romania. Not very busy area. Enjoy !
European Uluru. Gravel road to the place, but not so bumpy. No infrastructure at place.
Amazing view.Small hike to get closer (not easily accessible without proper boots/trekking shoes). The access road is doable with extra care, as its pretty off-road. Theres a little spot for parking just at the base of it.Theres no cost for entering. All in all, worth it.
Awesome place for sleeping, looks beautiful in the evening.
nice place to visit , a little hike to see the ravine on top and 50 kms from Sibiu passing E81 highway
superb!
Beautiful, stunning views and many friendly dogs, free to visit😁 and the road is ok
If you live nearby its a nice short visit you can make to Rapa Rosie. The photos are quite awesome!
Great outdoor place for low experience hikers. Be sure to have hiking shoes as its slippery to get up on some paths.
If you want a place to hike on mountains, this is the right spot. And the view is beautiful. Fun fact: When it rains, the mountain looks like crying with blood and its kinda scary.
Really beautiful canyon. The road untill there is not paved. I recommend park the car 1km away and walk until the canyon its a nice view. The actual downward footpath is not marked, arranged nor even with a railing, the local authorities dont care and thats a shame!Overall its worth seeing if you like special discoverings and unique places
After you exit Sebes theres a 3 km dirt road to the site. The hike through the forest is quite challenging, so make sure you have proper footwear.
A little nice walk in the nature, with multiple paths created by foot, Râpa Roșie offers a great little challenging walk in the nature. You have two paths, the easy one and one which is a little bit steeper than the easy one. It is a little bit hard to get to the place, the road not being the most gentle one for the car. The place is great to be visited but mostly when it is dry outside and it hasn t rained.
Wonderful product of nature. Parking spot few metres from the view point, but you still need to climb up some hundreds meters to enjoy the view. There ary many paths to follow to climb up, I recommend at least two. We visited the rock in summer and it was extreme hostile weather, so that we could stay only 30 minutes, otherwise we would overheat. I recommend to climb in trekking shoes. Slippers may be dangerous in some parts.
There are several climbing routes. Its easier to climb than to descend. The view is enchanting. A unique place.
The road is not good at all. Its a dirt road, and if it will rain, it will get all muddy. The spot is impressive and worth the while.
A place to check in Romania. Wonderful colours
Dirt road for a few miles going to what looks like nowhere in the fields...then you get there and its amazing. Worth the 15-20 minutes off the highway, for some cool pics and beautiful scenery.
Beautiful place, too bad there is no street to get there, just a country road without any form of pavement. Make sure youre not driving a low clearance car if you want to get there!
A must visit if passing by. Quite a unique place! The road is not very good, but passable with any car as long as you go slow.
A beautiful and unic natural monument, a geological and botanical reserve. The acces road is in very poor condition but the view is worthing the effort
Nice place for a mountain stroll.Beware of bad car road untill you get there
The nature is beautiful!! Too bad the road to the rocks is very bad.
Quite impressive sights with great colors even during winter. Worth a stop if in the area.
Nice walk in the nature. There is only nature there, nothing else!!
The steep climb requires physical shape, but when you get to the top its worth it. There are signs near the entrance warning about theft of valubels left in parked cars - nobody stole nothing from us (maybe the car look too cheap). Take into account that the road leading to the site is a dirt and gravel.
I recommend visiting râpă roșie. Make sure you wear hiking boots, the walking routes are steep. And please dont throw your garbage away there and respect the nature :)
Interesting place, worth visiting if not for the unusual geological formation, at least for the "canyon" feeling.
This place is really fascinating! Its very close to the main road and accesibile with any normal vehicle (take care if it rained before as mud will be a problemand looks amazing! You can also do a quick hike to the top of the hill if you feel a bit adventurous!
Lovely place for picnic right in front. I suggest taking the trail to the top. It starts from the meddow and then to the right as you look at the Ravine. Get at the end of the military shooting range and then scramble a bit through the bushes. You are on the eastern side of the ravine. From there, in a short but steep hike of about 15 minutes youll be on top. Above, there are untouched meadows sprinkled with oak trees and tall grass. There is a way coming don aprox at the middle of the ravine so you dont need to go all the way down to the far west side. That trail ends up right in the heart of the ravine on which most of the visitors come up on (main trail). This whole circuit can take up to 2-3 hours in an easy walk.
Beautiful natural reservation, 2 km faar from Sebes. The road is not very good till there. You feel there like in Arizona with the red hills . A lot of parapant go there to fly .
Very nice view, nice nature, place for a free camping nearby.
Seen from the distance, it is not quite so impressive. But, when you are getting closer, the details will appear and will get your interest. My recommendation is to climb the highest hill from the immediate vicinity from the right side and when you get on top and have a look around, you will see that it was worth the effort.
A bit difficult to find but just go to the military base of Sebes and a bit further in the same road just after crossing under the bridge in which the highway is, turn left on a land rocky way ("street"there is a small poster in which you see Rapa Rosie. Its beautiful and big easy to walk around. Just dont go when its raining its risky because of the mud and the water flow.
extraordinary place, worth of visit.Note that approach can be a bit challenging especially during winters months or if it is raining.
Great place to visit, but bring your tracking shoes, you will need them.
