RaniKot Fort Sindh in Talhār
Description
Historical place you will see how they build this fort when they have limited amount of tools and equipment .
MoreThe historical place. You can enjoy the day here.
World largest for in Sindh near Sann it resambles with the great wall of china, so far no one knows the exact history of this fort but many beleives that it was build by talpurs in 17th century.
MoreThis fort is an amazing place to visit with a group of friends. I would recommend people to visit it on any public holiday especially keeping in view the weather condition. It would be very stupid to visit during the summer time because you would require a lot of walking to explore the fort and the area is Scorching hot and massive. I would suggest all to visit it during the spring or winter season which are comparatively less exhausting.
MoreIts beautiful and historic place one should visit. The worlds no 1 biggest fortThis is an amazing fact. That can convince you to visit this place.Total length of fort is 30 km.
MoreRoad from San to Rani Kot Forte quite ok ,not worry to go , Amazing experience highly recommend
MoreRanikot Fort also known as ‘The Great wall of Sindh’ is believed to be the world’s largest fort. But who constructed it and for what motive? Its still a question in millions of minds. Ranikot Fort is easily vulnerable from Karachi through the National Highway. After departing from Karachi and passing Hyderabad Bypass, head to Dadu through on the Indus Highway. The road is in excellent condition. From Hyderabad, its about 2 hours journey to Ranikot fort through Manjhand & San city.We reached Ranikot around 5 pm, but the weather was still warm. But its better than a hotter afternoon. The mesmerizing view of the great wall of Sindh amazed us how this 32 kilometers long man-made wall was built in an era when we cant think about the heavy machines and technology we have now.We tried to climb over the wall for some hundreds of meters but were tired because of the broken tracks.Overall it was an unforgettable experience to visit the place we heard about from our childhood. Unfortunately, There is no Accessible way or track for the people who use wheelchairs to experience the fort or the great wall of Sindh from Upper side.
MoreA very prominent place, you can see the history of Sindh. This place is not for those who just want to get interest, this is for those who love ancient palces.
MoreRanikot Fort is a must see wonder for being the largest Fortress of the world. Located at 30km away from Indus highway. The link road towards the Fort is in average condition but does not necessarily requires an SUV to travel. Requires at least one full day for visit. Tourist must carry their own water and food with them. There are various point to visit in the fort. The tourists enter the Fort from Eastern gate which is a great marvel of architecture. At the Eastern gate called the “Sann Gate”, there is no tourist facility. The walls here have been preserved remarkably good. Few KM inside the Fort there are small fortresses called “Meeri” and “Shergarh”. Not all areas of the Fort are accessible by vehicle and one have to go on foot to visit certain areas of the Fort. There’s a rain water pathway which leads to a pond called “parion jo talau”. From there on few KMs the “Mohan Gate” is located. There was no presence of government officials anywhere. No security personnel could be seen either. However, there were few families visiting the fort. Apparently, there were no concerns of security but it is recommended that all precautionary measures must be adopted since it is a deserted place. Also, to visit most of the Fort at-least one entire day is required, so plan accordingly. Walking on the walls is fort is a laborious activity so those with heart conditions or elder ones should avoid climbing too much. Sunlight is very bright too. Not recommended at all to visit in summers. Best time for visit can be Mid-December to Mid-February. Camping here can be a good idea if proper arrangements are made. All in all it’s a great experience being on top of the great wall of Sindh.
MoreThis is near Miri for/Rani kot, this wall cant be walked much . It is of 75kms surrounding miri and forts in between.
MoreThe Fort is lovely and full of history. The STDC resort and all their staff need some training in customer service. The resort was built in 2018 and since then there has not been anyone to maintain it.
MoreThe fort is the 2nd great wall of the world, best historical place, open air, cool environment, look of old architecture like other forts of the Asia, less visitors, less attention by the Sindh and federal government.
MoreAmazing.Historical Fort.Roads are not have too good.Try to go first on main fort then outside walls. There are two hotels which give you fully vernished and 2 bed in each are present .Try to go for 5000/30$ per night room.
More40km area of the world greatest fort. It is beautiful, but it can become more exotic if government pit its attention and make it visitors magnet place.I love history and land marks. This place is beautiful.
MoreAmazing place to visit if you are fond of seeing historical remains :), A rest house and TUC shop is in there near Mirikot fort.

I believe that Sindh is an ancient civilization that goes back at least seven thousand years and it has many important archeological sites. Many are explored, however, Rani Kot Fort, which is one of the largest forts in the world, has yet to be explored. An MoU (memorandum of understandinghas been signed between Italian archeologists and the Sindh Government to allow for exploration. To date, the research is ongoing. The historic Rani Kot Fort is a mystery. It was built on mountains of the Khirthar Ranges of Sindh. It is located about 28 kilometers from the Sann Gate from Jamshoroo City. It is believed to be the largest fort in the world having walls nearly 35 kilometers long. The age of the fort is unclear, however, archeologists predict that the magnificent structure was built sometime in the 9th-century. Visually, its walls are truly a roller coaster ride, sometimes going as high as three thousand feet above sea level while other times instantly sliding down towards the ground.Archeologists want to ensure Rani Kot Fort gets the recognition it deserves. Its construction resembles the Great Wall of China which is why it is often referred to as “The Great Wall of Sindh.” Since 1993, it is has been on the tentative list to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its status is still pending. Many agree that it is the most fascinating place in Sindh. The surrounding walls of Rani Kot Fort are made from gypsum and lime cut sandstone. There are four entrance gates, namely:• Sann Gate or Eastern Gate• Amri Gate or North Eastern Gate• Shahper Darwaza or the Southern Gate• Mohan Gate or the Western GateInside the fort are two small forts located at different elevations. The lower one is called Meri Kot and the upper one is known as Shergarh. Miri Kot is about three kilometers from the eastern gate, while Shergarh is a kilometer away. Both forts appear to be residential forts. To give you an idea of the vastness of Rani Kot Fort, it is so large that there is enough space in it for building hundreds of other forts. It has been determined that Rani Kot Fort was built for the purpose of defense and to house many inhabitants. The rulers of different times lived here and it was the center of political activities where many ancient leaders of Sindh gathered. Artifacts uncovered at Rani Kot tell a fascinating story of its inhabitants and a rich history that spans thousands of years. Some of the findings include archaic coins, terracotta of the Indus Civilization, an engraved sign of a swastika, a leaf of the papal tree (sacred fig); evidence of a peacock, sunflower, and lotus flower; remains of Zoroastrians and Buddhists, and arrows of different kinds. There are three graveyards at Rani Kot Fort. One graveyard holds four hundred graves. Many of the sandstone grave markers are engraved with motifs of sunflowers and peacocks.

MoreWorlds largest fort and it still has its walls standing. Very well preserved if compared with other forts of Pakistan. Has a small pond nearby Pariyon jo Thal. Guides can help with the history of the place. There is another fort on the mountain which we can see but would have a lot of effort to reach there. Minimal facilities available here but still a must visit place for travel and history enthusiasts
MoreVery good place to visit especially after rain. Loved it.
Historic place with newly built guest house and delicious food I must say

Its name is taken from this stream; “Rani” meaning Stream. The Rani Kot Fort resembles no other fort in the world. Its unusual size, lost history, strategically useless position, uninhabited area, and unexplored features make the fort one of the strangest places in the world. One would require a time machine to solve its mystery. Its unusual size and location in the absolute wilderness doesnt make sense, at least in the present times. For those wishing to visit Rani Kot Fort, it may be helpful to know that we booked our tour with Rover Pakistan. The tour included transportation, breakfast, snacks and lunch, all at a very reasonable price. There were a total number of twenty people on our tour including guests from KarSuch a beautiful & wonderful place to celebrate heritage & mystic history

MoreMesmerizing place with majestic beauty though left only ruins but still hold a charismatic beauty with whispers of sleeping past, reaching here is not difficult from main highway some 35km away road is reasonable.
MoreDue to high temperatures in this area, It is not recommended to visit this place in summer. Since there r many inclined places. Also hiking towards pariyoun jo Thar is little bit difficult. However you can enjoy in winter.- Air-conditioned rooms with all modern amenities are available by STDC. So families can easily stay there.- Canteen available with limited stuff near Merikot fort.- Patrol available at the shop near by pariyoun jo thal.
MoreMari kot fort is a historical place no one knows who build this huge building and when what was the purpose I highly suggest you visit it and stay there near this Mari kot fort you can find water and restaurant easy and road is also ok to ride to drive had great experience
MoreRanikot Fort is the beautiful place, specially Fort Border is an excellent place and its very well preserved. STDC developed guest houses on the cliff top which are below average but make it possible for tourists to stay on night. This place has significant height which makes it excellent for viewing sunrise and sunset. In night of clear days it can be excellent for star gazing, but if you want to capture stars keep dslr camera with you. You can spot milky way if got lucky
MoreGreat historical place. Fort covers 32 km boundary wall, also call Sind wall. For visitor I suggest to visit at least 2-3 gates. Travelling is only possible with owned vehicle. Distance from main road to Ranikot is about 40km which bumpy and broken. Preferred visit period November to February. Plan in such wat to sunrise there. Restourants are also available at Mirikot which is 5-10 km away from Rani kot. Mobile service available at peak of 1st gate of Rani Kot.
MoreI visited many places in the world but this one of the greatest experience of my life. In this place you will get pure beauty and calmness. Recommend everyone must visit this heaven in your life otherwise your soul will get cry. Dont only visit that place but make sure to discover hidden beauty which you get after a long travel
MoreExcellent Place really its a Great Wall of Sindh.

MoreHighly recommended, one of the most epic places in Pakistan. Its so majestic that other forts just fade in comparison. A day trip from Karachi will do because it is hardly 4 hours from the Karachi toll plaza. The road leading to the fort is not in the best of conditions but still doable for normal cars/bikes.
MoreHistorical old fort the biggest fort of Pakistan the main attraction of this fort a long wall resembles with great wall of China Dont go there in Summer must take plenty of water with you very bad roads very far from main road almost 30km and there are 6 or 8 more small forts inside the wall which are not easily accessible you have to walk almost 15 to to 20 km to visit all of them and need a Local guide
MoreIts such an incredible sight to see. Driving in you see the rocky, sandy, hilly, desert landscape. And suddenly if you squint enough you see a small portion of this massive fort endlessly snaking over the hills. There is now a decent restaurant and some utilities within the fort as well to support tourists. However, the signs and information is poor. The tour guides dont know a lot about the area. The renovations on some parts of the fixtures are done without considering aesthetics. There is no formal ticketing area to then trigger reinvestment or collection of funds for preservation. Sindh is really behind on its tourism management compared to KP and Punjab. That part is extremely disappointing to see.More people need to see this place to increase demand and press for investment into this incredible construct.
MoreSuperb historical place. Outstanding views
Great visiting place in Sindh - u can visit with friends and family and resort service is also available there.
MoreA place where you can see the historical place in Sindh. Must visit to see that what story tells history about the Ranikot. Historical place many rumors but not found an accurate history about it. They made 3 rooms inside the Ranikot not much facilities but you can stay 1 night. Winter is better to visit. There is a Hotel and Guest House outside the Ranikot is in process.
MoreAlso known as the Great Wall of Sindh, this fort is believed to be the largest in the world with a circumference of 32kms. Great place for a day trip and camping. Although, I wish people were not vandalising this thousands of years old archeological site. Sindh Archeological Department is doing a great job with this site; I hope people will be equally responsible and not litter and vandalise the walls and understand the importance of this ages old fort. SAD also has its history so its really not an unknown fort in the middle of no where.
MoreIts a great place for people who love to explore and enjoy history. An old historic site which can stun an individual with its not so known history and its greatness as it is often times called The Great Wall of Sindh. The best time to explore is during daylight. Ranikot is a lot of walking.. Recently new rest houses are constructed for visitors. Its a must see site.
MoreThe ancient fort is a mystery and after our visit the baffling thought about the objective of such a huge fortification and complex has completely taken over our mind. The mini-fortresses inside are simple bastion which may not be used for living but temporary stays or perhaps limited rest areas for onward travels.Perhaps the area served as a shikaargah and the 31square kilometers compound was walled to confine the game and the inner fortifications served to protect the hunting nobleman.
MoreHistorical place but need to be provided with a comfortable road many could see this wonder of the world.
MoreSpended beautiful time at Rani Kot Fort. The old civilization and its awesome place is mesmerizing. The water fountain is beautiful and sweet and clean water with small fishes.
MoreLike all other good things, we also ignored the great wall of Sindh or Ranikit Fort. What a beauty it is, even better than the great wall of China. Excellent location for rover and history lovers like me, no communication signals (this is the best part of the site, really enjoyed it because no one was able to call me or text me to disturb I was all my own and felt Great!)And special Salute to the one whoever made this huge thing no doubt its a monster among structures totally Matchless.
MoreA great and historic place.. a 27 kilometer long wall joint with 6 forts of ancient time... Extremely hot in summer during daytime but beautiful and calm in night. A must visit place for the ones who love history..
MoreAmazing place; great wall of sindh and giant forts are welcome you, there is a waterfall with refreshing and crystal clear water with ponds and fishes.
MoreA good historical place to go to..Only for people who like to experience some sort of adventure..Its tiring but a great place to spend time..
MoreMysterious Ranikot fort is in Jamshoro District, about 90km north near Sann town. It is said to be one of largest forgot of World. Fort occupies 32 square km with 9 km diameter and wall average 10 meter high. There are three fortresses inside the fort named Mirikot, Shergarrh, Mohnkot. There are ruins of the court, harems, guest room and soldier quarters inside it. This talismanic wonder is attributed by historians to different eras from Arabs, sassanians, Parthians, Greek, to Nawab wali Muhammad in Talpur dynasty. History is still mystery for historians to be solved.
MorePakistans equivalent of Great Wall of China. Unfortunately the place does not get the fame it deserves. An advice for visitors, dont just stop at the start of the wall. Explore the area. There are several forts and some in good condition. Also visit "Paryun Jo Tar" , a beautiful small waterfall and pond for natural fish therapy of feet.
MoreWas surprised by this historical structure comparable to the Great Wall of China right in the heart of Sindh. An architectural masterpiece which is still surprisingly preserved, thanks to some good work by a provincial NGO. If you visit, you should get a guide to explain all the intricacies. I hear you should only visit in winter months as summers are quite brutal.Within the larger compound of Ranikot that is surrounded by a 26 km wall, there are three forts strategically located so there is a clear line of sight between the three forts. There is a nice spring as well. I think you really need a guide to do justice to the place.
